  1. We just fielded the 16th highest scoring offense in NFL history this year...16 all time. The top 2 teams lost in the SB to defensive teams with meidocre offenses, both getting shut down, and one of the #1 offense getting blown out by over 30 points. The next 2 (Mahomes in 2018 and Lions in 2024) didnt even reach the SB. The offense has been the priority for 3 straight seasons. We also pick late every year. Once upon a time we were picking too late to get one of the pre-draft blue chip WR prospects who were all certain to be gone before our pick and Beane instead made the trade to go get a proven stud player at WR in Diggs. I suggest we do that again...go make a splash trade (as I do not think there is any great options in FA) for a difference maker on our DL. Then go sign Holland to shore up safety. Draft a WR, or make a move via trade or FA (not sure who is available in FA) for a WR and then draft a CB at some point in the draft. This is exactly what I try and do. We do not have a difference maker on defense. We got plenty of good players who fit the system, but we need an impact player, someone who can disrupt the Mahomes, Lamars, and Burrows of the world because those guys are going no where any time soon and we need to get past them every single year. Doesn't mean we don't address WR, it means a top tier WR changes very little for this team compared an impact player who can get the opponent off the field a drive or two more a game which would have been all the difference in our playoff exits. Its the only way anyone has beaten Mahomes in the playoffs in 7 years. Like it or not...this is now for as long as Brady is our OC (or possible future HC) is a spread the ball around offense. This team will benefit more from a guy who is dialing it up every play they are out there to slow down our opponents. We don't need to become the #1 D in the NFL, a difference maker on our defense who could just make a play or two more a game would be all the difference this team needs to get over the hump. A lot of people have this idea that some elite WR means we "score more points"...there are only so many offensive drives we get per game and we already score more points than anyone having scored the most points in the NFL over the past 5 seasons. Its not like we are not scoring most drives, we score A LOT. Bengals with Burrow, Chase, and Higgins score less than us. Miami with Hill and Waddle score less than us. Philly with Brown and DeVonta score less than us. SF with Aiyuk, Deebo, and Kittle score less than us. Minnesota with Jefferson and Addison score less than us. All of these are facts...there are no use case facts for going all in at WR to get over the hump...none. The only 2 teams of the 10 highest scoring all time that won a SB were the 2011 Packers and then all the way back in 1983 with the Redskins. And this is the era of offense we are in...most offense in history...those teams aren't winning SB's. Instead teams like the Patriots and Chiefs have dynasties whose offenses aren't top heavy at WR and where defense is a substantial part of their success.
  2. Well then maybe tell Josh (who said this himself) not to misread the defense on 4th and 5 and shift the protection away from the Blitz when Spags did the opposite of what was expected...then tell Kincaid to not drop the hero ball Allen still manages to get away that would have been caught in FG range. You can also tell Josh a tush push a perpetual forward motion low to the ground and to quit side stepping allowing time for the D to react...you know like he did all year but for some reason ran the most bastardized version in the biggest game of the year. While you are at it...call the NFL and tell them to get technology so the refs don't steal, not one, but two first downs from the Bills on the same set of downs 2 plays apart. And while you have them on the phone, you can let them know that Worthy/Bishop catch also wasn't a catch. Then, you can send in all the footage of the facemasks and holding the Chiefs didn't get flagged on too.
  3. Keep investing in defense? What year do you think is? 2021? We have used 4 of our last 6 picks in the first 2 rounds on offense and we already used our 3rd this year on Cooper too. It’s like you guys have been in a cave for 3 years while they kept investing in the offense. I mean one of those drafts was entirely offense except for one pick. 3 of our last 5 first round picks were spent on offensive weapons for Josh.
  4. You realize that model has failed not only recently but throughout history. Didn’t work for Mahomes in 2018 when he had the 3rd best offense in history… or Manning when he had the #1 offense in history…nor Brady when he had the #2 offense in history…nor the 2024 Lions who had the #4 offense in history…nor 8 of the top 10 offenses in history. Meanwhile all those offenses were mostly eliminated in the postseason or lost the Super Bowl to teams with tough defenses and mediocre offenses. We all love scoring points…but if you can’t get some stops you put the onus on your offense to be perfect.
  5. We had the highest scoring offense in the AFC, set multiple offensive team and individual records, and have scored the most points in the entire NFL over the last 5 seasons. Scoring and offense isn’t the problem you think it is.
  6. No, the point is nobody has beaten KC through a better offense in 7 seasons since Brady was in NE in 2018.
  7. I didnt say I want our defense on the field for the final drive...I said if our defense could get some stops throughout the game then we would be in control of the game instead of relying on a hero ball from our QB to a TE with bad knees. And no, the reason we lost was because the refs stole a possession from us (twice within 2 plays) when we had the lead and were already approaching FG range up 1 with a chance to go up 2 scores. Then our defense responded by letting KC drive the field and get a 2 pt conversion to put us instead down 7 midway in the 4th. The 2 highest scoring offenses in NFL history got shut down in Super Bowl losses to teams with mediocre conservative offenses. The 3rd and 4th highest scoring teams in NFL history led by Mahomes in 2018 and the Lions this year didnt even make the SB. Mahomes got smashed in the SB by the Bucs defense in his only SB loss. Last team to beat him in the playoffs held him to 3 points in the 2nd half which came on the final play or regulation at end of 4th to force OT. No team in the NFL has scored more points than us the past 5 years. We have reached the AFCCG just twice and lost 3 divisional games, two at home. I mean even when Josh Allen gives us the lead late it hasn't mattered. Josh Allen gave the Bills the lead with 1:54 left in the game...Bills went on to give up 10 points in the final 1:54 of the game and another TD in OT for a total of 42 points...just to see the Bengals hold that same team to 3 points in the 2nd half the week after in the AFCCG. The only teams who have been beating Mahomes in the playoffs have done so through defense.
  8. If our defense could get a stop and get to Mahomes we wouldn't have had to been down to the Chiefs on the final drive having to find a way to score against one of the greatest Defensive Coordinators in history. The last 2 teams to beat the Chiefs in the playoffs were leading the Chiefs in the 4th quarter. Bucs, who blew them out dominating them with their defense and the Bengals who held the Chiefs to just 3 points in the 2nd half, which came on the final play of the entire 2nd half at end of regulation as Benglas put the onus on the Chiefs to come back to extend into OT. How is it odd? People seem to think the only solution is to make our already top offense better...one that was already historic as a team and as an individual player in Josh...as a solution to the Chiefs problem. I was pointing out how that isn't the sure fire solution everyone seems to think it is given that even fielding the greatest offenses in history didn't translate to SB wins with the majority of the teams.
  9. I find it interesting that everyone seem to blame WR's, Worthy trade, etc for our short comings. Meanwhile: #1 offense in the AFC and 2nd in the NFL only to Detroit who the 2024 Lions were the 4th best offense in NFL history. Offense set or tied a number of NFL records such as least negative plays, most wins by 20+ points, etc. Allen set numerous individual records. The Bills have scored the most points in the NFL over the past 5 seasons. But...offense is the issue for so many of you? Meanwhile, the last team to beat the Chiefs in the playoffs were the Bengals, who only did so by holding Mahomes to 3 points in the 2nd half...a week after the Bills gave up 17 points to the Chiefs in the final 3 minutes of that game where they scored 42. Bills just this Sunday scored 29 points against a tough defense and a team that offensively had not scored 30 the whole season...yet we gave up 32 to them and lost because of it. Oh and the team before the Bengals to beat the Chiefs...Bucs in the Super Bowl where the defense dominated Mahomes and the Chiefs offense. If you need to field the greatest offense in NFL history to get to the SB, then that is a dead a** sign that there are BIGGER issues with your team. And even having one of the greatest offenses in history has done very little for other teams. Only 2 of the top 10 offenses in history even won a SB, several didn't even reach one. #1 offense - 2013 Broncos over took the 2007 Pats as the best offense in history and got blown out in the SB by the legion of boom and a run first Seattle offense. #2 offense - 2007 Pats were the then greatest offense in history and got shut down by a team with a mediocre offense but elite D-Line in the SB. #3 offense - 2018 Chiefs was Mahomes best statistical season ever and doesn't even make the SB. #4 offense - 2024 Lions didn't even make the SB. The only 2 in the top 10 all time to win a SB were the 2011 Packers (5th all time) and the 1983 Redskins (8th all time). We are, and have been, an elite offense...our achilles heal is our defense has no difference makers, no closers, no one to disrupt the greatness of the Chiefs and Mahomes. The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same things and expect different results. Meanwhile, the Chiefs with a mediocre cast around Mahomes on the offense the past 3 years are now playing for NFL history and a 3rd straight Super Bowl.
  10. Hollins, Ty Johnson, and Gilliam will all likely be back.
  11. That wouldn't work either as there would be 6 wild card teams, and 4 divisional winners. Round 2 would leave you with 7 teams again...4 divisional winners, and the 3 that won the Wildcard rounds. And actually I was incorrect about 10 teams working as that would leave you with 2 teams from the bye and the 4 winners from round 1 for a total of 6 teams...giving you 3 teams the round after, so still doesn't work, so I was mistaken. Seems only real way to do it is with 6 teams and NFL isn't going to back track away from a playoff game.
  12. For those who don't agree or are laughing at you, let me remind them we play a 17 game season now, and many teams are still playing that 17th game for seeding reasons. So a one team bye is a pretty hefty advantage for the one team. The issue is, you either have to go back to 6 teams and the NFL is never going to take money off the table, they are trying to milk these guys for a penny they can. So I am guessing the 1 team bye is here to stay...unfortunately.
  13. Cooper did jack s**t in most the games he was here too...thats our offense, not the player. And people need to relax a bit on Worthy's game where that big catch wasn't even a catch, ball hit the ground, and if the refs are going to ignore that then Bishop had possession at the time they hit the ground and hits ball not Worthy's. How it held up as a Worthy catch is as big of a mystery as how did they not give Kincaid the first when he was a half yard past the marker, followed two plays later by how the hell was that not a first down by Josh.
  14. In a word...yes.
  15. I agree how it was a mistake he wasn't more involved especially on the final drive...and I will admit, I wasn't sure about resigning Cook before the season began, wasn't convinced he could be the every down back just on size and stuff. Now, after this season, after him being so effective against stingy run defenses, seeing how essential he was against KC and the lack of more involvement negatively affected the offense, I am all for extending him. I still would want that to be under $10M per year, but I think if we can sign him under $10M per its a worth the signing at this point.
  16. There are only 3 words as to why we can't get over the hump: Reid. Mahomes. Refs. Reid - At this point, Reid has cemented his place in discussions about who is the GOAT as an offensive mind and HC. Not saying he is for sure the GOAT at either, but he 100% has a seat at the table. And you can add Reid and Spags have a seat at the table to discuss the GOAT HC and Coordinator pairings of all time. Mahomes - I mean if his career ended today, he would already be a lock for top 3 QB's all time and a seat at the GOAT debate table as well. Refs - Look, I am not diminishing the greatness of the Chiefs by refs, but the reality is they have benefited many times for favorable calls and non-calls. All teams get these, its not unique to the Chiefs. But the problem is when a team is as good as the Chiefs, even a single bad call or non-call that goes in favor of the Chiefs can be the difference in the game because they simply do NOT make mistakes in crunch time in game winning moments. So when these happen against the Chiefs, they are substantially more impactful than most and those moments stand out and are much more remembered to feel like it happens all the time. And make no mistake about it...the Bills are not in the Super Bowl this year because the Refs stole 2 first downs from us within 2 plays that swung the game. Kincaid had the first down by a half yard clear as day. Then coaching plays a role where McD doesn't challenge when we should have and instead rushes to catch them off guard on a tush push which had worked so well all season, but the bastardized version they were running on Sunday was not. Big coaching mishap there because it led to the 4th down where Josh got the first, and first ref gave it to him before another ref took it away and then somehow didn't over turn it in review when it was clear as day he got there. Instead of going up potentially 2 scores on that drive, KC goes down and goes up 7. That took us from the drivers seat to now chasing the Chiefs at the end of the game, about as bad of a position anyone can be in late against the Chiefs And while we still had a chance, the odds were stacked much higher against us then if we had gone up 2 scores in the 4th putting the pressure on us to be perfect the rest of the game or go home.
  17. End of the day, its just a game, the fog never lasts too long for me even when the gut punch in the moment is big. And now, (DISCLAIMER: About to get sappy)...I have 2 boys under 2 years old now...so the lingering pain of the games doesn't really exist for me anymore as I just look at them and my incredible wife and remember just how blessed I am with them and then nothing else really matters, no matter what the issue is. And with my wife, I mean I am what seems to be a rare specimen these days where I am not only beyond happily married, but still madly in love with her and sill have a massive crush on her. So for me, that is the only team that matters to me even though in the moments after the loss I was just gutted. I will say this though, the worst part was not having one more game with my oldest son who is 20 months old. During the Chiefs game it was the first time he was cheering, like yelling GOOOOOOOOO along with me and wife during the game and even trying to yell GOOOO Buffalo but couldn't quite get Buffalo right. Would have killed to have one more game of that as by the time next year gets here he will be full talking and it won't be the same.
  18. You mean like the catch that wasn’t a catch?
  19. Notbing about the game changed anything about the worthy trade. He is nothing like Hill, people have to stop making this comparison.
  20. Same, it wasn’t even a tush push anymore, it was absurd
  21. And this is the difference between good coaches and great coaches. While they set this up the Bills kept running the same bastard version of a disaster tush push into the same gap over and over again where the Chiefs were selling out to stop.
  22. I am hoping we go after Holland at S, and I think its possible we will
  23. I would do this trade, Elam just doesn’t fit what they want to do here and we need more size up front
