  1. These claims seem strange. I immediately hated Bon Jovi as did most of us. It was pretty much common knowledge that he was in cahoots with Lieweke and MLSE.... and Kryk was reporting heavily on their relationship and speculating on their grand scheme. Bon Jovi didnt stand a chance of earning our trust. With or without a 'propaganda effort"
  2. I would say no. The pitts game in 04 of course. The ne sunday night massacre There was a jets game a few years back in the same situation where they drubbed the bills
  3. dont forget he also couldnt play nice with Marrone. Who knows what would have happened if Marrone didn't head for the hills and disrupt the defense. It looks like the Bills have granted McDermott what Marrone wanted. License to modernize all aspects of the football program and phase out some of the lifers from the kitchen. I don't know what side Whaley fell on, but I would assume it was not on Marrone's (the correct) side
  4. I consider levy-brandon-nix-whaley as a continuous regime. A series of cordial stepping asides and "handing off the reins". They were never serious about altering the leadership of the football program.
  5. Whaley was bad overall. He does seem to have some good attributes, and was probably somewhat of a victim of the organizational "group think" that took place.... although, him landing that position was a result of his willingness to work with the "group think" which makes him complicit. I also don't think he is wired to run an effective football program from the top, and his inability to get along with coaches was catastrophe, and media missteps bad. For years, decisions were made from murky places. Nobody could put their finger on it. Was it Wilson, Pegula, Brandon, Jauron, Overdorf, etc... nobody could really assign blame and people/fans/media would assign blame or absolve it based on their predetermined positions (such as giving Whaley credit for this draft, but absolving him from "Nix's last draft". Whenever the heat got too much for the Bills to handle, they would just throw another log on the fire and outsource all the blame, whether it was Donahoe, Levy, Nix, Marrone, Jauron, Gailey, Wilson himself, Brandon himself, etc... This management (I suspect has been driven from Brandon and Overdorf) has failed over and over again. Now, I it seems that ownership has truly handed over the reins of the franchise as well as accountability to McDermott and Beane. To me that is healthy, and it probably marginalizes the numerous voices from past management. They can craft their cohesive vision for a football team. I like how detail oriented and positive McDermott is. They are going to get the right personalities in, and McDermott is going to show them how to prepare. I still think this season will fall into the crapper eventually, mainly due to depth and not enough weapons on offense, but I am still very encouraged that these guys will get this team into the top third or so of the league on a perennial basis
  6. I thought it was a very well behaved crowd in the game. While we have the goofy fun stuff.... in recent years, we have avoided a lot of the ugly situations that have been captured in other stadiums (such as that Carolina incident)
  7. Its a bummer. Im not a huge year-round soccer guy, but love the World Cup Tournament. It wont be the same without the US participating
  8. No, I do not believe so. I am encouraged for their prospects next season though with a lot of picks and some cap space that will fill in some much needed depth
  9. I said 5-11 No, Im not disappointed. I dont think they go 2-10 the rest of the season. I still think with the depth issues, it will catch up to them... they will struggle to get to 8 wins... but I hope they continue to roll. A win Sunday and those 2 home games are going to be a party I dont get why people assume those with a negative prognosis of a season, game, player, etc actively root for the team to lose...
  10. its not just Darnold though. There is a pile of QBs who are outperforming him. I remember when the focus was on Jake Locker, then his final season was a tire fire. We have Mayfield, Falk, Rudolph, Rosen, Jackson, Allen, Thorsam, Browning... I think I could be sold on any one of those (at this point)
  11. Rams in la. Chargers to st louis. Solved Really though When you relocate a team, the best thing to do, probably is completely re-brand. You are trying to reach football fans in a city. The fans already identify with one team or another. Then you say "you are now a rams fan". Its not going to work for awhile until it gets generationed in. A new coat of paint with a team name and uniforms would probably attract more people... i hate to lose traditional nfl teams, but i dont like moving teams either
  12. Pats fans have started calling him "Stephone-It-In"
  13. Tolbert is the slowest guy on the field, and he lacks the speed/balance for power at this point. To top it off, he nearly fumbled away a drive that half the team worked their butts off for. They cant get McCoy much rest, and if he gets injured, this offense will be completely neutered. This was my one point of concern from yesterday. Kind of felt that for the first 3 games, but yesterday it was as clear as can be.
  14. Add me in with those who listened and didnt hear anything wrong. They seemed very happy with the victory. They allowed some of the 'devils advocate voice' (that we all have) such as Jones/Sanu, conservative playcalling, some fortunate calls that could have gone either way.... but overall it was very positive
  15. Tolberts the slowest guy on the field and his power running is gone. Not to mention he almost fumbled away a drive that the entire offense worked their butts off for. He is worthless and its clear they cant afford to give mccoy a break.... god help us if he gets hurt
  16. This is why i hope they are careful about our stadium. Kill the atmosphere and the fanbase erodes
  17. That road win vs a legit top team has eluded the bills all 17 years
  18. This guy is fun. Enjoy his videos. Cheesy but they make me laugh
  19. With Pearl Jam.... I don't think they would ever agree to play with muted instruments/lip sync. It also doesn't seem to be the kind of corporate/mainstream environment they like to support (although they seem to be softening up a bit on that front). I would also think the NFL would have (justified) reservations on whether or not Eddie Vedder would crowbar a political message and/or inadvertently drop the F-Bomb. A great set for the event would be Betterman, Alive, and Rockin in the Free World. Can even bring out a guest of some sort for the last one.
  20. I think foo fighters is probably the best choice. They are still prime, have a lot of tunes that are universally recognized, and they would have fun with it and dont take themselves too seriously. Pearl jam, my favorite is great on paper, but for various reasons, it will never happen. Green day would be a really good choice. There are some i could list off that arent realistic... like beck, primus, etc
  21. I got something called "Street Tacos" at the opener. They were the best thing I ever had there (which isnt saying a lot, but they hit the spot). Could have used some taco sauce tho
  22. Also factor in that the team is on a down-swing.... many/most are expecting not to compete this season, making the secondary market really cheap.... and the primary market was probably possible to get blocks of seats together. If the team was better, tickets would be much more and local Bills fans would likely be motivated to attend. Pittsburgh typically always finds their way in though.
  23. that is what you perceive. I don't expect a Broncos loss or any other loss so I can appear "correct". I thought they would get pounded without Dareus and Glenn... (actually I dont think I posted it here). I couldn't give 1 turd whether or not I am right. If the Bills win that is great. This team has proved time and time again that they cannot field a real competitive football team. This is what I have been groomed to expect. I still expect this to be a 7 win team, tops. I would be thrilled if they won 11. Very much prefer that.... or would have preferred that any other season that I haven't been able to watch meaningful football in December
