I was previously on board with extending Cook...but now, this $15M per and his social media tactics of trying to do this in the public is turning me off. He is asking to be the highest paid back in the league when he is far from their level. He is a 2 down back because he is a liability in pass protection. Lets not forget, Allen kept calling Ty the best 3rd down back in the league too...a journey man RB being touted that much higher than a RB who wants $15M per year but can't unseat that journeyman on 3rd down who also isn't very big because Cook is a liability in pass pro and has a tendency to drop big passes. I think $30M over 3 years should be the range he falls in. Cook to me is not a guy who would do as well on another team, he isn't that Saquan, Mixon, Henry kind of RB that can succeed just about anywhere. He benefits greatly by Allen, this OL, and how the Bills run the ball. That makes him expendable. Everyone here says he is better than Davis, but Davis had a great game when he filled in for Cook when he was out. And while I agree, Cook is the better RB right now, look at what Davis and Ty did when given heavy work loads, they produced at a high level too. Cook is more a product of his environment than elite RB. And I hate how he is suddenly right out the gate trying to do this through social media and throwing out ridiculous contract demands while deleting the Bills. I would seriously consider trading him even though I had recently been saying I would like to extend him if the price was reasonable. Spend that money to help our god awful defense and at WR before you go overboard on spending on a 2 down RB.

Bills had the 16th most points per game of all time this year lol…most points per game of any team in the NFL over the last 5 seasons too. We just lost after scoring 29 against a team that had not broke 30 the entire season and a game later was down 34-0 late in the game of a blow out loss thanks to the Eagles defense. You want to worry about PPG than worry about our defense giving up 36 PPG in our 5 playoff losses the last 5 years. Worry about our defense being bottom of the league in first downs allowed and 3rd down conversions which takes away offensive possessions from the offense to score because our defense can’t get off the field and get the ball back. Yes we need to add a WR, but defense is absolutely a massive issue and by far the biggest reason we haven’t reached a SB and it’s not close. So we can’t keep putting a band aid on it and expect different results. We need to make some significant moves on defense, doesn’t mean don’t add a WR, it means we better also find a way to get better on defense or we are going to keep putting Josh in position to have to always be perfect, and that is a terrible place to put him in.

We had the 16th greatest offense in NFL History. Offense is not the problem you think it is. Some of you seem more concerned that we don’t score points the way you want to score points than if we score points. Because no one has scored more points than the Bills the last 5 seasons, we literally have the most points in the entire NFL.

There was a typo...its supposed to have said 4 of the last 6 in the first TWO rounds. Thanks for pointing that out, I will fix it. And as far as our first go, no its 3 of our last 5 because yes Diggs counts and so does Keon. In fact, its Diggs, Kincaid, and Keon...yes I get we traded back with Keon to make it "technically" our 2nd...but it was our first rounder that we used to get him, especially since Beane was taking him at 32 if it were not for Panthers 1 pick swap to where we get our same guy. I don't care about semantics like some others do, that was how we spent our first round pick...to get a WR regardless if it was at 32 or pick 33. And as I said above, we used 4 of the last 6 picks in the first 2 rounds (thats the last 3 drafts) on offense: Kincaid, Cook, Keon, O'Cyrus. Not to mention we already used this years 3rd on Cooper, also offense. The facts are that Beane and this team have prioritized offense for the past 3 seasons. The results: Highest scoring offense in the NFL over the past 5 seasons, including fielding the 16th highest scoring offense in NFL history this year and most in Bills history. And on the other side of the field? We have given up 35 points per game to the Chiefs in our playoff losses to them (4 of them), we fielded a defense that was bottom of the league in first downs allowed and 3rd conversions. We gave up 32 points to a team that didn't score 30 all season and that was down 34-0 in the second half of the Super Bowl a week later. It is unquestionable that defense has been the entire reason we have not reached a SB yet. KC has knocked us out 4 times, and 3 of those times they went on to lose the very next week where their average PPG is 17 compared to the 35 they average against us the week before.

Most those picks or signings were 3 to 7 years ago. You guys gotta stop living in the past. 3 of our last 5 first rounds picks were weapons for Allen. 4 of our last 6 picks in first two rounds were offense. One draft in the last 3 years was almost all offense. Yet there is a his myth we focus too much on addressing the D and the offense isn’t good enough. Meanwhile Bills have scored the most points in the NFL over the last 5 years. This years offense was the 16th best in NFL history and set numerous records as a team and as individuals. But on defense the Bills were almost dead last in both first downs allowed and 3rd down conversions. Bills have given up 35 points per game to the Chiefs in their 4 playoff losses to them. Yet the Chiefs are 1-3 in the next game after beating the Bills. And in those 3 losses, the Chiefs averaged just 17 points per game the very next week after averaging 35 against us. I get the concern based on the past, but not addressing the D is literally the worst thing the Bills could do this offseason. Our defense is the sole reason we haven’t been to the SB and it’s indisputable.

It’s like when we drafted Kincaid, I know for a fact from someone within the Chargers that Buffalo called to try and trade up with them. Chargers declined and had no interest in trading back as they were set in their guy. And it’s believed to have been to go get Addison. Just because one team wants to move up doesn’t mean the other team wants to move down. It’s like people around here have no concept of that when they play the “what if” or hindsight “should have” games.

I had BTJ and Ladd as the clear next best WR's after the big 3 of MHJ, Nabers, and Odunze. I loved Ladd and was actually terrified he was going to land in KC, and quite frankly was both relieved and surprised when they took Worthy instead. But as much as I loved Ladd, he felt redundant here after signing Samuel and having Shakir emerging. Bills were needing a guy on the outside and also needing some size and toughness in our WR room. So I never felt Ladd was the fit they were looking for and didn't expect us to draft him. I did however believe we would have traded up for BTJ if he reached 20 or lower and I was actually expecting a trade announcement from about pick 18 on even. When he got as close as he did and we didn't make a trade up to get him, I was a bit surprised as I thought he would be the only guy we would go up for realistically. I don't at all fault us for passing on Ladd, but I do think it was a mistake to not go up and get BTJ. Who knows, maybe Beane tried but was rebuffed, but at least nothing came out about us going up and the way Beane spoke post draft he just talked about trading back and made no mention of trying to make a small move up for anyone.

Browns will never take players back or contracts back, especially a high priced RB. They are in tank for 2 years mode to get out of cap disaster, worst in history, thanks to Watson's deal. They are going to stock pile draft capital that can return cheap contracts and be foundations of the future after the franchise destroying Watson impact is gone.

Not a chance Cook and his agent try for $15M...at least seriously enough to hold out. No one on planet Earth can possibly believe he would or should be paid that. BUT...it does make me concerned he is gonna want a bigger contract than we should invest in a RB. Now if we don't have any big contracts at WR, paying a RB higher money isn't much of an issue...until the time comes you need to pay a WR. For example, if we draft a rookie this year as our outside WR solution, he will be on a rookie deal, Keon is on a rookie deal, Shakir is on a rookie deal (although might get an extension this offseason), and Hollins is affordable. But if we try and sign Higgins, trade for DK, or find some other vet trade where there is more money at WR, then the RB contract is a problem. For me...I don't want to lock us out of WR money, so I would only extend cook if it was less than $10M personally. I like him, I do hope he stays, but the contract has to make sense. Davis is a promising RB himself, and this draft is loaded with enough RB talent to find a 1-2 punch to pair with Davis. And when you have this OL and Josh Allen at QB, you don't need a Saquan level RB to succeed here. In fact, I am quite skeptical Cook would live up to his deal on a lot of other teams if he got a deal north of $10M. Go spend the bigger money on Crosby or Garret.

Slick Rick about to be Bills most valuable non player person.

This was incredible. As I keep saying, Allen is a bigger MVP off the field than he is on it. -

Was it McD or Josh that threw the pass on the final drive that was batted down at the LOS to what was an open Samuel? Or that shifted the protection to the wrong side at the LOS on 4th down? Or that didn’t see Shakir on that 4th down? Or that couldn’t get a clean throw to a wide open Kincaid for a huge gain because he shifted the protection to the wrong side? I love Josh as much (or more) than anyone. But facts are facts. Allen had opportunities and thanks to some good defensive plays and smart defensive play calling, did not make the plays that were there to be made. And it wasn’t because of personnel, guys were open and even wide open. And this is the problem…our defense being the worst in NFL history in these playoff losses puts Allen to have to be perfect. That is a terrible position to put your QB in and it’s why the defense is what is failing Allen and this team the most. -

How about we stick to facts than incorrect generalizations. On the final series of downs, Josh had his pass batted at LOS to a wide open Samuel, had two wide open options in Shakir and Kincaid in the 4th down but Allen himself shifted protection to the wrong side putting himself under duress and having to heave a desperate throw instead of making an easy pass to either Shakir for a certain first or a huge gain with a clean pass to wide open Kincaid. It is inaccurate to blame the WR group for not coming through on the final drive. -
Thanks bud, never heard this style. Sounds like a lot of work to track, but it’s interesting. Keep me in mind next year, I’d try it out

Well, that is fair. But with our defense the way its been, you better have a 2 score lead when the Chiefs have the ball late in the 4th because Mahomes is the only QB in NFL history to have a 100% success rate to tie or take the game winning lead at the end of the 4th. No other QB even has a 50% success rate, Mahomes has a perfect 100% while also having the most chances, still 100% success rate. So lets say Allen and the Bills scored 1 more TD against the Chiefs...Bills would have been up 4 instead down 3. You really think our defense doesn't give up the game winning TD to Mahomes if there is any time left on the clock? What is easier...making just one more defensive play (which would have won all 3 of our last Chief playoff losses) to force a punt instead of the eventual score...or asking Allen and the 16th best offense in history to now score 2 more times a game just to have enough of a lead that our D doesn't blow it to KC like it did in 2022 when it gave up 2 TD's and a FG when there was under 2 minutes left in the game. For me...go get a game wrecker whose talent trumps scheme that is capable of just doing enough on 1 more play that forces a punt instead of allowing another 3rd down conversion that resulted in another scoring drive. That is much easier than trying to take make the offense the #1 offense in NFL history and asking Allen to be perfect all the time. -

First, lets be fair here...the Bills had the refs swing the game by a minimum of 11 points, possibly by 15 points in a game we lost by 3 midway through the 4th quarter. To put the Chiefs loss on the WR position is not fair at all, a game we still scored 29 despite the stolen possession by the refs...and against a team who had not scored 30 all year. And on our final series of downs, Allen had a ball knocked down to a wide open WR at the LOS, Allen missed seeing a wide open Shakir on 4th for a sure first down, and most importantly it was Allen who incorrectly shifted the coverage to the left on the 4th and 5 play that caused Allen to throw a hero ball...and to Kincaid who was also running totally wide open for a massive gain had he not shifted the coverage wrong and had time to throw a proper ball. So to put it on the WR position on the last drive is not reflective of the actual game in any capacity. Most importantly...when your defense gives up the most points in NFL history in their post season losses, you are making your QB have to be perfect. You want to be mad about the position Allen is being put in, that is where your frustration should be placed. Meanwhile, Mahomes with his 3 most underwhelming offenses of his career went to 3 straight SB's winning 2...why because his team didn't require him to always be perfect to win games, the defense gives him help as well as ST. So who did we miss on in the draft that was realistic to be chosen with our pick? It definitely wasn't Worthy who at no time was the type of WR we needed. Ladd was there, and check my history, I loved Ladd ahead of the draft and said him and BTJ were the 2 clear next best WR's outside the top 3. But, he also the kind of WR he projected to be felt more like a redundancy once we signed Samuel and already had Shakir. Bills needed more size and outside help. The only real mistake in the draft at the WR position was not trying to trade up for BTJ when he fell close enough. That was my target, I thought if he got in the 20's we should move up and would move up. I get why Beane was trying to move down rather than up to get more picks with our cap hits and so much turnover getting rid of age on the roster, so I don't have an issue with not moving up. But of all the gettable WR's, that was the only "miss", not trying to get him. Here is the most damning stat to the "but its the WR's" argument...The Chiefs are now 4-0 against the Bills in the postseason, but just 1-3 in games after eliminating the Bills in the post season. Chiefs PPG in their 4 wins against the Bills: 35 PPG Chiefs PPG in their 3 losses the game after beating the Bills: 17 PPG To even think for a second that offense is the root of our problems is absolutely wild to me. -

You can’t forgive Beane for delivering the 16th greatest offense in NFL history, Allen’s first MVP, multiple NFL offensive records as a team and individual all in 2024? You can’t forgive Beane for putting together the highest scoring team in the entire NFL over the past 5 seasons? Meanwhile you seem cool with 33 PPG our defense has surrendered (worst in NFL all time) in our 5 playoff losses the past 5 years because you never ever advocate for getting better there and instead insist our highest scoring offense is the problem. I honestly cannot fathom how you can think the issue is the offense and not the defense. -
Anyone on the Bills you think could be traded?
Alphadawg7 replied to KentuckyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have a lot of extra picks this year still, he doesn't "need" to get that 3rd back. Last year our team has cap issues with $31M in dead cap from Diggs alone, and then we shed a lot of players due to age and cap, he needed a lot of picks to help fill a lot of holes. This year is not the same situation, we don't have a ton of holes and we already have extra picks. He won't feel the pressure to get a 3rd back, so he doesn't need to move someone like Kincaid just to get it back. He could still of course, just saying its a very different situation than last year. -

Anyone on the Bills you think could be traded?
Alphadawg7 replied to KentuckyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't get me wrong, I would trade Kincaid for sure in a package for DK. But Seattle would need to want him and want to pair him with Fant, which is possible, but I still think thats probably not gonna be the case. And of course Raiders and Browns definitely aren't interested in Kincaid if they move Crosby or Garrett when they have stud TE's and can get multiple premium picks for their elite pass rushers. So that is where I am at...where does Kincaid trade makes sense? The big scenarios most proposed about the Bills don't really seem to make sense for Kincaid to be in the packages for said players. What did Beane say about Kincaid? I have been so busy, I missed that. -
Anyone on the Bills you think could be traded?
Alphadawg7 replied to KentuckyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was adamant about not drafting a TE that year after paying Knox, but, if they were going to then Kincaid at least made sense as more of a receiving weapon. And I do know for a fact they called the Chargers trying to trade up higher which the belief was they were after Addison, but Chargers had no interest in trading their pick. But, I think Knox is a good starting TE and a complete TE. He had 15 TD's despite his low target volume the 2 years prior to drafting Kincaid. Knox vs Kincaid: - Spread the ball, everybody eats offense, Knox is fully capable of being a starting TE. - Feature the TE as a primary pass catcher, then I think you stick with Kincaid who has more upside in that role. And seems we are going to remain an "everybody eats" type team after the record setting and MVP season we had this year on our way to the 16th best offense in NFL history. So, that would make trading Kincaid something to consider if the right package was there. That being said, I think it is really doubtful he gets traded based on the reasons below: We have a lot of extra draft picks already, we don't "need" more picks We don't have a ton of big holes this year, maybe the fewest in the Allen era with most the important people returning Kincaid is on a rookie deal, so trading him isn't some massive cap savings. We are coming off a season with a historic offense and an MVP for Allen, doubt they are thinking about taking away from it rather than just looking to add a downfield threat. Kincaid played hurt a lot of the season and dealt with nagging knee issues, they likely aren't looking at him as if he underperformed or is expendable. I have a hard time seeing Beane trade him for picks, we don't "need" them, especially since Kincaid is a cost effective weapon on a rookie deal. So what else is out there? I mean Bills chatter seems mostly centered around 3 potential big trades in Crosby, Garrett, or DK (none of which are even confirmed available). Raiders have no interest in another TE, and Browns are not likely going to want players back if they trade Garett, so neither makes any sense there. That leaves just DK really (Kupp and Deebo make no sense for us as they don't bring what we need at the WR position, which is outside deep threat), and that would still need to assume Seattle wanted him and Beane was willing to include him. IMHO, I think there is almost no chance Kincaid gets moved. Not impossible by any means, and not saying I wouldn't. Just saying I would be surprised if it actually happened for those reasons above. -
Let me put it this way...there wasn't even a moment in the game where my squares were like close. Per usual. Still 0 for forever for me lmao.
