Milano and Dodson designated to return from IR
QB Bills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess I'm on an island here but I'm still not a Klein fan. He's been better the last few games for sure, but he consistently looks awful in coverage while trying to catch or cut off a ball carrier. Milano is miles better. -
A player like him on our d line would make us instant super bowl contenders, if not favourites. He's so talented.
-
I get the sentiment. McDermott inspires very little confidence when you hear him speak. He doesn't appear to be a guy who can match wits with a good coach, let alone outfox one. I'm also of the belief that Bills' ceiling is capped with him and that does lead to a certain apathy. But worse coaches than him have gotten lucky here and there. It really all rests on how good Allen can be and how much talent Beane can surround him with.

Let’s consider permanently replacing Milano with Klein.
QB Bills replied to M. Wrotto's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Klein is slow and awful in coverage. Players like him get you beat in a pass happy league. This idea is asinine. Milano is far more valuable even if he misses a few games a season. -
Blessing in disguise. That drop allowed us to draft Marcel Dareus instead of some of the scrubs that went after him like Julio Jones, Patrick Peterson, AJ Green or JJ Watt.

The Effect of the Bills on Dan Marino’s Postseason Success
QB Bills replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Totally agree. But Marino was also apparently quite vocal about suppressing the run game. He either thought that passing was the best way to win or he just wanted to pad his stats. -
What's going on with the Betting Line in Bills/Chargers?
QB Bills replied to Casey D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Damn. Some of these guys must be in their 80s by now. -
Duke should play over Kumerow. Allen seems to look for him out there when he's playing. I wonder what the coaches have against him.
-
He didn't try to bat it. He tried to catch it by jumping up with both hands in the air. If he wanted to bat it, he easily could have by just swatting it with one hand.
-
If he jumped and reached with one hand, he'd have knocked it away easily. For some reason, he tried to catch it. Just an absurdly stupid play by him.
-
I've been an ardent defender of his. After today, with the block in the back, the multiple times Allen needed to explain the play call, the missed blocks, I think it's clear that Knox lacks the mental acuity to be an effective player in the league.

Holy crap Daboll interview
QB Bills replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not that this is even a possibility at this point, but I'd rather keep Daboll over McDermott if one has to go. I think in time, keeping the Clapmaster while letting Daboll walk will end up looking like a foolish decision. -
Kind of unrelated, but does anyone remember that Clapmaster 2000 wouldn't even play Milano when he first got here even though it was clear to most fans that he was their best linebacker? Reminiscent of the Fred Jackson, Jabari Greer, etc. situations.

He played on the Panthers so by rule he has to sign here. How will he look as cb2 opposite Tre? I don't know enough about him

"That was a real good poop, man. Real good poop. This what we talk about every week, man. It's hard to poop in the NFL. You earned it today. Playoff caliber, man."

Interesting Daboll/Beasley tidbit
QB Bills replied to RunTheBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn't really see the game that way. If the Bills did the things you're saying they didn't do, KC would have just passed their way to a victory. The score was a lot closer than the game itself. There's been a lot of chatter about how McDermott's gameplan was to keep it close, but the better gameplan was KC's proverbial carrot dangling in front of the horse. Making the opponent think they're within striking distance when they really had no shot. They didn't pass because they were in control of the game from the outset and didn't need to. Why bother when you're getting 9 yards a clip by handing it to an undersized rookie with a decimated offensive line? -
Interesting Daboll/Beasley tidbit
QB Bills replied to RunTheBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never understood this line of thinking. Who cares about "identity"? I'd much rather prefer an offense to demonstrate that they can beat you in any way they see fit. Kind of like what KC did on Monday. -
Honest question to all the McBeane fans. What is the path to playoff success here? Not just this year, but going forward. What gives you hope that these two are the guys that will lead the Bills to beat the top teams when it matters. Because it seems to me that the drought has warped the minds of fans to think getting into the playoffs is some major achievement. Newsflash, lots of crap teams (other than ours) have made the playoffs and proceeded to soil themselves since the turn of the century. The Bills of the last three years are no different. This team is a lot closer to being really bad than it is to challenging for the Super Bowl. McDermott is too much of a wimp to have big time success in today's NFL. Coaching scared only works if you have oodles of talent and play mistake free football. Neither of those things are true in Buffalo.

Trouble in Paradise! Diggs sulking on the final drive
QB Bills replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was a terrible look. But good on him for not sulking on the sidelines I suppose. Also, he should have probably caught that deep pass in the end zone early on. Btw, Justin Jefferson went 9/166 and two TDs yesterday. Just saying..
