  1. Will always love the BILLS , esp the 90’s teams and their greatness, but imho the final 4 is more pure athletic joy to watch over the much hyped , but often predictable, often less competitive Sb! For one thing tonight’s national anthem was performed beautifully , flawlessly , with no improvised runs or interpretation. Done by a Native American who moved the crowd to chant USA, USA with no ongoing war , just moved by her performance which was fabulous and has replaced Whitney’s rendition imo ,{albeit it was still supporting the USA at a time of war}. Just my opinion , but thats how you show pride in your country with no political agenda. If that didn’t move you , maybe you are either very jaded or over medicated. The quality of competition in march madness has been really good, and the meaning to each player , some of whom will never become pros , leads to the exhibition of passion pro sports fails to reach at this point. Now foes are just buddies, who share commercials, may even be teammates the next season, plus they are all highly paid and they know there is always next year because there is no eligibility limit other than your teams needs / cap limits. However, there are 31 other chances to catch on. The NFL is a mans sport , and nothing can match the youthful exuberance that we all Lose with time and experience. I loved the nfl/bills so much in my 20’s that iwent to two superbowls. Great experiences i was so happy to attend; yet now it is such a corporate , highly over priced event that there is no longer any amount of money you could pay me to be treated as nothing more than a commodity by a multibillion dollar business who still begs for taxpayors monies while holding communities hostage threatening to move their franchises despite years of faithful support. That leads to the actual players we are supposed to be fans of, enjoy their unique talents. Some live up to that lofty expectation and i salute those who somehow retain their humility. But then we are exposed to many criminals, many with children by several “baby-mommas” as if some badge of honor, and of course , the narcissists who speak about teamwork but whose actions prove they are only about their personal gains and are really not about anything but their “ bag”. It’s just not as prevalent in college and they still play for each other. enjoying possibly their only chance to win a championship. It’s a business still, but not as in your face as ‘THE SHIELD” is. Also , basketball is played much the same as it was in the 70’s , other than held balls and the 3 point line. Try and keep up with pro football , and the myriad of changes makes it hard to grasp each year It’s still way too often decided by too many part time refs and waiting literally on minutes for replay to still come back with not enough evidence or even frankly still wrong. Basketball doesn’t suffer from all the delays between plays , reviews, innumerable commercials . Rare doe it have Overhyped ,overextended halftimes. It’s still a faster paced game. And never tell me about so called football experts, its plethora of podcasters that talk like they know more than regular fans, or all the draftniks who spend hours evaluation tons of mock drafts.. they are rarely even close and do all that wasted “film time” , as only 4-5 0f drafted players from each time will even see plating time. Yeah tell me experts have validity when almost 0 0f them predicted Diggs being traded. Actually criticizing any other opinion sarcastically “because there was no way with that cap hit”! It’s just proof , experts are no more than guessing amateurs and spending money on their “opinions” is just akin to scams. If you can’t predict a major trade like Diggs , how far off must your other advice be ? But my main point still comes down to which event do you enjoy more? The SB , with its multimillion dollar athletes who will do the same all over again next year , with little on the line for them personally as most have already made their fortunes , or the excitement of march madness who didn’t have 2 anthems sung to please its corporate crowd., and is still the same sport we basically all have played. I love the BILLS , but i really don’t care about the offseason that much. Because time after time , the season isn’t won until it actually counts. The SB is good, most time anti climatic, but march madness and the final 4 is still ascending. Give me a BILLS win and i might feel different,,,,but 55 years is a lot to ask! Still, a great anthem tonight! Great game tonight!
  2. Just some random thoughts but also based on being a fan since ‘63 1) this proves you have a small window og given talent / leadership to be a viable sb contender. This staff squandered having Allen, Diggs, poyer, Hyde,Morse ,Edmund’s,white, shady . Kyle Willian’s ,,Milano, as a core group by bungling leads in games they easily should have won. Diggs was added to be the final piece , so it’s understandable his frustration grew as kc’s Talents under Reid kept thriving. 2) this was a rigid process , defensively predominately oriented , drafted by beane as directed by mcd , despite heving a uniquely talrnted qb, who at one point was prohibited from running , contributing to a 6-6 record /hole. And firing og the oc and creating more tornoile. O line coaches Also were turned over 2x with teller let go and positions switched around. More unrest. Feliciono gone w more turmoil. In addition . Two barely avg backs with motor / moss supposed to be adequate but neither reached. Their potential under changing oc’s or line coaches as both did better w other teams , but neither were worthy of 3rd round picks. 3) terrible communication , poor delegation of dutities. Need i say more than 13 seconds,,,hail Murray , cam blowing the coverage in monnisota,,the kicker not knowing to Squibb kick,,,,the miscommunication between Frazier , the special teams coach etc resulting in mcd taking over d calls at points. It’s ridiculous to see in a pro staff. 4). Things go so bad on o , the oc is fired and a prior fired oc takes over. Suddenly Diggs seems less involved/interested as the team involves backs more,,,Diggs id running bubble screens. Separates less. , drip rate goes up. Kincaid involved more yet new contract Knox almost vanishes. Our two fin f/a’s are basically worthless. There is no identity to this offense. The once stable o line is broken apart w more gone ,,and our stable guard switched to center now trade our captain wide receiver and stable players with leadership like Morse and this team really doesn’t look like as the potential that we’re being told that it would. It looks like the same type of loss of talent that Jacksonville went through when they were building their new stadium with their PSL‘s as well and was just a holdover until they could fill the talent of the team up with draft choices it just seems like this could very well. Be a down season for the team and, given the record of this coaching staff and all the talent they had yet. All the failures that they experienced. I just don’t think it adds to any confidence that there’s going to be anything good coming up within the short future other than a new stadium coming about. 'There’s going to be a lot of new players on the team and also a lot of new coaches and so I think this is really gonna be a rebuilding year despite what everyone feels. That’s not always a bad thing as it happens with every team but from listening to McDermott talk, that’s not what he’s trying to sell. There’s just been too much experience and leadership lost on this team to expect it to be the same as it has been the past 2 to 3 years. It’s been seven years with McDermott and being in we have one AFC championship game to show for and I really think this team under this current coach and manager May reach their pinnacle. The old 90s teams that did so well had a lot of stability within them and that just doesn’t seem to be the case with this current regime. It’s great that they have a fantastic quarterback to build around with Josh but on the other hand, it almost seems like they’re wasting a great portion of his career and this current off-season Has really been almost a complete restructuring of the team and somewhat unexpected. I really think they’re setting them salsa for when the new stadium opens and unless Dermot pulls off some type of incredible year, I really think he might not be around for that time as good as he is, I just don’t think he has what it takes , leave the team to Lombardi. He’s a great guy, but I don’t think he’s a great Gameday coach and I think it’s time to start looking for someone who can maximize joshes unique talents. Just a few thoughts. Hope I’m wrong but on the other hand, something is wrong with this clubhouse and , I’m not sure there’s gonna be any transparency about what’s actually going on. Wishing for the best, but I think there’s just too many holes and too much youth going on and too much changing and turmoil again and the coaching staff and I don’t think they really have an identity and I’m not a big person of trust regarding Brady being able to bring out the best in the office We’ll see this is poor play, and production over the past two seasons, especially the end of the season I think is indicative of something and it may come down to rigidness of the process of the coach and I think a time this year will help sort this out. I just am a little pessimistic about the outcome of this year and really see it as a almost full rebuilding here.
  3. Yep , I would say that’s as well. The jags always give the bills issues and are above.500 against them I believe. Funny how bills homies are so ready to be critical of other teams receiving corps , yet we suffered watching a season with the two fa’s from the fins do essentially nothing, Knox has continued to be an enigma, our wr 1 falling of in productivity drastically during the second halves of the 2 preceding seasons, our great hands rb continuing to drop wide open passes and have fumble issues. Plus , guys w blinders on forget the game that Jax easily beat our bills last year as even the now released zay jones even caught a TD during that game. Just saying , having been a bills fan my whole life , but at the same time having been an original jags season ticket holder to support the community and Jax’s bid to stay an NFL site to enhance the cities financial development , I’ve had to watch the jags beat the bills in playoff games ( ending Kelly’s career etc) and beat the bills even as the jags had inferior talent and it’s been a sad experience too often over the years. Better watch what you wish for as the bills really are in no position to criticize any receiving corp given the WRs beane has supported or, better to say failed to support Josh with at least up until this point. Plus remember Gabe was here as Dorsey misused most players and had to be fired. All I am suggesting is pedersen is a good hc/oc (he does have a Lombardi the bills franchise lacks ) , and has proven he can outcoach McDermott head to head , so GABE MAY indeed have untapped potential. Time will tell and should only be judged going forward as the past means nothing now. Sadly, one of my fav BILLS , Morse , has also added in JAX , and will add a lot of intelligence and stability to bolster one of the jags weaknesses. Really loved Morse as a BILL; guy was well spoken , humble, great leader and was good for josh who i think will also miss Morse. Have to admit these moves make Jax a more likeable team to follow locally even tho they are no where close to my BILLS fandom; it at least shows the owner is finally trying to win and thats been hard to believe with all the prior terrible squads they have fielded in the past. Jax is a small town except geographically, and many football guys live in the very wealthy ponte Vedra beach area or go to the TPC at sawgrass or the LODGE beach club in ponte vedra. I don’t live in those really wealthy areas but just in a non gated part of ponte vedra since ‘85 , and there is only one TARGET ( hey there are really great stores in the open mall area , but for some reason Targets still draws many high income shoppers. I know this having seen them but also from talks with cvs pharmacists in target who have shared w me ) in the area that surprisingly draws lots of people from those gated areas. ( funny, i posted when i met and had a great 15 min visit in that target with then Milano fiancé , now wife, as while traveling thru the area she came up to me as i was wearing a bills hat !). So , here’s hoping i get a chance to possibly run into Morse or Gabe out shopping and get a chance to talk a little BILLS football with them! Hate that they are no longer BILLS , but not sad they are now part of the city / community! Anyhow , just saying bills fans should temper their criticism of GABE/morse/ Jax , until they see the actual product and be honest that right at this moment , our wr corp is a big question mark and who knows how good any bills wr is given the misuse by the past oc’s. I think a case could be made GABE could be more productive in the future than our prior MLB Edmunds will be as a bear going forward. Again , time will tell, but as a BILLS fan, not looking forward to playing Jax next year as we often play poorly against them and they have already added 5 significant new starters via free agency; GABE might thrive on the jags roster as pedersen might get more out of him.
  4. Read some raiders history. Start w a guy named guy and go from there to the polish bomber.
  5. Wow , at least his 3rd? It’s a terrible disease , and i believe we all make mistakes and deserve second chances. However, i also believe like any other non-terminal ( at least urgently non-terminal) illness , you have the ability to make choices and only you are responsible for the ultimate outcome when it comes to choosing to save your life or continuing to harm yourself and others. Fame and money are usually terrible in this situation and that appears to be adding fuel to this flame. All i would say now is this person shows no accountability or ability to learn from the past and hopefully he will be taken off the streets before he kill’s someone. Here’s hoping he has some judge who allows this creep to avoid temptation and provides him with a nice solitary cell to watch the Super Bowl from. This is no time for fame, celebrity, or money to be chosen over public safety. This guy, Mahomes or Maauto , has wasted his get out of jail freebies and i hope he never drives again and misses at least this performance by his son at this important time in Patricks life. It seems the consequences haven’t been steep enough yet ; let’s hope something can get thru to the guy. Go 49er’s; never thought i could dislike a team more than the compukes, but KC and Mahomes have doubled down and the entitlement is ridiculous. Thanks to all the BILLS players who basically underperformed and choked away another year where we are subjected to more KC BS! (Go bills)
  6. Probably roll over in my grave because I’ve followed them since ‘63, gone to two losing SB EFFORTS (27/28) , suffered every named loss like MSM/13 SECONDS/WIDE RIGHT X2! Now with the best QB in franchise history, we have a perpetually mistake prone / puckering HC who hasn’t managed 1 SB APPEARANCE ( while a qb said coach passed on has now attended 6 afc championships and his 5th SB, if my numbers are correct; you get the idea), coupled with a GM who has missed on the majority of his FA swings while many of his draft picks ( other than Allen / white /milano/ Oliver and perhaps Kincaid /shakir ) are either elsewhere or underperforming to a point that he has to keep bringing in FA’s like ford/lenny etc to just be practice squad fodder. He finally may have hit on a rb (great hands?) on his 3rd attempt while his prior two had more success elsewhere. His main saving grace, choosing ALLEN, is neutered by so far having surrounded him with a receiving corp known for one of the highest drop rates in the NFL and every year he promises tO “add speed” and we heard that same thing once again after a divisional playoff exit two years in a row on our home field. This loss was even more humiliating as all BILLS fans begged for Mahomes to finally come to Buffalo , and he left laughing with his celebrity entourage! 7 years of the process and promises! So 58 years of occasional great football, some great HOF players , and maybe a rising star. But mostly famously named losses and creative new ways to cause heartbreak for a great fan base worthy of the MAFIA name! Seems appropriate to once again talk about what you will do if they win a SB on GROUNDHOG DAY , because we should be good at fantasizing after 58 years! (Just counting years the SB was played). Should they shockingly win one while I’m alive, as like many vets, I’m much closer to the ending than the beginning, i will have a dirty martini while sitting in the same seat i watched wide right 1 happen while i watch highlights of the parade in BUFFALO and shed a few tears wishing i could be there ! If they win much later , i will request a sponge bath from the hottest nursing assistant in assisted living! If it happens later than that , will have my headstone engraved , His love for patients was only second to his patience for the BILLS. lol,,,hope they fool me and win one soon with its own moniker so people never forget.! Go bills! 0
  7. JUST like he caught all the prior deep balls? Did you forget two games where he and Josh “ were not on the same page”? Come on , that’s total denial of a huge issue regarding the lack of talent ,AND PRODUCTION, that plagued this wr crew all season. Shakir and Kincaid were the only consistent , reliable targets for josh this season. Every other receiver , Diggs , Knox, cook , sherfield , etc all had multiple drops and lacked consistent production , and Davis was the poster child for inconsistency going multiple games with 0 receptions. So to expect him to have produced now , when his peak was one game two years ago, is pure fantasy and not based on his current level of production. Could he have been better than sherfield ,,,maybe ,,,but there is no way you can say that with any certainty and i bet the front office will see it the same way when they let him walk. He is another motor, moss, boogie, Edmund’s type of player you can replace as we’ve easily seen , and is overrated compared to other teams receivers such as the packers younger wr corp. This team needs to quit holding on to mediocre talent while wasting a rare franchise QB’s prime years because we all know how rare it is to actually land that important piece in the draft.
  8. Eric Washington needs to be gone. This d line was terrible. Oliver had 0 pressures. Hasn’t happened since ‘21. No significant plays or sacks once again against a foe you know well. This all goes back to mcd and failed performances in big games. Kelce , who was running free at times, w two tds tonight and had never done that all season. How does that stuff happen? No defensive stops till we were behind and had given up 27 points. Throw in crazy fake punt, allowing an obviously injured punter to kick and hold , wasted time outs , bad penalties , kc running easily with no answer but Spags stopped cook w run blitzes. Outcoached , again. I could go on. It’s not about winning the afc east. Believe me as a fan since ‘63 , this is the best qb this franchise may ever have , yet we have not even appeared in a SINGLE Super Bowl. Also , the TEXANS reached the same level this year w a rookie qb and head coach; let that sink in. MCD and this scheme has reached its pinnacle ; it’s about winning a SB. Who cares if you change and don’t succeed, you at least tried to pursue something other than what is/ has been failing! . It’s because of mcd’s scheme and d line requirements that we have wasted d line picks ( boogie etc) and are in this cap mess with Von because the draft picks never produced. . That spills over into not paying enough attention to giving josh adequate receivers , like our two terrible Miami FA’S . It’s 7 years of butterfly effects now and a guy who cant get past Reid when it matters. Losing home playoff games is inexcusable. Its yet SIGNATURE LOSS under MCD ! KC appearing in 6 straight AFC title games; MCD luckily got into one. I don’t care about the 5 game streak to get in; it was the horrific losses to bad teams that got us in that situation in the first place. 7 years , it is what it is , a good but not great team that is wasting time now and wasting a once in a lifetime franchise qb’s presence. There are too many good coaches available ,like harbaugh, to just bury your head and stick with the status quo. The d line is just one obvious issue , we need to look at 7 years of results and move ahead accordingly.
  9. BUFFALO MAFIA /FANS. I was watching storm trackers all night on YouTube driving around buffalo , orchard park , Lackawanna , etc and the weather was truly horrific with white outs all day and crazy wind and drifts all night. Saw several people needing assistance to be pulled from ditches. As i watched shots of the stadium 3 -4 hours before kickoff , it still didn’t seem possible to fill that stadium. But you guys / bills mafia still did fill it and made home advantage a real deal. It was loud and gave the team juice at critical times. So kudos and a game ball to the mafia for keeping home field a real advantage. Amazing fans to brave those elements and it was a real joy to watch. You guys are as amazing as the dude , josh Allen , and best wishes , stay healthy, and GO BILLS!
  10. Great points. Man , bass has turned into a head case , kicking at under 82% , which is lowest of his career i think. Don’t want to be caught depending on him at this point. I would seriously be looking to bring someone in if possible if i was beane , and somehow bass would unfortunately slip and end up on IR for the remainder of this playoff drive. . He could have lost this game for us, who wants everyone’s hard work and win streak to be lost because a kicker is slumping ? I would be looking, with all the injuries , margin of victory seems to be thinning. Make a move beane , bass has not been dependable most of the year. It’s a trend and not just a bad game. Let’s not chance or waste another year of josh’s excellence!
  11. Only thing fake is your perception! Maybe most sour grapes post in history. Why tho; doesn’t appear you are a Steelers fan looking at your icon / colors? Didn’t you watch te broadcast , as they reviewed and specifically pointed out Allen’s great juke , and then he slid and WAS DOWN and steeler chose to then dive at him. This must be troll stuff as these call weren’t even close. I see you didn’t mention the bs call that robbed us from the fumble recovery , which was never close to OOB. Hmm, very selective about your referee outrages. Leads me to add your honesty along with perception and rules knowledge as the real fake issues here. Hey , I’m originally from Steubenville , Ohio , 1/2 hour from Pittsburgh , and my mom was up there in st clairsville cheering for her Steelers tonight at age 97, so i feel for Yinz! Injuries really suck and we both got decimated. Better luck next year, maybe don’t treat preseason so seriously in 2024!
  12. Von did touch rudolf once tonight , punched him but qb rolled off. Dl was really ineffective except early ball batting. Von did spin once so maybe he will keep improving but not holding my breath. D is in big trouble with 2 staring lbs out against an upcoming great qb. Have to win shootout. Bad time for bass to be having his worst season also at less than 82% on fg. Hard to win close games when cant depend on kicking game. He cost us 13 points tonight , 6 off misses , 7 giving short field off block. Thats just terrible. Need to do intensive work w him this week. All going to be on offenses shoulders but at least shakir/ Kincaid stepping up. Knox was ok but had another drive killing drop. Team just keeps winning tho !
  13. Bass is a problem going forward. Hard to trust him this year. Losing Bernard is devastating. Mahomes is lucky to get us once more less than fully healthy. Game will once again be in josh’s and o ‘s hands.
  14. Not so sure , see their performance and blowout loss in the moved titans game during covid. Never know what results you will get with mcd.
  15. I just wonder what effect this will have on the players who are creatures of habit. Remember how the delays in playing the titans during the epidemic resulted in a very flat , detached team getting blown out. Not a huge amount of confidence in mcd’s history of adapting the team to change , outside of the game played in Detroit, and that was a tight squeaker. Time will tell. Hard to believe they would allow the fins /kc game with wind chill predicted at minus 26 or below. That seems just as hazardous to fans/ players/ staff etc and the stadium will unlikely be filled. Very disjointed approach by the nfl and very subjective decision making regarding going ahead with individual games. It will carry over to the next week , especially if more injuries come into play and for the bills the likely opponent will already be a better team than who they play this week. Things just cant go smoothly with this team. It definitely adds another wrinkle to the mix.
  16. I don’t see this as anything but advantage Pittsburgh. They have a power running back , and they come in with running the ball at a very high percentage of their snaps. Cook is a finesse back and he has not been overly impressive since the cowboys game. Johnson has more power but i am not sure he has cleared the concussion protocol. That could leave us with Murray ( admitting he has slowed down or been less productive) or Lenny who also has not looked very impressive. Cook was also getting hit behind the line last week. The O line has struggled against pittsburghs interior lineman in the past. Heywrd has been a big problem. Torrance showed his inexperience, getting blown by and resulting in a fumble by josh last week. In addition our LT , who punches and needs his hands , has a healing large laceration in his palm area and will probably still need to be protectively wrapped which could alter his effectiveness. Other than scrambles by josh , the run game was not overly impressive. Our scores last week were on special teams, a fluke deflection, and one good pass out to Knox in the flat. If you didn’t see Kurt warners breakdown, Josh is rushing thru his reads and missing many easy throws while waiting for harder throws to develop. . While josh has a strong arm , how can you feel good with gusty winds up to possibly 40-50-60 mph that can affect the ball AFTER it leaves Allen’s hands? Plus all these guys have shown a propensity for drops in good conditions; do you expect them to be more sure handed with a cold, hard ball being moved by gusts? This team has lost some games in that type of weather and it really is playing right into perhaps the only scenario that would allow Pittsburgh to keep it close. There’s just no way this is a favorable situation for a bills team that has ball security / turnover issues. Cook has had fumbling issues and recently dropped two certain TD passes in perfect weather conditions, so are you saying he will be better in cold , gusty conditions? Sorry , but i cant logically agree with that. I still think the bills should win , but this weather has complicated the game for the Bills. . In addition, all the injured players who are missing practice are a concern, plus there are additional players who are ill. Dodson , Davis , Douglas, rapp are all possibly out. Davis being out is possibly the easiest to replace, but those players out on d are an issue that might come into play. It’s also concerning that we had no adjustments ( until late) for the zero blitzes; again see Kurt warners piece about our lack of hot reads or quick answers for josh. Too many times we were waiting on long developing routes to happen and poor weather is not going to make those routes suddenly easier to connect on. Brady needs to get across to josh about taking what is designed and getting the ball out early, and Brady also needs to be better at getting receivers to break off routes and recognize blitzes. Again , the bills are better and should win , but we have seen this o struggle to score in games where they appear to be the better team. They only put up 7 in 3 quarters last week against a depleted defense , so anything like gusty , cold weather is not going to make it easier against a better d who is coached by a better coach like tomlin. If josh plays well, stops the terrible dumb turnovers, it should be a W, but ball security could be a bigger issue due to the weather , and Pittsburgh is not as dependent on putting the ball in the air. . Bad weather narrows the talent gap between teams and i cant see this as a benefit to the favorite Bills as you are stating. Let’s hope they learned something from their mistakes last week that resulted in a come from behind , 7 point margin and are prepared schematically for the poor weather.
  17. Thanks for posting this, it really had me grinning ear to ear ! I grew up 1 hour from Pittsburgh , across the border in Ohio. WDVE was the rock station i listened too all the time and played classic rock. They sponsored all the fantastic concerts i went to at Three rivers and the Civic auditorium. Rock was in its prime in the mid/late 70’s and i saw frampton, Springsteen , Fleetwood Mac, zztop, Black Sabbath, Bachman turner overdrive, yes, skynerd, nugent, blue oyster cult. , the eagles, Aerosmith, among others and WDVE was usually the sponsor. In fact i have a sweatshirt with that WDVE logo hanging in my closet ; just never get a chance to wear sweatshirts here in Florida tho! The best lineup i remember was a show with Frampton as the main act , with Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles warming up for him during his COMES ALIVE tour with that famous album . I drove up there from Ohio with my best friend and a car load of some of the hottest chicks in my class ( funny , they were all good friends of mine who interestingly all became nurses, but they were out of my league at that time from a dating perspective because they preferred older college guys!). I had a big 4 door Chrysler at the time, and i worked for a coal mine and on a surveying crew with my dad in the summers so i had enough money for gas to be able to get us all to Pittsburgh and back. The girls were dying to see the eagles with Glenn Frey and frampton of course , but i was fortunate to see STEVIE NICKS who was in her prime in ‘76 ! It was an unforgettable time and maybe the best era of rock, with great stadium filled concerts. . It was a time with lots of partying and there was a fair amount of recreational drug use, and the hottest girl who rode with me was partying a little too much ( hey, she wasn’t driving so she felt free to enjoy herself ) and she happened to get a little sick while the Eagles were playing. I remember being impressed because we had managed to get close to the stage on the field at three rivers , and rather than lose our place trying to get to a bathroom,, she managed to throw up completely in two red plastic solo cups without spilling a drop! How does someone have that type of accuracy throwing up while s##t faced ?? She got her second wind and never missed a beat of the concert! Pretty impressive stuff! . I remember that day like it was yesterday, over 40 years later , amazing concert highlighted by her discretely barfing into those two cups and then she kept on rockin! DO YOU, YOU , FEEL LIKE WE DO!? LOL. Yinz all would have loved being there enjoying the classic rock and the sexy chicks all dressed in 70’s style bell bottoms and halter tops ! Thank you WDVE for all the memories and great concerts during the best years of rock! It’s hard to believe, but the best show WDVE sponsored that i saw in the civic auditorium/arena , was in late 75 /early ‘76 , and was KISS , who had just hitting it big with their kiss alive double album. That , while not so good musically , was by far the best live show i can remember and just really a one of a kind experience. It was in the winter, and i rode up with my best friend and when we came out of the show a blizzard had hit. Pittsburgh has some crazy roads / bridges , and it was snowing so badly that visibility was terrible. We took one wrong turn and drove over an hour in the wrong direction before realizing it and we never made it home until early morning the day after the show. We had managed to get lost in the hills around Pittsburgh and ended up stopping at a local dive bar to get directions. It was a little scary going in ( we had big platform shoes on / long trench coats and KISS shirts on, long hair , and we went into this bar filled with what looked to be mostly steel workers!) but after we ordered a couple of shots things were cool and we waited till the blizzard calmed before heading back in the right direction to eastern Ohio. Just an unforgettable time ,as it was an amazing time for huge stadium rock concerts and if any of YINZ are old enough to have been in high school or college back then, you know what I mean ! Anyhow , it’s winter now with snow approaching up there and seeing the WDVE logo reminded me of a time when i would go home from college for Christmas , and i was usually lucky enough to attend some concerts who were promoted by WDVE. I was a BILLS fan even then , with most of my friends being diehard Steelers fans in the days of the steel curtain and Bradshaw. Even my mom is a Steelers fan , so this is a game with a lot of memories associated with them playing each other that goes back a long way for me! The weather is going to keep the Steelers in this game, and it’s going to be low scoring as Vegas has it as their lowest o/u of the wildcard weekend. Josh needs to listen to Kurt warner , take what the designed play offers , and without turnovers we should beat the YINZERS, and keep the dream alive. Go BILLS, and once again thanks for stoking my memories regarding WDVE!
  18. Comes full circle for jags after they got that jump on bills by having extra week in London! Bills finally get justice! Now take !@#$ advantage of this nice or you may never get this.type of opportunity again, esp after blowing 13 sec game.
  19. Epic collapse by Jax over last few games , capped off by this failure. Well, bills can play freely now
  20. I get it. I had season tix at the jags back then , even as a lifelong BILLS fan. If the BILLS had won that game ( music city miracle) , they were coming to JAX and i am certain with that D, they would have beat the jags to go to the SB. So we have the lead , i am watching at home in the exact same position in front of my tv that i watched wide right , and the comeback happen from , and I have a history og going to SB 27/28 LIVE BECAUSE i knew we had to win at least one in my lifetime! IF WE WIN, i have tix in row 8, 32 yd line , right BEHIND THE BILls bench here in Jax stadium ! You can imagine my disbelief, my heartbreak , watching that happen. In a few seconds my fandom and sports hobby world is forever changed for the bad , once again at the hands of my beloved BILLS! You have to have experienced it, been thru it to totally appreciate that sickening feeling as wycheck throws the pass and DYSON, i believe, takes it with a convoy to the end zone to beat a much better BILLS TEAM. Rob Johnson had come thru over FLUTIE; WADE was coaching so well, the d was playing great , the team peaking for a SB in 1999/2000 i believe to be the year. Then it all disappeared. Plus , it was getting very expensive for the two club seat season tix i had since even before the inaugural season of the jags , and i had decided this was to be my final year to keep paying so much to support the jags ! After all, it was just interfering with me watching the bills live on TV and despite living in Jax, i could never really be a jags fan as i had started following the bills in 1963! So it happens. The following week i went to the playoff game here in Jax as my BILLS WATCHED in BUFFALO , where the titans led by McNair , came in and thrashed the jags to go to the SB! There i was , behind the TITANS bench in Jax, now filled by many titan fans who obviously paid huge bucks to travel and come to Jax . The titans went to the SB, PLAYED THE RAMS , and lost as they were tackled a yard short of the end zone. It should have been the BILLS playing in that SB, and i think that D would have shut down whoever they played and I really believe in my heart, we would have gotten that elusive SB! Yet , ITS 24 years later , and here we are. We still have not gotten that SB; And we were one off side , one call away from seeing A SIMILAR VERSION of THAT THROWBACK PLAY work against us and probably end this years playoff hopes. You have To have been in that time to fully appreciate the context of forever seeing that play shown over, and over, and over. Imagine that play but now with KELCE/ TALOR SWIFT/ MAHOMES/ KC/ AND RAMPANT PERVASIVE SOCIAL MEDIA being present to glorify it in light of all the concerns / questions about mcds coaching and in light of the article and all things surrounding the bye week! Seriously , i would have quit watching football this season, and being 66 years old, i might have considered not watching the BILLS much more as i have been thru and experienced all the SB’S and all the classic , horrific , stressful, memorable ways to lose. Thank GOD for that one call ! LOL! So , i get your respect for wycheck. I still feel the same as it was a great play, and it saddens me to hear about his terrible demise. If someone is critical of you mentioning the MCM, putting it to rest , they don’t understand. You honor his memory by remembering his name and his association with it and BILLS HISTORY. He will continue to always be remembered for that play and by all accounts for being a good person as well. There is no way i would believe you meant any disrespect. I was there in spirit with you during that time. Thank GOD there was not a second version today ; Bills fans of this generation don’t deserve to experience that type of emotional pain. For once, the ball and flags fell the right way, and we still have a shot at that elusive SUPERBOWL. Merry CHRISTMAS BILLS MAFIA!
  21. Wow, if not for that penalty , its was throwback 2. Holiday throwback. Penalty saved mcd from infamy. Wouldn’t wish that on anyone . Esp us fans with kelce / swift replays forever. Ghost of Christmas past,,,throwback past…..i almost saw my life flash in front of my eyes!
  22. Not true. He DID TOTALLY RUPTURE IT AND THE REVERBERATION OF IT SNAPPING IS VISIBLE IN HIS CALF ON Film. The company that developed the speed bridge suturing technique, which anchors up the length of the Achilles, crosses above the tear , then anchors back into the calcaneus, provides enhanced tensile strength across the tear. THEIR PROTOCOL CALLS FOR SPORT SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES at 12 weeks. He is around day 80 , so he is just slightly ahead of expected rehab. Also , because it was his left Achilles , it’s NOT HIS PUSH OFF FOOT, so there s much less stress to the Achilles while passing. Nothing is being oversold as he is just slightly ahead of their expected timeframe for return to sports. He does have a slightly increased risk of “creep”. Where the tendon can slowly elongate, but because its not his push off foot , and he is much less mobile than other positions , any loss of power, dorsiflexion and plantar flexion of that foot may never show up as a noticeable loss of power or change for him. He has vowed a return to play regardless of the jets record or playoff possibilities. He is a fully informed , highly conditioned athlete, who has had to be told and sign a consent form related to all risk /benefit ratios. Is there a possibility he tears it again by returning sooner than expected , yes there is but it’s his choice. He is back practicing which is CONSISTENT WITH THE PLANNED REHAB FOR THIS SURGERY! This is not a joke, fluke , or overhyped result so far. It is not a brand new technique either and has a successful history in med literature reported in prior years. There are good explanations by physicians available on YouTube by sports medicine drs if you chose to take time to view their presentations. He is just on track from a rehab standpoint. His true effectiveness is yet to be proven, but it was a LEGIT RUPTURE AND SPEED BRIDGE REPAIR. Medical techniques are always advancing, yet results depend on many factors including patients age, condition, access to care and rehab, and existing conditions. Personally , i have never been a fan of his arrogance and narcissism , but my opinion of him has nothing to do with the medical facts concerning his Achilles rupture, repair, and surgical technique used. Again, its not a huge , heroic return , but so far a story still in progress.
  23. Some word association: mandates; cancel culture ; sheeple; shaming; judging; myths; straw man argument;biased;rose colored glasses;homer; dark tetrad; hypocritical. Just had some words come to mind after reading “ I’M NOT CALLING OUT THE CRITICAL OR HYPERCRTICAL FANS”. HMMM, REALLY? Fans are who ever they chose to be regarding a team or sport. If only your criteria are THE CRITERIA TO BE A FAN, there are some great vacation spots to consider ; North KOREA, CHINA, Russia ; and there are so many more like them , great places filled with great fans of their great leaders who are masters in thought control and they are all about freedom of choosing your lifestyle and happiness! You are probably the GREATEST BILLS FAN EVER, so when the off season comes around , take a well deserved break and take in some cultures that ,,,well,,somehow make me feel you might enjoy so much you might stay awhile after explaining how to be the loyalist fan ever! But at least you weren’t being critical and that’s really being an open minded fan. ( last word association; oxymoron). It is a great thing to be the perfect fan because that determines so much about how your team plays ! Hmm,,,5-5 must mean,,,,lol.
