  1. The solution to the QB situation is EJ. Only question is how ready will EJ look in camp? IF EJ looks unpolished and raw I could see them starting Kolb who isn't good but is serviceable. No need to rush EJ if he needs to be coached up. But if EJ looks like he can play and will only improve by playing then he is the teams QB. I have a feeling EJ will be our starter come opening day. Kolb is just there as an option.
  2. I imagine they feel more people would subscribe to NFL Mobile which would help off set the costs. They also will be making the rest back and maybe a profit as people's data usage will skyrocket and they can get fees from it. Throw in the draw to get new customers and I think Verizon shouldn't be trying to get other customers to pay for it. Hopefully... as I am a Verizon customer. And for those thinking about getting NFL Mobile its a good app. But keep in mind the data it uses is crazy esp if you steam video. But keep in mind that its only really useful if you work on Sunday's or can't watch the games on TV. I had it for free when I renewed my contract. I used it when I had work and it was good but if I had off Sunday's I couldn't imagine using the app that much.
  3. I am surprised there was a team worse than the Bills in the Red Zone, third down, and run defense.
  4. You really can't rank a guy accurately till at least 2 if not 3 years in the league. I know the NFL is a win now league but there has to be a sample size large enough to see how good or bad a coach is.
  5. Nix and I am assuming now Whaley went along with that philosophy, picked up Reinhart and Urbik off the scrap heap and Pears was a low level signing. All 3 esp Urbik have played well or decent, so I think that this type of signing is right up their alley. I am not sure if they want him to start but depth was a big issue with the interior line if anything this is to simply address that concern. Like the signing as depth, guy can play center and guard not a bad fit for a team that needed depth there.
  6. Its wait and see with Marrone, its hard to believe that he is the savior or that the players really believe in him without seeing some results in games. Once the team has played 4 games we can start to take the temperature of him and his staff. By the end of the season we can really know what he is made of and by the end of year 2 we will have a sense of if he is really what this team needs. I expect 6-7 wins but I would be really happy with 8 or 9 just getting to .500 or above with a rookie head coach and a QB situation that is either a rookie or a low level vet would be a great foundation to build on.
  7. If your job allowed you to take 6 weeks off to be with a child after they were born wouldn't you take it? Its OTA's Lawson has played in a 3-4 for a long time now I am sure he will be quick to pick up the system. Yes a lot of people don't get to take much time off after having a kid but that doesn't mean they don't want to and that if they weren't afforded the luxury that they wouldn't. People have to stop comparing professional athletes who are at the top of their profession to ordinary people. I hope Branch has a legit excuse or at least some reason. Simply not showing up would be a little concerning since he has been playing in a 4-3 for a long time.
  8. Levitre might have been overpaid but he was/is a good player, I doubt this is anything serious. Hope he does well guy was a trooper for the Bills never forget football is a business take the money while you can get it.
  9. There is also about 5-7 million the Bills could unload this season, there are also a couple of future releases that could ease cap space going forward. I don't see the cap being an issue going forward.
  10. They hopefully will be versatile enough to combat no huddle offenses by changing their attack towards them on the fly.
  11. How about we at least see this rookie class play before we become overly optimistic about what they might be able to accomplish.
  12. Troupe is in his make or break year, he will get a fair shot at making the roster as a back up linemen. After a decent rookie year Troupe was poised to show what he would develop into and he has been hurt the last two years. After a lengthy injury battle hopefully he is healthy he could give the D-line some depth.
  13. I think the article is pointing out that out of the 6 players over 30 a few are likely to be cut thus making the team younger. I suspect at least 2 of those players and up to 4 could get cut. Its more so that a young team could be getting younger due to their older players being on the bubble as oppose to it being a direct movement.
  14. Lindell is a goner, Tjax on the bubble, B.Scott likely gone, but Pears and Freddie should be safe.
  15. Good space eater somewhat stout against the run not a good pass rusher. His biggest knock was that he didn't rush the passer. But the Pats* defense did see a uptick being a pretty good defense against the run as he and Wilfork were a good combination up the middle. If he still wants to play I wouldn't mind bringing him in. Team seems to be pretty thin on the D-line. Dareus, Branch, and K.Williams and Carrington are a good group but I don't expect much from Troup and we could use another big body.
  16. Exactly people seem to always think that if you are not AJ Green or Meagtron then you aren't a number one receiver.
  17. The Bills have just beaten the optimism out of me. I will believe it when I see it.
  18. Should be a strong possibility although its going to depend on how many starts he gets if Marrone holds him out 6 starts its going to be hard to see him winning over a player who played well over the course of a year.
  19. Odds are the guy might still be getting adjusted to being back out there on the field (Remember the college season end 5 months ago). Its also rookie camp who gives a ****.
  20. Easley was a special teams standout in college that might help his chances. I hope he goes through camp healthy guy seems like he has over come a lot of injuries guy deserves a chance to make it.
  21. Bart Scott is still a free agent, wouldn't be a bad guy to bring in as a backup. We are really devoid of depth at MLB, and it helps that he knows the new defensive system.
  22. Brad Smith, Lindell, and T.Jax make the most sense. Out of the three I don't see Brad Smith going anywhere till next season for one reason we have a lot of youth at the skill positions and Smith provides a lot of versatility and experience esp if Marrone would like to do 4 wide sets often. Unless the three young receivers and TJ all show up huge in camp I can see Smith staying but he is certainly on the bubble. Lindell good as gone 3 million saved, T.Jax likely gone 1.75 towards the cap saved. Pears and Smith I think stay but Smith is far from 100%.
  23. The 13 million includes Byrd's franchise tag number.
  24. I think Dareus will at the very least return to where he was towards the end of his rookie year a very good defensive linemen. But what I hope is he breaks out to be a dominant player though. He needs to develop into the anchor for the defensive line, if him and Kyle put together good seasons and Branch and Carrington make solid contributions we could be looking at a really good front 7. My only concern is depth we go 4 deep on the D-line, I would really like to see the Bills bring in a vet NT or DE to add some depth to the D-line. And of course MLB seems like they should at the very least add some depth there a guy like Dansby would be ideal as I think he would be a starter but even a guy like Bart Scott could at least be a backup.
  25. I wouldn't mind it, but I would prefer they didn't just seems like its unnecessary.
