  1. Zero margin for error; sounds really plausible and just where we want to be. Probably the plan all along. Just like losing is a great wake up call. Or this’ will be a get right game. Everything we want is still right in front of us. I cant do that anymore (ints). We will watch the video and learn. We are still finding our identity. The other team gets paid too. It’s hard to win in the NFL. ,,,,oh yeah , we need to play complimentary football! Yep, seems like old times and we will flip the switch really soon. We have just not been aggressive enough. God bless you, your are a glass half full guy! The world is better when more half fulls , fill the place! I’m half full about that, really!
  2. He has become belicheck with his canned responses; yet he has won NOTHING more than 3 afc east titles after Brady left and the fins and jets were totally rebuilding. Even that modest streak ends this year His passive aggressive style/ arrogance where he doesn’t even respect the press or fans enough to offer some genuine humility or offer some candor has gotten beyond galling. He is losing the team and community support. People are patient when you win or deliver. His process crap has grown stale . Especially given the multitude of horrible game collapses without 1 afc title. I gladly tolerated losing 4 sb’ s because it was unheard of to go to 4 in a row. We were respected as a team and landed several players, a coach, and a gm in the hof. This obsessive compulsive fixation on “the growth process” has resulted in a joyless brand of football where players are taught not to get too high or too low. Well , in medicine , that’s a flat affect state and is far from normal. Try taking the joy out of your work on a day to day basis , and see what you achieve. Look no further than the low positive state josh now thinks he performs best in. Mcd might have ocd,,,,many highly successful people do have those traits. When he has no control , like in game new situations, he has proven he tends to fail in some spectacular fashions. One thing is certain, he needs control and its his way or you’re DABOLL! Im happy he is leading a successful life, but something seems lacking in the success of leading this franchise to its logical next step , and mcds response was to assume more control. Obsessing over more decisions doesn’t seem like a good lifestyle choice. I’m just making observations , certainly not diagnosing anything. Is it me or does the whole organization seem to lack passion and a cohesive direction at this juncture? Interested in your thoughts,,,,didnt realy seem like many players were angry about losing tonight.
  3. This aged very well, just as predicted. Obviously you should try watching some other teams play besides just predicting bills results based on past years and thru rose colored lenses. Bengals were peaking coming in if you had even bothered to notice, but you chose your bias of we are overrating our opponent. The only overrated team here for the majority of the season , and it’s getting predictably worse, is the BILLS. SORRY, but called this easily going all the way back to the Hamlin game when this signs of offensive disarray were already showing up. Almost lost to a depleted fins team at home prior to this same bengals offense embarrassing us at a home playoff game. Outside of the outlier dolphin win, this team has been spiraling on offense , and to be fair, no team can overcome losing 4 pro bowl type starters on defense while breaking in a new ILB and dealing with two great safeties who should have been replaced. It’s only going to get worse looking at the schedule . But, yeah we gave the bengals too much respect. Hate to let you know but the broncos beat the chiefs, but that’s probably giving them too much credit. Probably another “get right” game we have been being told about For the past month. That comment about burrows calf really stands out as quality analysis as well. Looked pretty healed tonight as he ran for first downs , but I doubt it had any effect the first three weeks when he couldn’t push off. Save this analysis for your archives’/ memoirs when writing about mcd bringing a Lombardi to buffalo! Not trying to be harsh , but reality is a good thing to dwell in. But hey , you played by Tsw rules where any constructive crticicm of the team is frowned upon or canceled, so carry on.
  4. So yeah, the commanders just beat the lowly pats in New England. How bad does that loss to the pats look now? Yeah, pretty BILLSY. THE chiefs and fins played a great, energetic game today in GERMANY. Not one mention of jet lag affecting the quality of play. Yet for two weeks all we heard was how travel was badly handled, even tho the chiefs also got in on Friday, and we had to suffer the excuses of how the bills started w no urgency and that carried over to the bucs first half. YEAH, that is BILLSY whining that you seldom hear regarding other organizations. And , after Aaron rodgers goes out on the 4th play, our vaunted team proceeds to lose to a Wilson lead team , who literally had a questionable future with the jets. We lost on the last play to the pats after having the lead , giving up a 75 yard TD drive to Mac jones , losing on the same play to a te that we barely defended against the giants , winning on the last play that game to a vastly inferior roster. Yeah, that’s BILLSY. After giving up two Hail Mary passes in prior games, we just let another one hit the ground with a buc just a head turn away from a winning catch as BILLS players like Poyer were lying on the ground. Yep, that’s a BILLSY THING 13 seconds. BILLSY thing. Wide right, BILLSY THING. Losing a 16 point lead in the playoffs,,,,hmmm,,,BILLSY THING. Let’s not mention the other 3 super bowls. MAYBE, someday BILLSY will be an adjective or synonym for greatness. Right now it is what it is and it fits too well. THEY CAN CHANGE IT, FIX IT , REAPPROPRIATE IT! Let’s see which way the pendulum falls tonight. If its a 1 possession game , and we lead but the D has to stop BURROWS,,,,,mmmmm, just saying right at this point in history ,,,,,my faith is on the BILLSY thing. Lol. Lighten up man,,,it’s just a wonderful distraction for so many weeks. In the end ,,we are just seen as all pro coach oc’s who have no reasonable clue how to judge good vs bad play and we are not part of their fraternity. They do appreciate donations tho to their foundations or any activity where they are financially rewarded to do the really strenuous work of sitting and signing objects. Heaven forbid we jokingly describe a human beings acceptable , occasional foibles as being BILLSY! AFTER ALL, they only deserve praise. ( forgive the tongue in cheek stuff,,,but real hero’s like good parents deserve more attention than the original ludicris poll)
  5. Sorry, but on replay, there is a plethora of stupid choices by a roster plagued by undisciplined play. How many times are guys grabbing face masks, making contact on third and very longs? Not like this season is some outlier. Some franchises seem to actually play more intelligently. Critical drops, routes running into each other, and players more worried about their post play celebrations have found little consequence with this staff. Thurm rarely did selfish things, Talley led by example. Today after a pick the dbs have to run for their instagram pose. Maybe someday they will grasp its about team. It’s all about my rodeo dance now,,,,Bernard gives me hope as a TEAM leader. How bout expecting more from the players than the refs? Hmmm, unique concept.
  6. Tomlin just wins baby, trends, stats be , well you know! Only 3 coaches for a reason. Guess who also has led a team to 5-3? Every week on here , it’s only the W that matters in a week to week league. Qualify a W here at your own risk , so seems hypocritical to degrade a steeler W. Just saying. Can’t have it both ways,,,,can we? Asking for a friend!
  7. JUST THROWING MONEY at two “names” does not recreate BUTKus AND RICHARD DENT. I guess refrigerator perry and McMahon are next in line ,,,,,like line dance reruns of the SB shuffle! Gm is playing w Monopoly money. Got to admit i love seeing edmunds running alongside a screen pass cuz at 6’5” he is too valuable preventing crossing routes and his waist towel hopefully never comes loose from his belt. Best looking non hitter in nfl history. Looks fantastic fixing his dreads and gloves after every play. Butkus is rolling and urlacher just yanked out his transplants. Fields is the antithesis of McMahon as a leader. Amazing How the black and blue division, Well Chicago, has gone from Windy City to little red riding hoodville, in a straw venue. All they need is to bring on their past mayor in the role of singletary eyes! Good thing they have great hospitals like RUSH, cuz da bears fans are going to be filling the ers up with coronaries as they down brats flushed w pitchers of green beer. Well. They had’85 And that win over grogan and the pats! Seems like yester………,,,40 years ago!
  8. Well beane defended him as analogous to Douglas;s development. Out of nowhere we heard about his “ankle injury” and sudden plays for ir. This helps relieve weekly questions , keeps a small return this season possible, negates beans admitting his rash ,mistake w the pick, and gives another cheap year on his rookie contact as they evaluate Douglas. Would have never gotten any trade value. Very intelligent moves by beane to avoid any chance of another player thriving Elsewhere like a certain brownie ol. Plus its another chance to save face w pagula regarding a missed first round pick. Many receivers peak in their third year so nothing is lost but developmental time on a young athlete. Living in Florida tho and catching gator games , i thought he was very overrated as he was good but on a comparably badly coached team. It’s really about beane saving face,,,,he has done well this year but his RBs drafts and free agent WRs this year are very underwhelming. We’re not 5-3 brimming w depth as the injuries have exposed the d and let me know when josh;s support at wr shows up with Kincaid as his sole standout addition offensively regarding a target for josh. Even that has been offset but Knox reverting back to his undependable hands at crtical times. Thank gosh he dropped motor who was always a fumble or crucial drop waiting as well. And i will praise beane for letting the always soft edmunds go who was always supported by those saying what he never allowed , as opposed to a true playmaker like Bernard. All those Edmunds apologists like the content providers who snobbishly always told fans and thumbed their noses saying we could never understand his value because they are such experts just because they spout opinions on YouTube. Blank the “king: was the most arrogant , yet no admitting how wrong his analysis was,,,,just ask bears fans. I digress , but it was 5 years of spewing that crap and arrogantly demeaning Any other suggestion. Humility is a good character trait….try it occasionally “king” , but that self title speaks its Own delusional ideation. He who laughs last…….haha!
  9. I know this will sound bad, unknowledgeable. I am from Ohio, been a buckeyes fan all my life. I actually argued this point with yolo before young was drafted. I watched him play soft the last part of his senior season despite team success. He was playing to avoid contact, waiting on his payday. That turned my opinion of him. What impact did he have against the bills? Sure he might turn it on occasionally,,,,esp if he might get more$. He does not play up to his billing. Takes plays off and for his athletic gifts he plays soft or below dominating as you would expect. Again , i watched just about every snap as a buckeye. He was a stud , but something changed. Not every guy plays after getting that bag. All im saying is i would watch if the fire comes back. Maybe on a winning team he shows up. Bosa might re light his fire , but i will stick to what i told yolo. He plays soft for his Tarzan persona and Washington giving him away for that little tells me others see something about this guys desire. He will play w new passion trying to prove his worth early, but let’s see his availability and sustainability. Coming from a home grown buckeye fan. Btw, always like and respect your knowledge. Best wishes. .
  10. So only those w your vision/unscientific OPINION, OBVIOUS BIAS , have valid viewpoints according to your logic. As an example , just listened to who i would consider more experienced and prob with more practical experience. Jim miller just said the hail mary by the bids should be used as a textbook examPle of avoiding rush and then thrOwing a perfectly catacable ball. This was seconded by rich Gannon , as bills laid on the field while a Ball hit the turf as not one bill touched it. Given the past two prior haik Mary successes against this regimen , it is inexcusable a flaw in coaching, learning, execution. Also we won 2 of our last games on the last play , lost the other and could easily be 3-5. Pat kiwis said to miller , “does it feel the bills are a sb contending team? I don’t , something is missing and you dont know which team will show up”. Also commented on Dorsey’s lack of adjusting. Miller agreed. So do they fit as whiners “fans” in your eyes , or perhaps experts can look objectively at what they have seen in real life. If you have to revert to calling others opinions names , not even willing to listen or be civil with some analysis , it says more about blind fandom , bias , and an arrogance that only your vision has validity. It’s a forum. There is adequate room for more than one view and i bet you thought / called all wins for the bills prior to losses to the powerhouse jags/jets/pats , but i dont want to put words in your mouth if you said those would be close games. How bout proving some objectivity and let’s see your prior analysis of those games ? Just because some think this bengals squad will be favored and very possibly a loss, doesn’t make them whiners; more like analytical adults. Flame me all you want. Been a bills fan since ‘63, went two sb 27/28, and my fan quality is beyond name calling, and i can be objective as no team has won every game. How many super bowls have we played in under mcd? Hmmmm, Facts are reality.
  11. BEST , honest assessment I’ve seen on this board in two years. Bengals, esp burrow looked fantastic and noe burrow if fully healed ripping off several key runs. His passing was pinpoint again, with still some pressures from the 49ers line. They are getting right, playing very confidently now. The Bills are still finding an identity. People were so enthralled with the BUCS win ; yet we scored less than the terrible previous week ( and we just saw how the fins easily rolled that pretend team)and finished with a series of punts as mcd once again almost turned a win into a loss. People are in denial that we were a Hail Mary from a loss and that BALL HIT THE GOUND WITHOUT A BILL KNOCKING IT DOWN as they were sprawled on the ground “boxing out “ receivers yet GODWIN catches that if he gets his head around. NOT A VERY INSPIRING, confidence building victory. WE saw the bills being crushed before Hamlin’s collapse, then crushed quickly in the playoff game. So you have a peaking bengals o, going up against our arguably worst back 7 , esp with the cbs looking lost at times and the safeties aging unfortunately. I am not sure what is going on with our d line , but the last two games have not been inspiring regarding finishing plays w a sack , and we are not as talented RIGHt now as the 49er s d line. It is just shaping up as a mismatch and Vegas seems to agree. i just think certain teams/ coaches seem to outscheme , outcoach mcd and the bengals coach seems to fit in as one whose teams mentally seem too come in very confident against the BILLS. Mcd has, outside the fins game and playoff game against the pats, proven multiple times he is capable of having huge collapses and no lead is ever safe given his late game d philosophy. Throw in injuries to the d stars on every level , and I don’t see how the BILLS d will stop Cincy from easily dropping 30 against this d roster on their home field. Perhaps the bills can match them on O , but who has confidence any mcd defense will keep the bengals from scoring if they have the ball and need a score to win? We easily could have lost both the giants/bucs game and did lose to a horrible pats team. The bengals , with a fully healthy BURROWS at home, are no pats , as he just went 28/32. So , while i can always hope for a BILLS win, mcd needs to prove he is up to it and I’m sorry, but he rarely outperforms good coaches, with the bengals staff already advancing further than a mcd coached team has. Throw in missing Milano, Daquan, white, von not anywhere close to being someone needed to be game planned for , and at this point i expect a game similar to the playoffs with the bengals out quick and the BILLS trying to catch up. Maybe mcd will show up for once , but now he has too much influence on the bills players psyche , I don’t see them playing with the enthusiasm /energy /passion they used to have. Most stats for the bills have regressed in the second quarter of the season as a basis for this reasoning. Bills coming out with a win seems like a big task.
  12. Fractures with ligament injury depending on fracture location, are very common occurrences. It is obviously the worst scenario as long as there was no vascular injury in addition. Had that been the case he would have been hospitalized immediately , and I don’t know, but he was most likely admitted given the need for fracture stabilization and need to assess risk of travel etc, but that doesn’t imply vascular, Limb threatening injury from the start. Will know more prognostically once we know type of fracture and mri results. It wii certainly complicate recovery if ligament tears /meniscal damage is present. It appeared to be a twisting injury on the lone, very brief view i saw and that raises the possibility of a twisting fibular fracture that could involve the knee commonly, and doesn’t mean there was a more extensive tibial / tibial plateau injury necessarily. When they said his entire lower leg was in an air cast, i immediately thought of the possibility of the smaller , fibular fracture being present because in cases of knee involvement alone , you don’t have to also air cast the ankle like you do with fibular fractures. But just speculating until formal reports are out. I think given the time frame , depending on joint involvement or ligament damage , the recovery could extend to delay him playing early next year , but if there is no vascular compromise , I don’t see why it would be career threatening. On the other hand , this is unlikely , but IF it’s solely a fracture with no ligament or meniscal damage, there could be a chance to return this year. Unlikely but not impossible. The real risk with these traumas tho is vascular injury and hopefully that didn’t occur. Certainly is in a great place for medical care, so t’s amd p’s sent to him and his wife ,Ashlyn, who is a really sweet person. Terrible loss for a really good guy by all accounts. Losing he and white in back to back weeks is approaching the emotional trauma surrounding Hamlins experience last year; just hard to believe.
  13. Yep but BURROW IS BACK, and he looked great with chase today. On the other end of the spectrum, the Milano loss is season long ,and is devastating to lose such a playmaker at a position of relative inexperience. . He is the one guy with pro bowl skills that is virtually impossible to replace in season. Really depressing loss all around today. Will hear the next guy up cliche stuff,,,,but there is no next Milano waiting out there to just step in, unless mcd pulls out a sensational season of development. I wouldn’t put it out of the reach of mcd tho. If this o can somehow produce despite Dorsey, we could still stay in the majority of games. Just not sure that will happen after watching the o struggle almost the entire game today. Amazing to watch a player / offense develop in San Fran (Purdy) while seeing dorsey sink against a very mediocre jag team today. You are prob right about the chiefs , but I wouldn’t rule out the bengals after today, while we are looking at something akin to the madden curse in full effect. Hard to blame on LONDON tho as jags come out shining , 2-0 there after a poor start and look very healthy coming out. Was just a bunch of regular football injuries that occur yearly in the NFL regardless of location, but it sure has been a complete 180 since the high of a week ago.
  14. Agree. This guy has great hands and under someone like Reid , would probably be flourishing. I was always a Frazier critic , always very unimpressed with the Edmunds project and feel very vindicated with both changes this year. Dorsey is the same to the offense as Frazier was in limiting the top end of the D, mark my words after seeing patterns now developing. Have to admit tho i think Kincaid is a little “ softer “ than i expected after hearing all the overly glowing reports from the reporters/ content creators covering the Bills. May need a year to adjust to the physicality of the nfl. Was disappointed to see him not fight thru a tackle early in the game on third down and was driven out a yard short resulting in another 3 and out as the game was beginning. If you cant drive thru or break that db tackle , then how bout being smart enough to run the route to be beyond the sticks to begin with? Many times they have run short , underneath routes with him and last week was his most successful converting those to first downs. Really looks to need some time to develop, but that was slightly unexpected after hearing all the post draft hype. I still cant help but feel tho that he is being hindered, under utilized by Dorsey , and after seeing Dorsey fall flat once again today, i am having an increasingly hard time seeing a vision of Dorsey leading this O to at one time be consistent and on the other hand believing he wont be out coached in a one loss and done playoff scenario. He has games where he cant adjust to adversity in game , only to look better the next week. Not sure that is a recipe to success in the hunt for a Lombardi, and he may hang on with the bills much like Frazier as I don’t see him being some sought after HC prospect while not advancing with a talent like Allen. All the homers will be coming for me on here as they can never handle an objective opinion, but let’s see who is right as time passes. I would be happy to be wrong , and want to be regarding this as it’s a win-win scenario,; just not impressed when these bad offensive output games keep occurring at random intervals as DORSEY has these unexplainable clunkers. It really has a feeling of deja vu to me like FRAZIER on the o side as i watch many examples of more creative play calling and schemes all across the league. Bills have poor timing in developing an unproven OC in the prime years of a SB chase with a true franchise Qb.
  15. Hello from Jax. Rough game today and rougher being a bills fan down here. Just wanted to say hey as i miss Toledo. Spent great years there in med school and did my residency at ST V’s/ MERCY/TOLEDO /FLOWER hospitals. I am 66 now , had a great 40 plus year career thanks to the under rated and great hospitals in that area. Was a great city too with nice parks / nightlife as i was in my mid 20’s! These injuries are to game changing type guys. Not possible to just find the same caliber to plug and play. Like last year, this might be too much to overcome. The bengals looked bad until today as BURROWS looked good today. Doesn’t look like luck is on the bills side once again; maybe there is something to the madden curse given these last two weeks. Best wishes, enjoy the fall weather we just don’t get much of here in Jax fl!
  16. I agree about the critical drops, where if the big salary guys finally make some plays above what are routine plays, plays you see other teams stars making at big times, ( watch the chiefs guys making plays for mahomes) this team could consistently control their own fate in games. We just don’t see that happen on any consistent basis. Also, after Dorsey/Allen combined for that bad JETS game , it looked like they were on their way only to revert back to many poor decisions. Despite all the success w josh under center , they went back to runs out of the shotgun and many times faced second downs with long yardage. Again, only 10 runs or so today after 3 games of over 20 attempts and it’s head scratching why they keep three good backs active yet couldn’t effectively use them today. Dorseys play calling was uninspired, and i cant give JOSH a full pass when he at times seems situationally unaware where he refused to just run for what looked like easy to get 1st downs and threw risky passes again. Long gains/ times getting in jags territory were negated and ended up with no points. Dorsey /Allen failed to adjust early enough to the jags taking away their short passing game, or change tempo until it was desperate and was a huge hole. By then , the d was breaking down under the pressure, giving up time consuming possessions as the injuries kept mounting. Watching the adjustment to going more vertical only after being two scores down , coupled with the drops you pointed out , and it was too little , too late once again. Dorsey / Allen seem to get out coached at times and Peterson/ Saleh both got the better of Dorsey predominantly. It feels like two very unnecessary losses, especially todays , when we have evidence like last week that they are capable of much better. Frustrating! Just from being down here in Jax, the jags were looking at this as a big measuring stick for them as the season progresses. They were really primed to compete today , and it was apparent early that the BILLS did not match them in intensity until later in the game. This staff drops the ball at times and this was another example of mentally being out competed. Too many very poor penalties that sustained drives for the jags AFTER WE HAD STOPPED THEM. I think it’s fair to expect better than that from a very mature squad . Diggs CONSISTENTLY shows up; cant say that for many other offensive players from an intensity perspective other than Josh. The mcd/beane team is really facing a battle now given all these injuries. The season may be much more of a climb given the possible critical losses; i mean who is the one guy everybody would agree losing is a huge blow, MILANO. MCD seemed very intense and was trying to get them to “play with more energy” , expects quality and is willing to bench guys not producing. I don’t think Frazier did that enough , and i am still not sure with Dorsey even with his outbursts in the booth. Maybe that’s why critical drops just keep appearing; something just doesn’t translate / transfer at times. Just a thought as i am watching a KC team where their playmakers support mahomes more CONSISTENTLY than the corresponding guys support ALLEN. Not seeing KC GUYS dropping the ball like we see at times with the BILLS.
  17. True,He was poor , but run d has continued to be an issue all year. D failed to take anything away consistently today, being terrible in 3rd downs. . D has been giving up 6 yards plus a carry. That and the many missed tackles sealed the game with the long rushing TD. D played perfectly last week. This week unfortunately with all the injuries, things compounded. Bills will be vulnerable to teams who can run effectively in addition to their passing attack ,especially with the small lb corp. Today with the terrible breakdowns in coverage missing the two starting db’s, and all world lb Milano being out, and the o choosing not to show up for 3 quarters resulted in losing to a team who had struggled. This is why despite coming off 3 wins, many still expected the jags to pull the upset. This is a very very good staff, but every year they do something that seems inexplicable, and they manage once again to lose to a jags team that beat them 2 years ago in a similar way, and you would think they wouldn’t keep repeating the same ugly mistakes. Quite a different coaching job, production than what we saw last week The o needed to score more than 7 before the 4th quarter; hard to understand NO sense of urgency until it was really too much to overcome. This is still an issue with Dorsey ; has a game where o is not producing and he does nothing to change the pace / playcalling until its desperation time. Hope he learns at some point ,because this inconsistency will hurt them down the road in the playoff hunt for home field games. At times Allen seems to lose situational awareness where he reverts to making risky throws over choosing to run for what looks like obtainable 1st downs, or at the least getting the team in FG range. Those decisions add up over a game and there are too many examples with this staff when big plays still end up in failed drives with no points at all. IMHO, It’s really frustrating to watch such A talented team at times keep hurting themselves, but it’s become a recurrent theme over several years and seems even more apparent under DORSEY’s offensive guidance. It’s frustrating to watch them go 3 quarters or have long lulls in scoring followed by periods of scoring at will ONLY AFTER they have created desperate situations for themselves. It felt like they had overcome that after all the games following the JETS, and then they throw this type of game out there and it becomes evident why national media types are reluctant to believe the BILLS will ever SUSTAIN success over an entire season. Sadly, the injuries today may have really added another large obstacle to their chances at that SB that looked so possible last week.
  18. Was a season ticket holder for ten years , starting 2 years before the team played as you had to make that commitment to even get tickets. I had 2 club seats , 8 rows behind the visitors bench on the 32 yard line. I eventually quit buying because i had always been a BILLS fan and they rarely came to Jax early on. i just preferred watching them live versus tape delays after going to jags games. One of the other main reasons i gave the tix up was the “nice” weather. Those games are predominantly at 1pm. Only half the stadium gets shade later in the afternoon. It was actually miserable sitting and baking in that sun , where temps radiating off the field often got into the high 90’s/ low 100’s. Many times i had to go sit in the Ac cooled clubs to escape sun burns and heat exhaustion symptoms. But I didn’t want to pay huge bucks to drive downtown and watch the games on tv in the clubs; just seemed ridiculous after awhile. Just this week public health officials and several docs made statements to the NFL to advise moving the games to 4 pm starts to avoid the heat illness situation, which if you watched the MIAMI game last year , is an example of playing games in FLORIDA at this late summer time. I believe many fans stay out of the seats as they stay inside the club, multiple bar areas, the pool in the stadium etc. it is just not a regularly enjoyable situation, especially with the extreme raise in ticket prices over the years. I know for 2 club seats in the 90’s i was paying 8k$ just for the tics , not including parking , food, etc or so a year and prices have gone way up since then. Most of JAX is blue collar oriented , with the beaches areas of PONTE VEDRA, Jax beach, Neptune beach, Atlantic beach being more affluent ( esp ponte vedra where the pga /sawgrass and the WTA have their world headquarters. If you drive along the beach in ponte vedra , knowing the area well as i have lived in the town since 1985 after finishing my residency in TOLEDO Ohio , and live about a mile from the beach) , it is literally filled with huge mansions that make you wonder how anyone accrues that kind of wealth! But the majority of Jax and surrounding communities are small areas of Jax/ northern fl , and most are like good ol boy southern redneck type areas. Great people , family oriented, but not a great area of wealth). So officials are becoming aware something has to change or those seats will periodically look like that pic as people cant sit and bake for 3-4 hours while many are consuming alcohol etc. This is a real thing! I don’t care how good the team is ( and arguably under this owner the product has been terrible on the field.,, hey just 2 years ago he brought in URBAN from Ohio state fame , with no nfl experience and we all saw that debacle. This owner is more interested in London, and his global presence than Jax. This is a toy , means to an end for him than any main interest in a NFL product, as i think he is more concerned with soccer. WAYNE weaver was a much better owner for this community imo). No one, not even the NFL, had the foresight to understand the impact of the sun pounding on people for a full NFL game. Seems crazy, but it’s honestly a real compounding issue with the games. I am just trying to paint a real picture , having lived the season ticket holder life, lived in fl after being raised in Ohio , the NICE weather gets old and miserable very quickly if you sit in a stadium during 4 hours of the most intense heat of the day , while paying thousands of $ to watch a product from an owner who has historically fielded an inferior product ( plus people here grew up as gator / bulldog fans who fill that stadium for that annual cocktail party , so people were accustomed to quality, winning college football here long before the NFL arrived ). The NFL values him tho for his international ties; see the JAGS in LONDON the next 2 weeks. The NFL presence has been good for Jax business; its had a Super Bowl which brought great parties /‘entertainment to the area and there are better hospitals now like MAYO, MD ANDERSON, etc that prob wouldn’t have come to Jax had the NFL not been here. I will say SUNDAY / MONDAY night football jags games are amazing as the stadium is filled and electric, and it’s such a different experience without the oppressive heat. One of my happiest memories was being able to take my father, before he passed away with non Hodgkins lymphoma, ( he grew up poor yet became an engineer for a coal company after having started working at the company store!) to a MNF game against the STEELERS (our home in Ohio was 30 min from Pittsburgh), and there were several chicks in bikini’s sitting around us after having been partying all day to be game ready! Great night, one of the best NFL games i have attended. If more games were night games, this stadium would be filled. The night time games are really fun, but even with an improving team , if they don’t change starting times, those stands will intermittently be empty. It’s great for a single game/ vacation etc, but living in this sun / weather all the time drives you to eventually avoid it / take it for granted etc. Plus, when its still hot like this , the area is filled with water activities , boating , the beaches etc so football games will always be just one more thing, just like VEGAS games will have lots of out of town people as its just one more form of entertainment So it’s not “sad”, its just football is not the only driving thing in this community. It just is what it is, and the NFL is partly responsible demanding 1pm starts, and with the crazy prices it is becoming more of a luxury to attend and at that price point, there is a lot of competition in Florida communities. I have lived in the snow and cold and you can mitigate the cold. You can only “un-layer” so much given the heat and even then , spf creams wear off with sweating ! Wouldn’t surprise me to someday see a season ticket holder sue the NFL for melanoma after their only intense sun exposure was years of being a season ticket holder! You know it’s coming!
  19. Just kidding ,,, but not a rodgers fan who had to go on a national show and profess how he will be the first to be back from Achilles surgery in the same year in time for the playoffs. It’s always got to be about him ,,,doesn’t care about the team without him. I’m sorry, not sorry, the guy is always smug. He also did all those things i sarcastically referred too.
  20. Would be nice. No one ever wants to take a quality guy like BIJAN ROBINSON, BUT LOOK AT a mediocre talent laden team like the falcons , who are 2-0 as BIJAN has 170 yards from scrimmage , i heard quoted today, in each of those games. Guy does not go down or OOB with the breeze. Still , we saw glimpses of power running today. It was so great and something we have never had under the beane /mcd staff. They are great but i just hope they stay focused on what it takes to win when the circumstances affect passing. We saw what too much ineffective passing can result in week one. COOK. Is a good college back , but a little light in the pros. Great job today tho with Dorsey mixing it up well.
  21. Didn’t they also start 0-2 last year? So should they be overreacting as history has proven they are more than capable to right their sinking ship! I am, however , almost giddy after being robbed by three no call personal fouls , one missed by a whole team of refs as said / admitted leg whip occurred during the game ending return , to see Lady karma jump into the lives of the JESTS , and the egomaniacal , Hiawatha /Kayawasca using, rules are for you not for me jab avoiding, new surgical tech seeking , dr shopping for KOBE’S Achilles surgeon , i will be the first to MANIFEST my early return for the “playoffs”,,,,,loveable MR RODGERS,,,,whose ship (titanic) is being captained by WILSON ( not to be confused with the Tom Hanks volleyball companion who was much more likeable) and seems highly more unlikely to even sniff the postseason, rendering said MANIFESTATION (long for infestation) by MR RODGERS ,,,,,mute! Just a thought!
  22. I just saw ALEX SMITH ON ESPN W TEDDY B (prior pat lb) and ALEX broke down a few BILLS OFFENSIVE PLAYS. It was absolutely a crap show; ALEX said he couldn’t even recognize what the BILLS WERE DOING, and one of those series was the one resulting in the punt and losing the game The offensive line , including MORSE, looked unorganized and absolutely lost , as they outnumbered the jets lbs a few times with only 1 LB in the box. The bills attempted To run and MORSE WAS DOUBLE TEAMING A GUY WHILE NOT TOUCHING THE SINGLE LB , who the RB then couldn’t even make miss and was tackled for a loss. The run blocking scheme looked like there was no communication. This was repeated a couple of times, and ALEX called out the STAFF and offense , saying this was just not good enough and he couldn’t even decipher what was supposed to be going on. Then in that last series , he showed confused receivers, one stumbling to the ground and also on slo mo , the one pass where Diggs stumbled as the ball went right thru his hands. It was just to point out it wasn’t all on ALLEN THE LARGE ISSUE HE WAS POINTING OUT was he showed blocking schemes that looked unrecognizable. and a receiving corp who looked confused with routes, unprepared, and in his opinion, JUST NOT WELL COACHED. He was obviously defending ALLEN , and it appeared like ALLEN was not supported by an adequately prepped group of receivers. . Don’t shoot me, it was just a min or two segment , but to have a QB like SMITH saying the concepts were unrecognizable in his eyes, is somewhat concerning given the struggles , lulls of the offense , and overall unimpressive trend the O has experienced the longer teams have had to dissect DORSEY and his offensive planning. MAYBE the team was not emotionally burned out in that CINCY GAME; MAYBE the poor coaching and preparation was finally more than talent could overcome? Just asking!? It just looked badly coached and MCD, DORSEY , AND THE O LINE COACHING seem to be INCAPABLE of consistently fielding a well prepared product on the field, and ALEX SMITH WASN'T SHY about calling them out. “ its just not good enough”, was his and BRUSCHI’S FINAL TAKE. Fans keep expecting a dominant win and recovery from last week today, but SHOULD WE ASK , what really is that based on other than games now well over a year ago and IMO, THIS STAFF has not shown any impressive ability to get the best results out of the OFFENSE recently, and this team still seems to lack a dependable run game at least last week. Seeing the light boxes, we should have gashed that d running as they focused on not being beaten deep! I hope i misinterpreted SMITH , BUT HE BACKED IT UP SAYING THE RAIDERS WIN TODAY. ’ This is concerning for todays game with the raiders likely to be attacking BROWN, AND i think JOSH IS now so preoccupied with mcd not wanting him to run, he has done a 180 and is now hesitant to take even open run lanes to keep moving the chains. I think they are at least partly responsible for his play regression. Like SMITH SAID, this is not good enough as a staff to have results like this showing up on film. SMITH AND REX BOTH PICKED THE RAIDERS TO WIN TODAY ;shows how little confidence THEY SEE IN THIS BILLS STAFF AFTER FILM BREAKDOWN. I know everyone will jump on Rex being an idiot / blowhard , but when he was joined by SMITH and others picking jimmy G over the BILLS IN THEIR HOME OPENER AFTER AN EMBARRASSING LOSS, something just makes me wonder if issues are running deeper than we think. Are we burying our heads about the teams last few games? We will know shortly; I don’t think it will happen but if they struggle again, the talking heads may be on to something. Man, they are hyping jimmy g , but josh on espn now. These coaches talks with him are perhaps getting in his head too much.
  23. I don’t usually blame an outcome on refs, but the NFL is ADMITTING there were 3 personal fouls during this game that were not called? That is insane. That’s at least 30 yards of field position , 20 at least BEFORE OT ever occurred, that should have been called? What if those yards were during a single drive ; at a minimum it was at least another two first downs that were denied and the associated series of downs for the BILLS. It’s not a huge stretch to imagine how those errors might cost a fg or at field position that may have ended with a BILLS score , and certainly with the leg whip the winning TD would have come back. The league already looked incompetent with not calling all the false start penalties in the CHIEFS game, i believe , on the OT setting in the backfield and moving before the snap. Wow, this is why I’m glad i have never placed a bet on any NFL game. What good does going back after the fact and fining players do? Like someone else said, maybe the refs should be fined or at least forced to miss a game. I just don’t understand the reason to make this known now; wouldn’t it be better handled privately with the refs involved, as making it public doesn’t repair anything that resulted from missing the calls ? So the issue is these “ missed” , non-calls were so bad that the NFL felt it necessary to levy fines because the plays were possibly dangerous enough that injuries could have happened ? It’s hard to fathom that many significant penalties were missed by this crew in a nationally televised game where you would think the best crew/ refs would be working. I could “ understand” missing maybe ONE personal foul , but missing 3 major penalties in a MNF game? And all 3 were missed in favor of the JETS!? That is disgraceful for this still to be happening in the age of replay, and yet there is no recourse even when the leg whip was pointed out by the broadcasting team at the time! It’s no wonder you hear or see conspiracy people all over the internet complaining that NFL games are scripted ! Lol. That’S worse than someone throwing 3 ints because MULTIPLE PEOPLE WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR MISSING THOSE CALLS. Well, hope the script features a BILLS win tomorrow !! Good luck to those of you smart enough to figure out how to pick winners against a spread with this craziness added in ! Go BILLS! Unbelievable,,,only the BILLS.
  24. Didn’t get a chance , well, actually I didn’t want to take a chance watching people dissect that cringe worthy, horrible game being handed to a team that was outplayed in almost ever facet. It is still hard to fathom that mcd and Dorsey allowed that mess to continue without doing some type of action to metaphorically slap josh upside his head ( man , when i as growing up in the 70’s, i saw a coach actually punch a kid in the chest during practice! Not ever condoning that type of craziness, but wow, why not at least get in his face, yell a little ,take the ball out of his hands with runs or crap, have a lateral to a guy who passes back to josh as DABOLL used to call, anything but do nothing BUT THE SAME), and its good to see KYLE not be afraid to be honest. Actually not surprised to hear that show was cancelled. Despite JOSH being on it , it was terrible and just a self indulgent bunch of drivel. I like Kyle, but that was just like something you might see on twitch ; just a quirky compilation of Kyles interests and trivia knowledge , not really mature entertainment. Not a big loss,,,,,unlike the JETS game!
  25. Agree w your critical but fair critiques about JA after this game and actually trend of games w increasing turnovers. Hard to get thru to a guy with a quarter billion dollars who has no consequences to be actually accountable. ( he is less replaceable than any other player and the entire staff or beane, i bet if PEGULA was asked). The only actual consequence for not changing is to take away his biggest passion/ desire, which is playing time. I don’t agree with the immature whiners and Karens around who are so fearful he can’t handle some criticism or discipline ; we all have to answer for quality if employed, licensed , etc, as a real life issue regarding pay, position, tenure etc. IF he refuses to run the offense by ignoring wide open short throws , keeps throwing into double / triple coverage, he should be benched a bit until the cliche platitudes stop in favor of good decision making, and to be sure this staff stays employed. That won’t break him in BUFFALO , like the little fan boys worry about so much, especially not more so than continued losing or leading the league in turnovers imo. A little constructive criticism tho, if i may. When critiquing someone’s intelligence , it is always good to prove qualified to do so , and a muscle bound type person has BRAWN,,,,,as Braun is more a name like Hitler’s fiancée or i believe a company that makes things like electric razors etc ! Lol,,,i am just kidding with you and, again have felt your criticisms were fair. These little histrionic, panic driven posters stating to stop being critical of a grown man because it will run him out of town, make me think of gamers dwelling in their parents basement who never had to compete in college, work , or demanding professions. I know in my profession being yelled at, belittled, etc was a right of passage and if one couldn’t handle that by striving to be better and not make the same mistake again, the chance of succeeding was little to none. God, this country and social media driven clout seekers are beyond soft. Poor ,little multimillionaire , superstar athlete might be offended or have someone SAY ( not do, which is different) something HURTFUL,,,,awwwwww !!!! Man, my grandfather, who was an immigrant coal miner, must be rolling in his grave. Mining coal, laying brick, etc, is HURTFUL ,,,,not having someone opine about you on the internet ! Sorry for the tangent, but having grown up with miners, steel workers etc in OHIO, and actually having done a little of that work /life , allows one to maintain a perspective about actual hard times or when to be thankful,,,,like getting 250 million dollars! Lol ! Best wishes, and here’s hoping this offensive mess gets turned around or I can’t even imagine how the KARENS will deal with the criticism that will be coming should the BILLS lose this weekend.
