  1. I wonder how he’s going to make the roster? The Bills usually carry 9 offensive linemen. Dawkins Edwards McGovern Torrence Brown That is right now the starting five. Then you look at the likely reserves and you have the following 4. Van Pran Collins Van Denmark Alec Anderson That takes you to 9 offensive linemen. Unless there is a camp/pre-season injury I think in order to keep Grabel on the 53 they are going to have to carry a 10th offensive linemen which they have done before but isn’t what they usually do. Overall I would say that if Collins is healthy they will likely have Grabel be on the path to “red shirt” the season. Every other rookie besides the international pathway prospect who’s gonna have a special PS slot has a space on the roster. So if they gotta “stash” a guy for a year it’s likely going to be Grabel in my opinion.
  2. I agree if I were running the draft I would have gone with Malik Washington at that pick. BUT the team clearly after adding Coleman either has one of two philosophies. One they simply like what they had at WR after drafting Coleman or two they have a vet WR addition (maybe a Tyler Boyd or OBJ not like an Aiyuk) so after adding Coleman and a vet they don’t have room for a second pick.
  3. Didn’t Coleman run a 4.51 at his pro day? He’s clearly playing at least a bit faster than his 4.61 40 time.
  4. Who cares? Stop worrying about KC the Bills made the best decision for themselves
  5. Where’s the massive step back? WR is the only place of considerable concern on the roster. Not saying I am not concerned about WR but the rest of the roster is as good as it was heading into last season if not better knowing Spencer Brown and Bernard are good players I don’t know where fans get this idea of a draft board. There’s 32 different teams with 32 different draft boards clearly the Bills had Coleman a lot higher than the 8th WR and given that this is one of the top 5-7 best drafting teams I think they get more credit than media pundits
  6. It’s not like the Beane front office hasn’t made any good draft picks since 2018? You have a reasonable case as a fan to feel like the front office didn’t do enough at WR. I am still concerned about it but they have free agent and possibly trade options once Tre’s money hits. But you really don’t have a case that the front office hasn’t been one of the best front offices in the league since 2017. The past two drafts in 2022 and 2023 are looking like really good drafts. 2022 is looking like it has produced 4 starters in Benford, Bernard, Cook and Shakir (and Elam could still pan out) and 2023 produced 2 plug and play starters in Kincaid and Torrence while adding a nice depth piece in Dorian Williams and Shorter could end up being a role player. Even the “weaker” drafts from 2019-2021 all still produced multiple starters and some serviceable role players. That’s in addition to solid roster moves in free agency and trades. Heck this past season they made two critical in season acquisitions in Douglas and Joseph that helped the defense a lot. You can be upset but man these hyperbolic takes are just awful
  7. They also got competent play from Levi Wallace a UDFA.
  8. I think there is like one of two reasons they didn’t take a second WR. One is they must like Shorter and given that they only carry 5 WR’s they felt with Coleman added they wouldn’t have room for a 6th WR. There could also be a plan to bring in a vet to add to the mix once Tre’s money is free. Now I am not talking about a big trade like Higgins or Aiyuk. But OBJ, Tyler Boyd, Michael Thomas, Hunter Renfrow and MVS are all free agents and shouldn’t cost too much. If you plan on adding a vet like MVS or Boyd then you simply don’t have space for two draft picks at WR.
  9. A draft class one of the best drafts I think he’s had at least on paper. Beane accomplished 3 things that were critical. 1- He filled the remaining critical starting roles by adding a WR, S and a C. 2- He filled key depth needs at RB, DT, DE, LB, OT and CB. 3- He boosted the 2025 draft capital adding a second 4th rounder to the teams capital. The team is deeper and better frontline while also adding an asset that can help down the line either facilitating a trade at the deadline or in the 2025 draft. As a fan am I still concerned about the WR group even after the Coleman addition? Yes, I still think there’s concern at WR. But I also leave the draft a lot less concerned about the safety and the offensive line and I also leave less concerned about the depth of the team which I think has been improved. I know reaction to the draft is mixed but this is going to be a solid draft. I think they get 2-3 consistent starters and 3 role players at minimum.
  10. Rapp could start but he left a lot to be desired so brining in a quality safety to compete with him is a good move/
  11. I thought with Milano and Bernard as the starters and Dorian Williams and the vet LB they signed from Philly and Spector the Bills were good at LB. But I think they likely saw how these smaller quicker guys may be more injury prone so having depth is critical. I think they will either carry 6 or cut Spector and try to “sneak” Spector on the PS.
  12. I think VPG is going to get a chance to start which I like as I thought he was a complete steal. I think with this picks it’s going to end up with him getting the Justin Shorter treatment and redshirting the season so to speak. The Bills could carry 10 offensive line players but they usually carry 9 so unless he blows the Bills out of the water I think he’s going to be stuck on IR like Shorter.
  13. The Bills after their top 4 corners don’t have too much competition and they usually carry 6 corners with Lewis listing as a safety who can play corner in a pinch. So Hardy will likely slot in as the 5th corner and primary Taron backup. I think they probably like Ingram as the other backup boundary CB.
  14. Diggs outside of the Fins game and maybe one other game was not putting up good numbers. But Diggs was still commanding a lot of attention from defenses as they were still treating him like a threat. So it’s going to be interesting to see the offense function without his WR1 presence and attention.
  15. Coleman was a nice addition but he’s still a rookie and not a “Blue Chip” top 5-10 pick either. So it’s going to be hard to expect him to have a huge impact. If they can get him to 70-80 targets and be efficient with those targets I think that’s a good scenario for him. Shorter is coming in off his “red shirt” season he’s gonna have a chance to be the WR4 but you can’t expect much grand levels of production from him. Hollins is a nice Sherfield/Kumerow ST WR5 type guy. Samuel is a nice slot receiver who can flex outside and Shakir is a really solid WR2 option whose also going to split slot and outside snaps. But are the Bills WR’s “good enough” I would say that they aren’t tragic esp with the addition of Coleman but there is a large concern they may be short on firepower. Going to have to see if they can get Kincaid and Shakir to take on bigger roles and see where it goes from there.
  16. They need depth a Nickel corner nice pick
  17. Beane said they like him at both G/C which leads me to think he’s gonna push Edwards for a starting so spot
  18. I think this is the equivalent of when NBA teams don’t have room for a late first round pick to get minutes so they take a player whose going to play overseas for the next 2 years. I think the Bills are hoping to slot him into that extra PS slot for international players
  19. Pretty highly regarded prospect most had him going in the 5th or 6th round so decent value. Likely the 10th offensive linemen
  20. Could be a medical issue. Usually when guys fall that’s often the cause
  21. I’m curious as to why Rice is falling so hard. I thought he would be a 4-5th round pick but he’s falling into the mid 6th. There has to be a medical or something out on him
  22. He may or may not start but I think he’s going to get a chance to start. Likely in camp I think he’s going to get 33% of the starting team snaps at center early on to see what they have in him and if he looks the part that’s going to lead to more snaps.
  23. Fins did a good job in getting Washington but as long as Tua’s the QB I am not worried about the Fins.
  24. Seems like a balanced draft. Their first pick was on offense. Their next two picks were defense and then their next two picks were offense. The last two picks have been defense. 3 offense 4 defense and considering the Bills had more depth needs on Defense not shocking to see them go there
  25. Post June 1st once Tre’s money hits they will have some options via free agency at WR and DE. At WR OBJ and Tyler Boyd are out on the market. At DE Yannick and Ogbah are available as are old Bills favorites Jerry Hughes and Shaq Lawson. I am not sure how they play it but if the Bills want more talent free agents are out there
