  1. I would suspect that Gabe will get priced out and the Bills would be wise to let him walk (take the comp pick and try to retain a defensive free agent with that money like AJE). The Bills would then be wise to spend a 1st rounder at WR to replace Gabe and given that Diggs will be 31 next season have an heir apparent ready long term (having Shakir, Kincaid and a rookie as the young guns with Diggs as the vet). I like Brady trying to get a pivotal player (like or hate Gabe but the team needs at least some solid production from him) some kudos for doing the dirty work (blocking and run routes both things Gabe is good at) that doesn’t get on the stat sheet. I think this is a sign that Brady thinks holistically and he knows going into some tougher games he is going to need Gabe to have a bigger receiving impact and continue to do the dirty work as well.
  2. Davis is just due for a pretty big game. He hasn’t had a big game since Tampa Bay which was about a month ago. The track record of Davis this year and last is usually a big (or at least impactful) game every 3-4 weeks and then a weeks long disappearing act. So just by that pattern he probably has 1-2 more big games left in him.
  3. That’s why it’s so frustrating that the Bills have put themselves behind the eight ball in the standings if the Bills made it as a wildcard I would give them a chance to make it to the SB.
  4. Their offensive line has struggled. Humphries and Thuney and really good along the interior and Trey Smith their other guard is solid. But their tackles have been bad. They let Wiley and Orlando Brown Jr walk and their replacements have been bad. https://amp.kansascity.com/sports/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/article282159493.html
  5. Bills are gonna have to win 2 out of the next 3 and the following 2 to keep pace with the Fins for the division. The Fins are for all their flaws able to beat mid level and bad teams. They can win their next three “easy” games and then just split the difficult next two and the division is out of reach unless the Bills win out which is unlikely. A win on Sunday would greatly improve the outcome of the season as then the Bills can pile up a split in the next two and win the two more winnable games and give themselves a shot to be one game behind Miami.
  6. KC has roster flaws (WR and offensive line issues) and everyone else has major injuries and or roster flaws. NFL seasons are often acts of attrition unfortunately.
  7. Hamlin steps in for Rapp which while a downgrade is not tragic, Dane going down is a hit as the depth after Douglas/Benford is a big hit with Dane out.
  8. 31-28 Bills, the Bills come out high flying on offense and the game is a shootout
  9. I think this is a close game but the Cowboys at home pull away by 10 at the end 24-14 Cowboys but if the Boys turn the ball over it’s gonna be a 50/50 game or a Commanders win.
  10. Knox should be played more like a “flex” player, they should do some two TE stuff of course but I would also like to see Knox play fullback and be used like the 49ers use their FB. Knox is a very good blocker so he has a lot of versatility. They can also put Kincaid in the slot and Knox at TE. Knox shouldn’t be reinserted fully as a starter but if Brady wants to add more “wrinkles” to the offense during the bye week adding in some unique formations and plays for Knox would be a great way to add more to the offense.
  11. The Lions gamble a lot on 4th down situations and this game they crapped out. The worst gamble was the fake punt, no need to hand over points with so much time left and a defense playing decently. You live by the sword you die by the sword so to speak when it comes to Campbell taking chances and risks.
  12. I honestly don’t think Josh has reached his ceiling. He has some of the best if not the best physical tools of any QB to play the game. That’s along with the mental and mechanical tools to put that all together. So his ceiling is having all time great seasons. Similar to the year Mahomes had in 2018 or Brady had in 2007. Josh’s closest year to that level of production was 2020 but I think he can do better than that. I think a season with 40+ TD’s sub 8 INT’s is the type of season I would say is Josh’s ceiling.
  13. This is so accurate it hurts.
  14. My point wasn’t about the time but rather how the kick was held on a free kick. A kickoff is put on a tee while a free kick is held to the ground like a field goal. So comparing a free kick to a kickoff is not accurate
  15. A free kick isn’t put on a tee like a kickoff it’s held by another player just like a field goal there just is no rush from the opposing team.
  16. Harty has been a solid punt returner but there is virtually no kickoff return game. I think Hines would have been an upgrade to both return games maybe 1-2 big ST plays would have helped in the Broncos or Pats losses? As far as using Hines as a third-down back on offense I don't think they really knew how to use him effectively.
  17. Bad weather plus they double teamed Kelce a lot given that there is literally no other receiver threat on the team they can do a lot of that stuff. Thanks to Diggs the Eagles cannot do that same game plan.
  18. Let’s say this team wins 10 games and wins a playoff game but gets bounced in the divisional round. That’s a pretty decent season for a team that was 5-5 on the surface but the out look to me doesn’t change drastically. It’s no different than if the team goes 9-8 and misses the playoffs. McD comes back for 2024 and gets another crack but while I wouldn’t say his seat is hot just yet it certainly is warming up. If in 2024 there is similar playoff struggles I think then the seat is red hot in 2025 and it’s possibly time to move on if there is another year of missing a deep playoff run.
  19. Outside of the Pats game the defense has not been a problem. If the offense can get going this team should win games. Got to win 2 out of the next 3 which is a tall order but if they can do that and take care of the games they are supposed to win (Pats and Chargers) what would get the Bills to 10 wins going into that Fins game which should be in solid contention for wild card and allow that game to be for the division. Allen has had some struggles but I think the play calling has been the primary issue all the individual components have been working in my opinion.
  20. Going to be a tough game away against what is thus far the best team in the league. But the Bills are coming off a massive confidence boosting game with a fresh OC and a defense playing well. The team has a legit chance. Got to come out and command the lead at the half and establish time of possession. Going to come down to a lot of factors and critical plays.
  21. Beane is a very good drafter. This regime is certainly top 10 in the league in terms of drafting. 2018 was a home run draft, beyond landing Josh, Taron Johnson is a stud on defense and Neal is a quality ST player. They also got 5 years of starting caliber play from Edumonds (plus a comp pick) some decent production from H Phillips. 2019-2021 were probably average caliber drafts. 2019 Ed has finally emerged as the dominant player we all wanted, Knox and Singletary were also productive picks. 2020 AJE was a slow burn but he came on strong this season, Bass has been an elite kicker, Gabe and Dane have also produced. 2021 has thus far yielded solid starters in Groot and Brown. Each draft has yielded multiple starters but also had a good share of missed picks (Boogie and Cody Ford being the glaring examples). 2022 and 2023 however are looking to be really good drafts. In 22 they got Cook and Shakir who on offense and Benford and Bernard on defense. Elam also still has plenty of time to turn it around and provide further value. 2023 is looking very good esp given the limited picks. Kincaid and Torrence have been plug and play starters while D Williams has flashed a lot of upside. Shorter is also someone that will get a chance to develop in 2024.
  22. PI should be a spot foul if blatant. The problem is that somewhat incidental contact and collisions on under thrown balls shouldn’t be spot fouls. Similar to how there used to be a 5 yard face mask penalty (for more incidental infractions) and a 15 yard face mask penalty (for more intentional infractions) refs should have some other type of penalty for less egregious PI penalties. Giving refs some additional discretion in PI penalties would greatly help. While on that matter I would also have personal fouls be instantly reviewed by the booth. Both can overturn a call if it’s egregious. These plays happen fast for the refs so helping them out by booth review on those penalties should helps
  23. Success is a hell of a drug so to speak. But Josh looked the part against a tough defense that has always given him fits in recent years. If the Bills hope to do anything this season they are gonna need Josh to play like himself.
  24. Gotta take care of the Pats and Chargers, that gets you to 8 wins at a minimum you need to go 2-2 in the more “difficult” stretch of games which is possible and that gets you to 10-7 which should put you in wild card contention and if one of those wins in the “difficult” stretch comes against the Fins you are in contention for the division. Right now your best bet is to take care of the Eagles which esp away will not be easy but to be the man you gotta beat the man.
  25. Linval Joseph has helped the past few weeks, very underrated addition as he has helped plug up the middle of the run defense.
