  1. Still doesn’t explain how giving him away to the giants resolves anything in the NFL where what players think or want rarely matters! Lol! This is a new twist!
  2. And screw RODGERS! Hated Brady,,,,now hate this arrogant dark retreating fool who wants to come rain on JOSH’s parade; just because he beat him in golf his new psychotropically ( yes, creating a new word for this clown) affected cns thinks it’s better to compete against the BILLS , than the weaker NFC. Did not think it was possible to dislike this guy more , but i was very , very wrong and not ashamed to admit it!
  3. You are delusional ! First rule of any well run business, never hire relatives because if you piss one off , you now have two pissed off employees to scheme for revenge against you. ! How do you split plays peacefully in that situation? Plus the older guy is getting ready to hit the proverbial wall most RB’s do at some point suddenly, without warning. There are too many FA backs available cheaper, who are more different in running style which is desirable, and you should see how the draft plays out unless you are already in on a guy like the former Lions RB , as has been floated in the rumor mill. But really, see rule #! , NEVER hire two family members as it’s a disaster waiting to happen. For example , if they argue off the field like one gets paid more, they fight over a video game, they share a house but one doesn’t pay their share of utility bills, one doesn’t do dishes or tidy up etc, as the list is endless , it leaks into work and suddenly one guy misses a block getting his brother creamed! Heck , most places i have worked have strict policies about even dating someone you work with. Lol! So most organizations frown on you even flirting at work, and you want to bring in two brothers competing for touching a football? Suddenly on game day we see across the bottom of the TV screen, “certain COOK BROTHER’’ , scheduled to start today listed as inactive after mysterious fall down stadium steps apparently “slipping “ on black ice, opening up an unexpected opportunity for “CERTAIN OTHER COOK BROTHER” to start even after being benched by McD the prior week for fumbling inexplicably after tripping while running near the Bills sideline when no opponent had any realistic chance to make the tackle ! And that’s just the first two weeks before it’s even gotten cold in Buffalo yet! NEVER HIRE FAMILY , HUSBAND/WIFE, BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND, COUSINS ETC to work together in your business unless you crave and enjoy drama! So , NO! 😁. We are facing enough drama now that the idiot RODGERS, has committed to play for the jets! WHY cant this franchise ever get a break,,,BRADY FOR 20 YEARS, NOW THIS DARK RETREAT , PSYCHOACTIVE DRUG PROPONENT , HOT INDY DRIVER DATING & FAILING FOOL , has to end his career in our division just as we finally become competitive! AFC east teams will cannibalize each other and KC will win 5 more SB’S as Buffalo continues its long history of futility. UNBELEVABLE! 🤨🤮
  4. So how does a player being upset with a head coach ( and in this case it seems pretty petty, I didn’t read the article but what is so terrible about letting that slip out unless Waller was worried she might say no and he would be embarrassed, or it would interfere with Waller still being a “player” off the field too if news got out he was no longer a “free agent” ! Lol !) dictate what they would accept in a trade for him? If he is so pissed he is threatening to sit out etc, then let him do it rather than get ripped off in a trade. If he IS actually getting married , those bills will start rolling in as his fiancé, I am sure , expects a certain NFL life style ( no one marries just because they love someone , right?😂). The pressure on Waller would keep mounting , as she would prob be withholding certain assets as well, and seems to me he would eventually cave and play! Guess i need to read about it , but how does the “player” have any control or leverage in this situation, enough so to influence trade value? Someone is “ whipped” in this scenario , and I’m not sure who is really the “ whipee” , Waller or McDaniels ! one thing seems sure, Daboll didn’t get his COTY award by being the guy whipped , and is starting his second year being “ dominant” in improving his roster! 😁 Good for Dabs; no wonder he is always smiling and laughing. I bet he was miserable at times under Mr always so serious , Mr never say anything that could give an edge to the opponent, Mr process himself , but #1 in our hearts , coach McD !
  5. Ask polian, you don’t want to lose your job being unprepared. But the real issue is you don’t want to lose the whole season if Allen is out a half or a game. You owe it to the entire team to be prepared for short term issues with josh. Every team goes down without your 1, except for the amazing 49ers last year with mr irrelevant at qb. Home field can come down to one game , so if josh is out for just a game or two, your gm better be prepared or you waste another year, millions of $, and its an inexcusable mistake as a gm to think a qb will play every down, every year. You are paying miller 120 mil $, to win now, not be set up to just blow a year off. Man, the AFC is murder this year. Mahomes, Burrows,Allen, Rodgers probably (He is stupid coming to this conference), Watson, Jackson, Tua, jimmy G in Los Vegas, Herbert, Russel Wilson in Denver. This conference is absolutely loaded with qb talent. Beane cant ignore the backup qb position , again ask polianm who lost his job when manning was out unexpectedly. I would try to get someone like jocoby brisett if he is free. He can at least win a couple of games. Mitch looked really much worse than i ever expected and lost his job to a rookie from PITT! That’s bad! Has to be someone , dalton is going to the Panthers , but I don’t think Barkley is enough and if Beane ignores it , you just know it will bite us! Hey, maybe bring in the qb from the winning team in the xfl, or something creative. Maybe Matt Ryan would humble himself which might be a decent guy on the sideline as well since the colts cut him.
  6. I guess I don’t totally understand the issue. I think the OP did a nice job of compiling all that information in the post. But i thought we are looking at adding another stud type receiver to diversify the offense and give JOSH more weapons. So isn’t the reason to mention Hopkins at all is to think about him as a legit #2 at this point (And hey, i resent and resemble that crap about AARP ! So to the wise guy that said the aarp team stuff, WAIT TILL YOU GET THERE! LOL! They start sending card apps out when you turn 50 so it’s going to sneak up a lot quicker than you think !). 😊 So wouldn’t the goal be to still have Gabe , but allow him to return to his #3 role so he doesn’t have to face #1 corners when teams double Diggs and roll their 1 to cover Gabe? It’s not supposed to be an either or situation, its about ADDING weapons for Josh , and even at 31, Hopkins would be aa great addition as we need more guys on the field who can reliably catch but also make it difficult to take Diggs away as teams did. In the latter part oft the the season… The goal is to bring in another weapon , not to subtract Gabe , and see if he improves and then is worth a second contract., while also adding youth via the draft and let it play out. Gabe will have to improve, as I don’t care what those year end stats say, he dropped too many balls at critical times and he killed drives. He was too hot and cold and if that continues , he cant be relied upon regardless of his stats. The Bills cant keep having Josh and Diggs as their only dependable talents, its a recipe for losing against good teams as it becomes easy to limit at least one of them in critical times. I know some drops were not his fault, but he failed to make noticeable catches when the ball was dropped right where a WR has to make that type of reception. ( deep balls that could have been scores or put us in fg range). It’s like edmunds, don’t let the stats deceive your eyes or gut feeling about things. Stats can be deceiving, film and your eyes are believable. Gabe has to improve his reliability or the BILLS just won’t keep him. Doing great against 2-3 weaker teams and then disappearing is a sure way to lose trust from Josh, or get him hurt as he has to drop back again and teams are sending the house knowing the line is avg at best. . Hopkins has been a legit 1 receiver and Gabe probably will just never be that so presenting all those stats , while being a GREAT job on the OP’s part, was driven by a bias that doesn’t fit the situation the Bills are in; they need a quality, ADDITIONAL reliable guy with an ability to create separation. Last year Gabe was too inconsistent , regardless of his year end totals . I bet even the QP remembers more than a handful of bad , drive hampering or killing muffs by Gabe. When you watch KC, it’s the opposite as his WR’s make drive sustaining catches, and surprisingly didn’t miss HILL, who lead the league in receiving yards i believe. Gabe can be a part of a great offense , he just needs to be in a situation facing the #2 or 3 corners and adding someone like Hopkins, would help Gabe in that way and he would be single covered much more. Then add some speed or a RAC type wr thru the draft to sustain things for the future and as insurance against injury. We are creating cap room hopefully to add talent , not keep SUBTRACTING and staying on the current PLATEAU of divisional losses.. Having both WR’s for a year is one way to actually have a shot at the SB. IF you didn’t see it , RODGERS gave a FA wish list to the jets, and they already signed one of the guys he asked for.(lazaar i think , so the jets are serious). Other teams are improving and aren’t standing still ; they are close to overtaking the Bills. . If we don’t make the right moves, it’s like being the same old Bills; having a generational talent at QB and letting him stagnate. We are letting prime years starting to drift by while its NOW more obvious to everyone, this wr corp lacks consistent pass CATCHERS and we are lacking innovation in our passing attack. Trends are being set by likely SB contenders ( KC, CINCY, MIAMI , JETS , CHARGERS, maybe the BROWNS too, seem able to RUN in addition to their prime passing focus which depends on a FEW dependable RAC capable wrs , not just one lone star like Diggs ). GABE is still a vital cog, as your hard work proved in your post , and I don’t get discussions advocating just letting him go or replacing him as we should be looking to add another, possibly more consistent option (see Cincy), so he can face corners he is more likely to beat, and he could probably match this years totals in yardage/ TD’s but with less attempts and being more efficient on offense. McD needs to let his REID come out, not be afraid to change the roster and his approach or we will be out of the playoffs as we face a very tough schedule and a very improved afc conference, We split withe the FINS & JETS last year with head coaches less tenured than McD, and who last year had less overall talent. That gap will be gone, so mcd must improve along with DORSEY, or we will very likely take a step backward.
  7. Yeah all those game changing ints, forced fumbles, sacks , and tackles for loss he had leading us to 2 consecutive divisional playoff losses are really going to be missed! 49 mil $ guaranteed would have been reasonable for all that production, passes avoided like crossing routes into the middle of the field , and all those tackles he made 9 yards down the field on third and 8 , but when the guaranteed money hit 50 mil $, it just didn’t make sense any longer. Feels bad after paying him so little for 5 years especially because he was so NFL ready to lead the D at age 19 ! So , what are you saying; this means we are no longer automatically in the playoffs without Tre, because we can now afford to pay and field 53 players each week? You would think Beane would have thought of that before not doing a contract a year before or something similar when Tre was not such a superstar , like before he exploded this year with 1 sack and 1 int ! But in Beanes defense, who expected both Tre AND Saffold to be voted into the prestigious pro bowl the same year ; i mean we usually pride ourself on our roster lacking pro bowl talent! So we probably have to give Beane a pass when he accidentally loaded the roster with 2 or 3 of those talented guys all in the same year. That sure screwed the PROCESS of drafting, growing, retaining your own guys, especially when drafting a guy so young we were assured to have him anchor the D for at least a good 10-15 years. I guess despite all their regular season success, McD , Beane may have to take a step back , re-evaluate their philosophy just like KC has done for 5 years after being forced to play so many extra games and then draft from a limited pool of talent as they seem to always be picking in the 30-32nd spots ( well, excluding that one year when Mcd felt bad and gave them the 10th spot just so they could have a shot at the limited QB talent that year; funny how our success has been so intertwined with KC! Sure has been a good thing McD learned so much while with Andy!) LOL, just kidding around! Tre may become good if used appropriately, which I don’t thin was ever the case here , and I think it showed in how edmunds seemed to be very eager to get out of Buffalo. Sure he wanted to test the market, but he never talked enthusiastically about wanting to continue here, just threw out an occasional cliche or platitude about the NFL being a business, and he would be happy staying but always cut that subject off quickly. This was the only year I saw him ACT like a leader showing enthusiasm , and being a contract year, that’s pretty self explanatory. I think we will be better , certainly hard to be any worse as we lost when it really mattered after all , and we all know this teams success is based on JOSH, not an ILB in a soft zone D. Tre and Chicago are both going to find out he is no URLACHER , BUTKUS, SINGLETARY, SMITH type LB, who is intense , hard hitting , and a game changer, and TRE is ok regardless being 50 mil$ happier. He is a good person, i just think he was completely miscast in Buffalo. Chicago is banking on that thought, literally. My predictions are Bills fans will finally see true impact performances when Milano plays alongside someone with football instincts and aggression who likes contact , and the Bears fans , who are used to exceptional lb play ( they just had roquan right, and URLACHER was fast but nasty with his tackling and was a playmaker) will be seeing a soft, more gentler style MLB ( unless they use him differently )and they can talk about all the things that didn’t happen because of TRE or discuss all the times he is “around” the play after someone else made the tackle ! Things probably worked out for both sides. I wish him good health, but wont miss him as a bills player i enjoyed watching play.
  8. Hope not! Thank God we no longer have to hear how great he is because “teams don’t throw in his area, he prevents so many passes”! All those guys who kept telling us how great he was , how most of us could never grasp all he did for us , can STFU as the great Brandon Beane (who “we all trust in”) didn’t even see the value to resign this defensive “leader”! Finally the eye test meets up actually how valued he was. Of course they will still argue he was so great he just out priced what we could afford ,,,even tho we know he could have been resigned earlier if the Bills brain trust had believed the hype we all had to endure. So the Bears get their next star LB , their next BUTKUS, their next BRIAN URLACHER, their next MIKE SINGLETARY! Yep, TRE always came to mind as well when those names were mentioned, and now he can take his one standout , highlight tackle in the flat against the Fins , and become the next monster of the midway! No doubt, the Bears are all set as TRE will get them from having had the overall #1 pick , to dominating the NFC ( despite the Eagles, 49ers , cowgirls, and even Giants and Vikings still on the move).! Good luck w that BEARS,,,you just got the antithesis of the aforementioned great , intense, HOF linebackers , with his charmin-like hard hitting , tackle from behind, pile on, arm tackling , he’s so young , stud that will lead your D in playoff time where his play level rises, to a SB run for the life of his contract! Personally, I would be happier to see Shaq back than relive the Tremaine tenure as we all can forever remember the great defensive results of the past two divisional playoff LOSSES ! The point being , you play to win the SB, and we barely sniffed a chance with one AFC championship appearance with our great statistical defense. I’m excited to see what happens if they add a real productive LB with the super talented Milano ! ( would love to see the bills load up with someone like Jack Campbell behind a vet, add a legit rb like dijon, get a true #2 wr as a vet FA addition plus draft a young wr and tackle / guard in addition to McGovern , and i would not regret losing TRE, and I bet you guys will end up happier as well). It’s a new part of the process, and it should be better with experience, and all the “learning” opportunities. ( look , I think Tre is a great, standout young man who was probably used in a way that limited his visible impact in the big picture and maybe his best football is ahead of him. But its time to quit throwing money at the D yearly, and time to stick by a firm limit to spend on certain positions, and support the best player , Josh , as the AFC is becoming loaded. Just the afc east is going to b a dog fight so it’s time to maximize your best asset and best chance to make it to the SB and that means not spending 50 mil$ guaranteed on a better than avg ILB. Hopefully money gets shifted to making our O better , as like the chiefs, a great offense is our best shot to compete) ’
  9. This is sad news; i grew up developing my love for football and the NFL watching and listening to coaches like Bud. Guys were great leaders of men, back when men were men with no “toxic masculinity” , just great husbands and fathers with work ethics that were examples of how to succeed in all phases of life. We’ve lost strong role models as we’ve seen the breakdown of traditional families and Bud Grant was by all accounts a good role model and was an example of the great that the NFL was part of as the league grew around legends of the time. Landry was a man like that as well, with a larger than life persona. Lombardi , Hank Stram, Madden , and of course Marv Levy are all examples of what i remembered to be good about the NFL and were some of the great coaches i grew up watching as the NFL blossomed over the years. I don’t mean to leave other great coaches or owners out , i just mentioned a few i remember seeing as a kid /teenager with limited games to watch as i became a fan and got hooked on the NFL as a great hobby and interest for most of my life. Those were some great Sundays watching games with my father, who was a Joe Namath fan, but still was such a great father that he went with me to SB28 in Atlanta because i was an obsessed Bills fan and he went with me hoping the Bills would finally win it all as I had followed them starting way back in ‘63. Losing a guy like Grant , even tho I was never a Vikings fan, feels like losing another small piece of the carefree time as a kid when sports seemed so important because life’s realities hadn’t started to hit very hard yet and it was usually just about having fun! It will really mark the end of that time for me when Marv passes as it will mark the end of a great era and time in my life when the NFL really began to become more of a business as free agency came in and players rarely stayed with one team for a career. RIP Bud, and thanks for being a part of my growing up and growing into a lifelong NFL and Bills fan , and thanks for being a part of the GOOD nostalgia the NFL was built on before it became largely “ me” oriented, where now hours are devoted to hearing about guys getting their bag and we are focused more on cap space than following a guys career development with our favorite team. Losing a guy like Grant is losing a great coach and great man, but for me it also signals another small piece passing of a simpler time as a fan when you knew every guy on the roster of your team for several years, a coach was around long enough to lose 4 super bowls, and talk was about football and not contracts and cap space. It’s another part of the “sucks to get old” reality that football provided a great escape from !
  10. Maybe you missed some things. Their first year coach won coty while our 6th year HC has never won that honor and is famous for defensive debacles like 13 seconds. They got just as far in the playoffs in that coaches 1st year with supposedly a lessor talented QB and overall roster. They can run the ball while the Bills struggle to have a run game unless you include josh as our leading runner. A player they took from our PS, since our wr corp was so dynamic , became their best wr and signed a new contract while we held on to a wr for his special teams prowess yet he rarely played due to injury and probably has little future value to the BILLS. While we barely beat a fins team playing a 3rd string qb in the playoffs on our home field, the Giants went into Minnesota and beat the Vikings , a team that managed to perform the greatest comeback in football to beat us on our home field. Like the BILLS , the Giants got throttled in the next playoff game , but the BILLS were playing at home as favorites. You didn’t finish your other thought “Daniel jones could never “,,,,,could never what ? Lead the league in red zone ints? Just being a little sarcastic , but I don’t get blind faith as so far this staff has drafted a true superstar qb, but what else have they done, while Daboll proved coaching matters in the NFL , and no matter how good your qb is, he cant win games without surrounding quality support. McD has tremendously underperformed in the playoffs with a 4-5 record and has lost 2 consecutive years in the divisional round despite being 6 years into his “process”. He has had multiple drafts and offseasons to improve things like the DL,OL. RUN GAME, WR CORP, , achieving a plateau it seems, while Daboll took Daniel Jones,an inferior roster, and made it much further than expected in his first year . So, maybe they wont be “the BILLS WITHOUT JOSH ALLEN”, but maybe you don’t have to be to win in this league if you can adapt with coaching and actually use players creatively rather than finding ways to keep highly drafted rookies on the bench or losing players you drafted to other franchises who went on to prove them to be capable players. ( 0ne time ,the o lineman to Cleveland was perhaps luck, having it happen again losing a wr when our wr corp was bringing back guys they had cut, is either arrogance or stupidity regarding your ability to find roles for talent you have). Time to look in the mirror rather than belittle or minimize other franchises when our staff is living on past achievements and has blown opportunities in epic fashion. The well coached 49ers made it to the NFC championship behind mr irrelevant at QB, so the Bills staff is hardly some great role model. The Giants are just beginning their process , while we are now going to face losing integral parts we were told were here to grow, be resigned, and win a championship with. To top it off , the DC steps down without prior hint or much notice and it just gives the appearance of turbulence or chaos as other franchises with less tenured staffs are noticeably on the upswing ( eagles, jets, fins, 49ers,giants,Cincy, and lets not forget the champs ,KC, who never seem stagnant). Just saying, be careful holding this staff /franchise as some best standard; while having overcome the ineptitude of the drought years, they have made their share of blunders and still haven’t delivered what they promised or were hired to do, actually win a SB! Maybe they should try to get to one first and apply all that “ we’ll learn from this” knowledge! At this rate, the Giants may get to one before the Bills!
  11. I agree that was amazing fun. Still, quality means something regarding wins and it provides clues to post season success as trends develop. Despite the wins, if we are willing to be honest, we could see the quality of play deteriorating at seasons end. Struggling and then losing at home in the playoffs didn’t used to be the Bills way. They used to play their best, highest intensity games then, and rarely if ever came out flat like that Cincy game. It was a crazy , injury plagued , and I hope , an aberrant season leading up to the playoffs. My only concern is it is three playoff disappointments without one SB appearance and each year has ended with some form of coaching gaff or appearance of being out smarted. He has to clear that playoff plateau , as newer staffs ( Cincy, Philly, Miami & the jets beat us with less talented qb play under younger HC’s) are showing rapid progression. The 4-5 playoff record is a monkey on his back , and is tarnishing his stellar reg season success. He is great for the culture and city, but marv at least managed to get 4 shots at the prize, so fans shouldn’t be content with less now, having a gifted franchise qb; one they patiently waited 17 years for. I hope he is the coach to finally win it all, but his margin for error keeps getting thinner. With Frazier bowing out , it’s like a noose tightening. Let’s hope its a slip knot and he doesn’t hang himself but instead, crafts a bow around that Lombardi to give to the Bills mafia.
  12. Sorry , but when your d collapses in 3 playoff losses , two of which you blew leads in, the grass wasn’t all that green to begin with. Again , in 3 losses , the great D gave up 107 points, 1403 yards , and lost one lead with only 13 seconds left to protect . When it couldn’t do that , it promptly let the Chiefs march down the field as an encore for a game wining TD. To make matters more understandable , each of the teams that beat us with our vaunted D, promptly lost the following week and didn’t look like the same efficient offenses the Bills lost to. I remember wide right, and that great Bills team never recovered in playoff performances after that loss. Wins just don’t happen because fans expect the team to keep progressing. Blowing that 13 second game, when Allen had two historic playoff performances , is something that could be analogous to wide right ; Allen and the team actually regressed in the playoffs this year , barely beating the fins behind a 3rd string qb , and then never being a threat to Cincy. Many analysts who were staunch supporters , are suggesting the team is at a crossroad and may regress. That includes Greg cosell, Bucky brooks, florio and sims, so they don’t seem all that optimistic with the current talent. I wouldn’t call our situation currently green grass , more like weeds that needed a cleanup and pruning. Regardless of what happens now as Frazier rests, you can’t get back those lost opportunities. Even if the D is worse , and the record is worse ( which i expect given the strength of schedule and teams like Cincy, kc, Miami , and even the jets improving as they nearly beat us twice despite their terrible qb play ), it seems like a change in a positive direction to be competitive with teams like San Fran and Philly. We didn’t belong in the SB this past year after watching the caliber of play in that game. I don’t see how the grass was so green ; beating lower tier competition , yet losing to playoff caliber play a third year in a row seems more like the color of fertilizer than a green pasture. 13-3 was very enjoyable, but having never won a SB and watching teams like CINCY & PHILLY,with less tenured staffs leap frog us, dampens all that great regular season success. I think it’s fair to feel it’s possible to be better, especially having probably the best qb in franchise history playing in his prime. Change helps clarify if you have the right HC at the helm or are you just wasting Allens prime years. Maybe the grass can be greener on this side of the fence if McD has better support. Remember , the fans didn’t make Frazier take time off; that either came from him , mcd, or above, so maybe lecture them about expectations !
  13. Great point and way to cut thru the BS ( forgive the pun!). The big issue is most of those HC’s talked about , did not have a unicorn , star athlete the size of a lineman with the quick twitch of a RB/TE type player , who happens to be able to throw a ball 80 yards in the air and drop it in the wr hands , and also has proven to be very durable as he didn’t miss a single game this year. ( all other afc east teams started at least 3 qbs during this past season). 6 years of mcd and this year he suffered losses to Miami and the jets ( with a rookie ad 2nd year hc), and squeaked out a wild card game AT HOME against the fins prior to seeing some of the least inspiring play in a playoff home loss the following week. His playoff record stands now at 4-5 , hardly inspiring confidence for the future. Two of those playoff losses he squandered leads , with the all time debacle being 13 seconds. Just take a look at the still pics of how the D was set up at critical times in those games, it is inexcusable and unexplainable. In the Cincy 3rd and 4 yards play , tre is 8 yards off the wr , and with wr’s in trips to the right , not a single Bills defender is even in the frame! Look at a still pic of the D in the final 13 seconds game and it was even worse. In his last 3 playoff losses the d gave up 107 points and 1403 yards , and each team that beat us was promptly defeated in the next game. McD touted how much they learned from the KC game , yet we saw the D fail at PLAYOFF time again. I admire Sean as a man , but his playoff performance has suffered from coaching gaffs! Kelly was a hof QB, and having watched his entire career even attending SB’S 27&28 , without a doubt Jim had no where near the all around talent Allen has, and it’s not even close. We saw what 17 years were like without a true franchise QB. To not even make a single SB appearance at this point with a true FRANCHISE QB, while watching Mahomes ‘who has only been in the league 1 more year than Josh already win 2 , is a red flag concerning this coaching regime. As you stated, other coaches have won with less talent, and it should be a warning losing to Miami and the jets this past year. Arguably Philly , Cincy, ( with less tenured coaches) look more advanced , and the 49ers , and KC aren’t going away either. The Bills went from preseason SB favs, favored in every game this year , to now having a DC “take a year off” , while possibly facing losing edmunds & Poyer , with Hyde and Tre aging and a d line rotation that has failed to develop impact players. Meanwhile, our 120 mil$ star is coming off an ACL ( and frankly seems more interested in his future social media career on instagram, twitch etc , than being around Buffalo & was the only player i saw not visibly all that disturbed by the Cincy loss ). Additionally Beane supposedly can make limited moves because of the cap. Analysts like Bucky Brooks have stated this team is at a cross roads and may be regressing with no offensive identity, and Florio & Sims echoed the same. Something is wrong with the process; while personally I’m not disappointed by Frazier taking a sabbatical, it comes at a strange time out of the blue, and it just seems like organizationally something is amiss. Like the old saying, where there’s smoke , there is usually fire. All those stats posted about prior coaches trying to justify Mcd’s performance, ring hollow if he has another similar failure in the playoffs, or possibly given all the positional coaching changes, failing to even make the playoffs. Perhaps all the changes are for the good , but I’m at the “show me” point with this staff.. It’s even hard to really feel enthused about the draft because we have seen mcd’S reluctance to use rookies , even as we witnessed rookies for KC contribute to a SB , and all around the league we watched as rookies contributed on other teams. Mcd is looking somewhat dated regarding his philosophy with rookies, and while he has created a good team culture, that alone has proven to not be the main ingredient leading to a championship. Greg Cosell of NFL films and a weekly guest/ supporter on the show with Brown & Tasker, called the offense “josh & Diggs , an average at best o line, with no commitment to a run game, and a bunch of other guys at wr”. Many are recognizing this roster is lacking talent and lacks offensive creativity compared TO TEAMS WHO HAVE PLAYOFF SUCCESS. This is shaping up to be a critical year for Mcd; without Frazier , it’s Sean’s D and I believe his seat is getting very warm. Unfortunately the schedule looks rough, even losing a home game to London. You are right, this HC ‘s success is now only fairly measured by his ability to get beyond the plateau, and win a championship. He can’t continue failing that next step while having the benefit of a true , unicorn franchise QB, as that type of unique athlete remains around for a very limited time. Regardless of all the rationalizations, most of those coaches didn’t have a Josh Allen , and that may actually shorten Seans time to be seen being successful, as without that SB win he is wasting career years of a phenomenal QB. (best wishes Mr Weo, stay healthy , wishing you joy with every case as time flies too fast, T’s & P’s for your continued success!)
  14. I agree , and in this case the ‘doctor’ is a doctor of physical therapy ( which is the most common path taken by physical therapists now and should not be confused with the same length of education required to obtain either an MD OR DO degree , and those drs go on to residency or subspecialties for several additional years to obtain broad certification and specialty boards.), and he is just explaining a mechanism without ever actually examining or talking to josh. Please, Don’t get me wrong , i have seen his work on YouTube and he is very knowledgeable about rehab and PT. He is a great guy and devout BILLS FAN and I enjoy his work on those YouTube shows. But he has no special insight into things like joshes pain with certain throws, his pain tolerance etc , and i am sure Dorsey did not offer up to him that they had to limit their short game offense. It’s a great mechanism explanation, but there is no objective proof that’s what took place. Just saying , there is no direct evidence to support this opinion as far as i am aware and it’s nothing more than a theory regarding the bills offense. Who knows if the strained ucl had any particular effect on josh; he mentioned on brandts program he got prp injected immediately and he made the decision he was able to play that following Saturday . I don’t think they would favor letting him play if they knew they then had to eliminate vital or large parts of the offense just for him to be on the field.Seems counter to McD’s philosophy. I think in the past they have stated if you are going to be on the field you are expected to be able to perform your job , or why be out there? I don’t know, just an opinion , but josh doesn’t seem like he would avoid throws as he has proven to have a high pain threshold ( i think each other afc east team had at least 3 other qbs play at some point last year due to injury , as josh never missed a snap because of injury), so unless the therapist has insider knowledge (which he has stated on YouTube he does not) regarding Josh and the offense , this is just theoretical , and i agree with Gungy, seems more like an excuse rather than reality. I think that part of the offense that disappeared was more a reflection on Dorsey, teams having film on his offense as the year progressed, and his inexperience as a coordinator, more so than josh being limited by pain. If I hear that from josh’s mouth, that he removed short throws , then i will believe it.
  15. I was driving today and heard EB’S presser after being hired by the commanders. I can see why he would be perceived as a bad interviewer. His press conference was over enthusiastic in a non professional way. In addition it was one cliche after another strung together for the entire time. There was not one sign of original thought, just a run on from one cliche to the next as I listened on Sirius nfl network channel. His “ enthusiasm” , imo, came across as non genuine and he sounded over the top like you might expect to hear from some young, newly hired high school coach, not someone at the highest professional level in the worlds most successful sports league who had just finished 10 years under a HOF HC , winning 2 SB’S along the way. If you get a chance to hear his presser , ask yourself if you have EVER heard McD sound so overly , almost insincere like , in his enthusiasm. Mcd is enthusiastic , but very calculated and professional, and if all someone’s vision for his offense is a playbook of coaching cliches, there is no way I hire them as their prior success is most likely a product of their association with a very creative supervising coach. I am not impressed by just the rah , rah approach in coaching adult professional athletes. It would wear thin very quickly. Couple that with a criminal, violent history regarding women in the past and i am not shocked , even with an emphasis to hire minority coaches , that EB made this type of lateral move to have any shot at a HC position should Rivera’s health fail. Just one full press interview and the quality difference between how mcd comes across and how EB came across is pretty eye opening, and told me all i needed to know regarding his past failures to land a HC position. EB seems to be in a no win situation perceptually. If he has success , it’s because he is using Reid’s system and is again under a very experienced head coach. If the offense struggles, it’s because he is now own his own , away from Reid and Mahomes, and he probably wont be seen as someone who can take a struggling offense and creatively turn it around. ( Dorsey found out similar things with daboll gone , but he at least has support from a premiere QB and mcd, and hasn’t been turned down for several years attempting to land a HC job.) I just don’t see this going well for EB ; grasping at a lateral move in a very dysfunctional organization for your most likely final path to becoming a HC, seems like a desperate last ditch attempt to by whatever means become a HC. It feels like a vulture sitting in a tree looking down knowing rivera’s health is EB’S main determinant regarding his head coaching future rather than getting the position based solely on merit. Opportunistic , or distasteful? Just an opinion, but i hate cliches as ones main communication go to.
  16. It was ONE HALF OF ONE GAME where I think most would agree the d performance dropped off , the 2nd half of the Vikings game. Name ONE OTHER scenario where his absence was obviously missed, please? Also, our offense began to a struggle and I think had some turnovers in that game , (forgive me from just going by memory , but I know we blew a big lead and we saw several other games where our O went into a shell as the opponent figured out Dorsey’s offense combined with at time poor decision making on our QB’s part) as the Vikings came from behind. Yes , their o made plays, including the offensive play of the year which had nothing to do with edmunds, but poor CB and DL play which became a recurrent theme. Everyone suddenly wanted to make that same correlation with edmunds being out , yet there is no way to make that EXACT correlation as the offense didn’t play as well as it had getting the lead in the first place, and we were down to having Cam Lewis on the field defending someone like Jefferson. The same exact scenario happened with edmunds playing during the MIAMI playoff game, as we blew a large lead and barely won the game, yet no one points out edmunds role in that defensive debacle when he was healthy and leading the defensive effort against a 3rd or 4th string QB! There is no way to prove that argument about play dropping off by the D was caused SOLEY by edmunds injury when in fact we were beginning to see this pattern happening repeatedly as we faced better teams who game planned for Frazier’s D , and ultimately lead to Cincy ending the Bills season with Edmunds on the field. The two things , his injury and the loss, were just as likely coincidence as being a causation, and the loss was multifaceted with errors on BOTH SIDES of the ball. I think them not extending him when they could have the prior year speaks volumes. You know what is interesting , why don’t we hear much about games that EDMUNDS made a game winning play in? Can you post a few of those he played a SIGNIFICANT , GAME CHANGING ROLE in , just as a counter to ascribing the Vikings loss mainly to his absence for a half? Probably going to hear crickets waiting to see those type of game results over his 5 year career being posted. Maybe that’s why he wasn’t extended; when you have to sit and think that hard about games he positively impacted so much it resulted in a Bills win, maybe his best year still wasn’t that exceptional and maybe that level of production can actually be matched or bettered for less money than his ‘reputation” might garner. If they do bring him back at a fair value, I’m all for not creating another hole to fill, but at the same time I’m not panicked if he signs elsewhere . I think we have a star in Milano, and we just need to find a complimentary LB to keep the D performing well enough to not notice a significant drop off.
  17. Yeah, his career total of 6.5 sacks , 2ff,, 5 ints for 27 total yards over those 5 years is almost HOF, irreplaceable game impacting stuff that might just start another drought if not duplicated. I know I don’t have all the stats on passes he prevented from being thrown because he was around the area, and I’m sure he can use that argument for deserving to be highly paid, after all, that’s always the main argument given by supporters when criticized ( yet relying on non-events for deserving a large pay increase seems more risky than having actually produced on the field imo) The Bills were in that drought because they lacked a franchise QB, not because they lacked any LB play. I think that point is mute now. KC didn’t win 2 SB’s because of their stellar defense; they have a hof HC & QB (most likely), wouldn’t you agree? Relying on needing a particular LB, unless its someone like parsons or maybe a star like Miller, to get you a SB title seems like a flawed strategy based on the history of success of teams with multiple wins who got there because of great franchise QB play (kc & Pats). Just let those career stats sink in for a guy drafted 16th overall , who supposedly is some freakish athlete. He may be that, but he is not freakish on the football field and his lack of impact fits those career stats and the eye test we’ve witnessed for 5 years. This last year was the first year he played with some visible intensity, but it still resulted in 1 sack, 1 Int , more balls that bounced off his hands when turnovers were needed, and he was still seen trailing plays, getting pushed out of gaps or tackling rbs from behind more times than he ever was seen making a TFL. THESE ARE CAREER STATS OF AN IRREPLACEABLE,IMPACT LB? I just can’t see it that way. Even in mcd’s D, those are embarrassingly small numbers of impactful plays on a winning team and I think are proof they won in spite of him , not because of him, and I don’t see how it will be that difficult to at least match that production moving forward. He may be much better in another D schematically and actually become that star we hoped for , but what difference does that make for the Bills as long as McD/Frazier stay together ?
  18. Yeah,,,kind of hard to like such a humble A@@ hole. Rough day to be his brother.
  19. THAT and 6$ will get you coffee at Starbucks! Lol ! Hold onto little things ,,,,but cincy worked us and Miami almost did. It was a nice reg season win,,,maybe next time don't give up the best play of the year to lose a game at home (Vikings game, so you keep home field advantage. Yet, even that didn’t stop cincy ) in typical bills fashion, and dont come out totally flat and get out coached on Your home field in the playoffs. How about just quit losing as much in the post season ; having a 4-5 record is not going to get you more than one lombardy even if they had put all 4 of those wins in a single season. It’s time for the process to produce and quit being passed by other staffs. Just being honest,,,,talent is probably there but coaching errors ( defensive mistakes coupled with an inexperienced OC) keep this team from reaching its potential. When your DC has a “1” D, and cant get a HC interview or even win assistant COY recognition, and you keep going back down that’s path, people will bypass you in this league. Results are the proof.
  20. Well,,,,,sorry no trophy’s a given out in reg season. Still doesn’t make up for that terrible cincy game. Sorry. Just was an epic failure AT HOME.
  21. Eagles may have been the better team , but in this game bring here before really matters. I mean , based on just the past, would you really bet confident mcd/ Frazier would not make a critical error first time there? That’s why missing these chances to get to the game feels worse.
  22. He was in pain before half. Bet he got injected with some marcaine ,,,,local agent that lasts several hours to numb an area. He is moving too well with a high sprain without thinking about having a block being done with so much on the line. Not like there are worried about next week.
  23. Give you the fumble,,but the punt return was a great play and wall was set but. These teams aren’t committing stupid penalties and they are makin a large number of good plays. You just like to argue, right,,,,never concede anything just to make sure you’re heard right? lol.
  24. 2 well coached teams not shooting themselves. Plus their guys are actually making plays and catch the ball !
