Players traded by Buffalo have been huge parts of teams that won 4 of the last 7 Stanley Cups (I don’t count Bogosian as a big part of Tampa’s Cup). If STL doesn’t trade for ROR they don’t win the Cup in 2019 (ROR won the conn smythe that year). Vegas likely doesn’t win the cup without Eichel (Conn smythe runner up in 2023), and Reinhart has been a key part of Florida’s back to back Cups. Brandon Montour was also a big part of Florida’s first cup win last year. Has any other single NHL team contributed more to the success of other teams in the league than Buffalo? It feels like the Sabres are just a developmental feeder team for real NHL clubs. 😢

After the Bills playoff win I felt sorry for the Ravens and their fans. For about 5 minutes. Then I thought of how we've had our share of heartbreaking losses so better them than us. But a week later most of us felt the Bills left the victory on the field too. Just like Baltimore the week before. So we all got to feel that way one more time. I expect we won't hear any Bills player saying they're looking for revenge against the Chiefs. Just that they've got to come out and play better. I don't think its the smartest thing going into week 1 to say your out for revenge. Our any game for that matter. I suspect the addition of more hurt feelings resulting from the MVP vote has something to do with this too. But the voters here made the correct choice. It's an award based on value, not statistics.

I like the very tough early test. Even tho we've been bounced vs KC in the post season so much, I think our worst match ups are cinci and Baltimore (you can throw in Philly, the only team Allen has never beaten). We have the suspensions and whatever injuries, but this season will come down to our new look defense. Good test out the gate!

Chubby side of average. Big boned+ (there’s crude joke in here for people of my generation, but likely not for the enlightened class). Long in the waist. Interestingly, though, after my recent physical, I used the “real age” calculator on my health insurance website and my levels suggest I’m 7 or 8 years younger than my actual age. Ok, it was 5 years but still, I’m not actually even a boomer, maybe! Oh, one small course correct—the lawn thing. We (all of us, obviously) typically become angry only when it’s “kids” on the lawn, not fully developed folks presumably not too too far off from middle age. Typically for the latter, it’s some version of physical/emotional impairment, substance abuse etc that leads them to violate the norms of civilized society—better to just contact local law enforcement and keep the peace. There is some tolerance here if the offender is smoking hot based on modern societal standards of course, but that happens rarely, I think.

The lad (Peter Auty) who sang Walking in the Air (which is actually flying but that's another discussion) in the short cartoon film wasn't the same lad who sang when the song was released as a single after the movie was released. Aled Jones got to number 5 in 1985 with the song. So the first time the song was covered and released as a single it was a hit. The Snowman was first shown on TV when I was 2 and I still watch it at least once every Christmas.
