  1. He was right, its preseason and they were playing a team that had never seen or prepared for their defense. The Bills had the ultimate element of surprise and it worked. Not to say the Bills defense won't be effective but that you can't base it on how well it worked in this game.
  2. The Bills have some interesting storylines this year that would make for a good Hard Knocks. But its a moot point seeing as how they would likely never have gone if asked. The Bills are an interesting team in training camp for sure new coach, rookie QB, interesting rookies, Mario Williams non-story and a team looking to win for the first time in a long time. The Bills are at least interesting this year.
  3. I would like to see how good Easley preforms against real competition not the Colts third string and scrubs. B.Smith has shown that he is a pretty capable offensive player. Smith also offers a good chance to run some gadget plays and Wildcat type formations. I think it might be hard to gut that versatile player until we see Easley really preform well under better conditions. Also even if Easley preforms lights out against better competition its still possible that they might want to keep Smith because they like versatility.
  4. I could see this team carrying 7 receivers if Easley keeps up this type of production. It really wouldn't surprise me to see Brad Smith gone. But B.Smith could stay as I think they would like a veteran hand at WR who gives them a lot of trick play flexibility. Stevie Woods Graham Goodwin B.Smith Rodgers Easley It would be hard to say which one of those guys would be cut
  5. I would like to see this kid against at the very least second stringers. I am not going to get excited about a guy playing against the third stringers and camp fodder of a low level NFL defense. For now its good that he looked good but lets not drum up the cut Kolb bandwagon for a guy beating up on low level competition.
  6. Bills named their price with this guy and they didn't want to go over that amount and it was good they did, I would say it panned out for the Bills but Anderson (the guy they paid out the money that theoretically would have been his) is no longer on the roster. The Bills ended up choosing between a giant douche and a turd sandwich.
  7. Its likely they don't want to show too much in the pre-season. You are going to lose the element of surprise if you let it all hang out so to speak.
  8. No it seems like they need him as a backup QB. He is a veteran hand and as a backup you could do a lot worse. EJ is likely going to start but I think having a veteran backup would be good for EJ.
  9. Its also pre-season so who cares how the games are scheduled.
  10. Should play the first half even beating up on scrubs and backups should give him a lot of confidence if not it will give him a lot to correct. I think they will definitely play him a full quarter but something tells me they will pull him early in the second.
  11. D.Jones will always have a great moment in Bills history as he was instrumental in ending out losing streak against the Pats* a couple of years ago. He had 101 yards on 5 catches that game and he flashed potiental at times the past couple of years. I wish the guy all the best. D.Jones never struck me as a guy that could be a top 2 WR and his skills didn't translate that well to the slot. But I always thought his ceiling was a 4th WR that could make a big play here and there
  12. Lets see exactly how this pans out on the field, a lot of teams are building with speed and a big armed QB. A lot of teams are going with blitzing defenses that can get a lot of pressure up front and confuse teams. Its just the nature of the game, but for once I am glad to see the Bills taking a modern approach.
  13. If I am going bold I am going bold. Da'rick Rodgers leads the team in receiving yards. The Defense finishes in the top 11 in sacks Nigel Brandham leads the team in tackles Byrd's holdout extends into the season. OK the first two are pretty bold but the other ones aren't
  14. Agreed, he didn't have to leave a tip. Granted he probably could have left a tip of 10 or 20$ because !@#$ it why not. But its take out 3$ to put food in a bag is more than enough. I have to side with the millionaire on this one and I am about as violently pro-tipping as anyone but take out isn't the same as someone serving you food. Most places I got to basically have the host/hostesses handle the To Go. Basically they just bag it up and hand it to you. I like to leave a small tip about 5 or 10% (10 if its a big pain in the ass order) just to thank them for their extra effort. I don't order To Go from many places but the few times I have it hasn't seemed like they had a special staff for it likely just put on two hosts instead of one to handle the extra orders.
  15. I remember this kid's faux 40 time being a story. Other than that, doesn't hurt to have another body out there esp a guy with some speed.
  16. IF Woods and the younger guys can step up and become legit outside threats I see this working out wonderfully. But while I think its possible that Stevie will work almost exclusively out of the slot, but I think Stevie will spend some time working the outside.
  17. Can't wait till Dareus takes the field and starts destroying people. The guy looked like a beast his first year but regressed his second year but I chalk that up to a combo of personal issues and just a outdated and terrible defensive scheme. The team has a defensive scheme that is much more modern and he seems to be in the right place mentally. I think we see the leap we all thought he would make last season.
  18. I think that its clear that this team (Which has cap space to sign a mid level guy) needs to start looking at external guard options. Brandon Moore is still out there and I think there are a few other options that have starting experience. The team can't have holes on the offensive line with a rookie QB. Seems like the longer camp goes on the clearer it becomes that we don't have the starting LG on the roster.
  19. Good comparison. But remember that what is in question is Rodgers ability to stay on the field due to his off the field antics. I always think you can take on one guy who has talent but a bit of a knucklehead now and again. You don't want a locker room full of guys like that but if you got a good locker room you can take on one guy in exchange for talent at a good value.
  20. Good for him, dude deserved a shot to continue his career. He was a pretty decent linebacker his first year here. Then he seemed to fall back the past season. I still think he could play some valuable snaps as a backup, although I think his days as a starter are gone.
  21. They don't, its a glorified exhibition game no need to try to add some fake legitimacy. Even if you wanted to make the game matter what would you do? What would you attach to it that would make a difference? The players go through a full training camp, preseason, 16 regular season games, and playoff games. Why would they want to go all out during the pro-bowl? Why risk the injury why put your body one more game? Just make it a complete exhibition for the the bye week of the superbowl.
  22. This team is still a year away, but for once you at least have some exciting talent and direction to look at. By the end of the season we will either be talking about the teams optimistic direction or another mess
  23. You don't want to shell shock a QB, yes Kolb stinks but if EJ isn't ready they shouldn't rush him in to a bad situation that won't work out.
  24. I can't wait till we get to at the very least pre-season games, these non-stories are frustrating
  25. My concern went from .5 out of 10 to now a 4 out of 10. Weird injury that is getting serious evaluation? Not uber concerned but it is a concern that is growing. Hopefully its just a weird thing that resolves its self soon.
