  1. He is my 'dark horse' for most improved player on the team. I say this for a couple of reasons. First the Bills have a lot of questions at LB. God forbid a few injuries happen there, White will be asked to produce more. I personally liked his credentials coming out of college. You cannot overlook a players production in the SEC. Hopefully White is fully healthy and able to show he has what it takes this year. Also playing behind the front four the Bills have will benefit every LB. To me he seems faster and more agile then Poz. He doesn't play as 'big' as Poz and thus able to take on lineman or FBs as well, but i think he could be a rotational guy that spells some of the older LBs on the roster.
  2. Wow, that is interesting stuff. Floyd has all the measurables, but seems to be missing a piece somewhere. I also agree it take a WR a season or two to really transition into the NFL. There is a reason despite his combine numbers he lasted after the first 10 picks. Green and Jones went very early last year because of the measurable AND the numbers they put up against top competition while in college. On another note about WR's i got to meet Calvin Johnson's mom and aunt yesterday. They came into my restaurant and i started chatting with them. His aunt asked if i was a Detroit fan. Of course i said no but liked seeing Johnson and Stafford do well. His aunt then reached in and gave me an autographed playing card of Johnsons'. That is when she told me who they were. Kinda a cool story.
  3. Exactly! If you do not have a great off season you are pretty much destined to repeat the similar cycle. The Bills broke the mold of what they been doing for the last decade or so. They addressed the glaring weakness with PROVEN talent ( that is for the guys who like to bring up Dockery and Walker signings). A failure to plan if a plan for failure. I hope some of you guys are only this negative about the Bills. If you are this way in life i feel bad for people who have to be around you on a dailey basis.
  4. If you go to China and eat local cuisine it is called food, not Chinese food.
  5. Why are you so confident? What do you know about the structure and the proposed upgrades/renovations? Are you an architect? or engineer? 200 million is a lot of money, i get that. But when you look at numbers of 1 billion for new stadiums, it does not sound to crazy. Think about people who improve their $250K home by putting $30-50K in improvements. The number does not sound so crazy. Does it?
  6. One of the things from the video that really stands out is that once he got his hands on a player they never got away. Even Big Ben and Teebow could not get away from him. Speaks to him being very strong and having good technique. Also he did not bring the guy down alone sometimes, but knew if he stuck to him, help would be on the way. This is very true this year while playing next to the Williams', Dareius, or possibly Merriman.
  7. Exactly. I worked at Just Pizza and actually the original Mr Pizza is a dear friend and now lives in Atl. He was/is my mentor. If made right Buffalo Pizza is amazing. It is an art form from making to baking it. Unfortunately so many pizzeria have popped up in Buffalo, which has watered down the quality some. Growing up we always got Bocce. Anyways it is where you go that is important. Not every pizzeria is the same in Buffalo just like in NYC or anywhere else.
  8. All foods from Buffalo. Pizza, wings, weck, royals, friday night fish fry. Only thing i never got into really way Salen Hot Dogs. But intriducing Buffalo Style Pizza to the south has been great.
  9. Who cares what Josh Reed has to say? Really? I have made a living off owning Buffalo Style Restaurants in Atlanta. Southerners love it!
  10. JP wins the tallest midget award! No offense to little people.
  11. Now that was funny
  12. It may not be cool, but it is Larry saying grow up now. To qoute Jerry Glanville 'N-F-L can stand for Not For Long.' Say what you want, but why isn't Floyd there. I am sure Larry made sure it was not because of a death or family emergency before he tweeted that. Larry seems like a class guy. He made his move on purpose. Floyd needs to realize the NFL is a way of life, that is why you get paid the way you do. You are always on the job. By this i mean, if a player goes to a club during the off season and has an altercation, it will directly affect his career. It will also affect his team. 'Cool' maybe not. But the right thing, yes.
  13. His age does not bother me as much if he had not had a serious injury just two seasons ago. 31 is not old for a LB. He still could have 3-4 good years left in him. Look at what Ray Lewis is doing. I do not think Barnett is the same physical speciman Lewis is, but he will be a solid player for awhile.
  14. I do not see it. Like i sai di hope the kid has a great career, honestly i do. I was mor eor less referring to he will not match or be in the same sentence as Green. Green had a shortened ROOKIE off season and was working with a rookie qb, and still put up those numbers. I will go on record saying Floyd goes for half of what Green did. Around 500-600 yds and maybe 4 TD. Decent numbers for a rookie wide out. Also remember Floyd has what at qb? That is the other thing we are forgetting to mention.
  15. First of all AJ Green has already proven he can play in the NFL. Floyd so far is showing why despite his measurables he went at 13. Also the caliber of opponents ND plays is nothing compared to the SEC. I personally have nothing against Floyd, and since he plays is the NFC West i hope he has a great career. The Bills want team guys. That is who they draft and who they sign in FA. Floyd thus far in his very early career is not showing that behavior. How long do you think it takes Floyd to have the same season Green just had? 65 rec over 1000yds and 7 td.His JR and senior yr in college he had slightly better seasons then Greens rookie year in the NFL. Barring an injury Floyd will never have near the same career Green does. No crystal ball needed.
  16. It is just silly to compare Floyd to Green. Sorry, but to put up the numbers Green did in the SEC going against the caliber of DB's he did speaks volumes. Much more so then combine numbers do. That is what good GMS look at.
  17. For the reasons Chris Brown stated i also have to concur that Sheppard is the most important guy not to lose. Dline is stacked, and yes it would stink to lose one of the Williams' or Marcel. But LB is already very thin. If Sheppard can step up and be the guy that Barnett thinks he is, then he would absolutely hurt the most to lose. I am not usually a big fan of LB's being that important. The are just like running backs, much of their success starts with the guys playing in front of them. But it seems that if Sheppard went down it would cause some shuffling around in the lB corp. Where as if a dline guy went down, the Bills have adequate depth there.
  18. I got to agree with you SJF when it comes to White. Think the kid showed he could play in college. Also showed he is an asset to ST. If he is fully healthy for camp i think he gets every opportunity to stick on the team as depth at LB. Batten to me just did not seem like a good playmaker. by that i mean a guy who can diagnos a play and get to the bll quickly. I hope White makes it a difficult decision.
  19. Is this true? Sorry one to many beers yesterday and being kept up by fireworks, so not sure if your being sarcastic?
  20. The Patsies could afford to take a risk on a player with a questionable medical history. They were a far more complete team then Buffalo at that point. They gambled and won. So how is Troup doing health wise? He has a very uphill battle, but no GM likes to admit he was wrong. Troup will get every opportunity to prove he deserves a spot. Having said that i do not believe Nix or Chan would keep him unless he is equal to or better then any the more costly vets.
  21. Thank you. it was amazing. I was very fortunate. Getting to walk into lockerrooms when you are a boy is like heaven. Fred Smerlas and Jimmy Haslett were always great with me. They were like big kids. What i would not give to go back there with my now deceased father and have that day again.
  22. I have been blessed to have grown up with family who worked for the Bills in the 70's and 80's. And to have a father who owned Package stores. I got to watch the Bills vs Falcons in 1983 in Fulton County Stadium in the Braves dugout. I was 8 years old. And was out on the field before the game watching the players warm up. After the game got to go into the lockerroom. My father told me never repeat anything you hear th eplayers say. I knew it was 'bad words', my father cussed like a sailor himself. The players however took it to a whole other level. I remember asking my dad, they all know each others moms? Very cool experience. I also got to go to the 1985 Super Bowl and watch the game from club level. Met George Wendt from Cheers. The 1992 and 1993 season SB against the Cowgirls. Countless concerts etc. Like i said, very fortunate childhood. And trying to get the thread back on course.
  23. Here is what i do not understand. It has been discussed on here before that the third round was somehow left out of the 'slotting' equation. By this i mean the 1-2 and then the 4-7 rounds had very defined perameters for how draftees should be compensated. WTF do you skip over the third? I know someone here will have a theory. I would love to hear it. I do not believe with the countless attorneys both sides had this was a mistake. Maybe i am saying it or have understood it in correctly. So please shed some light on it for me. As it stands today the CBA seemed to create an issue when it should not have. Who possible could have benefitted from this?
  24. Maybe not surgery, but medication? Sometimes you can take something that can help correct an issue. This is pure speculation on my part. You got to think there are very few areas of the body that you do not play if they are not 100%. Your brain and heart being two obvious ones. Sure you can play with a sprained ankle or a broken finger. If he has been cleared there has got to be good reason.
