TSW 2.0 Poll - What should the Bills do at #30
Alphadawg7 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Have to admit...I came in ready to insta-click Grant...but the option to trade back 4 spots to 34 is really appealing given who is still on this board. I think I still have to go Grant, but I woudln't hate a trade back either. Your Jets trade is incorrect...has us trading 109 to get back pick 109 -
Oh yeah I get that, I was more just commenting about how you said you were surprised the trade up didn't get more interest...where I think the reason was likely the options in the poll were too expensive and lacked more appealing options using day 3 pick(s) to make a smaller move up. All good, these are fun regardless
-
As I mentioned before, IMHO it was overwhelmingly no because the options were costly trade up’s and left off the more likely trade up possibilities where Beane makes a small trade up using something like a 4th, like he has done multiple times. I voted no for these reasons and I think you would have had more interest if there had been some of those options where we use one or even two day 3 picks to make a move up while holding onto both our 2nds. Big move ups are less appealing this draft and have less value as the draft is light on the top end, but deep in those later first through the 2nd round type players with a lot of people with similar grades. So value isn’t there for a big move (unless someone surprising falls) and a small move up or staying out is both more likely and more appealing.

Bills halt contract negotiations with Cook
Alphadawg7 replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the Giants were offering pick 34 for Cook, he would already be a Giant as Beane would fly him to NY himself for that. So I cant see that rumor as having any substance to it. -
It should have been death with 30 years ago.

That has nothing to do with the fact his name is still hung on a wall where names are memorialized and celebrated for greatness. No he isn't, he is on the wall still for all to see. That doesn't mean having him on the wall for over 30 years since the murders wasn't a mistake. He murdered them over 30 years ago, not 15. He was a real monster who had a record of beating his wife before he also brutally murdered her and others. What he did on the football is now irrelevant. If Hitler was a soccer star before a monster, you wouldn't still have his name enshrined on stadiums. Another irrelevant comment...just because the degree of how they celebrate him vs other guys is different does not excuse the fact they are still allowing some sort of celebration of his legacy. My father was murdered when I was 18 years old. If some football stadium still had his killers name on the wall I would be disgusted and outraged. Leaving his name memorialized on the wall IS still celebrating and honoring him as a player when he no longer is worth of such an honor. If that was your daughter he killed, how would you feel about his name still being immortalized on the stadium for the past 30 years?

Winner winner chicken dinner...you sir win the internet today. Nicely done, I laughed out loud

Yeah I can see how this would make sense for the Giants, especially if they land Carter. And I can see how this could appeal to the Bears too if this trade went down given who is on the board, although we don't often see teams move that far back either, so would come down to how they value Thibs internally.
-
This is one of the trade offers I turned down at 9 because I didn't feel I could pass on Graham when he fell to 9. Main thing for me is that I am not as high on Thibodeaux as some, so his value isn't a 2nd rounder for me personally as I think he is a bit over rated. And that led to the value just not being enough there for me to pass on Graham and then drop to 34. But it was a solid offer from Kirby, just Graham was too much value at 9 to move out of the pick when he fell in the Saints lap.

With the 9th pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the New Orleans Saints select: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan CLICK HERE FOR HIGHLIGHTS We didn't expect Mason to be here for us, but we met with him anyway on the off chance the board fell in a way where he had a chance to grab him. While we considered 2 trade back offers, the value just wasn't quite there for us to pass up the opportunity to take what we feel is a top 5 player in this draft and a guy we can plug in next to Bresee to form a menacing duo for years to come on our DL. We just love his athletic ability, he is a guy that just wins in the trenches with an elite first step and high motor. We thank the teams for their valid and worthy offers, but the chance to take him was too strong and we couldn't be more thrilled with how this board fell. @gonzo1105 and the Bears are now on the clock.
-
The Saints have some plans at pick 9, but depending on how the board continues to fall, we could be open to considering a trade back...so we are putting that out there ahead of our pick that will likely be later today. DM to discuss.

You would have to trade the equivalent of "Josh Allen" to get him...in other words, the kind of draft package that would be for a major QB move. To get what? A WR for a team that runs an offense that isn't going to feature a feed the ball Alpha receiver? Or a CB in a draft where there will be very good DB prospects gettable at or near our pick without giving up a bounty? No disrespect bud, but there isn't anything about this that makes sense. In fact, if the Bills were going to gut their draft capital this year and next at the very least, Abdul Carter would be a more logical target, and even then it would cost so much that its still not realistic. So I would mark this down as essentially impossible.
-
I think the biggest issue, at least it was for me, is you only presented costly trade up options and left off what Beane has done multiple times before such as a 1st and a 4th for a smaller move up. I think that is a lot more likely than us using a first and a 2nd. We don't have a 3rd, I would be surprised a bit if Beane used one of our 2nd's to move up while we don't have a 3rd. I think if we trade up it will more likely be a smaller move up using our depth of picks on day 3.

Bears please...if not, I guess Saints or Chargers

With the 101st pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams select: Quincy Riley, DB, Louisville CLICK HERE FOR HIGHLIGHTS We are thrilled to see Quincy still here after we considered him earlier this round. He brings elite ball skills and was the best DB on the field at the Sr. Bowl. We love his potential at nickel to help bolster our 26th ranked pass D, but we also think, despite his size, he can play some outside as well. @TOboy and the he Lions are now on the clock.

Wide Receiver Train Full Speed Ahead- CHOO CHOO!
Alphadawg7 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
The issue for me though is that we were already the 16th most points PPG in NFL history and that was with: - Josh sitting week 17 - Bills tying NFL record for most wins by 20+ blowouts (where we often too the foot off the gas for a whole quarter, even a couple halves. There are only so many possessions a game, it’s not that easy to score “more” than we already do (also highest scoring team over past 5 seasons). And amongst the top 10 highest scoring teams in NFL history, only 3 won a SB and none of the top 4 did. So all offense hasn’t been the best remedy historically either. But…if we could have just made literally one more third down stop converting an eventual score into a punt and getting off the field, that would have been enough to beat KC in our last 3 playoff losses to them. Not to mention, our offense would have gotten more TOP from that too, giving us more opportunities to score even more points than we did in those 1 score losses. So I get where you are coming from, but I do think where this team is right now, it’s a lot easier to find just one or two more defensive plays a game then it is to find more scoring drives than we already have. Im hoping Bosa is playoff healthy as he hopefully can be a guy that can make those few plays we are lacking. Josh needs help from the defense or he is forced to be perfect…and even that hasn’t been enough (13 seconds for example) sadly. -
From Jalen to Jaylen... Hahaha worth it

I honestly was going to make the same pick...the value wasn't good anywhere else that made sense to the Rams other than WR and maybe one DB. But I felt like the WR options made more sense and he was one of 3 I was looking at and he was in the pole position. Saxion wasn't sure fit their mold with his stone hands despite his freak athleticism and Restrepo I felt was too early here. So honestly was very likely making the same pick, so you picking him had no dispute from me. Yeah, just fell in a period where I couldn't get away...funny and no biggie. And I was very likely making the exact same pick. Guys I thought would be there at other positions were gone. I was actually eyeing Arroyo or Fannin at TE earlier in this round, but both were gone by their pick.
-
LMAO...just finally was able to come back to this, of course my pick finally came around during a period I wasn't available and busy with work. He was on my short list anyway for the Rams, and was leaning his way. I had him Savion, and Restrepo I was considering along with DB Quincy Riley. So good pick lol And yeah no trade hurt the Rams as I think there were opportunities to trade down in the first as well as trade up on days 2 and 3.
-
I think Chargers would love for him to wind up one of their picks personally. Great pickup here, he has a big ceiling.
-
I haven't picked in like 9 weeks since the first round started lol...I welcome speeding it up haha

This guy seems to be in need of a place where you can go to be your best self. I just happen to know of a place... All kidding aside, it feels like a low risk, high reward type player. This is a guy who still has upside but has let his mistake take his opportunities away. I have full confidence in McD and this staff to either get this kid back on the right path or cut him if he just isn't reachable or getting there. We need CB help...the talent is there with this kid to where if he can get out of his own way and let the coaches do their job, he could really be a value given I seriously doubt this kid is gonna get offered much by any team at this point. His best offer is likely gonna be a 1 year prove it deal regardless who gives it to him. So I am all for kicking the tires on a cheap deal and see how serious this kid is about football. If he is, he would take a deal here where we have the competition available and on a team expected to contend for a SB. A bounce back year here can set this kid up moving forward either here or some place else. If he balks at that, then who cares, let him be someone elses problem. If he takes that opportunity and squanders it...then bye felicia, easy cut. But if he does the right things, he could be a steal

I only came here because of your screen name...my wife literally met Takeo Spikes today in Vegas at NAB and sent me a picture with him. She said he is "huge"...and I was like, hold up, what kind of "work" meeting was this? LMAO All kidding aside, she said he was really nice and told him her husband was a die hard Bills fan. He said Bills fan base is best in all sports
