Von Miller proves the doubters wrong
Magox replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
For those that are implying that Von Miller has been playing at a “meh” level, you’re talking out your ass and have no idea what you are talking about. He’s been excellent against the run and has been getting lots of pressures, considerably higher than your average DE. I believe he’s going to ball out come the playoffs. -
No one is talking about... Javon Solomon

Because Von Miller is playing at a pretty high level. With that said I would like to see the rook get more snaps -

It's a metric and the way I view metrics is that they can be useful at least in a directional sense, with that said, look at what these ratings show for KC. I've seen enough KC games to believe these metrics have no basis in reality when it comes to KC and pass protection. -

And no Cole Bishop either. -

They aren’t bad offenses but sort of middle of the pack. With that said, their defense is getting better and Baltimore is a team that I’d rather not have to face early on in the playoffs. -
It's funny to see how lots of people used to scoff at the idea of a core offensive philosophy of this team and Josh Allen of "everyone eats". How many catches and targets did Cooper get? I like Cooper and I do believe he was a factor despite his low stats of why this team put up huge points against Detroit, but it's clear that this mantra has held true throughout this year to a spectacular level.

This is true but I believe this more evolved version of Josh would have thrown it to Diggs. This is also true

Having his locker room presence, leadership and depth will be a welcome addition to this team as it heads down the stretch.

Is this good? Because it seems good

McDermott’s Post Game speech deserves its own thread

For all those that tend to find all the faults and warts this team has, I think you are truly missing the boat here. It's ok to criticize the team, but just enjoy what it is that us as fans have right now. Even though there hasn't been a SuperBowl championship that has been won yet, enjoy the moment. Enjoy what it is that we are witnessing here. We are going to miss having Josh Allen when he retires, we are going to miss all the plays that he makes, the character and leadership he has shown and the personification of what a Buffalo Bills play should be. I am savoring every moment I have while he is at the helm.- 83 replies

Honestly, It may not even be a 49ers call this could be Purdy making a business decision. Purdy is one of those guys that could be on the cusp of a huge or a middling contract. Sorta like Mayfield a few years back, Mayfield was headed towards a top level contract and then he had subpar year (largely due to his injury that he played through) and since he was viewed (wrongly) by many as a borderline franchise QB he never got the contract he deserved. Purdy is in a similar boat, I think there is enough skepticism about him that if he were to suffer a significant shoulder injury he probably wouldn’t get a $55 M + a year contract. I wouldn’t blame him for waiting till that shoulder is fully healed before he heads out on the field. Too much money is at stake.

Beane once again is two steps ahead of just about everyone on this message board. Many people were crying over trading Diggs and it ended up being a fantastic decision. Beane ended up getting a valuable 2nd round pick, got to unload tons of money for 2025 and he got a #1 WR in Amari who is a better man to man beater than Diggs which is something that Diggs was not able to do when it counted most. On the other hand, Amari came up huge in two third down plays that both ended up in scoring drives.

This slot argument is silly as if there isn't big time value. Arguably 2 of the top 6-7 receivers over the past few years have been "slot" guys. Amon-Ra has played 60% of his snaps from the slot Cooper Kupp has played over 65% of his snaps from the slot. Characterizing a player as "well he's just a slot guy" as some some sort of pejorative is wrong-headed. There is a lot of value to players who know how to play the slot, talent is talent and if a guy can play both despite playing primarily from the slot at a very high level is more valuable than a quote unquote middling #1 WR. I would rather take prime Cooper Kupp or Amon Ra St Brown over Chris Olave, Brandon Aiyuk or a DJ Moore who are all seen as decent typical #1 WR's. Also, if you watch Ladd's speed it matches the 4.39 40 time he had at the combine. The dude is an absolute burner, defenders don't catch him and he accelerates as impressively as his top end speed. That's one of SHakir's strengths is his acceleration. But holy crap, Ladd's route running is already in the top 5-10% in the league as it is and he's only going to get better. Again, I am very happy with Keon Coleman and he is exactly what leadership wanted and I think he's a great fit, I'm just pointing out that Ladd has proven lots of people wrong who were down on him throughout the draft process. I was big on him during the draft and everything that I thought he could be is showing up now.

I know he's not a Bills player any longer but this was one of the reasons why I liked him as a player.
