  1. Fitz - Very sorry news. You and your family are in my prayers.
  2. And, as stated, we have what looks to be two solid young running backs. So, no from me, too.
  3. I'll miss camp at Fisher; I live right up the road in Fairport. Even though I only go a few times, it never fails to get me hyped! I see the banners, crowds and buses. I know the boys are in town, and it just adds to the excitement of the coming season.
  4. https://www.nfl.com/news/stephon-gilmore-tyrann-mathieu-among-nfl-s-10-best-in-coverage Nice write-up with a good highlight clip. (I tried searching but didn't see anything. If already posted, please excuse me and delete.)
  5. Josh Allen, but if he is too obvious, then Tre White
  6. i remember when sports came back after 9/11. It just lifted everyone's spirits after that gut punch. It didn't make everything okay again, but it was just something that we could all come together and enjoy. I just watched the Embedded show, and I can't wait now. Not to get all sappy, but the Bills have a "family" and we are all a part of it. Those kids can't wait to be NFL players in Buffalo. This corona virus thing has us all cooped up. I can't wait to show them what is like when we are all together and the stadium is rocking! Let's Go, Buffalo!
  7. If you don't expect OBL to be anything other than a media arm of a pro sports organization, then it is just fine with Murph and whoever. It will never have direct, overt criticism of the team, but then, we don't get that anyway because reporters are afraid of losing sources/guests. (We don't handle it well anyway - see Sully and Sal Maiorana) I'll take it at face value that Murph was wanting more free time. Brown will be fire, and I'll give Glab a shot. She's so new it's hard to know what she will become. Tasker's thing has been getting old. He really doesn't do prep very much. He relies on that '90s connection, which means little to today's team or game. Props to him for day gone by, but it's time to move on.
  8. The Gronk stuff bothered me, too. However, I do enjoy Gronk in other places, interviews, shows, etc. His goofy wackiness and laugh can be infectious. I wonder if this is a case of him having been a Patriot plus that really bad play with White. With the cheap hit, I wouldn't want to be remembered for my worst moment. Does anyone know if he regrets it? Has he spoken about it?
  9. I hope his wheels still work with the added weight.
  10. Happy Birthday, Joe!! Thanks for the memories!
  11. Although I think we could use upgrades at G, RT, TE, a big, change-of-pace RB, and a young WR, the old adage that defense wins championships holds true for me. We still need an edge rusher, a backup MLB, an OLB to match with Milano, a backup S and another CB.
  12. Have we heard any comments from the new guys on offense, like Feliciano, or anyone else new from other teams, about the atmosphere of family/character that the Bills foster? Is it different on other teams? One would think every team would try to instill that attitude. Why is it that the Bills have been successful under this management.
  13. This question leads to thinking that we will be having the current RBs and current line blocking, if that is what you call it. I suspect that we will have two new (younger) backs and at least three new linemen (and a different WR, too). Right now, there are eight in the box on plays to RBs, when they have someone in the backfield. With new personnel, things will open up more. I don't know about 1000 yard rusher, but I think there will be a considerable improvement.
  14. At my brother-in-laws funeral, there was a small coffin in the next room. So sad.
  15. I read that Rex asked to speak to Mr. Pegula alone, without Whaley, after a three-way conversation. Rex then asked if Mr. Pegula was going to fire him after the season or keep him on. In the press conference, Whaley said that kind of decision would usually be made after the season ending reviews. Since Mr. Pegula had already made up his mind after the Oakland game and before having that season ending review, Mr. Pegula did what Rex wanted and told him then. Someone said, perhaps Rex wanted to see the Clemson game. Who knows. The point is that Mr. Pegula would have waited, discussed it with Rex, Whaley (and maybe Brandon, too) and then fired Rex. He didn't tell Whaley he was going to do it because he was responding, like a man, to Rex's question. There seems to be a lot of fans here that don't think the owner should be involved at all in making this sort of decision. I just don't think that is reasonable. Terry and Kim Pegula paid over a billion dollars for the Buffalo Bills.
  16. I have been lurking but not posting for a while, but that is funny.
  17. Yeah - You gotta think he is due for a span of games where is feels okay. Should be fun to watch.
  18. Moving up to top 10 would have required packaging a trade, losing another pick, which indeed could have been done. My larger point was not really about the Watkins trade, it is that these guys always seem to be in the glass is half empty crowd, stirring the pot, as Lurker says, but from a pessimistic point of view. I understand and value the need to be critical, as VABills is in that last post, but it seems these guys are always coming from that angle.
  19. I've seen some discussion of this before. Forgive me if I am repeating a topic. A lot of people seem to find Jerry Sullivan negative. I am in Rochester, and we have Sal Maiorana, Bob Matthews, Leo Roth, and Scott Pitoniak as sports reporters/announcers/hosts that I find negative about the Bills quite a bit. Yesterday, for example, Pitoniak was rehashing the Watkins trade, arguing that it wasn't worth it, that the Bills could have had Beckham, etc. His co-host, Dan Borrello pointed out that it was more likely that the Bills would have drafted Ebron, a first year bust. I would add, that then we would not have Watkins, not have a true #1 WR at all because we would have drafted Ebron. We also would not have Clay. We would still need a #1 WR and #1 TE, and, as Pitoniak's co-host also pointed out, this year's draft class is weak, maybe 18 deep for true first round value. We would be drafting right about then, getting probable second round value from a first round choice. But, instead, we do have Watkins (and Clay), and we still have a second round pick in 2015, a good value. I think we need new, younger people writing and talking sports in Western New York. All these older guys are jaded by the past fifteen years and are so negative it makes it difficult to listen to them. Borrello and anther younger guy in Rochester, Dan Moriarty, might be the new guys.
