  1. The market for corners is a really good one. Revis getting traded or possibly cut, all sorts of vet corners who are still pretty decent getting cut. Good corners hitting the market on top of all that. Its definitely a buyers market that the Bills should be in on. They are a little thin at corner and there is no need to burn a pick on a corner when you have a market filled with them.
  2. He is a very versatile player seems like he played a lot of DT and DE for the Vikings he wasn't put into a pass rushing situation due to playing behind Jared Allen. I saw the contract and thought the same thing that this was a gross overpay, I talked to a couple of die hard Viking fans I know and they said he is a very good player but that his stats were not indicative of his play.
  3. The guy is a big name as he use to be a top 5 guard a couple of seasons ago but injuries the last two seasons have slowed him down. Wouldn't mind bringing him in as a backup but I would hardly want him as the solution to LG. Better free agent options available
  4. Its not uber surprising, seems like Byrd just wants the biggest payday and if he can get that from the Bills then that's where he would play.
  5. I started doing yoga a few months ago and I can honestly say its a great core workout and a great place to pick up chicks. Good for Gilmore to add it to his regimen hopefully he stays healthy.
  6. They are decent looking but I think they are trying a little too hard. I prefer simpler uni designs but as far as the more complex designs go this one is pretty good.
  7. I thought Arraon Maybin was going to be terrible the minute the pick happened.
  8. I wouldn't trade up to take him even if the cost was just the Bills 1st and 2nd round picks. Odds are the Bills won't be huge movers and shakers in free agency so they need to fill needs in the draft. As much as I like Clowney (If I Was the Texans I Would draft him 1st overall, mainly because I Don't see any other stand out player) he doesn't come without a lot of serious risks (Every draft pick does but he has more than you want from a top 5 pick).
  9. Only reason why I wouldn't want a guard in the draft is because we should be able to get a guard in free agency with mid level money. If we spent the 9th overall pick on a RT I would be fine with that, you got a young QB who needs protection and its a hard position to find. But with the second round pick we should add a WR or Tight End instead of a guard which could be found in free agency.
  10. The cost of living doesn't double every 10 years if you calculate inflation for 2.6 million in 1986 to 2013 dollars then it would be about 5.6 million. Even the most generous inflation rates wouldn't put it about 8 million. http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl?cost1=2%2C600%2C000.00&year1=1986&year2=2013
  11. Pettine's defense was much improved from previous seasons. But there had to be changes coming no matter what, the team was so porous against the run at times (And susceptible against the pass at times too, although that was due more so to injuries) that there had to be some changes coming.
  12. All those uni designs look terrible, its trying too hard there is just too much going on, its a uniform you don't need to reinvent the wheel with it.
  13. If I had to make a bold prediction I would say that the Bills draft a QB in the first two rounds. I am sure if the right guy fell to them at the right pick they might take a QB. Obviously the team is going to bring in a vet backup but I wouldn't be shocked to see a high draft pick be spent on QB.
  14. They have to resolve the Byrd issue once and for all. Either sign him to a long term extension or franchise him and trade him. They can't afford to have this issue linger like it did last season.
  15. Dire needs is relative, but I would say Tight End, OLB, CB and LG are some pretty heavy areas of need. The team could also use upgrades at WR, RT, and possibly FS if Byrd is traded or allowed to walk.
  16. I wouldn't put it past the team to go OT round 1. You have a young QB that could use better protection, and while Glenn, Wood, and Urbik are very good to solid the LG and RT spots for sure could use upgrades. What position they pick is going to change based on who is available and what the Bills do in free agency.
  17. Bills need to go after a guard and a corner in free agency. Its a good class of free agents in both positions. Bills could get solid up grades with mid level guys at both positions (Since the Bills usually don't get upper tier free agents). In the draft they should go after a Tight end and a RT (Although if better players are at other positions of need it wouldn't hurt to go after others). Ideally they need to fills some gaps on defense and find a guard in free agency then draft some offensive talent around EJ in the draft. They also need to keep Thad as the third string QB and find a quality backup for EJ. A good veteran teaching presence who could manage the team for a few games if EJ went down.
  18. Bring in Flynn keep Tuel as a backup for one more week and then cut Tuel once EJ and or Thad are good to play.
  19. The Chiefs play good D and they don't turn the ball over, throw in a soft schedule and that's how they are undefeated. Are they as good as their record indicates? Probably not, but when you have a solid defense and you don't turn the ball over you are going to win a lot of games. The Bills at home could beat them if they don't turn the ball over.
  20. The defense looks competent, its far from perfect but it looks way better than it did last year. The offense has left the defense out to dry and its at times held up. The defense is also creating turnovers and getting sacks at a rate that they weren't last year. Last years D was abysmal it never really looked like a NFL defense, this years D looks and is playing much better.
  21. Thad will at least start next week if he shows less than stellar play I think then you could maybe think about giving Flynn some burn, I hope EJ gets back soon as I think choosing between a grab bag of back ups isn't very enticing.
  22. Wasn't it Freeman who passed on us, granted I don't think many QB's walking into that situation would have been successful. Very little time to master the playbook and get acquainted with the team.
  23. If the secondary gets healthy and plays better I think they might only be a piece or two (Depending on what they do with Byrd) away from having an elite top 5 defense. The secondary needs another piece or two and maybe the front seven needs another piece. But its coming together quickly for sure. Sacks and turnovers are key in the modern defensive game and the Bills are excelling at that.
  24. The big difference between Lewis and Fitz in my opinion is that Lewis plays within himself more. He knows his limitations and doesn't try to wing the ball around the field in a wild attempt to win the game. Although Thad's ability to play more conservative comes from the defense being much better, the few years Fitz was here he never played with a half way decent defense.
  25. Obviously the team needed to trade down, too many holes on the roster. But lets say they didn't like any of the QB's in the draft, and they restructured Fitz or got a more legit QB option in free agency/trade. At pick 16 I would have taken Tyler Efiert or Kyle Long, both players fill a huge hole on the offense.
