  1. Has the map come out yet? Will be in the Outer Banks of NC and wondering if the Bills will be shown. I didn't realize the Carolinas default to Pittsburgh - would have thought Baltimore as an AFC team.
  2. I was going to start this thread if it didn't exist....my gosh, Milano was all over the field today. And the tackles he made in the open field were game savers IMO....He had 11 solo and 2 assisted tackles....just magnificent.
  3. I don't think the nostalgia of the '90's SB teams will go away until the current iteration does something - win a SB, or appear in a couple of SB's......
  4. With all due respect to the OP, until any other Bills team gets to and wins the Super Bowl, the 90's teams will still be my benchmark. Those teams dominated the AFC and except for one game a year, albeit the big game, they were absolutely the best team on the field for every game. There was no doubt about whether they were going to win or not and when the team did lose, people were genuinely surprised. The current iteration is a lot of fun to watch. They've won the division which is great but really, nothing of note - no AFC Championship and no SB appearances. If this current team wins a SB, then they will supplant all previous Bills teams in the hearts of the fans IMO.
  5. I wonder about that too. But on the other side of the coin, the team is already at game three of the season so you'd think maybe its not related to preseason.....
  6. What worries me is that the Bills are 0-7 in one score games including 0-6 last season. They're going to have to win some close games to get to the big game. But if they can win by 30+ that's great too....
  7. This one makes me very nervous given the situation in the secondary. Hopefully this isn't the game the offense lays an egg....there always seems to be one....
  8. The secret is bourbon in copious amounts - nature's preservative......(Don't tell my wife).....
  9. The only negative I saw was that was the game that should have been played last February.......and hopefully will be played this coming February.......
  10. I agree that there is no middle ground - this year! Either the team wins it all or we're going to be very disappointed. There is no team on paper better than the Bills. I think it comes down to whether the players want to seize the moment. I can't help but think of that old Lou Saban clip - "if we die, we die together, you can get it done, you can get it done, what's more ya gotta get it done...." I'm running out of years, Bills - get it done this year!
  11. What a brutal schedule. I feel like if they can go 3-3 the first six games the team should be able to win the division and maybe contend for HFA through the playoffs.....
  12. Right there with ya TBJ! First game in 1965 when I was five, I mean when you grow up in Buffalo its hard not to follow the team, win lose or draw. The SB years were great. The current team has that same feel....fingers crossed.
  13. I agree with the OP's statement - the team had better win the division and there's no reason, in March, on paper, why they shouldn't. Having said that, and not to be a Debbie Downer, but after watching the Bills for 55 years, if there's a way for them to lose at the worst time(s) they will....but by God, they're due, that's for sure....
  14. I know, its a curse....being a Bills fan that is......get 'em next year though......
  15. Actually this entire week is tough - yesterday was 30 years since the loss to the Redskins, I think tomorrow is 29 years for the 1st Cowboys loss and Saturday is 28 years from Cowboys loss Part II....
  16. I agree that the team has a unique window for the next couple of years. I think it remains to be seen what this lose does to the key players and coaches that will be around. It's a soul crushing lose and those players and coaches around next year can learn from it and come ready to kick butt to make certain the road to the SB goes through Buffalo or they can let this bring the organization down like the Music City Miracle did (anyone recall 17 years of futility?). I hope its the former but we won't know until next September.
  17. This is a great review of what its been like to be a Bills fan for 50+ years....I like that term "Billsy" - fits perfectly. I could almost hear my dad up in heaven yelling "the only thing the prevent defense prevents is winning...."
  18. If you've been a fan long enough you've kind of come to expect this kind of crap. Cursed or not, we as fans have had the Harmon drop, the "wide right", the "MMM" and now the "greatest comeback that never was." IMO, this season has had the feel of 1989 all over it. The team comes from no where in 2019 to win the division and play in the AFCC which they lose (see 1988). Then they come into this season as real contenders with the national press on them and they promptly lose their first game in a rather flat display of football. While the '89 team featured the "Bickering Bills" a lot of that bickering stemmed from believing they were better than they were (IMO). They win their division and lose in the divisional playoffs on Harmon's wide open drop. Fast forward to this season - they just never got in a rhythm until it was too late. They beat up on some very bad teams, lost to the worst team and cost themselves the home field advantage. I'm interested to see if, like the 1990 Bills, the team comes back next year all business. After a soul crushing loss like last night each person who's on the team next year has a decision to make on how they want to show up. I really hope and believe that the team will come out for blood and do all they can to have the road to the SB go through Buffalo.
  19. If only saying please worked.....The Bills would hold the record for most Super Bowls won in a row......
  20. I have to agree - I was feeling great about the Bills chances until I watched how KC played last night. KC is not the same KC that the Bills handled early in the season - their defense is much improved and their offense has cut down on the silly mistakes. I have to think it will take another near perfect game to beat them on their turf.
  21. Further, I'd like to take some credit here as I finally found the right hat/shirt/chair/sitting position to bring about the perfect game. This included rhythmically tapping the middle finger on my right hand against my right thigh, much like a mental patient might do. Seems to have worked.....
