On ESPN Tuesday night, draft analyst Todd McShay suggested Barron as a sneaky option for the Bills because he can match up in pass coverage with division-rival tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. Former Colts president Bill Polian shot McShay down, referring to Barron as a “box safety” who plugs the run but struggles in coverage. i trust polian alot more than mcshay.... heres a video of Barron vs LSU: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmCuQt-sryE

More than a third of safeties selected early have made the trip to the Pro Bowl on more than one occasion. Given this track record, the teams taking a look at Alabama safety Mark Barron should feel good about his future. While the sample sizes aren't huge for interior offensive linemen, those who have been good enough to warrant selection in the first round over the last 10 years have generally not disappointed. That's a strong indicator for teams eyeing players at these positions with first-round grades this year such as Stanford guard David DeCastro, Georgia guard Cordy Glenn and Wisconsin center Peter Konz. Here are first-round picks from the last 10 years who made more than one Pro Bowl appearance: Quarterbacks: 6 of 30 = 20 percent Running Backs: 4 of 27 = 14.8 percent Wide Receivers: 4 of 37 = 10.8 percent Tight Ends: 1 of 13 = 7.6 percent Offensive Tackles: 5 of 37 = 13.5 percent Centers: 2 of 7 = 28.5 percent Guards: 3 of 7 = 42.8 percent Defensive Ends: 4 of 41 = 9.7 percent Defensive Tackles: 6 of 33 = 18.1 percent Linebackers: 8 of 32 = 25.0 percent Cornerbacks: 6 of 39 = 15.3 percent Safeties: 6 of 16 = 37.5 percent Read more: http://aol.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2012-04-22/nfl-draft-2012-first-round-disappointments#ixzz1ssq8qFIE

"self control".....if a person doesn't have enough self control ....then maybe they dont study the playbook so hard...or don't control their weight.....etc.... or go on to commit more serious infractions....it's a huge red flag. -

The Kansas City Chiefs have the 11th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and general manager Scott Pioli couldn't be more optimistic about it. That's not necessarily because of who the team is going to select with that pick, but also the financial implications of it as well. Future financial obligations makes the draft slot unique in comparison to the 10 picks that precede it. "There are some other elements to this whole thing ... Picks 1 through 10 have the value in the fifth-year option being the transition number, which is the average of the top-10 contracts of that player's position in the league," Pioli explained. "Picks 11 through 32, the fifth-year option number is based on the salary average of the third through 25th (players at the position). "So the difference between pick No. 10 and pick No. 11, in terms of what that fifth year (salary) is, is a dramatic difference. There's going to be a different mindset and different thinking, I believe, with a lot of picks and people thinking about trades." http://kansascity.sbnation.com/kansas-city-chiefs/2012/4/17/2954526/nfl-draft-2012-scott-pioli-value-11th-pick Fifth-year contract formula could push Tannehill out of top 10: Under the new CBA, a team may sign its first-round pick to a four-year contract with an option for a fifth year. The salary for the fifth year is based on a formula that hinges on whether the player is picked in the top 10 or the next 22. For the top 10, the salary is determined by calculating the average of the 10 highest-paid players at the pick’s position in the prior season. For the next 22, the number is determined by calculating the average salary of the third-highest paid player at the position through the 25th highest paid player at the position in the prior season. It’s a potentially huge difference, especially at the quarterback position. And, by 2016, it could be a gigantic number for Tannehill, given that the 10 highest-paid quarterbacks make considerably more money than No. 3 through No. 25 on the cap-number list. And so, after Tannehill’s fourth season in the NFL, a team that takes him in the top 10 would have to be ready to give him elite quarterback money in year five, regardless of whether he’s playing at an elite level. Complicating matters is the possibility that Tannehill, a converted receiver, will need a year or two on the bench before being ready to play, giving a top-10 team even less time to assess whether Tannehill deserves top-10 quarterback money for 2016. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/04/20/fifth-year-contract-formula-could-push-tannehill-out-of-top-10/ -
According to NFL Network insider Jason LaCanfora: Sources tell me both the Buffalo Bills and Arizona Cardinals are interested in moving back, given the offensive line depth in this draft (a need for both clubs). http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d828701a4/article/nfl-draft-buzz-ryan-tannehill-still-the-key-fletcher-cox-at-6?module=HP11_hot_topics

"About what you want at #10,an IMPACT player that doesn't necessarily mean you have to start year one." you usually don't hear a LT described as an "impact" position..... "impact" to me means on offense someone who scores.....and on defense someone who gets sacks or turnovers. up til now i was thinkin we take at LT (REIFF)...but after hearing that.... "impact" players at #10 would be Floyd (WR) on offense and Ingram (LB/DE)on defense. taking into consideration that i think ingram will be gone and the bills tipped their hand with free agent WR meachem... i say FLOYD is the pick at #10........and they hope like hell to get a LT with their 2nd pick. -

i would rather see us stay at #10.......and then package our 2nd & 3rd round picks to move up for a late first rounder. Reiff & Stephen Hill (WR)......or Floyd & Glenn/Martin.
