as far as effecting the outcome of a game..... a punter averages only 5 punts a game. a fg kicker averages only 3 field goal attempts a game (might go up to 5 if 100% from 60). an offensive player (wr or rb) is on the field for 50-60 plays a game. i think the robo wr or rb would have a far greater impact.

Bills/Toronto series extended 5 years
papazoid replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
+25 year season ticket holder here. bills season ticket packages are for regular and preseason games played ONLY at the ralph. there is no cost, obligation, "option" or preferred status given to season ticket holders for games played in toronto. we do receive information on how to obtain toronto tix. in the current 5 year deal with toronto there was one regular season game in each year and one pre-season game in years 1,3 & 5. although the preseason game for year 5 (this year) was given back. so there are 9 home games this year (7 reg & 2 pre)in the package. many folks complain about the preseason tix costing the same as the regular season. sometimes i have a hard time trying to give away preseason games for free. i'd say they are worth about $10 bux each, while i have sold my early regular season game tix using the nfl ticket exchange for $250 each. obviously season ticket packages are cheaper with one less home game. having said that, it gets convoluted because some years ticket prices go up and other years they stay the same. this year "some" sections actually went down quite a bit. the tops family section went from $40 down to $30 per game (25% drop) and the rockpile section went from $40 down to $25 per game (37% drop). i sit in section 110,my price this year stayed the same as last year. as a season ticket holder, i pay $80 per game (9 games) and the "window" price is $90 per game. even tho the first couple regular season games have sold out of individual tix, the bills have held back a block of tix to sell as complete season tickets. -

perfect examples of two meddling owners....especially snyder. just spending money is not the key to success. you have to be smart. their reckless spending is really going to hurt them going forward for a year or two. heck, just look at the top 5 highest payrolls in MLB. as of yesterday the top 4 (NYY,PHI,BOS & LAA) were all in last place and the 5th DET is struggling.

Bills/Toronto series extended 5 years
papazoid replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
title should say bills/toronto series "EXPECTED" to extend 5 years. The NFL’s International Committee on Tuesday morning in Atlanta approved the Bills’ intention to extend its deal with the Rogers Centre, as we first reported here earlier this afternoon. While a final agreement has not yet been reached between the Bills and Rogers Media, the source said the term will be for five years, the two sides are “very close,” and “you can probably expect an announcement in the coming weeks.” REGIONALIZATION is the key to keeping the name "BUFFALO" in front of BILLS. with the important exception of losing the home field advantage of crowd noise to what is essentially a nuetral site, this is all good. besides, based on my +25 years of going to games, prior to the installation of the so called dogout suites in the top of the lower bowl, the crowd noise at 80,000 was deafening. now at 72,000 it is just loud. while december games are a wimper. folks should embrace our friends from southern ontario, rochester, erie pa etc.... with toronto and regionalization we are the 4th largest NFL market. without regionalization we will be the 2nd largest NFL market... when the bills relocate to L.A. -
Winslow has been one of Tampa Bay's best offensive players since being acquired from Cleveland in a trade three years ago. He had 77 receptions for 884 yards and five touchdowns in 2009, 66 catches for 730 yards and five TDs in 2010 and 75 receptions for 763 yards and two TDs in 2011. Winslow, despite a history of injuries and undergoing several knee surgeries during his career, appeared in every game over the past three seasons for Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay received a conditional 2013 draft pick in the deal, which a source told ESPN.com's Mike Sando is a seventh-rounder that can elevate to sixth-round choice. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7957761/tampa-bay-buccaneers-ship-kellen-winslow-seattle-seahawks-sign-dallas-clark

Should Buddy Nix try and trade for Drew Brees?
papazoid replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
brees isn't going anywhere...period !! brees wants to be the HIGHEST paid QB in the league, he is 33 years old.....the saints will save money by paying him the average of the top 5 players at his position(franchise tag value). they could also franchise tag him again next year for a 20% premium over this years franchise tag value and still save money without the long term commitment and/or crazy upfront guaranteed money of a long term deal. i actually hope they jerk him around....he is a phony. the statements he has made during the lockout, statements about retired players, his pretending he knew nothing of bounty gate when he is a leader of the players union....i accept his talent on the field is superstar status....but in my opinion he is a phony piece of chit. -
the difference in the "moneyline" is the "vig"....this is how the bookie makes their money. it's probably easier to explain in a straight bet first. most straight bets are 11 to 10 odds. meaning you give vegas $110 to win $100, if you win the bet you get back $210. lets say the bills are 3 point favorites against an opponent. so, in a perfect world vegas wants to collect or have wagers placed on both teams for the same exact amount of money. say they collect $11 million on each team for a total of $22 million. they will pay out $10 million plus the original $11 mil for a total of $21 mil to the winner. they collected $22 mil and paid out $21 mil and will profit $1 mil NO MATTER WHO WINS. if action on one team gets lopsided, that is when they change the spread to influence money towards the other team, with the goal of having the same exact money bet on both teams. same theory applies to the over under bets for total wins, except there is no plus or minus 3 points to even things out. so they use a money line where the "vig" (bookies profit) is derived by the difference in the money spread of 140 to 100 and 100 to 100. if they made it even odds , no matter the outcome, there would be no "vig. in your sportsbetting.com scenario you probably need to lay $120 to win $100.

if you put down $140 on +6.5 wins and buffalo wins 7 or more games, you win $100 AND you get your $140 back for a total of $240. if you put down $100 on -6.5 wins and buffalo wins 6 or less games, you win $100 AND you get your $100 back for a total of $200.

Vilma wrote on his Twitter account that, "As I've said before..I NEVER PAID, NOR INTENDED TO PAY ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY, TO ANY PLAYER FOR INTENTIONALLY HURTING AN OPPONENT." the key words are "INTENTIONALLY HURTING AN OPPONENT"......he is NOT denying he was a part of a "bounty" system.

amen...amen.... with Toronto the bills are the 4th largest nfl market.... without Toronto the bills will be the 2nd largest market, once they relocate to L.A. face it, buffalo on its own can NOT support an NFL franchise.... REGIONALIZATION is the key !!....and our good friends from Canada are a big part of keeping the name BUFFALO in front of the Bills.

WELL DESERVED !! .....congrats and thank you bill polian.

The Carolina Panthers have agreed to a four-year, $12.58 million guaranteed deal with first-round pick Luke Kuechly, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Kuechly, the ninth overall pick out of Boston College, is the highest first-round pick to reach a deal. The Panthers have an option for a fifth year in Kuechly's deal because of his place in the draft. this should make it easier for the bills to sign Gilmore as he was selected next. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7917339/source-carolina-panthers-ninth-pick-luke-kuechly-agree-4-year-1258m-deal
