  1. are you ready for some football ? The NFL announced today that the Giants, in the traditional role of the Super Bowl champions, will host the first game of the season at MetLife Stadium, and they’ll do it against the Cowboys on Wednesday, September 5, on NBC. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/27/cowboys-at-giants-on-nbc-to-open-2012-nfl-season/
  2. that confirms no trade down....laffin.
  3. Had the Bills signed Meachem... would they still have signed Anderson ? i think not......so it worked out for the better.
  4. i prefer buddy stays at #10......but if he did trade down...no farther than 15-16.
  5. the collective brain power of TBD is far superior to any one man.....
  6. Shockey wants action from league: Shockey has vehemently denied being the whistleblower. And now he wants something to be done about the potential damage to his prospects for getting another job. “Is the league going to come down on their own people when someone does something so wrong and outrageous?” Shockey told Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports. “There should be a standard for punishment, like getting suspended or fined or losing your job. If I say something about officials, the league fines me.” Shockey said he has been contacted by multiple lawyers about possibly filing suit, and that he has heard nothing from the league. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/23/shockey-wants-action-from-league/
  7. i assume the Mods could easily tell through matching "same house" ISP addy.
  8. look what the jets coaches did for Maybin's career.... just think what they can do for Tebow. heck, i hear jets players already have a bounty on sanchez for training camp.
  9. Senate to hold hearing on bounties: WASHINGTON -- The Senate wants to grill the NFL about bounties. And the NBA, NHL, NCAA and Major League Baseball are invited, too. Sen. Dick Durbin is setting up a Judiciary Committee hearing about bounties in professional football and other major sports in the wake of news that New Orleans Saints players received extra cash for hits that hurt particular opponents. The assistant Senate majority leader, an Illinois Democrat, said Thursday he wants to examine whether federal law should make such bounty systems a crime. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7722853/new-orleans-saints-senator-dick-durbin-sets-hearing-bounties-nfl complete waste of taxpayer money. shouldn't they be working on creating jobs and balancing the budget.
  10. i kinda like/agree with the first 10 picks: 1. Colts: Robert Griffin III, quarterback, Baylor. In an upset, the Colts opt for the most gifted quarterback prospect in the draft. 2. Redskins: Andrew Luck, quarterback, Stanford. Mike Shanahan settles for a still-elite prospect at the game’s premier position. 3. Vikings: Matt Kalil, tackle, USC. Left tackle is Minnesota’s greatest need, and Kalil is a top-three talent in the draft. 4. Browns: Morris Claiborne, cornerback, LSU. The Browns could reach for offense, but Claiborne is the best overall prospect left. 5. Bucs: Trent Richardson, running back, Alabama. LeGarrette Blount alone isn’t going to cut it for Greg Schiano’s run-minded approach. 6. Rams: Justin Blackmon, wide receiver, Oklahoma State. The new regime wants its top wideout’s bread and butter to be run-after-catch skills. 7. Jaguars: Melvin Ingram, defensive end, South Carolina. Able to play anywhere on the line, Ingram is the draft’s most versatile pass rusher. 8. Dolphins: Ryan Tannehill, quarterback Texas A&M. After whiffing on free agent passers, the Fins reunite Tannehill with Mike Sherman. 9. Panthers: Quinton Coples, defensive end, North Carolina. Coples would team with Charles Johnson to give Carolina a dominant end tandem. 10. Bills: Riley Reiff, tackle, Iowa. The Bills were free agency “winners,” but they still need help on the offensive line. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/22/2012-mock-draft-take-one/
  11. the new england crime is not even close to the severity of the saints crime... the saints intent was to INJURE fellow players....the term "cart-offs" is disgustingly egregious. as far as new england goes, the "stealing of signs" is perfectly legal, i can write down your signals or get a lip reader. the "video recording" of stealing signs is what is illegal. it's a stupid rule. they even allow photographs of alignments during the game to be reviewed by the players during the game.
  12. 75% BPA / 25% need lets take an extreme example.....lets say for some crazy reason Trent Richardson is still on the board at #10. i'm NOT picking him, we are set at RB. lets go the other way......say they come off the board EXACTLY in the order i have them. i'm NOT picking Kuechly. if the bills roster was as it is today.....i would pick Reiff.
  13. based strictly on TALENT: #1- RG III #2- Andrew Luck #3- Matt Kalil #4- Morris Claiborne #5- Trent Richardson #6- Justin Blackmon #7- Melvin Ingram #8- David Decastro #9- Ryan Tannehill #10- Luke Kuechly #11- Michael Floyd #12- Riley Reiff #13- Janoris Jenkins #14- Quinton Coples #15- Jonathan Martin #16- Devon Still #17- Mark Barron #18- Dre Kirkpatrick #19- Michael Brockers #20- Courtney Upshaw
  14. while you are probably correct that neither will be cut....they both should be. keep getting conflicting details on merrimans contract.... but, merriman who cant stay healthy has $500,000 of dead money according to the link below... and troup, who just plain sucks would cost $1,000,000 of dead money. http://www.nyjetscap.com/Bills/bills2012.php
  15. players and coaches from the saints were investigated previously, told to stop and they all continued. “Clearly, we were lied to,” Goodell said. “We investigated this back in 2010, we were told it was not happening, it continued for another two years until we got credible evidence late in the 2011 season and we were able to identify significant information that verified from multiple sources that this was going on for a three-year period.” http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/21/roger-goodell-stands-by-saints-suspensions-we-were-lied-to/
  16. So, of the 17, which 8 would you cut? i would keep 6 (3 DE's & 3 DT's )and cut the rest. i just freed up + $20 mil/yr in cap. go sign 3 more $7 mil/yr players. DEs Mark Anderson KEEP Danny Batten who ? isn't he a LB Lionel Dotson who ? Robert Eddins who ? Spencer Johnson CUT Chris Kelsay CUT Shawne Marriman CUT Kyle Moore who ? Mario Williams KEEP Alex Carrington KEEP (only cause he's cheap). DTs Marcell Dareus KEEP Dwan Edwards CUT Jarron Gilbert who ? Kellen Heard KEEP Jay Ross who ? Torell Troup CUT Kyle Williams KEEP
  17. taking this in another direction..... apparently Warren Sapp has outed the original "snitch" as Jeremy Shockey.....which PFT says is wrong.... but, everyone in the "snitches get stitches" crowd...like warren sapp and roddy white, just to name a few.....are just as bad as Greg Williams, Shawn Peyton and all the players who participated in the bounty. players worried about their own safety is a joke.... wether shockey did it or not, he's screwed, he's a free agent and will not be picked up. he is toxic. i hope shockey sues sapp for lost wages, defamation...etc..

  19. the bills sign not one, but TWO pass rushers...... i'm really starting to worry about that Mayans 2012 prediction thing...
  20. greg is probably looking at 2 years before he can seek reinstatement.
  21. Per a league source, Sean Payton has been suspended for the full year. Gregg Williams has been suspended indefinitely. Mickey Loomis has been suspended for eight game. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/21/goodell-lowers-boom-on-the-saints/
  22. Broncos “working hard” to re-sign Brodrick Bunkley http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/20/broncos-working-hard-to-re-sign-brodrick-bunkley/
  23. Linebacker Patrick Willis wowed scouts with a 4.37 40-yard dash during Mississippi's Pro Day.
  24. tim is running out of places to start.... his best fit would be with a team that already has a running QB.....like philly or carolina.....or even a team with a coach who knows how to use a running QB...like buffalo's chan gailey.
