  1. So, as a reminder, Cam Newton's shady past, to where he had NO KNOWLEDGE of pay for play. Tit for tat game, I say. The no substantiation game goes both ways, so sit down, Mr. King. "Now the bizarre part: The NCAA did determine that the pay-for-play allegations against Newton's father, Cecil, are accurate and amount to a violation of Association bylaws. Its investigation found that "the student-athlete’s father and an owner of a scouting service worked together to actively market the student-athlete as a part of a pay-for-play scenario in return for Newton’s commitment to attend college and play football." This is exactly the story that emerged in the press last month. As a result, Auburn has "limited the access" of Cecil Newton to the program, and Mississippi State has formally "disassociated" ex-Bulldog Kenny Rogers, the alleged (and confessed) middleman in the elder Newton's attempt to solicit a low six-figure cash payment from Mississippi State during his son's recruitment out of junior college last year. The investigation into all relevant parties and schools remains ongoing, per the NCAA's release: "Reinstatement decisions are independent of the NCAA enforcement process and typically are made once the facts of the student-athlete’s involvement are determined. The reinstatement process is likely to conclude prior to the close of an investigation." What the NCAA apparently did not find, though, is that Cam Newton actually accepted any improper benefits or, as far as it can uncover, had any knowledge of his father's scheme. Neither, apparently, did Auburn. If evidence to the contrary ever emerges, the story may be rewritten yet again." http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/blog/dr_saturday/post/NCAA-finds-pay-for-play-but-Cam-Newton-is-in-th?urn=ncaaf-290855
  2. It ceased to be an "abstract issue" when the motives for this "story" were based on race. It invalidates the entire piece to know that the intent is reprehensible.
  3. This whole thing started because one quarterback chose to be a baby and not act like an adult after a loss, while the other one after enduring many a loss and acting like an adult won another Championship.... and the justification for the reporting of this was based upon his SKIN COLOR.... that to me is intolerable. This "journalist" should be roundly criticized for this obvious tabloid journalism...
  4. This is a great ruling that I can only hope affects a binding court ruling. Maybe it will lead to more rollbacks of infringement upon others' First Amendment rights due to this PC nonsense our country has been throttled by. There is hope yet!!!!
  5. OK.... so ANY self-respecting BILLS fan would want the Panthers to win it all if they go 16-0, and see the *Cheatriots or Jests lose, Any other team does not matter.... that's my take.
  6. You make it seem as if the bad day at the office was the ONLY instance of him being a jerk and not backing up his talk, but as we have seen it is not the case. I'm sure you can find many jerks who have done at least one nice thing in their lives.... but it doesn't change the assessment!
  7. Typical "Bash Sully, not the player or the coaching" routine... he told it like it is, and you are deriding Sully? Get over yourselves... McCoy played like crap in the second half, and this coaching staff wastes Whaley's great selections, ruined our defense and is undisciplined which DIRECTLY reflects Rexie, which should be the next column in the arsenal. We're OUT of the playoff hunt and it's another year of mediocrity, and Sully hasn't coached, managed, or played in a single one of the countless games over countless seasons this team has dissapointed in... so that's the bottom line.
  8. A great job? Yeah, let me know when or if the Sabres ever have a winning record again. Any GM can gut a team for a very high draft pick... no thanks. Tim Murray is garbage and I can't wait until he's fired so we can get someone in there worthy of the position.
  9. Remember the scene in Casino with the guy at the slot machines that Rothstein (DeNiro) fired because he kept being bad at his job, insisiting he was "trying"? Yeah, that's EJ Manuel in a nutshell... I don't buy the fact that he was really trying... zero evidence of that much improvement.
  10. So, I have heard some doozies in my time as a Bills fan, including the all time playbook Hobert quote, the Leon Seals "get the hell out of Buffalo" quote and others, but this one takes the cake. As a quarterback, it is your responsibility to be a leader and accept the fact that when you are terrible, you own it. Today, he chose to ignore the obvious, and proves why over his career in a Bills uniform he has learned little about what it takes to be a starting NFL quarterback. I find it insulting that he would have the audacity to say he did not cost our team the game, and to be honest, I would much rather have someone with less talent who genuinely works to improve themselves backing up Tyrod than a gifted quarterback who doesn't learn jack. He has now put himself in that Rob Johnson category.
  11. We're not defense contractors or lobbyists... that was easy. Sad, but true.
  12. It's already here... one day the temperature got up to 104 actual. That's absolutely insane...
  13. I would not say that is true in Buffalo's case... I cannot imagine the state of the local economy if the Bills and Sabres didn't get the stadium deals they were looking for. It's not worth the risk to NOT do it if the market is a smaller one with a very strong fan base.
  14. As one of those transient military members, I'm not staying here... there is little incentive as I mentioned. Definitely a very overrated place- we should have moved to Washington state.
  15. The temperatures were record setting this summer... late October, over 100 degrees at my place. Last year, close to the same temperatures but it cooled down sooner. There is just not enough water to keep things green here... the grass is turning brown due to lack of water. I'm betting eventually it very well could.
  16. As a Bills fan in San Diego, sports fans here are like Dolphins fans in Miami... a few passionate ones sprinkled around. I'm not sticking around this area despite the "beautiful weather" that is turning into Arizona real fast with all the outrageous drought conditions, $3.00/gal gas while everyone else enjoys under $2 a gallon, and other things. I would NOT recommend San Diego to anyone from the rest of the country... soon it's going to be REAL bad. Football is going to be a very minor concern!!!
  17. A new coach still won't help Michigan in one year, and their player talent is not that much improved, so that was a bad analogy. So to say that Michigan is crap this year is pretty accurate.
  18. He's already HAD the time to prove what he can do, and he makes the SAME BLOODY MISTAKES over and over again with no improvement. He's already stopped improving but yet suddenly we have to waste all of our talent on this one guy who was a project to begin with- NOT a franchise QB as you make him out to be, but a project! Tyrod Taylor has been behind Super Bowl winning QB Joe Flacco, has already shown more than EJ has, gives us a better chance to win, and above all has just as much athletic ability as EJ has. You discount Tyrod Taylor as a Brad Johnson or a Doug Flutie when EJ has been acting worse than a Brad Johnson or a Doug Flutie and somehow that's OK because we reached for him in the first round. Man, I cannot wait until EJ gets cut or traded... then maybe this nonsense about him being QB of the future is laid to rest, where it belongs.
  19. That's because EJ sucked and he deserves the criticism. He still hasn't developed like he should with the natural abilities he possesses. Quit trying to play the bias card when most everyone knows that there is a REASON why two coaching staffs have now placed EJ in a non-starting role. What must it take for you EJ apologists to get it?
  20. It's not crazy, because EJ cannot get his stuff together, and he has had opportunities to do so now. I'm so glad that this coaching staff is finally putting to rest this idea that EJ will be that special QB with time to "maximize his abilities". It is CLEAR that he will never get there because he isn't responding to lessons learned, and one preseason game drive against bench defenders isn't going to resuscitate his rep. All "prototype specimens" don't win games! RESULTS, not excuses.
  21. I cannot WAIT until Tyrod Taylor takes over and gets this bum EJ who has wasted all of our time outta here. It's nice to have athleticism with actual lessons sinking in in combination for a change. GO BILLS!!!
  22. Blaming Marrone for everything is short-sighted and completely ignores the fact EJ was a project QB from the beginning we drafted too high.,
  23. EJ is terrible... the new coaches now know it, the GM knows it, the fans MOSTLY know it, so whatever "movie" he's in, all the "camera" time in the world will still make his a below average "actor" with vastly improved "producers". The EJ Experiment is OVER...
  24. This team is not like the Pirates, who got players to fill in the needed gaps in the roster and did it extremely well. Specifically, King Kang is killing is as a bonafide SS for the first time in a LONG time. The Pirates have also made the playoffs in consecutive seasons, unlike the Bills. I don't know where you missed the Soria signing and the other signings, but you should check them out.
  25. Andre Reed was WAY cool, tailgating with him, Leonard Smith and Jonathan Linton... so I just don't get how he is "arrogant and rude". Thurman Thomas bought me a beer hanging out with him, Bruce and Darryl (and Junior Seau and Richard Roundtree)... and the Hawaiian Tropic girls were always popular with them, married or no. Ralph, Marv, Jimbo, all approachable. I have never met a Bill I had a problem with, basically.
