Aaron Murray [your QB of the future]
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BillsInMaine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Serious question, Did you go to school in the mid- west or have some type of affiliation with schools in the Big 12? I know last year you wanted Tanniehill, now Jones, so whats up with it? I also notice you like a lot of guys from mid west schools. Any reason? -
Aaron Murray [your QB of the future]
atlbillsfan1975 replied to BillsInMaine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Murray would do himself a favor by going back one more season IF he does not have an amzing second half of the season. By that i mean win the SEC and play in the NC game. I highly doubt this happens, given UGA's D is about the same as the Bills- looked good on paper before the season started, but has been a sieve. Murray seems to be progressing every season. Right now he is a second round pick. Comes back and he will be talked about in 2013 like Barkley is now. And no i do not want Barkley, he does not seem to play well when he has been pressured. Not good in the NFL where defensesare going to get to you every now and then -
Give it a year or two at most, he wont be the highest paid very long. Players need to play, all of them. I get what you are saying in your two posts. i do. But so what if he has a fridge or makes more money. Any guy on the team right now still makes about 10x what the average person makes. So stop being little whinny kids and go show some character. Play hard for yourself.

The bigger question(s) are WHO? and WHY? Now what you hope is a few players step up and call a 'player only' meeting. I think Kyle Williams/Kelsay and Freddie/Stevie need to do this. I suggest these four because they are always giving effort from what i have watched. they have also all been Bills long enough to know the talent on this squad opposed to 2-3 years ago. It has to be that the players do not agree with the DCord. Funny how this is coming out of two defensive players mouths. I have not heard anything yet like this from a Offensive player. correct me if i am wrong? yes there are three units on a football team, but the three parts work together to produce positive or negative results. Thus a team wide player meeting is necessary. At leats we are seeing two guys step up and try to lead!

One poster hit the nail on the head. A head coach and QB brought in. If i recall Belicheck is a 'retread'. No one in N.E is upset about that. Its about getting the right guy and the right players to match. And this whole 'no one wants to come to Buffalo' is crazy. A young guy wanting to prove he can do the job with the right ego just might be what we need. Maybe Josh McDaniel learned from his time in Denver, picked up some stuff from his time in NE again, and is ready? I know i am just throwing a name out there, but one thing IS certain Chan and his entire staff are not the answer in 2013.

The talent is there except for 2 key areas. QB first and foremost and then LB. The coaches seem old and in over their head. Gailey looks confused on the sideline scratching his board and mumbling into the headset. Wanny is out of touch with the game and he too looks lost. IF the Bills had good coaches who were inovative and motivaters i really wonder what would be the outcome for this team. Watching Rogers get toasted in the fourth quarter was crazy. Kid does not look good at all. And to have him in there with out help in the fourth down play was silly. IF i knew Tenn was going to target him, why couldn't the D staff for Buffalo. This game falls squarely on coaches. They cut Morreman, Potter may be able to kick the ball a mile- but havent seen him do it in a clutch situation. 21 yd punt yesterday? Really? Come on!! The Bills needed that game so bad. Hate to say it, but no playoffs again and the Bills have not played half the season, sad! I will keep watching and hoping, but i know the truth at least so it will not hurt as much as yesterdays loss did.

Perfect scenario would be if Brooks can get some snaps at CB this year and show he can play the position. Brooks becomes the #2 CB next year. Wilson to me this year has been so/so. Might be a product of trying to help young guys, mybe he has lost a step? Williams could take over for Wilson? like the backfield at that point. And yes i get there are some 'ifs' in there. What you guys think?

Sunday's Prediction
atlbillsfan1975 replied to It's in My Blood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope you are right. i am ready for a Sunday Funday! When the Bills win all is right in the world. And when the game is over by the fourth quarter it is even more fun! You can take one eye off the tv and put it on some 'sugar britches' at the bar! -
Sunday's Prediction
atlbillsfan1975 replied to It's in My Blood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bills are what they are. The record shows it. An average/decent team. Tenn is not very good. So Bills will keep up the trend of beating not very good teams. Could be close or could be a game the Bills get on a roll. I am going to go with a roll and say 38-21, with Tenn scoring 2 touchdowns in the fourth to make it that close. Wishful thinking maybe, but we are due a 'good feeling' game. One where the D gets some more confidence and CJ and Freddie each go for over 100 yds. -
Brooks coming back to practice this week!
atlbillsfan1975 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no doubt Brooks is going to be a solid player. But let us all remember he is a rookie who has missed 6 weeks of practice. I think he will see some time, but expecting him to come in and immediately replace Williams is a stretch. Like to see him split some time with Williams. I also would like to see him used some in Blitzing packages. His most immediate impact will probably be made on special teams, kid is a heck of a gunner from what i have seen. -
You mean when the commish stepped in and told him to go to a team with a real HC? Sorry, but at this point i am not so sure i want Vick. Having watched his career in Atl closely i think what he does best is over. Vick has lost that elite speed due to hits and age. This was the biggest thing he brought to the table. Defense constantly had to keep one eye on him running. Now not so much. I echo the sentiments of many around here, no thanks on an over 30 guy that has issues/question marks. I would be all for trading as many picks necessary to get one of the two best qb's coming out of this draft. So what if you give up a 1# from your 2014 draft the Bills have a 15 year history to show what not having a franchise QB does for you.

Fitz numbers from Sunday per PFF
atlbillsfan1975 replied to cmjoyce113's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Now that is awesome. Fitz is not a legit NFL STARTING QB, and Chan finally gets it. i sent the text to my fellow Bills fan cuz saying this very thing about mid way thru the second quarter. Fitz shold not attempt more then 20-25 passes at most. CJ, Freedie and the D playing tough ar ethe only way the Bills win! Fitz will have a nice drive or even a nice game every now and then, but he is way to inconsistant. Chan must ask himself to start each game 'ok do i have the good Fitz or bad Fitz today?'. Think of how that must suck! -
The AFC Playoff Picture is Wide Open
atlbillsfan1975 replied to AC4 IN ATL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Divisional wins will be the first big hurdle the Bills also have to win road games. They have two road victories so far and need to sneak out two more, the Jets and Pats would be nice ones to get. Kill two birds with one stone. I think we are seeing the decline, albeit very slow decline of the Pats and Steelers. Age is catching up to these two teams, as well in Baltimore. If the D for Buffalo can come together and gel then the Bills could make some noise. Chan seems to be realizing Fitz is a 'game manager' type of qb. I know, i hate that term too. But Fitz must be limited to 20-25 attempts at most. Let CJ and Freddie win you games, instead of Fitz losing you them! I agree that once in the playoffs the Blls may not win a game, but hey no one thought Seattle would beat the Saints two years ago, crazier things happen. -
I like what Choice had to say. A little cliche but good message to this bunch- they need to stick together and come together more and more. talent is there they need to start stepping up for themselves and each other.
-
You are exactly right K.H. I also agree that this was hopefully a little confidence builder for the unit. I also saw BLITZING yesterday, something that was forgotten or not used much at all in the first 5 games. Hopefully Wanny stays with this, and the Bills apply more pressure with 5 or 6 guys next week against Tenn. Between Blitz and the homefield crowd making noise, Hasselback could have a long day. Bradham continues to take steps forward. Like the way he delivers a hit and knocks the guy backwards. Barnett looks slow this year so far. Not sure if it is scheme or his age is catching up to him, but his play has dropped off from last year a lot.

Ray Lewis out for the Season, complete Tricep Tear
atlbillsfan1975 replied to Stl Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
suck for Lewis and Ravens fans. Feel bad for them. They also lost Webb yesterday, and the Ravens were already having a tough time stopping the run. The Bills fan in me is glad to see an opponent in the AFC weakened. But also have to say thank you to the Ravens for beating the Patsies. Butkus and Singletary are great, Lewis is the Best. -
Shawne merriman is back with the Bills
atlbillsfan1975 replied to superbills315's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How does this work from the financial side of things? He got the gauranteed money because he was on the squad over the summer, right? How much was that? Now is he getting more money/new contract? Just wondering...please explain if you know. -
You hit the nailed it on a few points. CJ is the Bills most dynamic player on offense. He needs to touch the ball 25 times a game. Freddie about 15. Stevie gets targeted about 7-8 times a game. The rest get whats left over. Last year Bills were 5-2, and then the wheels feel off. You have to wait till week 10-12 to get the real feel for who is a true play off team. Living here in Atl, no fans are really over confident about the Dirty Birds. 6-0 is nice, but win a playoff game or two and then we will talk. The Falcons found a way to win a 'trap' game yesterday before their bye this next week. It was an ugly win much like Buffalo's yesterday. But in the NFL when you only get 16 chances you take one any way you can.

Yes 42 more T.D. in 13 games but also 38 more int in 13 games. So Fitz cancels out his TD by throwing drive ending Int's. And sometimes game ending ones. I know the back up QB is every fans favorite player, really i do. The coaches/FO has put themselves in this position. They have made moves/cuts to guys who were not producing. The players are watching the same games we are- Fitz is not producing. Sorry but Gailey is the guy who made Kordell Stewart look good in Pitts. Gailey has experience working with mobile physically talented QB's.

You hit the nail on the head. Stevie has lost confidence in Fitz, as well he should. I think the rest of the guys also are sick of getting open and Fitz not being able to get them the ball. Bills won today in spite of Fitz. He was getting guys killed out there. Freddie in particular on the screen play. THROW the ball away. And Stevie was doing all he could to help Fitz, but Fitz can not throw the ball. And the fact that the Bills give Seattle a slightly better LATE ROUND pick based on how many games Jackson plays is crazy. I hope that is really some fan based made up crap, because that is another thing which will kill a locker room.
