McVay wasn’t even near the sideline watching live action when the defense got the Rams was on the field. That is not usually how a HC is involved in the game. That’s my point. McVay is the OC and then the HC. It’s working out for them. I am sure McVay can evolve into the complete HC.

McVay is 31. The point is Wade is 71, at what point will McVay be comfortable taking over the complete reigns as the HC ? Right now the system is working for the Rams.

People do learn and get better at things. We shall see about McVay.

I don’t really think they win all three which is what it will most likely take to make it in. Watch the Bills win against Miami next week and win in NE and then lose to Miami the last week. To top it off the QB for the Dolphins will be someone brought In off the street. 8-8 or 9-7 for a rookie coach is not bad. McDermott will learn time management and game management. They just showed McVay in La. He was on the bench studying the tablet while the LA d was on the field. He leaves everything up to Phillips. I think that is ok for now but wonder if that is sustainable. Maybe McVay will insert himself into more of the HC role as he feels comfortable. Mc Dermott will improve. Gotta be Tyrod if Peterman is in concussion protocol. This actually worked out about as good as it could of. Ummmm, Peterman isn’t ready. He has looked good going against 2nd and 3rd stringers when games are out of reach. When it counted Peterman looked like a 5th round rookie. He needs time.

The two biggest areas a rookie coach can improve on from year one to year two are clock management and challenges. I think McDermott will get better. Having said that the Brady challenge seemed like McDermott did not understand the rules or had poor intelligence from whoever his spotter is for when to challenge.

Dawkins does look very comfortable at LT. I did notice he was very active in the Pats game. Dawkins stood out for his downfield blocking. I saw him having a great block that was nullified by a Wood holding penalty. Overall this class is very promising. A couple more like this one with all the picks the Bills have and we can start to see something. BTW Zay is going to be really good when he has a QB who understands timing and throws to a spot vs waiting for a receiver to be open.

Are you saying the Pats and Belichik is like Gregg Williams and the Saints? I do not believe that. I think Gronk let his emotions get the better of him just like Brady and McDaniel did. I applaud Belichik saying it was b.s. I did not hear what McDermott said to Bill to have the 'bs response'. I also think McDermott handled that situation pretty good. You never know when someone will be a FA and you might be looking at them as a possible player for your team.

Yep. When Harrison can’t defend you as a Pats player it’s bad. There is some bad energy on that sideline. It wasn’t enough to derail the Pats today against a pretty bad Bills team, but it’s coming. Mark my words, these Pats won’t win the SB.

Shhhhh, people don’t want to remember what happened 12 months ago. Even Saban is contradicting himself. To me me it is a toss up for the fourth spot. I am saying this not being a fan of OSU and being and SEC guy. I also am expecting a slight shake up in the order of the predicted 1-3 teams of Clemson, Okla, and UGA.

Some franchises are taking the approach that since there is no cap for spending in the front office they will add talent there. There are a lot of ex gm’s around that are good at specific things. As the op mentioned Whaley was a great pro scout. If he was allowed to focus on that a team could do well in FA with his information. There are other GM’s who were good college scouts for certain areas on the field. There are also good money men who know how to manage the cap. Get a good group like that working together and you got something. A team still needs one guy who brings them all together and works between the FO and the coaches. Atlanta has something like this right now. A few ex GM’s on the staff helping Dimitrof with talent and cap. Dimitrof works more as a liaison between everyone.

The big thing that will differentiate this staff for UGA is coaching up players once they get there. Richt had some pretty good classes come in and there are plenty of UGA players in the NFL. I think the playoffs are right on the money now. The easiest thing is for Clemson, Oklahoma, and Wisc to win their games this weekend. Then it will be them plus the winner of the SEC championship game in the playoffs. This weekend really is like a quarter finals. No way. There will not be 2 teams from the ACC in the playoffs. The committee knows that would be rating suicide. Not to mention they can justify a one loss Bama over 2 loss Clemson. They could also justify a two loss Ohio State or no loss Wisc over Clemson. There really is no way Clemson gets in if they lose. There is also no way all 4 of the 'favorites' win. It just will not work out that way. Someone will be crying come Sunday night. As a UGA fan, if the Dawgs win they are in. If the Dawgs lose, i want AU in with the other three winners of the conference games. It really should be that simple*. TCU could screw it all up. I’d rather try to grab a QB in FA and build the team in the draft. So many decent vets are going to be available. Mc Dermott needs a LB , get Roquan in the first and some more line help.

They really don't have a great resume this year. They beat Miss St and LSU. Other than that i do not see it. If i do not like Ohio State getting in because of their name or the way they travel, i have to hold Bama to that same stipulation. In my perfect world it is UGA, Okla, Clemson/Miami , Wisc. I am a big UGA fan . There are a lot of similarities in being a Dawg fan and a Bills fan.
