  1. Just ignore him. He is great at what he does. Everyone there is great. Rex just ruins everything.
  2. Yes. To be honest, I think most fans were pretty resigned to the reality that Rex would be here next season... but then the reports came before the Pittsburgh game. It took me by surprise, my wife read it on facebook which is how I learned and I told her no way and it was probably nothing. Then I saw it was a legitimate source. That seems to have emboldened the fire Rex crowd and people who just want a log thrown onto the fire. They really could have put the fire out right after the Pittsburgh game by publicly supporting the coach. They havent done it at all and it speaks volumes. The fact that this is happening does seem to indicate a rift/drama at OBD
  3. I agree with this. CONTINUITY (unless the GM cant get along with another >.500 coach) Let them all sink or swim together
  4. Hardly an endorsement of the coach. He is a goner. They would be circling the wagons, saying he is doing a good job, handed a tough deck on injuries, continuity, .500 with a chance to improve, etc... The lack of those buzz phrases and agenda screams that Rex is a dead man walking.
  5. Why in the world would we not want tom coughlin involved with the bills? Lol
  6. 1. That is pretty much true everywhere.... not just Buffalo. Green Bay was ready to burn last year... and again earlier this year. Even New England fans start to question their team, Brady, Belichick, etc on the rare occasion that the Pats get bopped in the nose (like that KC game a couple years ago). It is different though in cities with 4 major Sports. Odds are 1 of them are doing decent enough and fans will generally flock and pay attention to the better franchise(s). No matter what you are going to have overly critical and negative fans... The Bills deserve it. 2. The Buffalo News resents the Pegulas in general. Pegula came on the scene with the laughable notion that TBN needs to write nice articles about everyone no matter what. This was on the heels of another tense relationship between TBN and Golisano/Quinn/Regier. They mocked him and it started a fued. TBN has been stonewalled, and if you paid close attention to the Sabres, they have given information and have been much more candid with out of town sources... while giving TBN nothing.... which stokes the flames more. WGR was also stonewalled, but they started to play nice about when they became the Bills' station. They supported the Sabres tank and are also as fair as they can be with the Bills. As a result, the teams throw them bones and they get more access. The media DOES want the Bills to do well. They are exhausted by the same story playing over and over again. Readership/listenership/viewership increases when they do well, as do the out of town/national spots and opportunities. They have friends and family who are fans and are members of the community.
  7. team has been realistically eliminated at the beginning of December, again. They might excel in 1 area... but are severely lacking in many others. They have not been competitive against good teams, save the Seattle MNF game... This has been the way of many of these teams in the past 17 years. They have 6 games this season against the worst 5 teams in the league which helps "optimism" I look at the team/roster and I am not given reinforced hope for future success. Parts of the team is aging to add to existing holes, and I do not see a glut of young players with upside to give hope. As far as knocking Miami out of the playoffs... I don't really care. It is a silly "rivalry", whose last bastion was inside Mr Wilson's head.
  8. If true, let him stay.
  9. If it is true... it makes me think that the Bills are going to give the position to Anthony Lynn... and dont want the move to lose its 'luster' before next season
  10. if the decision is made... and he has been told... then why is he still here?
  11. They actually went into 2013 with Manuel, Lewis, and Tuel... ouch. It would have been nice if instead of trading up for Watkins to try to inflate their EJ Manuel mistake in the eyes of incoming new ownership... basically investing 3 1st rounders on.... that.... they could have had Bridgewater or Carr... and had a 1st rounder in 2015.... they could have even traded down and still drafted Bridgewater or Carr. Then you see Philadelphia and how aggressively they are chasing (or have chased) their franchise QB. I feel like the Bills are going to again be in self-salvation mode, trying to plug a number of holes, instead of being serious about QB. They will keep Tyrod... or "try Cardale". Early Draft rounds will be a S, WR, and CB. Always chasing the 8-8 dreams More than anything... I feel we just need fresh eyes and outlook there. Nobody at OBD has proven any mettle in building a playoff caliber NFL team or identifying a QB.
  12. I dont really want to discredit all the wins... But their performance against good teams... as it has been in the past.... does not indicate that this team is on the precipice of competing with the top 12, especially on the road. They feast on bad teams. Maybe one time if everything breaks their way, and they can beat, say Kansas City at home one time... they can make the playoffs and lose on the road in the first round. I want them to create a good, sustainable football program. Their sites need to be set higher than making the playoffs someday. Nothing here makes me believe anyone internally understands how to make sustainability happen. They should be continually trading down in the draft unless it is a QB.
  13. whose fault is no QB? Is it an external factor? Also, the team is 0-7 vs teams .500 or greater this season. I don't see them as competitive or nearly getting over the hump. There aren't any young up and coming players who make me hopeful for the future (short or long term). Some players are getting long in the tooth, and going into next year there will be holes in CB, S, QB, WR, and LB. The record this season (and last) has been inflated by fortunate scheduling. By the end, 6 games will be played against the league's worst 5 or 6 teams. I would be on board with keeping it all together for next season. However, if the 'solution' is going to be fire Rex and blame all the problems and mistakes on him.... then promote Anthony Lynn to HC to see what he can do for the next 2-3 seasons.... that is a disaster
  14. I know some members of the local media. Trust me. They very much would prefer the Bills (and the Sabres) pull out of their ruts and get their act together. Covering the same groundhog day crap gets old and challenging.
  15. Right when Marrone walked off and Rex was brought in, they (and we) thought they had a window of a few years to make noise.... the window is pretty much gone
  16. I was thinking 6-10 this season... I did not expect Cincy and Arizona to be that bad.
  17. They aren't that close though. The schedule this season parted for them. They had teams ranked probably #32, #31, #30, #29, and #28x2 on their schedule. Also add in a New England team with pretty much no QB option, and a somehow bad Arizona team with the 1PM EST start, and Cincinnati... who are both 5-8-1. Each time they played a team who mattered, they got their teeth kicked in (save the Seattle MNF game). They are 0-7 vs teams over .500 This team does enough to beat the dregs of the NFL most of the time... but when they play a team who matters, there is almost no contest. To me, that isn't close at all, and it has been the same pattern through a long period of time. They are also aging in a number of spots, have expiring contracts, and also now are against the cap. They have some holes are are about to be presented with even more problems. This isn't a team on the come. They are a pulled McCoy hammy from being a 3 or 4 win team.
  18. Even with the pats, the bills still havent finished ahead of both miami and the jets with any regularity
  19. The bills kind of make it necessary to have an "agenda", no? They cant even make it into december with a realistic shot at a playoff spot This isnt a young break-out roster either.
  20. He kind of rambled on too much about the drafted players by team.... but i liked how he shined a light on the bills little outsourcing blame and magnifying credit shell game.
  21. All the bills needs to do is win all their games next season
  22. I think they had a window of a few years as well as cap money to spend and blew it. The window is actually closing now. Players are aging, contracts are unfavorable, and they dont have a glut of picks/assets.
