  1. I really can’t disagree with this more.A) McCoy was definitely doing his own thing on the sidelines. I seriously doubt that was discussed or preapproved by the team. B) If the whole argument against criticizing these protests is that people should be allowed to peacefully express their beliefs (as guaranteed by the constitution) then what is the basis for criticizing Kelly when he’s doing just that. C) the president says that if you don’t stand for the anthem then you should be fired. You say that if Kelly doesn’t tow the team line then he should get out of the way. What’s the difference?
  2. He is talking about Jerry Hughes not wanting Jim Kelly on the sideline because he’s not towing the team line. That’s the only point of view being excluded.
  3. Which is in itself a distraction while everyone’s wallets are stolen.
  4. That’s what you and probably many of them would like to believe, but the method of protest that they have chosen is going far beyond that, as you can see by the reaction.
  5. And offensive. You keep leaving that out...
  6. Everyone gets this. But why did they chose this way to protest? Because they know that it is offensive and will piss off (and therefore get the attention of) a lot of people. So, yes, it is offensive by specific intent. I dont think youd be seeing whats going on today if they wrote letters to their congressmen or something mundane like that. Like when the draft and war protesters burned American flags in the 60s.
  7. I agree with Kelly. McCoy was ove the top. He went beyond protesting was basically saying that he can do whatever he wants during the anthem, whether it’s stretching, talking to some friends or taking a dump. Whatever. It certainly stood out. I had two friends specifically call his behavior out at the start of the game and in today’s press conference McDermott was hit with questions specifically about Shady as well.
  8. It’s as simple as this honestly. Hughes and the team have decided how they are going to play this and they don’t want anyone else with a different point of view with them on the sidelines. Right or wrong, that’s clearly what he’s saying.
  9. Given the teams reactions, taking it up a notch, I seriously doubt that the numbers will change.
  10. I know two close friends who cancelled their Sunday Ticket package today. Given how unpopular the protests are with the general public (72% opposed according to poll by Reuters a week ago), I think you are probably right that this will seriously hurt the NFL.
  11. Yup. The internet is a great place. It really brings out the best in people.
  12. Wow. When do they fit him for his gold jacket?
  13. Very good win, IMO. But the key to turning the corner is, and always has been, beating a good team on the road. Once they do that then I think you can say that they have a legitimate playoff contender.
  14. What will 2018 be like when K Williams retires, the Bills dump Dareus and they have a rookie QB starting? Better?
  15. I'm not sure why. Regardless of character issues they are both mediocre players at best. Henderson was getting roasted any 2nd and 3rd stringers in the preseason and he was one of the worst starting tackles in the league before his illness flared up. Powell is a marginal special teams player and not a viable WR. A dime a dozen type. Maybe it's because the Bills are SOOO weak at their two positions, but stil...
  16. This is the key statement. In a west coast style offense, Siemian is better that Tyrod. By quite a bit. The question really is: why are they determined to run this style of offense with Tyrod at QB? The obvious answer is that they see this as the offense of their future, which Tyrod will not be part of. So this is a plan to build towards 2 or 3 years down the road at the expense of this season, IMO.
  17. Not sure. But unless the team is miraculously in playoff contention there would be no reason not to do it. The players they need to dump are not all pros or anything.
  18. They Bills will clean house week 9, as required to get the pick. Take it to the bank.
  19. Today I read that a professional golfer was penalized 12 strokes for having tiny stickers attached to his club to measure his club speed, angle, etc. during a round. He accepted the (absurd) penalty without complaint and complimented the rules officials for doing their jobs. Meanwhile in the NFL, players beat women, do drugs and cheat during games. When penalties are imposed they appeal to the Supreme Court if necessary to get them reduced or eliminated, and if the commissioner gets in the way or causes trouble, the Owners push to get him replaced.
  20. It's silly to rail for or against paying for news. It's a business decision on both sides. If you think having access to their coverage is worth $3 per month then you pay. If not, you don't. Complaining either way is really worse than a waste of time since it creates unnecessary acrimony.
  21. I agree regarding Donald- renegotiate with him. Peters was trickier because the Bills had already renegotiated his contract once and he wanted to do it again a year later.
  22. Mabin was another guy that they were talking up only to dump him in short order. Hopefully they get him in the PS, unless of course they were making it up about him and he really sucks.
  23. After reviewing the play, i think he was down by contact. When Wood tackled him, his knee was still on the ground.
  24. I think Dawkins has already been working exclusively at LT for a while.
