Luck not coming out is very bad news for Carolina. They are really desperate for good QB play, but I really can't see Carolina taking Newton #1 overall. They will probably look for a solid veteran until they see how Clausen develops.

The team needs to try and improve at ALL positions, including QB. Draft the best available player and get the max value at each draft slot. I don't know what FA will look like in the current economic climate, but if possible they should bring in 2 or 3 solid medium priced FAs as well. I see very few positions that don't need to be improved. Maybe FB and CB. Maybe some of the current guys will pick up their play and become legitimate championship caliber players but right now, they are not. The coaching staff, including Edwards, will all get another year, minimum, to see what they can do. Frankly, I am more impressed with Gailey than Nix.

He just hasn't shown good running instincts. Yes he's fast, but so is everyone else in the NFL. I'm not sure that this is going to change either. Running back is one of the easiest position to transition from college to the NFL. Either you can run or you can't. Sometimes backs need work in pass protection or ball security but rarely running.

Wow. The guy really has not idea about sportsmanship. What a good role model he is.

I also live in Charlotte and follow the Panthers. I agree with this 100%. Before the surgery he was a guy who could manage a strong team and be successful. After the surgery, he was done.

I think that Jerry Sullivan must hire people to start a thread titled "Sullivan is an a**" every time he writes something new to get the word out and some extra publicity. I mean really, who cares what he writes? If you like him, read it. If not, don't.

On that type of play, if it is clear who would have recovered the fumble in the opinion of the officials, they can award to possession to that team. They can't advance the ball, however. I can't quote you the verse, but hat's been the rule for a few seasons now.

I've seen this a few times and I don't really get it. Didn't the Bills just draft a NT and DE? Plus they have a pro-bowler in Williams and another solid starter in Edwards. I can see bringing in some later round guys for depth and rotations, but not in the first two rounds.

Unless he's a high level guy, he'll probably be fired. That's my prediction.

I like the guy. He makes some mistakes which lead me to think that he may not have a very high football IQ, but I'm pulling for him. He needs good coaching and strong guidance. His athleticism is off the chart.

This. Plus up until last week I thought that the defense had been starting to play better. Unless the defense just totally collapses over the last 4 games, I see him being back next year.

I expect him to be back this week. If not, then I guess Levitre will be center with somebody off the street playing guard. They could also try Wrotto and guard with Wang at OT... not very promising.

The offensive line was getting their butts kicked well before Hangartner went down. There was virtually no running game and Wrotto and Bell were getting roasted in pass protection. Bell didn't appear to be strong enough to handle Allen, who is probably a bigger and more physical end than he is used to facing.

So I assume it'll be Wood to center with Howard playing guard. Bell-Levitre-Wood-Howard-Wrotto. But there is absolutely nothing behind them...
