Just a thought, but if Andre Smith was able to be that dominant in college with a poor workout regime and little dedication, I bet he could be a quality guard in the Pros with just a little bit of work.

Damn you Chris Kelsay, why did you accept that bonus. -
If no other team bites, sign him long term. He is only going to cost more to keep around at the end of next year.

I caught a lot of GT games this year (4-5) for the sole purpose of watching Johnson. I never saw him take a play off. I think that comes from him holding his backside contain on run plays/options (unlike our friend Kelsay). But once the RB broke the line of scrimmage he made a lot of plays chasing the play down from behind. He absolutely dominated vrs Virginia and E. Monroe, a potential top 10 LT. People bring up his porduction, but the thing is he was productive when he was on the field. He was not a full time, every down player - it seemed to me that GT ran 3 DEs that they rotated in for equal time. I assumed this was to keep guys fresh, Johnson was clearly the best of the three. I also like Johnson because he often lined up at LDE on many occasions, he could instantly start over Kelsay IMO. He has all the physical tools to be great, and I think he will be a force, but he seems to have a lot more risk involved than Brown/Orakpo. He just seems like the type of player who will be much more productive at the pro level than he was in college, I have no problem takin him at 11.

Bills line coach at Oklahoma practice today

Robinson is not so good either. He has one great play and stinks it up for 2. Got benched during the bowl game this year for being terrible. I think that he has become overrated because of the success of the O this year. -
Man, TO is so F'ing cool.

There are still good FA's to be had on defense

All but one of those LBs are said to be Tampa 2 guys almost exclusively. That sore helps the Bills. Now will they do anything about it or just ride the TO enthusiasm and think "we have made of a splash to sell tickets, we are done". -
Matthew Stafford maybe the #1 overall selection to Detroit

No one will trade with the Bills to take a QB. There is no need to jump past teams who wont be taking a QB anyways. Den, Wash, NO, Hou, and SD dont need a QB. A team may trade with Hou or SD to jump ahead of the Jets, Gears, Bucs, and Lions second pick, but there is no reason for a team to trade up that high for a player who will fall later. You may see a team move ahead of the 9ers, and I hope they do so another player falls, but I dont think so. I dont see why the Lions would take a QB #1. If they pass on a QB at 1, one of the top two could be had later on, maybe having to trade up for him but still a better alternative. -
I draft Bobby Bouche - Southwest Central Luosiana State, and trade my second round pick for Shane Flaco. Bouche can play OLB and really should fix our pass rush, and Shane is a championship winning QB who always wants teh ball when the game is on the line.

I agree with you.

The Bills signed Terrell Owens because...

Man, if TO is going to win us 10 games by himself, he better learn to get 15 sacks, block for Trent WHILE running his routes, and become the HC and OC. Adding one player did not make this team lead by DJ a playoff caliber team. -
Leodis McKelvin should improve

You guys are nuts. We add one player and people have us going from drafting in the top 3, to division champs? We still have no pass rush, no coaching, a young secondary, 1/3 or a LB core, and a RB who will miss some games due to suspension. TO will make for the most publicized and exciting 4-12 season in NFL history, not much else. -
i am looking forward to t.o. calling guys out

Only on the Bills could someones worst attributes be a positive. My one worry is that he kills Trents already shakey confidence. Love the signing though. -
A pure Russ Brandon PR marketing move.....

The Bills didnt even try to hide this. The text from the bills I recieved last night mentioned the signing, then the last sentence... "the ticket office has extended hours Sunday..." -
There is a video interview on NFL.com with Adre Smith adressing his situation -- leaving the combine and not working out. Pretty good video. If the game tape warrent the #1 overall pick like a lot of "experts" say, then I cant argue much with the selection of him at 11. We need OL help and the top DL prospects are likely to be gone.

So not knowing who Jason Babin was exactly, I googled him. His Wikipedia page I found to be interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Babin If you scroll down to the bottom, it says that he signed with the Bills March 6, 2008, which is clearly untrue. It says he signed a 3 year contract worth 12 million dollars. So I am assuming that it must be a typo because listed right before it is his time in KC. Because the news of him visiting just came out, I am assuming the poster on Wiki must have some kind of inside knowledge to have this up before the news of him visiting was even released. I will be itnerested to see if he signs, specifically for 3yrs/12 mill - anyone is better than Copelan Bryan

I had the same thought the other day. Hey guys, just so you know, expect most of your DL targets to be drafted before we pick at 11. The teams in the top 10 have huge pass rush needs, Det, KC, Cle, GB, SF, Oak, Cinci, they all need pass rushers. Add in the fact that a lot of other top 10 rated guys are falling - Crabtree, Andre Smith, the QBs, even Jenkins hurt himself with a slow 40. Now we are hopeing that Raji, Orakpo, or Brown fall, but I dont see it happening with those teams drafting before us. So who do we choose? Cushing? Jerry? One of the top T's? I think A. Smith could have a lot of value at RT or could become the next Shawn Andrews at guard. If not one of the other tackles could play RT and move walker inside, however I like Smith the best because he is the one best suited to play guard or RT because he is a bigger stronger mauler and the others are more finesse pass blockers. The thing about the OL is that guys can play a handlefull of diff positions. If Andre Smith cannot play LT but is a pro bowl guard great, lets draft him.

No worries, Freddie Keiaho is visiting OBD today. Who is Freddie Keiaho?

Scout.com article lists Buffalo as a fit for T.O.

The Bills could not be more irrelevant in the scope that is the NFL. We need a reason to be relevant as much as we need to be good (and no they are not entirely the same thing). TO would give us exposure nationwide, whether its good or bad who cares at this point. -
Is that why we suck? In unrelated news I heard Bobby Bouche is available.
-
You dont get it. If you did, you would of never have made the comment. You need two starting corners, and yes we have two for this year, but what about next? If the Bills follow their current trend McGee will walk and we wil be drafting another CB to replace him, rather than a DE, C, TE, or LB. Do you think the ever so cheap Bills are going to extend McGee for less than $5.75 Mil a year? You also seem to think that have three CBs that can start is a bad thing.
-
The Bills would have had what seems like a hundred million dollars left. The Skins went into the off season with 8 Mill in cap space, signed a guy to a 7yr/$100 deal (30 mil or so in the first 13 months), and a guy to a 6yr/$56 deal. Then they cut two guys so they could sign their draft picks. It seems to me that the cap cannot be measure in pure numbers because the math just does not add up. If we spent about half the money on those two as the Skins did on their guys, Id estimate it would have taken up $4 Mil of NFL cap space.
