Caldwell the Most impressive Center at Senior Bowl?
High Mark replied to Stl Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everyone should note that Caldwall, the roadgrading center from Alabama did not have the opportunity to go agaisnt Ragi all week. Seems that the North team centers pretty much handled their business, except for Raji. I couldnt take watching the game online, and did not see it, but how did Caldwell do against Ragi? Secondly, If Mack, Unger, and Caldwell are all very talented cetners, one of them will be there in the second. If the Bills determine they are high on the big board they will take one. -
Say what you will about him, but there is no way he lasts till the 6th like some are thinking. A freshly torn ACL Dennis Dixon was drafted in the 5th round last year, and Pat White has a lot more value outside of the QB position then Dixon had/has. No way White gets through the 4th, I would deffinatly say third. As for the Pat White scrabling thing. He doesn't have to be Mike Vick rushing for 1000 yards in a season. But with his ability, he can be like a Romo/Rothlesburger/McNabb and really avoid sacks and extend plays. As for his passing, the Sr QBs pretty much suck. As a pure passer alone, Pat White is showing he may be the 4th or 5th best passer amongst all the QBs. If thats true, why wouldnt a team take a run on a guy with the added skill of scrambling, when worst case scenario he becomes a good wr/kr? Scrambling got JP Losman drafted in the first round...

I totally thought the senior bowl was today
High Mark replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The stream was terrible. very blurry and lagged all day. I couldnt even watch it. -
I personally think Vilma who be a sick weakside backer with his athleticsm and speed. I personally like Poz inside as well.
-
Amen brother. Dude is mobile too.
-
If you guys like Cushing, keep an eye out for Nic Harris tonight. I have been preaching him for the whole season, now I think he will show up big time playign LB for the first time.
-
Because of his value in other areas, and of his improved passing at the Senior Bowl Practices, I would say 3rd round. Depending on how he plays in the game, and throws at the combine he could move up a round or drop one, but I dont see him dropping any lower on his other talents alone.
-
Pat White. Dude could play some Single Wing for us right off the bat. He really improved his passing technique his senior year, and from what I have heard looks great in the pocket at the Senior Bowl. Has value outside of the QB position as well.

Wy would we target Maleuga. O yes... because we like to see our LBs burnt in coverage every week. Draft a LB worth a damn in coverage. Nic Harris or Brian Cushing
-
I just dont get why so many want Maleguga so bad. I just dont really get it, he is a bigger slower LB (quick yes, but top end speed is lacking) who plays the run well but cannot cover that well. So pretty much we would have three Lbs, who are slower, and not as good in coverage as they need to be. All three of them would be better off blitzing than covering, yet we never blitz our LBs. I have been saying for a long time we need a LB who can cover (insert nightmares of Mitchell getting burnt by RBs here). I have been preaching for Nic Harris of Ok. I have read that he coverted to LB for the Senior Bowl and has looked very good there, particularly in coverage. I think he will be around in the 3rd, deff the 2nd. Brian Cushing has also looked great in coverage (from what I have read). Outside of those two I have not heard of any LB being that successful in coverage. We need a Ernie Sims or Cato June type player, not a Trotter or Mitchell type.
-
Because he routinely plays the DE position when they run a 4-3, or 3-3 on third down situations. Didnt you see him get those sacks vrs the Steelers, and the one where he injured himself the week before, he was lined up at DE.... why is that so hard to understand?

Caldwell the Most impressive Center at Senior Bowl?
High Mark replied to Stl Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lets wait till the senior bowl to judge these guys 100%. The two pac-10 guys have been getting blown up by Raji, lets see how Caldwell fares agaisnt him. Has anyone heard about the C from Penn St? -
Would you trade Lynch for Boldin?
High Mark replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im not argueing the point that WR are more valuable than RB, Im not sure anyone is debatign that (they are). You are spot on in saying that a Boldin is more useful than a Lynch because his position is much harder to dominate, and RBs are a dime a dozen, any rookie can fill in. However your argument about how Jackson is better than Lynch is like a blind guy shooting a cannon... completely off the mark. -
Would you trade Lynch for Boldin?
High Mark replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can name a lot of things Lynch is better at than Jackson. Power, size, Leg Drive, Short Yardage runs, top end speed, more elusive, lateral movement/quickness, never tackled by arm tackles, never tackled by one defender, making people miss in the open field, and hitting Canadian women with Porsches Maybe the Cards share your opinion about Jackson and we can trade him for Boldin... -
Arm Chair head coaches/GMs, UNITE!!!

FA - Sign Peppers and Suggs to play DE- Cut Schobel and kelsay. - Sign Brown to play Center - Resign Greer, Youboty, Peters and Chambers- Possibly Cut Walker or Dockery (Chamers starts) Draft - BJ Rajiji - Chase Coffman/Pettigrew (may need to trade up) OR trade 2nd rounder for Anquan Boldin/Kellen Winslow (maybe both players, using next years picks) - Best DE/OL prospect (TE if trade for Boldin, and dont get Winslow) - Nic Harris, OK (College Safety/LB, Converts to WLB in NFL) - Pat White, QB 1st, WR second Fire Dick, Hire Les Miles, LSU, HC Gruden, OC Bruce Smith, DC Pipe Dreams.... -
I agree. DE's are needed, but Dt is too to a lesser degree. I also believe that 6'4'' 255ish players that are good are pretty abundent (there are 4 or 5 of them in this draft alone that are round one talents), but 6'2 330lb guys who are good and can move are much more rare. If he can be that mobile and dominant at 330, he will prob be taken before 11, but if not he should get strong consideration.

We can get Leonard back?
High Mark replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lets go after Brown instead, or hell get them both here. Add Suggs and Scott too. -
Didnt see this posted yet, and I didnt look for a link, but it was just a breaking news entry onto sports center. They said that 95% of ownership now belongs to some guy named Ross. Does this mean Parcells can now opt out of his contract? I heard before that it was a possibility if the current owner sold majority ownership of the team. Not like the Bills would sign him, but having him out of the Dolphins front office is a plus.

I think you will see the Lions taget someone on the Line, Prob D line (New Coach - defensive - will want to build a team like his old one in Tenn). Spagnoloa will target a pass rusher to work with who is there and build his D in St. Louis Dont kid yourself, the Chiefs are most likely going to target a pass rusher, too (I think they had 12 sacks or soemthing terrible this year) Cleveland will be tempted to add one of the Tweener guys for their 3-4. Oakland needs a pass rush. Green Bay will look at DE too SF still needs a top rush LB for their 3-4. And the Bills pick.... My point is, if there are ANY DE/Tweener types worthy of a top 10 pick, they will be gone by the time the Bills get to pick. No DE worth a top 3 selection will make it out of the top 3. No DE worth a top 7 will make it past Oakland and so on. Some team may even look to trade up and snag someone on our radar (D.Harvey). I expect the usual to happen to the Bills, we sit back and watch the impact rookie/pro bowler get drafted a spot or two ahead of us (Roethlisberger, Patrick Willis, Peppers).

I want some Snot Dripping, Deranged, Criminal Thugs
High Mark replied to Tonawanda Troy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why not some hard nosed SOB's that are also high character guys, like Dawkins or Polamalu? Hell aside from "allegedly" killing someone, Ray Lewis too. Or a guy like Ed Reed? Dawkins and Polamalu play intense and hard, hit harder, and are still guys the rest of the league can respect. Ray Lewis is the same way and really fires up his team. I dont think our D has one guy that talks some sh*t or has a tough attitude. If anyone did talk some sh*t, they couldnt back it up. I have said this before and gotten no response. I want Nic Harris from Oklahoma. He is a sh*t talkin BAMF who can back it up. He is 6'3'' 230lbs, and plays a S/LB highbrid position called the "Roy Back" (named after Roy Williams, Cowboys S). I have said that the Bills need a COVER linebacker to go alongside our run stuffers in Poz and Mitchell, someone who could cover a TE or RB on third down (insert images of Mitchell getting toasted here). We could convert this guy to WLB and I think he will be great. A bigger, faster version of Ernie Sims. The best part, is every draft site you look at his him rank 10th or lower as draft elligible safeties, meaning he could be had in the 3rd or more likely 4th round. -
USC QB Mark Sanchez set to declare for the draft
High Mark replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sanchez was heads and shoulders better looking than Bradford from my point of view this year. That being said, I dont think either was really ready for the NFL because of limited starting experience. I will say however, Bradfords stock may not of gotten much higher, but I think it was higher than Sanchez's. Now that Bradford is out, and I dont think Stafford is the greatest, I see Sanchez being the top QB come April, even if he is lacking starting experience. -
The evidence is really starting to pile up
High Mark replied to lets_go_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never liked that reasoning. I dont care how much money is invested where, you need to spend money in areas of weakness. Maybe we can invest more in the DL because we have less invested in the LB, or OL, or WR or where ever. Bottom line is the DL needs improvement, so adress it. On the other hand, with my very optimistic view, I see the Bills drafting in the top 6 next year. As we have no real chance to make the playoffs under Dickie J, I see this as a 2 year rebuilding process. We will be able to take a top DE in 2010. So we can either get two top DE's two consecutive years, or get a 10 year starting center this year, and a top DE next year. I prefer two DE's, but I dont really mind either way. If we can draft a probowl center at 11, that is not a reach.
