Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown. (j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart. (k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.

What I find disturbing is the continued denial that racism no longer exists. How many times have you heard someone say "I'm not a racist, but....". We all know people that are racist, most are closet racists, political correctness has made racism less in your face. I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine about racism, one of his comments was that "black people should just get over it". He doesn't view himself as racist. The two examples that have been given in other tank threads are the Colts, but they didn't plan Payton's injury, without which the tank never happens and how has it worked out? When I was in my early twenties I tended bar in NYC, I worked with a big Irish American guy named Bill, who was ten years my senior. A group of people came in after work. Bill walks over to a woman in that group and says "what will it be doll?". She says "excuse me but I'm a Federal Court Judge, I've worked hard to get here, please don't address me as doll".
