  1. A submarine sandwich and a pat on the back.
  2. Makes no sense now that Dennison is gone, IMO.
  3. I think you're overrating Alex Smith. Even with the great Andy Reid, passing game guru, as coach this is the only season that the Chiefs have ranked higher than 20th in the league in passing under Smith. They love him so much that they just moved up to draft his replacement and will probably be looking to trade him this off season.
  4. I suspect Roman's passing attack would look a lot better if he didn't have Kaepernick and Taylor at QB.
  5. Most of his success or failure is going to depend on what the Bills do at QB. In a way I feel bad for these OCs that favor the running game. People bring them in when they have crappy QBs and then blame them when the passing game flounders. Heck, Roman had the #1 running game in the NFL and still got canned.
  6. That's the attitude that causes you to get dumped. I'm sure it will wear thin quickly with Marrone too. Good riddance.
  7. I understand all of this, but you would assume that there are some qualified candidates who deserve their first or maybe second shot before you hire someone who has been unsuccessful 3 previous times. Could this even happen in the private sector? Would you hire someone for the exact same position that he was fired from for poor performance on 3 previous occasions? You mention Belichick, Levy and Carroll but they were not 3 time NFL HC failures when they were hired. Maybe the fourth time is the charm but it's amazing to me that there isn't another candidate with a better track record to recommend him. It really seems like the major reason he's here is because McDermott knows him, Saban and Belichick like him, etc... old boy network stuff.
  8. It’s amazing that he gets a fourth shot at a job that he bombed at the three previous times. it makes you think that people must really see some potential in him. Or it reinforces the “old boy network” theory.
  9. The 70s were a long time ago. Doubt many fans are still carrying a grudge.
  10. EJ is ok, but he's no Fitz.
  11. The refs REALLY need to let the players play in these games. This totally stinks for the viewers.
  12. Good clock management by the Eagles.
  13. It makes so little sense. His trade value is virtually zero.
  14. Time for the refs to decide the winner.
  15. This is all true, sadly. I think the Bills coaching has been solid but they've really gone on a limb with their front office moves. If they want to upgrade DE, then fine. Draft a DE. Bring in some FAs. Whatever. But don't get rid of Lawson for peanuts. Let someone beat him out first and then keep him for depth.
  16. Not surprised at all. Wasn't drafted by this front office and doesn't fit this scheme. lol. Right. Ragland is a second year starter for a different playoff team. Lawson will do very well in the right scheme too.
  17. I found the report that the Jacksonville player thought Incognito was coached to say what he did pretty crazy too. I don’t know what I he said but it seems absurd that he would be coached to throw around racial slurs.
  18. I don’t understand why AJ McCarron and a rookie are better than Tyrod and a rookie. I say go get a top veteran like Cousins, if possible, or stick with Tyrod and draft a QB in round 1. Other options I would look at are Sam Bradford and a dark horse, Andrew Luck.
  19. It certainly wasnt Beane.
  20. Hyde, Poyer, White and Milano were all here before he was hired. They were brought on by Whaley. So was the extra #1 pick. Matthews and Benjamin were useless deals. Gaines was good, but so was Watkins. Gaines is a FA now. He's got a lot to prove, IMO.
  21. I'm in Charlotte too and I don't hear too much about him. Anyway, I hope he works out. These next two drafts are critical.
  22. I'd like to see them keep KW for another season, but who knows. Got to try and keep Gaines, IMO. The other guys are a crap shoot but I'd probably try and hang onto Henderson, Thompson and Brown.
  23. No. Jacksonville's offense was inept. It was reasonable to assume that they'd get the ball back and they did.
  24. I agree. McDermitt has done a good job making sure everyone is prepared, eliminating the stupid penalties and creating a sense of team. But his in game management needs a lot of work. Hopefully, that will improve with experience. Based on what? Serious questions.
  25. True, although Kelly was the QB vs the Bengals in 1988.
