Can everyone accept that while a play action pass may have been a good idea, the bills coaching staff DID NOT CALL A PLAY ACTION PASS. A roll out is a roll out, and is not play action. Play action may have worked. A run may have worked. But a roll out with JP Losman WILL NEVER WORK. Everyone who has seen him play knew that (execpt the Bills coaches apparently)

Marshawn tops 1,000 yards...
High Mark replied to throwbackbilly's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Marshawn is the type of back that needs 350 carries a season. Jackson needs 100-120. Lynch has 239 to date, Jackson has 93. If the Bills want to win in our climate, we need to follow the Pitt/Giant mold, power run game and a Diesel D. Both teams have 3 good to great RB's that are better when all are used rather than if one got all the carries. -
Interesting - Trent and Schonert not seeing eye to eye...
High Mark replied to Heitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its gotta be the coaching. Trents best drive of his career, was the first drive of his career. Came in against the Pats last year, drove them straight down the field for a touchdown. And, I may be mistaken and it happened later in the game, but he ran the no huddle, on his first NFL drive. Its been down hill from there over the long run. He regressed a lot over his rookie year, and totally regressed this year. It seems the more time away from the Bills he has, the better he plays. -
Anyone who watched Ryan knew he was great. Some people said he threw a lot of picks, sometimes picks are good because it shows you take chances, and if you dont, like trent, the D can play a shorter field. As good as those guys have been, your right, they have a great run game and D too. But thier coaches put them in a position win, ours simply dont. They gameplan for success, thats the key. Play action, slants, curls, bootlegs, we have none of them and other teams use them constantly.

I believe agaisnt the cowboys another roll out was called on a 3rd and short. We would have won that game if we took a knee. I always remember wishing that JP was sacked on that pass play. In both situations time off the clock was more important than getting the first down. You know you are taking the time off with a run. Terrible.

A Few Thoughts About The Game
High Mark replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im not a Peters fan persay, but I will defend him here. Peters blocked the RDE, Ill assume it was his assignment (He was also the in-most rusher and by general rule Peters man to block). The blitzer came off the edge and went unblocked. The play was a designed roll out some I will again assume he was left unblocked on purpose, and in the event of a blitz JP would be able to extend the play with a roll out, and should have checked down to an open reciever. Peters, even while pro bowl calliber, cannot block two players at once. The other Sack fumble caused by peters man was also JP being an idiot and not knowing to step up in the pocket when the Ol creates it. -
The Bills snatched defeat from jaws of victory
High Mark replied to Tom's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I aborted the Bills only once before, it was when they canned Flutie for Johnson. I did not watch more than 60 minutes of the that next pitiful 3-13 season. If no change is made I may need to take a year off for my own sanity. I think it will be easier next year too because I hate what Goodell is doing to the NFL, fines for clean hits, destroying evidence agaisnt the Pats, being a dick..... College ball is getting better and better. -
I dont want to see Losman on the field again
High Mark replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Losman has 2 more games as a football player. He will be out of football next year. -
Payers have to be put in a position to win. Everyone saw the naked boot Favre had today, thats the type of play call that wins games. PA, boots, any type of deception. It looked like we figured that out vrs KC, but nope, we find something that works and NEVER USE IT AGAIN. Aside from Qb, the Jets man for man are what, maybe one player better than us? Its not personel. Our coachs cannot put the players in a position to succeed.

The most frustrating thing about our playoff drought
High Mark replied to Reddy Freddy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. Bryant McKinnie was the top rated O lineman that year. He was everywhere pre-draft, including Letterman, and all the gurus liked him. He hasn't been great, but he is a starting left tackle in the NFL, for a top rushing team, and not out of football like Willaims. The correct pick for a O lineman was McKinnie, not Willaims. -
Coaches want to put their best team out their first. Thats our D. Deferring is essentailly the same as picking to kick, because the other team must pick recieve or they wont get the ball either half (although they would be able pick which side of the field they want, ala the Lions under marriuci in the OT blunder vrs the Bears). Picking to defer is the last thing anyone should worry about, I for one am much more worried about the other 59:57 of football.

bills coaches pay for errors in front office
High Mark replied to bigskyfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Further evidence that our FO is inept.... We bring in the cover 2, and let Pat Willaims walk because he "doesn't fit the system".... He lands in Minn. where, they run....the cover 2. He has made 2 pro bowls since going to Minn. -

What kind of coach do you want.
High Mark replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A Smart coach who takes control of his team, ala playcalling/decision making etc. A main requirement should be someone who realizes that foobtall starts up front with the line, and that the best defense is a good offense. Les Miles - LSU -
Lance Moore is a very underated WR, and would be a nice addition. I would love to steel Rhodes from the Jets but they would never let him walk. Other than that our D line really needs help, again.

Using our current personnel to play a 3-4
High Mark replied to 2020 Our Year For Sure's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The main benifit I see to the 3-4 is that there a lot more quality players that fit that scheme. It seems that there are plenty of guys who can play the rush LB in a 3-4, but not nearly enough dominant 4-3 ends out there. What I mean is, there has been one Mario Williams type in the last 5 years, but there are a lot of guys like Merriman, Ware, Harrison, Suggs, Ellis, and Vrabel who can generate more pressure on the QB than most DE's. Also, its a lot easier to find a Big fat guy to take on blockers and eat space than it is to find big fat guys who are fast and can penetrate holes. There is just so much more qualified players around that fit the 3-4 more so than the 4-3 -
Name one thing Ralph Wilson has done for Buffalo
High Mark replied to rockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He hasn't even done that if you think about it. All he has done is NOT move them. He refuses to sell the team before his death to someone who he knows will keep it in buffalo. He has done nothing to keep the Bills here. -
All in favor for Bobby April for interm head coach?
High Mark replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ralph should just buy an old PS2, and get him a copy of madden. That would cost about 100 bucks. Our team could then copy those plays and he could just hit square and use the "ask madden" function for the play call every play. That would be best case scenario, better coaching, save a lot of money -
Scott: Height: 6-1 Weight: 219 Keith Ellison: Height: 6-0 Weight: 229 10lbs is nothing when you taking on lineman, so dont give me that size crap. Ellison is too small, so replaceing him with someone who is too small is nothing new, not to mention Scott is much stronger at the point of attack (that means he takes on blockers better). Scott does not miss 2/3's of his tackles, is better in coverage, and makes plays behind the line of scrimmage.

So do I have to be the one that stands up for those still flying the Stars and Bars? Its not a racist symbol, but just a symbol of the south. They are proud to be from the south the same way Texans are proud of Texas, Americans are proud to be American, and I am proud to be from Western NY. Maybe you haven't noticed how many rednecks live in WNY (one of the largest Dairy farm regions in the world).... I mean half the Ralph is filled with them every game, and I got no problem with it. Pride not Prejudice.

Scott is always makeing big plays. He can in no way shape or form to much worse than Ellison. I like it. Depth is the only concern.

Let's all take a deep breath and relax
High Mark replied to Adam's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What are the chances of keeping Kirk Chambers. He played very well at tackle early in the year, and has been better than good in backing up Butler at guard. OL that can play multiple positions are a huge help. He could/would be a cheaper option at guard than Dockery, and his play may even be an improvemnt. As for the D line. Cut Kelsay, enough said. #1 draft needs to be spent on a top DE, along with adressing it in FA.
