The end of the Mayan calendar is said to coincide with a galactic alignment in which the Sun will align with the center of the Milky Way galaxy. It is said that this rare event occurs once every 26,000 years and some predict it could have potentially catastrophic consequences. The theory goes that on the day of the winter solstice in 2012, the Sun will be aligned with the center of the Milky Way . This alignment could mean that energy which typically streams to Earth from the center of the Milky Way will be disrupted on 12/21/12 at 11:11 p.m. Universal Time. Just call me Nostradamus

Official 2008 AFC Playoff Race Thread
High Mark replied to Typical TBD Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It has really become a 4 horse race for the final wild card. Chalk Indy up as one spot, they are good and have such an easy schedule, its is pretty much done. That leaves Balt, NE, Miami, and Buffalo. We cannot afford to lose any of our AFC matchups because it really will hurt us with the tiebreakers. We can catch up to NE and Miami with our shcedule, and Baltimore has got to be the luckiest team ever as they aren't good, although their D is ok. We have a chance, but one game vrs a terrible team doesn''t give me anough confidence in our terrible coaching staff. -
For the Wildcard: the second tiebreaker for teams in the same division is conference record. http://www.nfl.com/standings/tiebreakingprocedures

I agree. I really doubt we make the playoffs, we are in too big a hole. But we are still in the race if you want to punch the numbers, even after Indy won last night
-
YES!! It is such a revolutionary concept, Im glad the Bills coachs are so smart......

Man, I wonder if the Colts will want to trade Manning after a few bad games in a row... Philly is retarded, McNabb is a great QB. He has never had a WR, who stuck around at least, and they have never established the run in Philly. McNabb will take the Vikings the the superbowl next year if it happends.

I know all of you who watch the games for yourself are thinking it, so Ill come right out and say it. Cassel is better than Brady. 90% of it is the system, its all screen passes and dump offs with a hail mary to Moss in between, a competant HS QB could win a game in that system. I have seen Cassel make so many more plays this year than Brady has done in his career, ala that throw to moss for OT vrs the Jets. Either way niether is as good as their numbers. Cassel>Brady.

Our linebackers suck.
High Mark replied to My Friends Call Me Tebucky's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mitchell cant cover anyone in space. The coaches need to realize this and not let him get in a position where he has to cover an RB all alone. He is good vrs the run and great as a blitzer. He should only be on the field on passing downs if he is going to blitz. Poz I think is playing well. He is the onlny player who doesn't miss tackles. He has a lot more tackles than the stats say. Ellison is nothing more than a bad backup. I still have a high opinion of DiGorgio, I hope to see him replace Ellison next year, because I doubt we get another starting caliber LB. -
Well, first we have to hope we play well the rest of the year. Even if we do, I still think we dug ourselves too big a hole... Go Bills
-
I wish the coaches kept Crowell off IR. He woulc have missed two games, and I bet he would have made that tackle on that 60 yard run on Monday Night. Schobel has been out weeks, put him on the IR and get a DE who is not injured. We still need help there, and you cant get worse than Kelsay/Denney.

I tried to find the thread, no luck, but its irrelevant. The wildcards go to the teams with the best overall records. The Bills theoretically could finish 11-5. For them not to make the playoffs, two teams, who finished 11-5 or better, would have had to not win their own respective divisions, and hold tiebreakers over the Bills. At 11-5, first tiebreaker is division record if it’s between division opponents, conference record otherwise. Indy winning tonight does not guarantee that two teams will be 11-5 or better, not win their own divisions, and hold tiebreakers over an 11-5 Buffalo. That is the only way to mathematically rule the Bills out of the playoffs... An Indy win clearly does not do this. We have a chance win loss or tie.

How long has Turk been up in the booth?
High Mark replied to d_wag's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, someone has to be up in the box and at a minimum be relaying the D alignment to the playcaller. Kepp him up in the box, let him call a good some good plays for once. This was the best gameplan I have seen from the Bills in a long time. Hopefully the worst D in the league had little to do with it... -
McKelvin is the next Devin Hester.
High Mark replied to marauderswr80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cant say enough about his improvemnt this year. In the pre season he was clueless and taking a lot of bad angles. Now he is running better routes than the WR's he is covering. The only thing I noticed he MAY have done poorly, was the blow coverage on the big catch my Gonzo... Leodis was on that side of the field, but I have no idea if it was his responsibility or not. Not sure what coverage was called, could have been him, or someone else. Either way, he is a lock for D-player of the week in my opinion. NOTE: I just saw, the Colts center right now is a 7th rounder out of UB. GO BILLS/BULLS -

Tony Kornhiezer should have his lower jaw removed to prevent the downfall of the civilized world. He is the anti-christ. -
Anyone Else Get Really PO As The Game Went On?
High Mark replied to grog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We could have beat every team we have played so far with that gameplan. We have been in every game Edwards has finished, even the one he didn't. Its about time the Bills coaches went with a proven way to win games, establish the ran, pass when the D gives it to you, and use playaction. It took 6 weeks but maybe they learned. We can beat every team on our schedule, but I dont have any confidence in these coaches, and no reason to believe they will put us in a position to win those games. Go Bills -
Do you watch the games? There isn't a hole every play. He makes his own rules 80% of the time. Watch a game from an endzone view and you will see. If you do not learn after that, I pity you.

A Few Thoughts About The Game
High Mark replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chambers played RG for Butler after Butler left the field, sometime in the second quater I believe??? They never showed replays of Peters penalties, but I didnt see anything, even on his "false start" which apparently I missed? Trent to me played pretty much the same as he has the last few weeks untill the game was blown open. The real difference was the playcalling and gameplan. We would have won all of our divisional games with that gameplan. Yea its the Chiefs, but play action works. Being under center on short yardage works. At least the coaches can figure it out after 5 weeks. We opened ut up with some deep passes too. Edwards should be back with this type of play calling, now stick with it and win some more games. O yea and can we cut Kelsay yet? -
Sometimes there isn't a hole to find. That is when he gains yards al by himself. Do you even watch the games??? If so, try watching from an endzone view if you can... then you will see just how good this guy is
-
Where did you dream that up? An Indy win wont keep us out of the playoffs if we finish 11-5 or 10-6. Chances of us losing only one more game... below 50%, but Indy winning does not eliminate us, just makes it harder.

Do the Bills Draft a ...............................
High Mark replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lets get a Pass rush and a Center first. But if we throw in the towel on Trent, Harrell is the best of the best. Listen to the ESPN draft cheese dicks if you want, but I can watch for myself. Stafford is not top of the first round material. McCoy is end of the First round material. Harrel makes every throw, has great pocket presence, knows when to throw it away.... the list goes on. Either way the good things Trent has done this year still warrent him a shot once we get a running game and some play action passes. He has brought us back in every game hes been in when the coaches have let him. I havent Given up on him yet. -
A General QB question that relates to the Bills
High Mark replied to StupidNation's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its called touch. JP had absolutely none of it. Trent has more of it. It requires better timing because with the ball in the air longer, the DB's can close on the ball. There is a time and place to use some touch, and also a time when you need a lazer. Those QB's are hall of famers so I would expect them to have great touch. Manning has some good touch, so does Pennington. There is more than one way to skin a cat I guess, but knowning all the ways doesn't hurt. -
Trent's stunning & naive public admission
High Mark replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is the NFL. I you see someone open, more than 90% of the time its already too late. It is more about timeing. Both of Trent's non-tipped picks Monday night were late throws/reads. The recievers where open, but the D reacts and the WR is only open for a fraction of a second, and Trent threw it too late. There were maybe 2 throws where the WR was open for blow coverage and he didn't hit those, one to Lee and one to Stevie J. Its more a matter of timeing not finding an open WR. -
Trent's stunning & naive public admission
High Mark replied to BillnutinHouston's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I love that Trent came out and said this. He is pointing out our coaches inability to coach. He is now forceing our coaches hand. Either change up the gameplan and mix up the playcalling, or your playing right into the defenses hand. Good job Trent. -
Its offense. You dont prepare for one teams scheme that week, you have a plan for everythign that you could walk into at any time. Yes you focus on things you think will be successful that week, but they should be ready for everything. rather execution or play-calling, its terrible that we stink so bad. I will throw out the lack of playaction as evidence that the coaches dont do much of anything to help their struggleing QB...

I give you the 2009 Buffalo Bills head coach...
High Mark replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
anything is an improvement. I am big on LSU's Les Miles. He is a fire up guy who gets his kids to play lights out. He also has a pair of Steel ones. He goes for it on 4th down, and makes it, just like all the good teams do. We could employ our current system and retain our coordinaters too if we wanted, I would leave it up to him. I would hate to change systems and take the 3 years to do it, but the 3-4 is where its at. SIDE NOTE: Pat Wlliams does not "fit our system" yet he fits pretty well in Minnesotas cover two???
