  1. I think there is a lot of positive bias towards ND. Look at those teams Charlie Weiss was allowed to take into a BCS game just a few years ago. Heck one could argue the Non BCS school exemption for playing in a BCS bowl was designed specifically to cater to ND. Having said all that, it also makes you wonder about the publicity Floyd is getting. The so called 'experts' on the draft, who put out draft publications realize how big the ND fan base is. I for one am not for or against Floyd. If Buddy and Chan want him and take him, i am fine with it. My point in starting this thread was if Buddy is not there at Floyd's pro day, i think it is a strong indication, he is not the pick. IMHO. And until someone on here can give me some hard evidence ie....Buddy Nix drafted these FIRST ROUNDERS with out attending their pro day...i am sticking with it.
  2. Who? And what round? Please be more specific. Was any a first rounder? Was it since Buddy has been a GM? I still stand by my first statement. Sorry guys, he went to See Hill's pro day. Buddy doesnt play 'games'. So if he is interested in Floyd he would be at his pro day. I am just talking about Buddy, not what other GM's for other Franchises. Buddy is a scout. Came up going to Pro Days and evaluating players. So unless any of you can give me a qoute from Buddy Nix saying he will draft a guy whose pro day he does not go to, i stand by my theory. I mean especially a first rounder. So is Buddy planning on attending ND Pro Day??
  3. This will be the tell on if Floyd is even an option for the Bills. If Buddy attends Notre Dames pro day, then you got to believe it is to look at Floyd more. If not, the Floyd debate ends. Anyone know if he is scheduled to attend??
  4. He also likes guys from the South. For obvious reasons...and no not talking about his accent.
  5. No matter what you hope this guy succeeds. Do not know much about him, where is he projected? Like stats and measurables. Sounds like a good value pick maybe in rounds 3-4?
  6. I am not big either on the term 'reach'. A lot of 'experts' on t.v. like to use that term, usually because they had the player slotted somewhere else. And lets be honest, no one knows on draft day if it is a reach or not. My problem with Hill is his college career, you have got to agree he is inconsistent? Now what can you attribute that too? I don't know. I am sure Buddy and Chan will find out for sure, given Chan left GT on good terms. IF Chan and Buddy love the kid and take him at 10, i will feel like it is the right pick. They will for sure have gotten the scoop on him. This draft reminds me of the one where the Bills took Hardy. There will be a run on WRs late first early second i predict. You will see 4-5 guys go in a 10-15 range of picks. Hill will probably be one of those guys.
  7. His highlights look great, but he also had some bad drops. Now that could be attributed to not being used much due to the offense GT ran. But not sure you really want to make that assumption at pick 10 IMHO.
  8. This move will eventually set the Jets back atleast 3-4 years. They will win some cute games with Tebow...in the long run i mean 2 season's from now, Rex is gone and the new HC is left having to throw Tebow out and name Sanchez his starter again. After a year, new HC realizes Sanchez sucks too and they draft a rookie. I love it. Thank you Tebow. Btw i love Tebow. Maybe one of the greatest college players of all time. But a few more years and a bunch more hits, he is done.
  9. You really think Buddy is gonna take a WR from Notre Dame? i mean really? not being a smarta*s. Difference was Spiller played at Clemson. Buddy knows the south and Chan coached against Spiller. He got to see first hand the kids ability. I just don't get the Floyd love...did anyone here like him before the combine?? I think Chan likes showing he can turn a good wr into great...ala his system. So get your WR in the second or third. Also, since the Bills have not signed a single OT this offseason, and a few WR's, i dont think they draft one here. Chan's needs someone upfront to help his system work more....the vertical game. You can not develope a deep threat if you only have a few seconds. Defenses figured out his quick game last year. This paired with FJ injury killed his system. Rather take the best LB at 10 available or even CB(i can not believe i am saying this), if no tackle is worth that pick.
  10. Not a rookie one. a lot of guys here like Floyd. I do to. But his speed will be negated by the fact that Fitz has 2-3seconds to throw the ball. IMHO...but what the heck, highlight videos of WR are more fun then those of LOT. Buddy has repeatedly said he likes this years tackle talent. As anyone even heard him comment on Floyd? Did he attend their Pro Day?
  11. I think they keep 9. With guys coming off injuries (K.Williams, and Merriman) not good to leave yourself to thin. Plus with the way Wanny wants his 4 dlinemen to win one on one's, you need fresh guys rotating in often. Could maybe keep Johnson and cut Batten? I cut Johnson because of salary. Batten did play some OLB last year too, right? So maybe more flexible player/ST.
  12. If Stephen Hill is not there then he is the reason the combine exists. Sorry but if you take him in round one, you are silly. Not saying he won't turn out to be a solid pro, but he has horrible stats...and i live in Atlanta and know why. He plays in a run 80% of the time offense. having said that for you guy sthat want a reciever that can block, he is your man. Thats what he did for almost all of his time on the field.
  13. true about Smith and Manning. but Bell had Zona look at him eand then re-sign Brown, Redskins are th eonly other team to have him in, that i am aware of. He left D.C w/o a contract. Has to make you wonder if he is being stubborn/getting bad advice, or has not seen anything better then the Bills offer. Also, he has to be sitting there watching what Buffalo is doing, and saying 'that team is trying to win, why do i not negotiate with them?' Either way i expect he signs with someone before end of month. teams typically like to spend April really focusing on all the diferent draft scenarios.
  14. This gives them a situation very similar to the Giants. Maybe, Merriman, Anderson, M.Williams, and Dareus in on passing downs? I like the miss matches this could provide. M. Williams up inside- since he loves the bull rush. And he is very quick. Dareus- Big strong and like him pushing a gaurd back. He will man handle a guard if left alone, if help w center M Williams will easily get by a guard. Anderson on one end Merriman(god be healthy) on the other. You will for sure have to leave a TE in to help and a running/full back. You just took two guys out of the passing game. You can also rotate in Carrington and S.Johnson into the interior on passing downs. Kick M Williams out side to end and let Merriman rest some. This line now also allows some guys like K.Williams and Merriman not to be every down guys. Will help them to get over their respective injuries. once again Buddy wasn't posturing...he said he did not like the DE in this class early. With this move today, Buffalo will not look at a DE probably till late in the draft, if at all
  15. They actually did it three times. twice in SB once in regular season this past season. And they took NE to the finish in the final regular season game in NE 16-0 year. The book is out on Tom Brady, get a rush that he can see coming. Ie up the middle. We as true diehard Bills fans know Brady is a prima donna. He is a great QB, but gets frustrated easy. The Bills should have a lot of one on one matchup with their front four. this is exactly what Wanny's 4-3 d asks for. You can blitz Brady because he gets passes away typically to fast for that. make him uncomfortable from the snap with his centers ass flying at him. Then for the 4-3 to truly work the front four have to win those matchups. To me this will be the case. B arnett is a good cover lb. If Scott is brought back i could see the two of them lined up as LB. Clog the underneath lanes. Then allow corners to play one on one, and leave safeties over the top/provide help. You got to hit Gronk and Henrandez at the line too. Welker is tougher to get a hold of due to motion etc.
  16. The planet where bringing up a starting line up from 2 years ago is silly. And they fell on their faces because they changed schemes? not saying they did, but they realized you had to take a step back to go forward, big time use 2011 starters and better yet lets talk opening day of 2012. You my friend make yourself look silly. The other thing i will point out is how much playing time did freddie and SJ and Fitz and Bell see under jauron?? the only good thing jauron did was move Wilson to safety. Thats it.
  17. They tried to sign Meachem, he went some place that over paid for him because they needed a number one receiver. They tried to sign Clabo because they needed a tackle. In both cases the team that signed them out bid the Bills. And after watching Clabo play last year, the Falcons overpaid for him. The going price for a proven top DE is what the Bills paid. And who now is left sitting out there to sign for the #2 wr??? The guys who have signed thus far have been given as much money as SJ. I and so would most people here, rather have Mario Williams, over 2 #2 wr's. Our problem was not scoring last year for th emost part. It was not getting to the QB.
  18. Wow. Once Nix and Chan had time to really work with the team they saw what they had. Chan was wrong to have George Edwards as his DC, he corrected that. jauron was and is inept as a HC. H.S coaches display a better understanding of clock management then he did. Maybe, just maybe Chan and Buddy realized well we can stick with these mediocre guys we have here and probably pump out some more 7-9 or even 8-8, or god forbid a 9-7 team. Now we wont ever get to the play offs most likely or win a play off game, but heck we will be as good as the guys before us. OR They said, man, we need to blow this thing up and start over. Which they have. There is only a handful of guys left from Jauron's era. This team is headed in the right direction. i believe it. To even hint that the Jauron era was anything like this one, shows lack of understanding. And i get you are basing it on just W&L so far. God i hope the Bills make the playoffs this year. I have seen you post this jauron crap a few times, and it pisses me off.
  19. Vet min plus incentives of pay for play. Thing about Roscoe is i do not think he can pick up the play book. Not only is he a small guy, who gets hurt easily due to his small in stature. But from reports, he just is not great at learning the plays. He cost the plays a scoring chance two years ago against the Saints at home, when he could not figure out where to line up. It was right before half. Bills where in the game the whole first half, and going down to take the lead. If i recall correctly. Just do not think there is room for him, who do you cut???
  20. Love it. Karma has a funny way of coming back to bite you in the ass! Sorry Mr Adams, but you deserve it!
  21. And in every one you have gon eon the record as saying you do not think OL is as important as WR or another position. Yet anyone who knows anything about football , knows that no other single group(OL=5 guys) controls the game more then them. Its that simple. If you have a great Oline you have a good team. You can run and pass. You allow your defense to rest. You dictate the pace of the game. Look no further then the NFL leading rusher of all time. E. Smith played behind the greatest oline for a long time. He did not have the talent Barry Sanders had. IMHO if you pick the right OT at 10, this team is much better then a wr.
  22. The reason why he was not re-signed by the Falcons is two fold. A.) a lot of money B.) can not cover well. Falcons were the worst D in allowing third down conversions. Much of it is thought to fall on Lofton not being able to cover. So in essence you are paying very good money for a two down LB. Unless his expectations fall(and i presume they will), he is going to sit out there.
  23. Well Mrs Brady did point out that her hubby can not throw AND catch the ball!!! Maybe NE knows they better keep her happy!!!
