AJ Klein Expected to Sign with Bills
billsfan89 replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Klein is a nice depth player, certainly gives the Bills something at MLB. -
A singular spring football league with no direct competition hasn’t worked since the 1980’s. No idea why there is suddenly two spring football leagues. The XFL is actually a decent product so I hope they stick around despite the competition

I love Washington as a prospect but I think he would be a luxury pick for the Bills. I think the Bills would be better off going Oline or WR for more offensive impact at pick 27
-
The Bills definitely need a D.Jones heir apparent/backup. Jones is older and his type of impact run stuffer is critical to the defense.
-
Solid move, he had a nice bounce-back year last year and he seems to be liked in the locker room. Certainly a positive move.

Brandon Beane Set To Double Down on 2022’s Big Disappointments

Very possible either could be displaced by a rookie, likely? No but drafting players high up at those positions does show they aren’t trying to rely on them. -
Brandon Beane Set To Double Down on 2022’s Big Disappointments

I will reserve judgement until the draft is done. Brown and Davis could easily see competition via high draft picks. As far as Oliver I don’t see anything wrong with sticking it out with him in a contract yet esp if they can draft a DT in the mid rounds to develop for a year. -
Edge rushers still available in free agency
billsfan89 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Given the tight cap situation, it would be interesting to see if the Bills can nab a decent vet pass rusher, I wouldn't hate brining back Shaq Lawson as the 4th DE on the roster he was solid last year and will only be 29. But if they can somehow get a more productive vet to help the young guys hold down the front until Von gets back that's huge. -
Wouldn't hate Jack to kick the tires on but Anderson is a headcase with low levels of production that's a hard pass.

I would rather use pick 27 to get a piece on offense to help Josh. The Bills can spend pick 59 or 91 to address MLB and I can live with lesser MLB play. Josh is the franchise and this team needs to invest premium picks in the talent around him. Either a WR or RT should be there at pick 27 that can get the offense another piece it needs to be successful. To put it simply I can live with mediocre MLB play but I don't think this team should be skimping on putting talent around Josh.

I do agree that Brown should get a chance to start but I think they need to have quality competition for him. Brown’s biggest issue has been health he just hasn’t been able to stay healthy. He had back surgery in 2022 off season and he couldn’t practice much well into camp. Then just as he starts to get going in the regular season he gets an ankle injury that costs him some games. Quees is a decent backup but I would like to see another tackle drafted to give the Bills options if Browns health or performance doesn’t add up.

KC still had an elite weapon in Kelce so I just don’t think your logic adds up…

FA Cameron Fleming RT Why don't we go get him?
billsfan89 replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wouldn’t hate the depth move but I do agree with some of the other posters that the front office has a belief in Brown at RT for some reason… -
The Bills need offensive help at 27 either a tackle that can solidify the O-line or a WR that can help take pressure off Diggs and give Josh more options. Campbell would be a great add at 59 but at 27 the Bills need to get Josh more help. 2 out of the top 3 picks including pick 27 should be on the offensive side of the ball.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?

What team can really absorb his contract at this point in free agency? Seriously asking as most teams don't have a lot space. -
NFL Network layoffs begin, ESPN layoffs expected
billsfan89 replied to dpberr's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am sorry to hear that, layoffs happen in all sorts of economic situations thanks to automation. My dad back in 2005 when the US economy was doing well (by traditional metrics like GDP and the stock market) worked for a company that laid off 15% of its workforce because the new machines they bought made it easier to do more work with fewer people. A lot of these tech giants and other companies are cutting staff just due to automation regardless of how the economy is doing or not doing. -
Another way to go. Trade way down and stack up #1 picks in 2024
billsfan89 replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wouldn't mind the Bills trading down from 27 to the mid '30s to pick up some future picks. The Bills can still get a good amount of impact from a player at pick 35ish. Ideally, the Bills could grab a mid and late-round pick in 2023 and a 3rd in 2024. But I don't see the Bills getting a 1st from any team, teams are reluctant to give up future firsts to trade into the late 1st. -
Certainly fixes the defense but this team needs to surround Josh with more talent and make due with less on defense. RT, C and WR need to be addressed in this draft with WR and RT being addressed early. Ideally I would like to get a good WR at pick 27 and a good RT at pick 59. Then go defense at pick 91 and grab a center at pick 130.

If Hopkins not available, then what? We DO need another good WR!
billsfan89 replied to Deadstroke's topic in The Stadium Wall
Very solid list, Evans and Jeudy are the most “realistic” options outside of the Cards coming down on their asking price or cap considerations for Hopkins. That being said I think pick 27 being a WR is the most likely way the Bills try to address WR. -
Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
billsfan89 replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
I remember this coming up when Jefferson started to blow up his rookie year but there is no guarantee that Jefferson would be the same WR in Buffalo that he is in Minnesota. I am paraphrasing this because its been a few years so if this is vague please forgive the poor explanation. Jefferson’s biggest weakness coming out of college was a particular type of route running. That type of route running was something that Adam Thielen was an expert in. Jefferson learned from Thielien in the off-season and camp. Without Thielen it is possible that Jefferson could have developed slower and not been an impact player his first couple of years in the league. -

The Bills can always go WR at pick 27 and address other needs with picks 59 and 91 and use the remaining picks for depth. BBB is wise to not give up too much for D-Hop unless the Cards are willing to eat a significant portion of his cap hit. You can’t give up good draft assets and take on a large cap hit for a 31 year old WR coming off back to back injuries.
