  1. Pro Bowl alternate Spencer Brown.... I wouldn't be surprised he get some 3rd team All pro votes. I was mentioning this in another thread how it seems like most of the offensive line have now begun using this ***** trap block often.
  2. I believe Chris Simms is an MVP voter and he said this a few days ago: https://sports.yahoo.com/simms-bills-allen-deserves-nfl-133929477.html#:~:text=In a crowded MVP race,Allen deserves NFL MVP award Mike Florio, another MVP voter said something interesting and stupid. Can't believe any would do this but if that is the case, Allen is the huge favorite. https://awfulannouncing.com/nfl/mike-florio-mvp-race-voters-betting-odds-josh-allen-lamar-jackson.html Dave Birkett who writes for Detroit press and MVP voter said that Josh had cemented his place as the MPV after the game Detroit played against the Bills. https://www.pressreader.com/usa/detroit-free-press/20241217/281908778743671?srsltid=AfmBOor1RbrEX56xY0Fs4pxceSlJ172YzvT2hK7mZPoGsO9W1SSfy5cr Teddi Bruschi another MVP voter has said this throughout the year on Allen and Saquon About 3 weeks ago, Boomer Esiason another MVP voter said that Josh took over as MVP frontrunner https://www.audacy.com/podcast/the-greg-hill-show-23f31/episodes/boomer-esiason-joins-says-josh-allen-took-over-as-front-runner-for-mvp-fff01
  3. I was in the camp of not being extending Cook simply for the fact that there are a lot of good players we need to bring back but my thought has changed. Cook is showing himself to not just be a good back but a dynamic playmaking one and playmakers come at a premium. The pay trend had been to not pay RB’s but the pendulum swung too much against paying RB’s and that trend this past year had finally broken, albeit at a modest level. They are still relatively underpaid and teams that decided to let their RB’s walk paid the price this year, (Saquon, Henry, Mixon and Jacobs). RB’s will begin to start getting paid higher compensation than what we had seen in the recent past and if we can get Cook at around $10-$12m a year then I’d be all over it. The cap will continue to rise nicely over the next few years with all the new streaming deals and record viewership and there are guys that we will be able to not count that much against the cap two years from now (Miller, Samuels, Daquan, Knox not to mention Diggs). I don’t think the Bills need to make any splash moves in FA, just retain the guys you drafted that you believe in and continue to draft well. The Bills have the luxury of lots of premium draft picks to continue to build this team.
  4. I keep hearing this argument about not wanting the Pats to have the 1st overall pick. Doesn't make all that much sense to me, it's not as if they are going after a QB, they already have their guy in Maye (Who I believe is going to be a problem). They are most likely going to trade back and get more draft picks. They want Offensive tackles and WR's.
  5. Milano could use the reps. He’s playing better but his recognition at times is still a hair off. The only way to improve that is by getting more reps. He and Bishop should play about half the game.
  6. The Bills will be employing more 3 LB defensive formations during the playoffs and if they play the Ravens it will be used quite extensively, Dorian will see a lot of playing time and will most likely not have as many reps dropping back into zone coverage as Bernard or Milano. Im thinking on passing downs he will be used as a spy on Lamar and rush him when he sees opportunities
  7. Sedrick Van Pran Granger Van Denmark Grable if possible Buffalo Joe Tyrell Shavers Cline Bishop (I just think the more reps he gets the better) Milano (He needs more reps) Frank Gore Jr. Trubisky (He needs to get some passing reps) Zach Davidson (He's an intriguing prospect, would like to see Dalton sit) Ulofoshio
  8. Other components for Allen’s MVP case - Offense scored 12 times over 30 points a game. - Offense averaged a near historic all time record of 3 points per drive - Allen had a season low per snap sack rate and a season low least yards per sack rate which means he doesn’t put his offense in unmanageable 3rd downs - Allen led the league in epa per play and total epa - The Bills were the only team to defeat the Chiefs who are conference leaders and defeat the Lions who were on an 11 game win streak and NFC leaders. Out of those two teams total 3 losses, 2 of those came against the Bills - The Chiefs game was the most televised game of the year and the Bills beat them by two scores and Allen put on an MVP performance for everyone to see - The Lions game was one of the most televised games and Allen put on an incredible MVP performance - Josh made what some dubbed the play of the year to put away the Chiefs. - Many sports pundits wrote off the Bills this year due to Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis along with Poyer and Hyde among others no longer with the team and not only did the Bills not struggle they thrived with an incredible offensive season. Add this up and you have the MVP
  9. Milano needs the reps. He’s almost there, just needs a little bit more game pt to speed up his mental processing
  10. First thing that will need to happen is that the Bills score near 30+ per game. This defense will not be a sort of defense to shut down good opposing offenses, they will give up yards. However, we do have lots of players who are capable of making plays, we get tons of turnovers and in order to win against the top offenses we will need to get some sacks, forced fumbles, int’s and some tackles for losses. Need to force a few stops a games and FG attempts. If the Bills can do that defensively while still scoring points than the Bills can beat anyone. Also, the Bills defense has been playing with 3 Lb’s more often and I fully expect to see that in action a lot vs the Ravens if we play them. I also think you will see Babich dial up more blitzes and exotic pass pressures than we’ve seen.
  11. What I really love about this pass blocking unit is how they are beginning to employ the ***** trap block technique. It used to be that the only lineman I'd see use it often was Dawkins, but I've noticed that his usage of that technique has increased. Then I began seeing Spencer Brown begin to use it and he's been using it more often as well. Now I'm seeing that O'Cyrus Torrence beginning to use it. Such a powerful and helpful technique that not only helps the lineman with that particular play but it also makes defenders think twice on how they attack the lineman.
  12. From watching the Cover 1 Breakdown, I think Milano is getting close. Some of those missed plays are just very slight hesitations that leads to having those missed tackles. It appears that if his processing can speed up just a tad, he'll be really close to where he was. He should definitely play a lot this week against the Patriots.
  13. You're right, I must have misheard him say it on his show.
  14. Broussard does have a vote and even though he is a Ravens fan, he pretty much indicated through his methodology that Allen will get his vote
  15. PFF is not the end all but it is a metric and hopefully this accurately depicted Milano's performance and is a harbinger of things to come from him. Also, if the Bills start their starters, they should absolutely still play guys like Cole Bishop and Milano so that there is another weeks worth of evaluation to determine if these guys should get significant snaps in the post season.
  16. We’re going to need Coleman and Amari to make plays from now on out.
  17. I don’t trust these sports writers to make this decision properly, they awarded Lamar last year when he truly didn’t deserve it and now they will look at his stats and probably give him the award when last year they pretty much ignored the stats. Josh is the clear favorite but I just don’t trust they will look at what the criteria calls for which is Most VALUABLE player.
  18. Sounds familiar, almost to a tee Rounding into form. He’s on a good 5 game stretch
  19. “Only four of those 15 showed up in the top 20 – CeeDee Lamb (53.8%), Jayden Reed (68.5%), Amon-Ra St. Brown (58.8%) and Christian Kirk (80.0%, most in the league).” https://ftnfantasy.com/nfl/slot-vs-wide-2023-wide-receivers You know what percentage of snaps he had in the slot CeeDee had as a rookie? 90% https://www.rotowire.com/football/player/ceedee-lamb-14411 I do agree that at the heart of it all is if Ladd can win on the boundary as well and I think he will demonstrate that throughout his career provided he can stay healthy.
  20. CeeDee Lamb plays more snaps from the slot than boundary and he is at the top, Kupp was at the top. Keenan Allen who signed a $20m a year contract back in 2020 who plays alot more snaps from the slot than boundary was at that time a top 3 WR pay. Chris Godwin who has had lots of injury issues and will be turning 29 is expected to get a $25m plus contract. Puca Nacua who had his best year from the slot when it comes his time will get a mega top tier contract. Devante Adams who plays lots of slot snaps was paid as a top WR. This isn’t black or white, many of the receivers who are paid at the top plays lots of snaps from the slot. McConkey has demonstrated both collegiately and in the pros that he can win both inside and out. Provided he stays healthy which I do have some concerns, he will be considered on par with guys like Amon ra st brown and prime Kupp, even though McConkey is much faster and explosive than those two. It’s not even close.
  21. Here are some stats that may surprise people. Stefon Diggs played from the slot 60% of the time this year and nearly half the time as a Bills receiver in 2023. Keenan Allen played from the slot nearly 60% of the time as a Charger from 2020-2023 Devante Adams played from the slot 40% of the time over past few years. Godwin has played nearly 60% of his snaps from the slot over past few years. Ceedee Lamb has played from the slot 54% of the time. Nacua in 2023 played 56% of his snaps from the slot. Mcconkey as a rookie has excelled and his slot percentage is 67%. McConkey has demonstrated he can win both on the outside and the slot. Provided he can be a durable player, you’ll see in the coming years that he will be viewed as one of the elite who wins no matter where he is matched up and the contract he will be offered will reflect that.
  22. I didn’t say that, however I can agree that he fits very well in the slot, but if there were other competent receivers on the team that could also play the slot than his percentage of snaps from the slot would be less than 67%. Either way, people attempting to pigeon hole players as “just” slot receivers are wrong on substance/facts and that characterizing players as slot guys as some sort of pejorative are outdated in their thinking in todays NFL offenses. Elite receivers who constantly win in the slot are valued by GM’s just about as much as guys who win on the boundaries. That’s just a fact
  23. I had a huge draft crush on McConkey, hearing and watching how he was dominating DB’s with their 1 on 1’s one after another really is what convinced me that he was as close to be a sure fire NFL high producing WR as anyone in the draft class. I knew his floor was high but wasn’t sure how high his ceiling was. After seeing his 4.39 40, it raised my views of his ceiling. The only things where I had concerns was his lack of college production (in part due to injuries) and his semi slight frame, wasn’t sure if he would have durability concerns and if press jammed he would have some struggles.
  24. There are quite a few misconceptions about both “slot” receivers and Ladd McConkey. The outdated way of thinking was that there was a huge gulf of value disparity between an elite boundary receiver vs a slot receiver. As the NFL continues to evolve we are seeing lots more usage of offensive game planners using their receivers to get more targets in the slot than the past. Which is why more and more receivers are getting their production from the slot than ever before. This is why receivers who are primarily slot receivers that are playing at an elite level are getting paid almost as much as elite boundary receivers. Among Ra St Brown is getting paid $30m a year. Cooper Kupps contract back in 2022 was right at the highest ever for any WR at nearly $27m a year. Ceedee Lamb was just given an NFL record contract, I bring him up because over half his snaps come from the slot. Even a guy like Christian Kirk who was considered a decent slot was awarded a couple years ago with an $18m a year contract. The point is that NFL GM’s and offensive play callers are seeing that the value of receivers who excel from the slot are considered more valuable than they were a few years ago and that the value disparity from boundary to slot is tightening and tightening rapidly. That is clearly the case by both percentage of targets increasing to the slot and the contracts being offered to guys who can win from that spot. As far as Ladd McConkey is concerned, he’s been type cast by many as just a “slot” guy and you can’t help but think that it’s primarily due to his skin color. I mean, how many white boundary receivers are there in NFL? Ladd McConkey’s speed is in the high 4.3’s and you know what? His play speed matches his timed speed. He blows past defenders with the ball in his hands and on deeper routes. His route running is already at an elite level. He is already separating from DB’s at a high level and has a full route tree. His footwork is insane. He has played from the slot 67% of the time so far this year, which if he was given the opportunity to play more from the boundary he could do that. The reason why he plays as much as he does is because the Chargers next two best receivers are purely boundary guys in Palmer and Johnson. McConkey played 70% of his college snaps from the boundary, so this notion that he can only play from the slot is silly and flat out not true. Most of his career snaps have been from the outside and even a 1/3 of his NFL snaps are from the boundary as well. I like Coleman a lot and the Bills offensive play calling calls for their receivers to do a lot of blocking and having McConkey to go along with Shakir probably would split a lot of their snaps and wouldn’t have made the most sense. On the other hand I believe good play callers find ways to get their best players on the field. McConkey as I was saying through the draft process I believed was going to be one of the best receivers from this deep draft, I strongly believed he was going to excel, my only hesitancy was that he never had big numbers in college but everything else checked out aside from his thin build. The way the NFL is trending towards, McConkey won’t have to have a high snap count from the boundary to be highly successful against opposing defenses and to be rewarded a mega contract nearly on par with the elite boundary guys.
