  1. I have mixed emmotions about him. If he get's $5-6mil then i say good for him. Not sure he is worth that money. And really not sure HE is worth that money in Chan's Offense. If he signs for like $4mil, then i wonder why Bills didn't grab him.
  2. I like it a lot too. Got to wonder if they have Kelsay and Williams on the field at the same time? Bring Merriman in as a pass rusher to spell Kelsay? Need an OLB, rather Morrison be depth/rotated in. McGee over Florence to start. Anyone heard anything on Scott? He was put on the back burner the past few days while they dealt with Mario Williams. If he has not signed anywhere, maybe Scott comes back at a reasonable price?
  3. Buddy disagrees with you. And seeing how he has yet to posture and not follow thru, LT is the pick. No question. He has stated more then a few times that he does not like the DE class for the first round. And that he like the 4 tackles. Kalil was number one, but their were three others he mentioned and on ein particular. I think Adams was one Buddy really liked. It was reported Buddy was at Ohio States pro day to watch Adams. Correct me if i am wrong? Was it Martin? or Reiff?
  4. Yes, with kelsay on the other side for 1&2 downs i like it. It will be interesting to see if they still grab another DE in the second or third round. Or if Merriman stays andbecomes th ethird down pass rusher to replace Kelsay. This also will make the need to upgrade DB's a little less. And should Make the LBs look a heck of a lot better. You can not double team all three guys. And by right each guy will command a double team. Someone should be left one on one, which is exactly what Wanny wants. Man i am pumped. If this line plays healthy, They are gonna give The Pats all they can handle this year.
  5. The problem is no one stops and takes a breath anymore. The minute they have a thought they tweet or text or post or whatever...Journalism is the worst. Think about it, people who get into journalism love finding out info and sharing it, otherwise they would not do what they do. Now once someone gets the reputation as being 'knowledgeable', their every thought is allowed to be heard, because they give it out. And we, the masses, hang on every word. Journalist are in such a hurry to break a story, because they understand it wont be long till some one else does. Ergo why at points during situations like this, we ride the emmotion train up an down
  6. Please no. Get Williams signed. I would rather Robinson, but if Buddy and Chan want Manningham, i am fine with that. Draft your LT in the first. Either way, it looks like a lot of guys are waiting to see what Williams does. Almost like agents are saying,"Buffalo needs an upgrade at your position too, if Williams doesnt sign they will have the money to spend on you".?
  7. Not sure if this is good or bad for BLO. In one regard think it takes JVille out. And with Chicage making the move son offense yesterday, whats their cap room like?
  8. Maybe they knew already? Just saying, Buddy has ties to SD, maybe he knew Meachem was negotiating with them. Kinda odd that of all the FA WR Bill choose the one who signs w SD. Could be pure coincedence and speculation. For you guys who think the Bills efforts in FA are just a dog and pony show, this is another feather in your cap.
  9. i would be very suprised if Atlanta could sign Williams. Now having said that, they have just let Curtis Lofton walk. Abraham was also allowed to test FA. But they did just franchise Grimes a DB. The Falcons have been very very silent today...so it really is all speculation
  10. Maybe Stevie signed his deal because the Brass told him they were going to get Mario and another wr. The fact that Stevie signed a week or so before fA was odd to me. And the fact that he took a fair deal too. I just am maybe connecting dots that have no business being connected, but gotta make you wonder?? I mean if you think there were no discussions until today after 4 with anyone from the Bills and anyone in Williams camp, you are crazy. Secret back channels. ha
  11. The fact that he is in Buffalo is awesome. Not just that the Bills are trying, but that he made it his first stop. Now if they sign him, i think we all will go crazy and not know what to do. It will be like when the hot girl buys you a beer at the bar!!
  12. It does if you are small(Parrish) and weak(Bell) Both are good athletes. An dhave the ability to play in the NFL. But both also have shown the inability to take the beating the NFL dishes out. It is as simple as that. SJ got his new contract and Chandler got one. So Bills are showing the desire to lock up the good talented guys. And at FAIR contracts, none the less.
  13. Your are 100% right to be worried about a void at LT. But with the news we are hearing now, Buddy is trying like heck to get his DE and WR in FA. If he can get Meachem and Williams to sign. Then LT in the first at #10 looks pretty nice. Grab you another olb or DE in the second, and suddenly this team is resembling a force to be reackoned with.
  14. As a business owner in the midst of renewing his insurance...i can tell you that is the first stumbling block in that idea. Not to mention, both those guys have played in Buffalo. They know what kind of stadium it is and what kin dof fans are there. The thing you sell to those guys is simple. Money and then if you want, try to make them understand they will be a part of bringing glory back to a very proud franchise/city.
  15. The reports on him coming out of college was, he is a great athlete, very mobile and good footwork for a guy his size. Downside was and still is his strength. This is important to remember. Some injuries are just bad luck. Others though are a result of a guy not being strong enough to with stand the beating an NFL player takes. If the Bills did not make Bell a priority, then they have reservations about him. Or could also be that Buddy thinks the money is better spent if FA on other areas. Buddy may think at pick #10 in the draft he gets his true LT for the next 8-10 years for the team. After resigning Stevie and Chandler, Buddy has proven he wants to keep talent. And with the type of contracts they signed he also showed he knows how to negotiate. IMHO
  16. Sorry, I like Freddy, but at this point Bills hold all the cards. He is on the wrong side of 30, if he sits out he gets a year older. And even less desirable by another team. If he plays and plays well again, maybe they extend him mid season. I also like the thought of maybe making apush for Mario. If it gets above $15mil, drop out.
  17. Normally i would agree with you whole heartedly. But with Buddy's comments about DE's in the draft. And i do not think he is posturing. he has not done so thus far. Freeney, or another older vet, might be an option. Draft one of the guys in the second round. Let him play behind Kelsay and Freeney for a year. Start using him more as a pass rusher to replace Kelsay on passing downs. For two-3 years you would have a good DE rotation, in theory. I could also see the Bills trying to steal a page from the Giants play book and have all three guys on the field Freeney would most likely do a restructure/extension. 3 year deal. $10 mil a season, with like $18 being gauranteed might get it done?
  18. Let me clearify my point some. He is a solid LT WHEN healthy. The problem is over the past two season's he has missed a total of 15 games. Roughly an entire season's worth. To me, the first step to being great at what you do, is reliablitly.
  19. Bell will benefit from being the tallest midget. Only real LT in this class of FA. His age and possible upside will net him something close to the $6mil OP stated. May even get to $8mil with incentives for p.t.
  20. Bell and Scott are the two obvious guys. Bell is as good as gone. Two much money for what they Bills know he is. An average LT with a bad history of injuries- most likely due to the fact he was/is weak compared to most OL in the NFL. Scott is interesting one, may wait and see if he gets any offers. I believe he will give the Bills a shot at matching if/when he does. At this point in his career Scott is really a nickel/dime OLB brought in for coverage. And provides some depth at safety. With Searcy playing solidly for a rookie, he becomes more expendable when it comes to safety depth. IMHO
  21. I voted for three players. I still believe football is a team sport. With the one exception being the importance QB has become. So to me get three players in a 'need' position. Then draft the others. LT in first. DE in second and third.
  22. Why wouldn't he go to Miami as a starter? I mean if i am Denver and sign Manning, wouldn't i try to trade Tebow? Surely you could get a second or thrd rounder for him, no?
  23. Hindsight is always 20/20. Bell was coming off a 2010 campaign where he was injuried some. He was injuried again in 2011 for stretches. If the Bills had signed him to an extension, and he had the same injuries, would you have been asking "why did our FO sign a guy to an extension with an injury history"? Honest question.
  24. Kinda smart, if you believe in the Jinx Thing, no? I mean no way EA(if thats who still does it, been like 16 years since i played) is gonna use either those guys.
