  1. Past hour
  2. Dugger pulled a Rapp and knocked Slay out of the Chargers game. In concussion protocol. It is only a practice squad addition I believe so maybe it won’t turn into anything. Precaution incase he can’t play?
  3. If I was moving on (I'm not there yet but open to the idea that I might be in January) then for coach Klint Kubiak and I have no idea on GM. I'd honestly hire the coach and let them pick their GM. When I look across the NFL the last 15 years that model has worked a lot: Carroll chose Schneider; Reid chose Dorsey and then Veach; Shanahan chose Lynch; McDermott chose Beane. I think synergy in that relationship really matters and unless you have an elite GM in situ where you make the coach the interchangeable part I'd start with the coach then go from there.
  4. I’m a supporter of replacing McDermott for two reasons: • I don’t like his defensive philosophy; I don’t feel it has the potential to be a strong enough force. It doesn’t dictate terms to the offense, it relies on the offense to make mistakes. • I feel like our best chance to win a superbowl, with Josh, is to get the benefit of the unknown that comes with a new coach and go on a heater for a season. I don’t think McDermott is going anywhere. I hope continues to grow and learn. Ideally, he would cede control of the defense to qualified coordinator.
  5. Are you saying that only alcoholics would be Bills or Sabres fans or that being a Bills or Sabres fan will make you an alcoholic? Truthfully, either way you’re not wrong
  6. The mood will lighten as soon as DC Tom evaluates your idea. 🤨
  7. Does anyone remember tre White's interview with the Ravens where he was talking about going from different culture to different culture to baltimore? In Buffalo they let you be yourself and everybody was really family focused while in Los Angeles the Rams were an organized machine business. It was just what they did, and it doesn't make either one right. But I just wish the bills right now we're a little more business in a lot less personality.
  8. weird move. Aren’t they totally stacked at CB already?
  9. First a GM who has been successfully evaluating college talent. This means an assistant GM who has been part of a successful organization. Second is an offensive HC. I still say a guy well versed in the WCO. Young,Favre, Rogers,Mahomes etal have put up big numbers and won MVP's in that system so it still works.
  10. I think that's over selling it a bit. There's two throws which I think you are referring to, one along the left sideline where Allen threw it outside when it appeared that it should have been placed inside, and one along the right sideline that was underthrown (although Coleman could have still caught it off the tip). Here they are in order: The first one of those is a low percentage play from any QB especially since the defender was practically riding Coleman's back downfield. Would have had to be an absolutely perfect throw 45 air yards downfield. Nice release from Coleman but he stumbles out of it and doesn't have vertical speed so there is no clean separation. You'd like to see better separation to make it an easier throw or maybe he draws DPI when the CB catches up. The second one, I don't think that throw is even on the menu for most QBs. Looks like basic tampa 2. The throw ends up almost like hitting a honey hole shot except 35 air yards downfield which is obviously not typical. Because Coleman is jogging on his route Allen has to rip it in there to beat the buzzing flat defender which means he can't get air underneath it which makes it more challenging to have perfect ball placement. So yes Allen has the arm strength to theoretically hit this throw but that isn't a point in Coleman's favor. And it's not like he did anything special to separate here, he's just running (or, more aptly, jogging) behind the flat defender in tampa 2. If Allen had hit both of these miraculos throws that would have been more akin to Gabe Davis' "breakout performance" against KC than a legit star turn from Coleman IMO. Especially given how poor he looked on almost every other rep throughout the game.
  11. Burns has been a stud. Schoen did make that trade. Apparently, Carter’s pass rush win rate has been off the charts. He’s just not getting sacks. He’s the betting favorite as DROY.
  12. Do you think that the city/ weather plays a part in us getting better candidates? Real questions, because I've heard that before. Many of these HCs are married and their wives want to be in cities that have more going on, better weather and better housing situations. McVay I'm sure loves LA and wouldn't leave unless we offered a ridiculous amount of money, as well as draft picks that we cannot afford to lose unless its for a generational player. I personally would offer Minnesota 2 first ans a 2026 Second for Jefferson at this point. Gotta go all in while Josh is still great.
  13. To be fair they got him in a trade.
  14. Schoen and this is where it gets tough. Probably Daboll, and I recognize the insanity of taking the guys the Giants fired. But I don’t know that I’d swap out both GM and coach. If it’s one or the other, then it’s easy. Beane is gone. He fell in love with his guys and did a lot of overpaying and frankly missed too much. This years WR room did it for me.
  15. the one panther we didn't sign!!
  16. Yes they would. Playoffs is a new season, and KC's team is full of killers. Bad weather part of the season starts now, and it remains to be seen whether this NE team can play in the cold and lousy weather. That's also why I don't buy the Colts just yet. Bills have the best cold weather/bad weather QB in the AFC, and perhaps the league.
  17. Ironically the great pass rush supplied by former Panther Brian Burns not top 3 pick Abdul Carter.
  18. Worth saying on Beane I suspect (though don't know) he leans more on McDermott now than he ever did when Schoen was here. I know there are people convinced McDermott ran every draft like a puppet master but that simply isn't true. He wasn't even the 2nd most important person in the room when the Beane - Schoen axis was together. Now he most likely is. Because from what I am told Beane is just like that, relationships are big for him.
  19. I am starting to think the Bills would draft a guy in a wheelchair if his personal record showed he was an Eagle Scout growing up.
  20. honestly, this is scheme fit and being fragile vs being a guy. when you watch nfl shows featuring players ( i like to hear shady mcoy and akib talib talk. they have an urban street take on everything, but they worked really hard as nfl players, won championships, and are unfailingly honest) they talk about the guys, the dudes, the dogs. tremain isn't a stud football player, but he's a total stud athlete playing football. he was over paid by chicago, and is now earning all of his contract. if you see who we extended, its taron johnson, milano, bernard (horrible horrible contract, he's just a scheme fit barely above replacement nfl guy), knox. all four guys are paid, all four guys are not impact players at their position and are constantly hurt. Taron was good before, but he's a tiny cb playing SLB on like 30% of our snaps, he just can't last. at the next level, you have ed oliver and dq jones. when healthy both of those guys are more than worth their contracts, but they are never healthy. our latest other re signs were groot (people poop on him, but i'll take him at his contract all day every day, he's a trooper and a plus player), shakir (honestly over paid, he's a scheme fit guy and does things lots of other nfl guys can do, not a huge contract at least) and benford (was a stud for a couple years, but this is the third year in a row he's missed games where we needed him and lost with him out, and the prior two were in the fricking chip games). even tho i love him, you might throw hoyt in there too cuz he got so badly hurt. that's just too much money wrapped up in scheme fit not uber talented guys who most of all are always hurt. the upside is of course, we can let jones, johnson, milano, not bernard (too new contract) or shakir or benford (i think he can come back and be a stud again, i hope at least) go without any real impact. knox, bass, samuel can all go too and frankly we won't really notice them too much. i think we push dead cap forward as the cap grows since we still have some core guys, maybe keep bosa, keep aj if he's cheap again, and fill in holes in the draft and trade like we shoulda for a guy like waddle. some injury luck and like 3 position upgrades and we are a monster.
  21. I am higher than most on Knox. I think he has a place on this team. We've seen a couple of guys take pay cuts over the years in Miller/Milano. I'd like to extend Knox at a much more fair value.
  22. For me it's Shoen and Gruden and for all of yous still calling him Chucky, take the time to watch his game match up you tube videos. He leaves no stone un turned and he doesn't talk crap. He's pure x and o. BTW our drafting went to hell when Shoen left. He's done good so far in ny
  23. Pats will drop the Jets game. Divisional matchup on Thursday Night Football with a young QB is a recipe for sicko football.
  24. Everyone keeps forgetting about the Ravens. That team is going to storm back into the picture over the next few weeks. Yes, I believe the Chiefs have a great shot at going to the Super Bowl again... even as a Wild Card. The Colts, Patriots and Broncos are all paper tigers at the top of their divisions. Will finish with great records, and get eliminated early. No, I don't think we make the playoffs.
