To the bolded.. ive heard that a million times and nothing gets done... That being said... It is interesting time for him to do what he is doing right now.. My gut is that Cook's agent gave a final offer.. so in this case you may be right.

Agree...nothing you can do...injuries happen....shut him down for a month. Get that ankle treatment & rest and next man up. Time for players like Coleman and Moore to step up. - Today

I think we actually end up getting a long term deal done. Reports are coming out from multiple sources that both camps are close. I'd be happy getting Cook signed to a 3 year $45m extension if they can get it done. 4 years at $60 I'm more ehhhh about. This has been argued about already, but I'd still view a 3 year at $45m extension as simply the 4 year $50m ($12.5m AAV) contract that it would actually be. Even a 4 year at 60 contract would really just be basically a $13.5 AAV contract that would almost certainly have outs built into year 2 or year 3. If the holdup at this point is a Parsons trade I'm all for it as long as it's not more than 1 first thrown in with Cook and possibly Epenesa.

Yankees lose the Rangers series, Seattle wins theirs against the White Sox, Yanks are 4th in the WC race. Oh, and the Blue Jays are in Colorado. Come Thursday Boone could definitely be whistling by the graveyard.

I somehow feel just the opposite. If the parties are getting close, like a break thru on the main points of the contract (usually the guaranteed money), I imagine it would be a more cordial response from Cook. As a matter of fact, I don't remember thruout the league where a contract is getting close while in camp, a player suddenly stopped attending practices (even just for no contact stretch, warming up stuff) - and in Cook's case, not even wearing the Bills gear (T sheet, cap, etc.) on the sideline. What exactly happened in the last 24 hours (maybe 48 since no practice Saturday) between Cook's camp and Beane?

lol… I never said we were winning the salary cap game, I said I don’t want the priority of the GM to be future salary cap ramifications while Josh Allen is on the roster. I understand your view, I just disagree with it, no big deal.

Far greater chance it doesn’t matter. But sure, for week 1, it’s a big game. -
You speak as if we're already winning the "salary cap award of the year". As it is, we're having to budget shop. You want a DK Metcalf or Terry McLaurin? Best we can do is Joshua Palmer and Elijah Moore. You want us to swing for the fences on a DE that's on the market? Best we can do is Joey Bosa. Want to go get a stud CB? Best we can do is Tre White, Dane Jackson, and Draft Picks. Think DaQuan Jones is toast? All good, we'll get a 1T in Round 4. And through all of that and the economy moves to mid-tier moves, we're dead last in the league in Salary Cap - sitting at -750k. Next year, we sit at -2.93 million with at least 17 players who will make this roster needing to be re-signed or replaced. Including 4 of our to be rostered Offensive Lineman, 2 of which starters. We aren't remotely close to winning in the salary cap game right now. Haven't been in a good many years. We're in rough, rough shape. I don't believe the kind of contract that Micah Parsons will demand is feasible. And if it is, the amount of players in the coming years we'd have no choice to let walk would be staggering. Everyone likes to point to the Rams. It's no guarantee that going "all in" like the Rams did will guarantee the same result. And if you do that and not get to the promised land, we're putting Josh in even more hell for years to come and wasting more of his years.

I definitely remember Roseland. That rickety roller coaster and bumper cars with sparks. Good times! -
Funny but not really... your eyesight isn't something you want to play games with. Figure out a way if you really need it done...

We are now 5 days away from the Giants pre-season game. I am sitting here with a fridge full of grilling leftovers from Saturday and Sunday -- Whole Un-split Asian Style Chicken Wings, Fresh Herb & Wine Chicken Thighs, Meaty Pork Back Ribs Sauced in Homemade BBQ Sauce and Korean BBQ Sliced Pork Loin -- all were marinated 2-3 days in advance in different marinates and to complete the trilogy of excess today I BBQ on the Big Green Egg the marinated in Worcester Sauce, Freshly Ground Green Peppercorn and Steak Spice Beef Short Ribs and Skinless Chicken Drumsticks in a TexMex marinated since Friday. I will no doubt freeze some since the Wife and Daughter have successfully synchronized their periods such that they are both suffering in such an expressive dramatic fashion that I feel like Jesus visiting a Monthly Menstrual Leper Colony thus they ate very little all weekend. Nonetheless, I have food for the whole week leading up to the game. I took delivery on Friday of a new outdoor deep fryer that hooks up a 20 lb propane tank I never use stored in the barn and I think all I am going to for the game is test that bad boy out for the first time with some traditional Buffalo Style Chicken Wings with celery, carrots and Blue Cheese Dip.

Kill switch, deadman cable staying grounded to coil OR grounded on a piece of metal somewhere... Bypass that ***** -er is the first thing. Just say safe and don't have a heart attack while mowing. LoL... That will give you hit and miss starts, frustrating the way they design some mowers, etc... I can't kill my mower after 20 years, a Honda... Which I think those basstards stopped making gas mowers in US. I'd squeeze together the kill lever high on engine with a cable tie, one easy way to stop it was to choke it from getting air by air cleaner... lol

I had both eyes done last year... they inserted a lens in each eye so I have 20/20 vision but I do need readers sometimes for stuff up close. Had no out of pocket charges so that was great. I just use the cheapo readers from dollar tree, under $2 a pop.. but I figured out quickly that it's best to have like 5 pairs of them so there is always one there no matter what room/vehicle I'm in. I don't really use them that much though. I never did ask if I can open my eyes under water in a pool, but that scenario hasn't come up yet. It's worth it, even if you have to dig into that massive 401K account and pay the penalty.

Training Camp News - Around the League version
Rocky Landing replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Dolphins are better with Tua than they are with whomever is their backup. That's true of every team in the league. So, Tua's better than... Skyler Thompson. So what? But, ten times better? No, I don't think that's accurate. I looked it up. Tua's career win percentage is 64%. The Dolphins win percentage over that time without Tua was 35%. That's less than 2x better with Tua. Even that might sound like a lot, but name a team in the NFL that doesn't suffer when their starting QB goes down? Personally, I think Tua is very good at certain things-- accuracy, fast release, timing throws; and abysmal at other things-- extending plays, operating under pressure, working out of the pocket, and yes, staying on the field. But none of this has much to do with the perceived culture problem in Miami. I haven't heard anybody talking up Tua's leadership abilities, and I haven't heard any description of Miami's poor practice habits, or lack of accountability, or lack of respect towards McDaniel only occurring when Tua was injured. And he sure as hell didn't look to be inspiring his team in that last playoff loss to KC. They played like they had their bus idling in the parking lot.
