I agree as there will always be a heavy asterisk on this season in the absence of these losses. I think there is no avoiding the “light” asterisk that will always be there. Bless the Bengals fans and organization as they have shown nothing but class but honestly I think from a football perspective they got screwed.

Yeah it is unusual that a GM gets hired and then doesn’t get to pick the coach. Beane and McDermott show it is not unprecedented. It is, however, not the norm.

To me the NFL is handling this the best way they can. No matter what they do there will be imperfections and reasons to raise objections.

So far in the 2022 - 2023 season, the following coaches have been released: Matt Rhule, Carolina Panthers Frank Reich, Indianapolis Colts Nathaniel Hackett, Denver Broncos As always - whether a specific coach or situation requires its own thread sits as a judgement call on the part of the original poster and the mods. However, we will lean towards consolidation.

He also had exceptional medical attention from just seconds after his cardiac arrest. You can easily postulate that these factors should improve his odds of recovery ❤️‍🩹
