  1. I feel with you and for you having followed them since ‘63. It’s a lot of time invested as a hobby , and having been 14-3 going in , playing at home which was a stated goal , and then coming out so completely flat , getting completely dominated is a lot of disappointment. Sadly , it’s easy to get to a point where you begin to almost expect this to happen. The Bengals freely talked prior to the game that they weren’t concerned and Burrows said they expected to dominate this team, and you never heard a peep to the contrary from this team. The 90’s teams weren’t ever so muted , intimidated or so clamped down and afraid to respond as they are under Sean and they played like they lacked confidence. Having followed them for so long , been to SB’s in person following them , and getting older with some health issues , it seems like a long time to get back to another season and no one is promised a future to keep enjoying the team ( just look what almost happened to Damar). So it does feel more like an emotionally heavy disappointment this year. It is just a hobby , but you do get involved with fellow fans etc and unless you are a sociopath , you do feel invested. 😊. It just feels like if you can’t advance playing at home after being 14-3 , you wonder under what circumstances they may actually make it over that final obstacle This team didn’t seem to have a clear vision offensively; they aren’t developing talent well like other teams seem too ( use of Elam , shakir, the rbs , the d linemen like epenesa & boogies use or lack of snaps seem to have no rhythm or reason ). Younger coaching staffs are bypassing them as you watch teams like the Bengals , Eagles , 49 ers look much further along. The cracks and red flags showed up against the pats and Miami , yet even the team was in denial talking about “ just survive and advance”. Just surviving has never cut it in reality, and the warning signs were there. Sean is 4-5 now in the playoffs so that’s not getting it done. Hopefully , there is next year, it sure feels like a step back, but hey you are not alone! 😊Best wishes!
  2. You know I think you have a point. It’s emotionally as if they knew they couldn’t match up after their experience in cincy , and just resigned to that fact. Milano said they had no juice on d. This was as emotionally flat as I’ve seen a Bills team. I don’t buy the emotionally drained excuse as Hamlin is and has been doing well and they played two games in the meantime. It would be sccephad his outcome not been so good. You know a situation you remain flat in , when you know you are physically outmatched and you are getting pushed around with an a$$ kicking. Mcd gets no break here either. Knowing how the Bengals marched on them in cincy , why stick with your obsessive tendency to always defer when you knew what type of offense you were facing. Why not at least try to jump out in the lead , take the kickoff and have confidence you will score and take the lead. Cincy was confident and they backed it up when they received and scored. In the end it prob made no difference but they are so predictable it’s almost ridiculous. They came out flat ( per Milano) and stayed that way. Kudos to Matt for being open. It’s surprising as most thought this would be a highly emotional game. One more playoff debacle emerges with a home divisional blow out. Injuries did play a huge role all year , but not so much today ironically.
  3. Mcd is stability for the franchise. He needs o line and reciever takent , but if he doesn’t get fresh coordinators , things will keep failing in the postseason. We are well behind younger staffs now in cincy , maybe Miami , and Reid is way beyond offensively. Then look at San Fran and the Eagles and we were not a SB contender. You need a guy ,Ike Mcd to create culture / stability , but creativity is lacking with the coordinators and it shows with embarrassing losses in the playoffs. You see a franchise like San Fran who gets it , 3/4 years in the championship game with Purdy at qb , and we can’t even sniff a chance to get there. Wasted a 14-4 season and next years schedule looks brutal on the road. Beane needs to get Mcd help. Frazier had his chances. Dorsey had one or two innovative or trick plays in a year : Reid does them weekly. Says a lot.
  4. Yes , spouting the same cliches is hardly taking it to heart. After that mess against a much inferior team in Miami , a big red flag to me was the rationalization that “ it’s just surviving and moving forward”. Well , we see what just surviving results in against a quality opponent. Josh was not accountable to dorsey whom I think he sees as a peer , not a coach. Daboll would get in his face , dorsey is not capable of that from an experience or age perspective. Josh lead the league , or close to it in ints , red zone turnovers , and had many fumbles. It continued despite his post game promising to learn and “ I can’t do that” , but yet Dorsey and he had no answers in the playoffs. I would at least be looking around to see if I could improve over dorsey.
  5. Franks time is done in Buffalo. He lost the colts team. He was not producing.and is not an answer. Not even close. Look to productive , winning organizations for talent.
  6. True. No creativity in this offense and seemingly little accountability. Dorsey is a good guy but I am at least interviewing for fresh ideas. Kc/ cincy are leaps ahead offensively and afc east teams are ascending. I just think dorsey is so worried about being balanced in play calling but there was no creativity to actually pressure defenses. I did not see Allen changing or being held accountable by Dorsey , who seems more like a peer than coach. We heard the same things for the past month. Bringing in Hines , Beasley, Smoke etc was useless as they were rarely used. We have one useful tight end and I’m not sure why we carry a fullback who is never used. You won’t see creative things like KC’s snowglobe play called by Dorsey. Defensively , Frazier has repeatedly folded in the postseason and you can have all the d stats you want in the regular season, his d fails when it counts. 30 first downs allowed , starting out 14-0 at home AFTER JUST SEEING THIS TEAM a few weeks ago is inexcuseable. Sean is a very good HC , BUT HE NEEDS fresh ideas and input as teams like Cincy , KC, Miami, and the Jets are building. If Mcd doesn’t keep growing , at some point the heat will fall on him. They did have a terrible year injury wise to key players. Miller , hyde, poyer, both dts, and of course the CB carousel was horrific as Tre never was himself and Elams use was just puzzling! Milano was supposedly playing thru a fibula injury according to cover one. The d line was a massive disappointment sack wise and who knows if von even returns. I really expect poyers Bills days are done as it looks to me as if he needs surgery in his left arm ( long head biceps tear?) and was unable to tackle today essentially playing with one arm. Sadly tho , after all the resources spent we lack a premiere pass rusher for the future. Groot is a good power rusher worth 7-8 sacks a year , but the Eagles had 4 guys with 10 sacks each! We are stuck with mediocre talent of epenesa and boogie. I would move on from Frazier but an issue will be then they will need more LBs as this 4-2-5 system has run its post season course imo. Beane is facing a rough , but crtical offseason as Allens years are ticking by without sniffing a Super Bowl. Both sides of the ball were exposed by the bengals who absolutely look at us as inferior. Truthfully , right now we are. I don’t want to hear our d was #2 statistically, because it has always failed in the playoffs. Last year it was 13 seconds and this year we barely got by Miami before being destroyed by cincy with a younger head coach. Time to bring in change to help the HC and optimize Allens talents. This season , despite 14-4 , is unfortunately a disappointment when you get blown out at home in the playoffs. Beane has to bring change , you can’t go in as the SB fav , to get bounced in the divisional round again.
  7. It’s amazing to be located in a cold weather environment, yet our o is terible in cold weather. I am with you on Frazier. Two seasons with good regular season records essentially blown with terrible defensive production in the playoffs. But hey we have a great dvoa! We were at the bottom of the league in sacks I believe. Pretty hard to fathom. I would not be surprised to see Von retire , after seeing that , he might decide it’s time to pursue his other interests. Facing a challenging offseason eso with teams like Miami coming on. This is a big blow to how the Bills will be perceived until they prove they can do something in the playoffs.
  8. I have been attacked and insulted , by certain high ups you would expect better from. Just for voicing an opinion or discussing one from content creators. It is cancel culture gone wild as you can’t even present thoughts. I agree. It never use to be like that here. The epidemic behavior carried over. Best wishes!
  9. I understand your points but I think this was on Dorsey’s inexperience and unfortunately, our side receivers just never developed like expected. I am much more disappointed by a D that invariably costs us in the playoffs. We were terrible getting sacks. Terrible after all that money. Burrows was barely touched. Frazier’s time has come and when you compare our offensive game planning to KC’s, Cincys, we, Beane , have much work to do. You are in a cold weather stadium , yet they play terrible in cold weather. Crazy.
  10. Todays game is about not being out coached by a younger head coach with a less experienced franchise QB. I really believe it comes down to Sean’s coordinators; they know what he expects and they have to come thru. This D has been victimized even when statistically it seems they should dominate. Frazier needs to prove today all his experience matters. Why is it he is not getting Hc interviews despite apparent top tier defenses over time? Ageism? Maybe. But maybe it’s because things l8e 13 seconds happened. It can’t happen again. Mcd has said he was sure Dorsey wanted some series back , like the two bomb throws on a quick 3 and out last week. Dorsey has every weapon available and even some from last year. It’s his first year in the playoffs, so each step is still a learning process. The o can score , we just need turnover free possessions. So imo, rests on Frazier , having had a glimpse what Cincy was going to do and attack. He got a reprieve; and even one of his players got a one in real life. Cincy has a worse O line than in the first game. It’s now a home game and you have Mafia noise to support you. Go after them Leslie! Hit the QB , make them be patient and try to run. How bout for once we don’t give up 7 immediately on the first drive ; don’t let them get cocky? Beane tried the best he could but luck ruined that plan. Today Sean needs competent , quality coaching around him. Take this and you’re one game away from a chance at a SB at a neutral site ; finally not in Kc , not where 13 seconds ruined things. You are set up to be good today, experience says you have an edge. Today had to be good! Good luck and Go Bills!
  11. Good luck today We’re all linked and this feels more invested as a season as I ever remember. We’ve followed along with the whole “ process” , each year getting better , closer , until Beane made a huge move to bring it home. This is supposed to be the final piece , but we’re still undermanned on the D side with Hyde/ Von sidelined today. But the game / chance to move on IS in Buffalo. It feels strange because even tho Vegas has us favored, every analyst is picking Cincy , probably based on that prior first quarter and also our flaws last week. But they forget, we still keep winning as has Cincy, But things set up even better for us to advance to a neutral site for the opportunity to get back to the SB. It’s just one good hour of football to get that chance and today, emotions will be filling the stadium like the days of the 90’s I remember those days and the feeling of anxiety before each of those playoff games. It feels that way when you know you have paid the dues as a team to get there , to keep advancing. This team has paid the dues and never skipped the step of experiencing that pain of a loss on the way there. Cincy hasn’t paid that price yet. They skipped that step getting in last year and missed us by 13 seconds. Today those 13 seconds come due , it’s time to pay it in Buffalo. Today the process pays off and we take one more step to the SB. . I’m nervous, but this is in Buffalo, and it’s where we don’t lose. “ what’s more , we gotta it done! “ Yep, it’s time we have to do it. Hope today is a great day , Go Bills!
  12. Make sure this not only plays pregame but have it ready to go for replay at the half with 30 min left to bury Cincy. No mercy , put any doubts to rest ! Been a long season , a death defying season , historical winter storms season. . No time to be nice to the “GALS”. ! Only one chance to keep moving on this year. Win this and Kc is literally limping into the AFC championship; We can’t waste this opportunity! Why so serious? Why not!? It’s our time! Go Buffalo !
  13. Well , you can function without those ligaments , but it’s not going to be or feel the same. Plus long term I am sure he will have limited function and may end up in the future with a total knee replacement. Short term is much different than long term prognosis ; hey look at guys who have hands with angled and broken fingers ( McFarland) who didn’t get fractures repaired correctly or at all. Pain tolerance, other supporting muscle groups and individual anatomy play a role for each individual. But you don’t have to have intact ligaments to walk. Would love to see how he feels about this decision in a few years and also look at post injury mri proof of the joint before and after “ healing”. Making it back for a game is different than extending a career. Everbody is different ; I’ve seen smokers live long lives but most don’t lead quality lives and one anecdotal case is just that , not a proven trend that leads to great future outcomes.
  14. Don’t want to go back to the past ; ain’t nobody got time for that!
  15. Well , having followed Leftwich from Marshall to Jax , he was overrated as a qb and it shows he depended on TB for success as an OC. TB was not as good and it’s not some mystery that Leftwich can’t sustain success? Belicheck dropped off without TB as well. Leftwich is not some great communicator ; he needs experience and polish before he can lead a franchise. It took years fir Daboll to be prepared and Leftwich and Dorsey should pay attention to that. Why be in a hurry to get a position few hold onto for more than a couple of years ; wait to optimize your limited chances of. success. Reputations are hard to repair , if ever, and it takes great change. Leftwich has plenty of time to get to be a head coach. Ask McDaniels who still is struggling with the raiders and he is running out of opportunities. Chose your path carefully as you have limited chances to be seen as a success and it’s much easier to fail. Daboll did it right and look at his chance to stick with the Giants; his maturity and the Giants success is no coincidence.
  16. I really think underlying injuries which I think will require off season surgery may hinder resigning him , esp with his age. I hate the idea of losing him, but it sure looks unlikely the Bills retain him. Sad as this last season Hyde / poyer only got a couple of games together. Maybe Hamlins situation plays a role if he has any ongoing issues. Why turnover more than needed but it’s about poyers demands as well. He has been a great Bill and one of my fav safeties like Leonard Smith , Kelso , Hyde , poyer. I would even prefer him over Oliver for resigning. The line has proven to be interchangeable or rotatable; the defensive backfield not so much.
  17. I saw Josh on that show and it seems he is not being as accountable this year as in the past. He is not stopping the unnecessary fumbles , carrying the ball recklessly as he scrambles and even in the pocket. The red zone ints speak for themselves and while he keeps repeating “ I can’t do that “ , or “ I wish I had that one back” , the same turnover issues are ongoing. Seems like an issue where he is not afraid of accountability like he was in the past under Daboll and I think Dorsey enables him. Listening to Dorsey never really gives me any glimmer he is actually pushing Josh as his coach , but seems more like a colleague or peer. Josh is still young , and I think this year he is just not adjusting after less than great performances as long as they are winning. I say this as I am watching Daboll convert Daniel jones into a qb who is performing well in the system and not turning the ball over like he did before. There are options available to Josh to avoid all the ints , he is just not taking them and several content providers have shown that. The fumbles had been addressed before but have returned and you can bet Cincy will be having guys swiping at Josh if he keeps carrying the ball like Shady. Maybe it will take them losing and getting sent home before he decides to accept this could cost them a chance at the title. By asking him to have Better ball security, think about situations a little more , you are not ruining his talent but giving him a chance to win it all. Mcd and dorsey need to be forceful in not accepting this as ok; they have won and overcome the turnovers so far but it’s playing with fire. I mean Mcd is stating as much. Josh also had more than one bad throw, heck even tasker pointed out he is missing easy slants if he has to come off his first read as he is not moving his feet to reset and just flips it using his arm. He is missing placement which adds to drops. Fina agreed on his show / podcast. Dorsey needs to quit being a peer and be a coach as statistically teams losing the turnover battle don’t usually keep winning. I just don’t understand how a guy keeps repeating “ I can’t do that” , but then doesn’t change. Feels a bit arrogant and insincere which seems the antithesis of Josh , yet that’s reality. The numbers of ints / fumbles are not fictitious. Zero turnovers and that Miami game is never close. Losing the turnover battle cost the Bills their SB blowout losses; they won’t even get there if they don’t clean this up. addendum ; watch Ross Tucker with Mike Catalana on Buffalo plus YouTube podcast about the issue with Josh fumbling “ he just doesn't seen to get it “, “ I’ve been in meetings where it’s talked about how loose a guy is with the ball “. It’s coming from a pro about the issue of Josh resistance to deal with the high levels of turnovers. This is a real thing , regardless of pff grade etc. Hopefully our star qb doesn’t have to lose to learn or just change being loose with the ball. It’s a good listen from an insider. Also listen to his analysis if the o line compared to others that are still playing. Just an fyi.
  18. Weren’t the pegulas against allowing interviews before playoff games before? Even if it’s by zoom , Dorsey still is not just going in unprepared and winging it. Doing a possible career changing interview a day or two prior to playing against a team whose staff is fully preparing , seems unfair to all involved. Honestly , if I was seriously considering hiring someone , I want their undivided attention , not someone distracted. This is a joke , and if I was dorsey , I would not interview at this time. It’s not like the Carolina brain trust could not shift until at least Monday , and it’s not a high profile job right now. It’s only his first year as an OC, both parties should see if he stands the test of time regarding success as next years competition in the division will be improving. There is no advantage to doing an interview while a guy is actively working on an upcoming game and the NFL should not allow this. So if the Bills O comes out and lays an egg , loses , do you still want that candidate ? How will the players feel if the game plan falls flat ; I would be pissed if a business partner blew off a big meeting that cost me an opportunity and income. All these coaches talk about how time consuming preparation is, sleeping at the office , etc and then you allow hours to be spent prepping under less than ideal circumstances for what is likely a long shot chance ? What does this say about how dorsey is viewed in the organization; if valued I would just give him the assistant coach title , a raise , knock off the interview and not allow this distraction. If they lose , this is not going to go over well.
  19. Yeah but game was moved to Buffalo , so it’s still like having the 1 seed until possibly playing KC, right? If the Gals had won , we drop to the three and playing in cincy this week or kc if kc had lost. We were down Hamlin , and #7 , the best nickel back / quasi LB in the league. Who knows how the remainder goes tho, as this Bills team continues to just win ( gals on a 10 game streak too tho )? They did have some bad luck injury wise , losing 3 starting ol since then perhaps for this game , but hey, Hamlin is out, all pro Hyde and HOF von miller is out, so they can cry me an Ohio river injury wise ! Lol! My issues are we just need Josh to be the best Josh , not shady carrying the ball in one hand , and maybe 11 deep balls ( connecting on 3-4) is not great statistical strategy, esp when backs were open as way to beat the cover 0 ? Not getting to Diggs for stretches is as bad as taking the ball away from someone like Thurman or Reed back in the day. This o line is avg at pass pro , teams are not rushing ends past Josh and also spying him , so Dorsey Needs some anticipation and solutions. Teams will copy that d look. We will need to prob score in the 35 area , so at home our Wr can’t be dropping balls or making route errors. Dorsey tho can’t fall into another 7 sack , def scoring , short field donating O show up. Fingers crossed. Burrows does scare me because he is just very accurate if you’re not hitting him. We have not been getting home well with 4 dl. Frazier will prob have to send Milano / Edmunds at times. . We don’t match up well with their receivers, but Tre may be feeling more confident , Taron had an amazing game against Hill and Waddell, and hopefully the staff puts Elam out there as he played well and athletically can hang with those gals wrs. I just don’t get their hesitation at this point , he is your #1 pick , rookie time is over and he saved the end game against Miami. What more can you ask while Jackson has had a rough year and now possible knee issues? Hyde would be huge but medically I think it’s hard seeing him returning for contact this year (if cleared medically tho , hope he does make it back) so I hope Marlowe / poyer are in sync. Little concerned as fins were running free early and they had many critical drops too. Milano is critical stopping Mixon running and hitting Joe cool a couple of hard times, and Edmunds needs to cover the rbs / tight ends well. Would love to see Edmunds get Sticky hands on a couple of those balls he gets too ! ( po has disappeared with ints with arm issues, so maybe Elam can grab or tip one for an int) Should we get behind , more than 10 , or two full possessions at any point at home , I think odds go to 70-30 cincy as I don’t think Josh has a great record from that far back ( don’t have stats in front of me). But if we can remain ahead until late in the 4 th ( like 4 min time) by 7 or 8 , or keep within one possession, I think it flips to 80% BILLS WIN. 0-1 turnovers or we win the turnover margin and I think it’s a win , like 38-31. Lose the turnover margin by more than 1 and I don’t see how we escape again. I don’t terribly mind the ints too much, but there is no excuse for Josh to keep carrying the ball Shady style, one handed scrambling and certainly not in between the tackles. if Daboll has Daniel jones playing error free, well That speaks volumes about our coaching if the Turnovers continue. Should we still be hearing “ I can’t do that” next week from Josh ,most likely he will be right, he “ can’t “because they won’t be playing. I struggle understanding those type of preventable mental mistakes. Josh will keep a great year going avoiding those. 😀
  20. Perfect summary of the situation. Many posters , in the chats during the game , anywhere on the planet will condemn you if as just a football fan , even as an avid Josh and Bills fan for decades , you commit the horrible crime of stating an opinion that Josh can at times make mistakes. 😉. This despite Mcd saying clearly we played poor complimentary football and we must take care of the ball and both Josh and Dorsey “ wished “ they had a play or series of called plays back in his post game presser. Again , even being a supporter for years doesn’t seem to permit mentioning you should not expect certain types of errors from a 5 th year qb / 6 th year head coach . I think your ideas are spot on. ! 😀 It’s crazy , Dan Fetes, a good natured guy, just put up a YouTube on Buffalo plus apologizing for saying Josh could have done better! It’s crazy he felt compelled to defend such a harmless statement! Certain elements of the fan community needs to get help, stay off social media, take a walk! One enjoyable experience is hearing the same , mob like mentality statement, “nothing matters but the W and nothing carry’s through to the next game “ , as if that’s the only thing or end result that is allowed to be learned or gained from participating in watching and discussing an event that lasted over 4 hours of your life, and a hobby most on here have spent years enjoying and learning about. There is unfortunately a DARK Tetrad ( well researched and published data about anonymous online behavior or online trolls ) of traits of anonymous DENOUNCERS , being they tend to be narcissistic ( people who believe they deserve social status having never actually earned it ), Machiavellian ( manipulate others to get what they want, regardless of outcome to others ) , psychopathic ( parasitic and predatory and willing to exploit people ), and sadistic ( taking a delight in seeing others fail ) , and that TETRAD of traits will be brought to bare against anyone being even mildly critical of 17 in any way , even tho we all have progressed in our lives and careers experiencing CONSTRUCTIVE ( very key word , done in a positive manner , not destructive) criticism. His coaches are supposed to be critical and he seems to expect some Job critique, but offering an opinion even agreeing with his own REPETITION of issues is akin to kicking a puppy, a 6’5”, 245 LBish puppy who leaps tall men to protect himself! Just watch the response tho, as mentioning such admitted errors is evil !🤪 ! Lol! Terrible, right? I really respect/ enjoyed your thoughts on how MUCH MORE dangerous we COULD be, and hopefully these gaffes won’t be the Bills undoing against better teams. The pattern of INTS & FUMBLES ( we have heard dbs knowing Josh will put the ball up in danger in situations, and you can bet they noticed how often he is exposing the ball in the pocket scrambling or out running and fumbling , just as they did for backs like Tiki Barber in the past) DOES CARRY Over or the numbers wouldn’t be building and teams wouldn’t watch film looking for ways to get an edge against an upcoming opponent. Them’s FACTS! 🤔. So , while the ultimate goal is easily stated to WIN & ADVANCE , to just simplify things to the point of believing Josh or the Bills have no influence over that process based on PRIOR GAME performance seems short sighted. Coaching staffs matter, better ones win in the NFL by adapting and based on the last 3 turnover , 17 point blown lead game, this staff needs to provide strategy to overcome some clear flaws across the o line, Josh’s decisions , etc. I think Dorsey has NOT been as influential or demanding ( like Daboll who has influenced Allen and now Jones with a 0 TO playoff win) and that’s possibly why we have not seen the ball security issues reigned in. Ultimately it comes back to SEAN’s responsibility and his level of tolerance of issues that hurt team performance. Dorsey will improve with time , but if they don’t want to waste a great year of resilience and success so far , Mcd needs to stand by his press statements & enforce while practicing that the level of performance against Miami is NOT LIKELY CHAMPIONSHIP quality. I mean, it could be adequate, but seems unlikely doesn’t it? There is no time left to HOPE they don’t keep turning the ball over just because they keep promising they won’t keep shooting themselves is an actual solution. I think Mcd / Dorsey need to step up and actually perform well situationally and get Josh on board ; they won’t ruin his instincts by demanding things like he quit carrying the football like Shady! 😉. I do hope they treat these guys, while playing , as serious enemies and don’t let down because that might be human nature after going thru the Hamlin situation together. It’s great they were compassionate, but not they need an a$$ kicking! I don’t know , but most owners / bosses I have worked under actually expect accountability and the GREAT ones give you tools to keep advancing against adversity and struggles. Now is the point where don’t want to get eliminated based on ignoring simple errors you have identified and promised won’t keep recurring; the Bills have not been able to even compete for their ultimate goal since the 90’s and I think solving the turnover issue can get them there. Could be an insightful time regarding certain coaching careers; Marv at least got there 4 x! And hey, it’s just words and an opinion; I wouldn’t even treat a sore throat without discussing options for the best outcome. People have to be allowed to talk, throw out opinions safely or the community becomes a dogma mafia ! 👍😊 Go Bills!
  21. Yet we were one drive from possibly losing to third string Qb , on a team with a depleted o line , depleted running backs , coached by a ROOKIE head coach as Mcd is entering his 6 th year. You can chose to just look at the final point total , but our o also gave them six points on a strip sack / fumble recovery and we lost other points because of the ints and Josh fumbling before before getting a first down on the initial drive. We played a supposedly vastly inferior opponent ( just looking at records alone , not to mention how depleted their roster was ) so actually 34 points IN THAT CONTEXT, is not that solid. I think teams like KC , San Fran would have easily hung a fifty burger on that team playing them in their home stadiums. I love the w and obviously it’s about moving on. Followed the Bills since ‘63, went to two of the superbowls , and todays quality of win could be an issue if like past seasons , trends matter. it’s funny , Before Super Bowl 27 in Pasadena against the cowboys , I got to attend a dinner with Hank Stram speaking. To my dismay and complete disbelief in the BS I thought he was spouting , he predicted the cowboys would win , easily , based on a formula he used that included a teams turnover history/ ratio. There was no way I thought the Bills could lose three in a row , that’s why I went ! Lol! Damn Stram was right ! Trends and quality of play prior to a given game can matter. Vegas counts on that type of stuff right? Watching this season I wonder if Dorsey is a little too forgiving or too lenient with Josh. It’s not been a great year of ball security by him. Just a thought; yet hard to ignore Dabolls success with turning the Giants around and Jones committing no turnovers in the win today. Dabolls offenses struggled at times last year but he sure turned things up for the playoffs and got the most out of Josh. Dorsey has done a remarkable job but it sure has been a struggle at times. The turnovers just keep coming ( don’t we have the most of the teams in the playoffs ?) and it’s hard to overcome that predisposition moving up the competition tree. It was great to not lose tho and this team is definitely getting good at that ! 👍😀
  22. Man , that is so fluid and effortless for him. It looks like he barely moves and the ball is going 30-40 yards (?) or more defying gravity. That much talent must feel different , invincible like. So happy for once all this talent is piloting the Bills; if they can just reach the SB once , no telling what the confidence of a win could unleash. Took some time for Kelly & all to get there , but then 4 in a row was set free. We need that final step ; why not ? Looking back on those old Bills teams , the only area they really were consistently better was their o line , with greats like Hull, Ballard, Fina, etc. Give Josh a stable line and one more consistent wr , and it might be Pats like dynasty in the making.
  23. I would wait to see if a coach really unleashes more of his abilities. I really blame this loss on coaching decisions as Herbert looked very good in the first half. Look how bad Lawrence was looking , like a deer in the headlights bust under Urbans influence the prior season! ( actually coming from a long time Buckeye fan. I Thought Urban was not the mess as a person like he turned out to be and he was an atrocious NFL coach. Unfortunately for the Buckeyes, Day has inherited some of his arrogance but not continuing to beat Michigan two years in a row and blowing the lead in the Georgia game will prob get him one more year to flip things back , yet losing a heisman candidate qb is going to prove challenging. The Bucks have been atrocious on d under Day , who is an offensively minded coach. I think Harbaugh has his number tho and it was exactly opposite with Urban there. Sorry for getting off target with buckeye talk!) Pederson has literally done a 180 with Lawrence and the jags, so I think seeing Herbert under a coach like Peyton might really untapped Herbert’s full potential. Look what Daboll has accomplished with the Giants qb and Allens development. Arguably , Allen has not had quite the same progression this year with the change to Dorsey. He is still right there with Mahomes, yet he has not read defenses or game situations quite as well. ( only basing this on his red zone issues and giving away certain points at times , even tho the team record has improved but I think Mcd has improved and Miller / great d was there for early season). Allen didn’t really drop back as much if Dorsey hadn’t stayed, I just think his decision making can still progress, as it just may take another year together to stabilize things and a year of experience for Dorsey to further develop imo. Coaching does influence production at the qb position watching as Tua progressed this year under a new head coach. Hard to argue against coaching effects. Take away the unstable coaching for Herbert , place him with an experienced offensively minded quality head coach , and then I would be ready to see where Herbert finally fits, I suspect he will be right there with Mahomes , Allen, Burrows, Hurts , ( Purdy ?) , but above Tua because of versatility and durability. I think he will still improve.
  24. Tried telling people this is not a “ weak” Jags team, but it comes down to good coaching at critical times. Jags personnel won’t match up well against KC and Reid is as good or better than the Jags head coach , so I think KC gets a pretty easy win. But this game it came down to the head coach overcoming his qb throwing 4 first half picks. Peterson made critical choices ; he went up tempo to give them enough possession time to come back , he went for 2, not 1, when Bosa was stupid enough to throw his helmet prior to the post td conversion ( he stated post game he would not have gone for two if not for bosa!) and pm 4 th and a foot they run a wide toss with etienne instead of the qb sneak and puts them in winning fg position. Huge calls and meanwhile under the great coaching on the Bolts sideline they melted down blowing at one point a 27-0 lead. That head coach acts like he is on stimulants or has adult adhd ; watch his interview coming oit at half and he is talking so fast it’s like a flight of ideas. If this disaster piled on top of last week doesn’t get this freak fired, I don’t know what would. That roster is loaded with talent and you have a premiere qb and looks like this would be the most desirable job in the NFL. Once again tho this proves in the NFL you need a really good qb, a very good head coach , and I think the gm is proving to be critical as well in keeping a franchise relevant and in playoff contention regularly. We have all that in Buffalo , now Mcd has to prove he can get to that final step in coaching and at least get to the Super Bowl. There is no one better as a team builder or culture creator than Sean and this has been his best coaching year by far. I think he deserves coach of the year by a wide margin, but the teams playoff performance may decide that as people outside of Buffalo may not appreciate all he has negotiated this year. Hopefully the Bills don’t take the fins lightly tomorrow and get out with a w and injury free. Hamlins stop by today I’m sure will have them relaxed and it’s up to the leaders and coaching to come out sharp early. . The Bolts proved tonight there is never a sure thing and you have to keep the gas pedal down in the playoffs. If we get out healthy and if Hyde somehow got back for the following game , that would be a great chance to keep advancing giving Mcd a chance to finally put last year way behind him.
