So you like telling people they are stupid? That is a big sign of insecurity. Good luck with that. I bet you are the smartest guy in the room everytime? It is a fan board, lighten up. Grammer Police would arrest almost every person on here, at on epoint or the other. My point was, IF a player is not resigned it will probably be because of financial reasons. And those people who stated they did not vote for a player may think that way. I DO trust Buddy and the F.O. Besides Fitz last year, they usually do not resign guys mid season. Calling people 'dull' is ignorant and arrogant on your part.

I do not think that is accurate on your part. The financial aspect plays alot on peoples mind. Especially when your talking about a unit. I run a small business and there are many times i woul dlike to be able to give an employee a raise, but can not due to budgets. Your thinking kind of says just pay a guy what he wants because we drafted him and he has been a good player. That sounds kind of dull to me. And your comment about it being super cheap in 5 years is exactly what he will say in 3 years. thus wanting a new deal. So honestly that is a dull arguement.

Cordy Glenn on list of Top 10 Impact rookies
atlbillsfan1975 replied to buffaloboyinATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That and maybe finally the Bills do? Plus some good luck? Glenn could be the steal of the draft. He could honestly be a pro bowler in a year or two. Think he needs some work with the coaches and will have an adjustment period. He has all the tools, and i believe he will be motivated to show he should have gone in the first, because he IS a LT. -
I get what your saying. I remember people who watched football back then first telling me he was not a great QB. This was in my teens. He was a name i knew and knew the story behind his SB. But had no clue about his career. I recently watched The Namath story on HBO, it was great. The guy had some very good season with the Jets. He however had horrible knees. Not a good thing for a football player, the rules were not the same back then as they are today. Many Qbs took a beating. Personally i like Namath, the HBO show showed him as a very likable guy. He had his troubles, but he was a guy who stood by what he believed in. He even attempted to take on the NFL over his ownership in a club. Unfortunatly most people under 30 who love football will only think of that unfortunate Monday Night game when you bring up Namath.

How can you screw up Fitzpatrick? I mean Fitzpatrick, come on man. -
He is in the HOF because of his charisma. He helped put the NFL on the map. He was the first real 'superstar' in the NFL, maybe all of sports. His personality is why he is in the HOF. He was as beloved a sports figure as you will ever find. The guy was as big as the Beatles for a minute, while the Beatles were the Beatles. It was a culmination of a lot of things. But to even mention Namath as a great QB is playing revisionist history. He was very good for a couple seasons and Great for one game. Just so happened the one game was the SB and he called the victory.

CBS Sports Top 10 Jerks in the NFL
atlbillsfan1975 replied to The Cincinnati Kid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ray Ray? Really? Why because of the shooting after the SB in 99? He didn't do it. He ended up helping the authorities. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. And subsequently has been a model citizan and player. If you asked every coach in the NFL, they would all want Ray Lewis on their team. Granted his skills are diminishing but the guy is a leader. He takes interest in the rookies and likes watching them grow and develope. -
I hear ya on the percentages. But maybe some guys want to know at what price?

New Era sideline caps

When some famous 'cool' guy did it by mistake. Thus a bunch of people who can not think fo rthemselves followed suite. basically how every dumb trend gets started -
Levitre is a solid gaurd. I do not put him on the same level as Grubbs or Nicks, personally. But he will get paid good money. 5 years 23 mil with half gauranteed would be fair. He has been versatile from a health stand point. He is a good interior lineman and that contract would reflect such. Byrd will command a little more if he has another solid year. he was involved in 6 turnovers last season. 3 int 3 forced fumbles. This plus his 2009 9 int year, will have some teams wanting to bid for his services if he hits the open market. Bills should try to extend these two during the season.

I have been thinking this for like 3 years now. But somehow they keep chugging along. It really is a testament to them. Until Brady slows down, i do not think they will. And trust me i do not like Brady at all. To me he is the least 'football' guy there is playing in the NFL. But the guy is a great talent
-
If he does, i doubt they will be able to re-sign him. They already have a ton of money invested in D-line. Byrd, Levitre are the most important. Urbik would be nice, and if his salary matches his play average to solid, then yes resign him. The rest are crap shoots. Its all about what they and their agents think they are worth vs what Buffalo does/can afford.

Will Shawne Merriman End the Season on I.R.?
atlbillsfan1975 replied to ThurmasThoman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just 4 years ago KC only had 10. Wow i did not realize that. 4-5 sack avg a game would be huge. I know there is a stat somewhere about sacks and corelation to drives ending. I think you get roughly on avg around 8 possesions a game. -
Why you think it is Bull. He came into TENN and turned their year around. Starting with us a few years ago. The guy is a winner and is liked by his teammates, from what i have heard. My point is, Thigpen has not looked good at all as a Bill. He had one year under Gailey in KC, other then that, what can you say about the guy? IF Young can learn the playbook, he has way more potential then Thigpen, way more. And it is not even Potential, the guy has won in this league multiple years. Can we say that about Thigpen?

NE's Offense vs Buffalo's Defense
atlbillsfan1975 replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even ini the second one, the Giants Dline was all over him. And for those who bring up the point about other teams not being able to beat NE, i say this- IF, and big IF, Buffalo wins both against NE, i can not wait to see what they do to the rest of the league. NE is the model for what the NFL wants- pass happy teams. Buffalo is trying to counter that. -
An optimistic view of our chances game by game in '12
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Hplarrm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is possible. Maybe find a college that would let them use a practice field(s)/facilities. Not sure how to look at that one. On one hand, Jet Lag/time change comes into play. On the other you keep the guys away from their families for a week? Pro's and Con's? -

They have an entire year to look at. Fitz played in Gailey's system last year. So if he starts out good it is not because teams didn't have film on him. That is just silly to say -
Former Buffalo Bill Marcus Stroud retires

Great Guy. Loved Watching him and Seymour play at UGA. He had a good year+ with the Bills. Seeing more guys realize it is time to hang it up now then ever. I am sure the concussion epedemic is playing into this some. Also players are maybe getting smarter with their money now? -
Bills mentioned in Saints bounty ledger
atlbillsfan1975 replied to JPL7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After watching the Hargrove video i am completely amazed at these guys. Do they not realize how deep they are digging the hole? Sorry but i will take Roger Goodell's word over theirs any day of the week. What possibly does he have to gain from this??? These guys are complete and utter fools. This is one instance where Hargrove and Vilma hope that people will listen to them and believe them. Not me. Good luck if you do. You also must believe in many more comspiracy theories. -
If Fitz throws for 3500 yds 25 td and 12 interceptions, the playoff drought is over. Sprinkle in FJ and Spiller combining for around 2000yds and 15td. On D have two lineman with double digit sacks. I don't care who it is. The secondary will lead the league in interceptions. Look for Byrd to go back to his ballhawking days and get 6 int.
-
Pretty straight forward. Nothing new. I am not overly concerned with all the hype Buffalo is getting. I do not think they will let it go to their head. Having started 5-2 they know you can never count on anything till you have it in the NFL. This team will be focused and ready to prove everyone right. Gailey being a veteran HC also has seen preseason hype a time or two, and knows it means nothing until you play. Really when you see this stuff from national guys it is more of a 'tip your hat' to the front office. They went out and mave great moves. Now the coaches and players have to produce.

Justin Tuck, Giants, new facemask
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
personally i think you get rid of face masks all together and watch concusions go down big time. It the false sense of security they provide that lends guys to lead with their head. Having said that, nice unique desing.
