  1. 1. Evans, Watkins, Ebron, Mack, Mosley, even. (We need a RT and G, not a LT. No RT or G should come at 9.) 2. Best OT available 3. Best LB available 4. Best G available 5. Best DB avaible 7. Best LB available
  2. I'm not sure that is the way I understand it. Isn't the team in trust right now? The Trustees have a fiduciary responsibility to the holder(s) of the trust to maximize the value of the team; therefore, the trustees will have to sell it to the highest bidder. This is the way it was explained to me, anyway. The only wiggle they have might be in what the "value" means.
  3. Mr. Wilson created a team for us, and I hope we, together, future ownership and fans, can continue to create that team for the future.
  4. Smerlas: Mentioned earlier. Have you ever heard him on the radio lately? Cheatriot homer. Runs down the Bills every chance he gets. Wants to fight anyone who dares disagree with his point of view. Then uses Buffalo fame to earn money. Complete jerk.
  5. My bold prediction is that they sign Byrd to a four-year, 32 million dollar deal.
  6. Must have been about 1987 or '88. I tending bar and waiting tables at Eagle Vale, a big club/restaurant in Rochester at that time. Several Bills came in for a promotional event, among them Andre Reed. The place was a mad house. I had told my wife and son about the event, and as big Bills fans, both came. People filled hallways, stairways; it was crazy. Most of the Bills stayed in a room downstairs on a lower level, having dinner with a select group of people. They were supposed to come up into the main bar/restaurant area to sign autographs, but most were afraid of the mob scene, including Kelly. I can't really blame them; it was out of control. But Andre came up. He signed autographs for the kids (and adults) for quite a while. My son was disappointed he didn't get to meet Kelly, but I always had a lot of respect for Andre after that.
  7. As far as this draft another QB talk, EJ is still largely an enigma. They will have to focus on other areas in this next draft. After another year, if EJ is still not seeing the field well and errant on his deep balls, if he gets injured again, maybe the Bills go QB again in 2015 or 2016, but not next year. EJ has too much upside. We need to wait it out, unfortunately. He's a rookie. They need a OLB, CB, and maybe S on defense; and a tall WR, LG, TE. RT, and RB on offense. Too many needs to be drafting another QB this soon.
  8. I'm coming in for the game Sunday and staying at the Hyatt downtown. In previous years we have taken a Metro shuttle to/from the stadium. Does anyone know if it is still running?
  9. You know, it is a cliche and all that. It's funny because it gets brought up all the time. But I would like to see a chart of what the cap was, and what Ralph spent each year. Maybe if I saw it in black and white, I could say, "Hey, That Ralph is cheap stuff is B.S." I see the Bills spend money on Dockery or Williams, but I would just like to see a nice, simple chart. Maybe, even with Dockery and Williams, Ralph IS chearp. IDK.
  10. Is he a head case, and can he block? If the answers are no and yes, then okay.
  11. I heavily edited the quote, but I went back to page one for it because it is the best in the thread. I am a glass half full kind of guy. I feel that way about the USA, and I feel that way about the Bills. Every year I hope it will be the turning point, This year is no different. Other wise, why watch? Why root? Are you so jaded that you believe they can't turn it around? They can't find a good coach, a good QB? I'm a fan. Go, Go, Buffalo!
  12. I'd really hate to see them bring in a rookie that needs to watch and practice in that situation. What would the upside there be for either Manuel or the team? At 0-4, they probably don't go 10-2 and make the playoffs. However, Manuel may get overwhelmed. In that situation, better to let the team start to develop and get a higher draft position next year. Then let Manuel play in 2014 with a restocked team. However, if the team is 5-5, and better QB play might make the difference, then I would favor giving him a try, but if he looks too shaky, I would pull him back out until next year.
  13. Hairston moves to guard. They are looking at Davis for TE. If they still get another LB and a WR from FA, then they take QB, LB, and WR, in some order 1,2, 3. Feel better?
  14. I might consider a 4th or 5th this year. Let him play. If he fails, we are ready to draft next year, and Flynn can remain as a backup. This allows us to use the first 3-4 rounds on other areas this year.
  15. I'm hoping they take a LB at #8, not a QB or WR. Take whatever top line QB is left in round 2, then take another LB in round 3, and a WR in 4 that they can bring along. A WR takes a year or two to develop. We really need a #1 (Johnson is really a #2 or even a slot guy), but I'm hoping we get a good, starting WR in FA to pair with Johnson this year while Graham or this year's draft choice pans out. Then next year, we might very well be taking a QB again but in RD 1 and even another WR in RD 2.
  16. As I texted a friend during the game yesterday, that could have been any time during the past twelve years. The team is in the same place it has been since the Music City Miracle. It looks like the same, god-awful team making the same god-awful mistakes. I swear, we could go back over the posts, erase players/coaches names, and re-post the same posts and no would know what year the post was from.
  17. I totally understand the reluctance to compare him to Barry Sanders. It is too early in his career to say he is, or will be, like Barry. But I have to admit, when he was making some of those cuts, Barry was the runner I thought of, too. He has a similar style and ability. If only we are lucky enough to see that for the next ten years.
  18. I voted unsure on Nix; no on Gailey. But Nix needs to get rid of this coaching staff (he can keep April). The misuse of personnel on both O and D is sickening. This should be an explosive, attacking defense, filling running lanes as they attack the ball. Instead, it is as generic and predictable as they come. The third down play where Gilmore was ten yards off the ball was my last straw. And Gailey's misuse of CJ and Freddie can no longer be denied. That second half last week was not the first time this has happened. Chan's lack of knowledge about what the heck is going on, on defense is nuts. If he was the OC, I would understand his comments. But it is obvious we do not have a Head Coach. We have three coordinators, and two of them aren't very good.
  19. Some of you guys are sick puppies, What hole in your soul does this come from?
  20. This is a spread type league now. The rules changes have made it a passing league. I'm not saying that run oriented offenses can't work. But in the modern NFL, it is mostly pass first. Chan has it right there. He doesn't have the players to execute it. That is the problem. Maybe he should modify that spread for a bit until Nix can get him a better QB and better WRs.
  21. I'm 56; born in '56. Born and raised in Rochester. Still there. I grew up a Cleveland Browns fan . . . Jim Brown and the Syracuse connection, as the Buffalo Bills were still yet to be. It was a slow transition in our house, but by 1969, with OJ and the Electric Company, we were on our way. I got distracted by women and music for a bit, but Joe Ferguson and the Bills were always around. I watched every game of the 2-14 seasons. By the 90's, I was in a better place, and I bought Shout packs; the Bills would sell 1/2 season tickets: 1 preseason and 4 home games (they picked the games), and I was all in, the Super Bowl years. Since then, I rarely miss a game on TV, and I still go to one or two a year. although the crowd's drinking gets really old now that I'm getting old. Tucson John (boyhood friend from Rochester) comes in. We stay at the Hyatt, eat at the Chophouse, and live large for a weekend. Sports are great!
  22. 1280 AM in Rochester has John "Tools" DiTullio in the afternoons. He's got a solid show. There is an alternative. He gets Bills guys on. He'll talk baseball, hockey, whatever. I have heard him get off on non-sports related subjects like food or music, just like the guys on WGR, but John doesn't have the attitude issues.
