  1. Past hour
  2. But after the 1st preseason game, should we trade Josh for 2112 1st round picks?
  3. True so hate the media. That's not Damar's fault and it really doesn't make Damar a whipping boy, just a victim of terrible media.
  4. I think some people are finally realizing that the path to a major defensive improvement is far from a given. Our secondary even when healthy is in rough shape if Max doesn’t contribute in a big way this year. God help us if Benford gets hurt. The DL is going to depend on rookies and Bosa. Which is a total crap shoot. We will still make a run either way. But ya, I’m concerned about the defense already. Wasn’t really from any new information. Just sinking in what this might look like.
  5. Either half the board has jumped off the bridge into the non-playoff abyss, or this years Bills are just not good enough, and we should trade Josh for whatever we can get for him. Which is is?
  6. The roster in 2020 is still unequivocally better. You can’t possibly make any direct argument against that statement. Which is why you didn’t.
  7. No sacks in the first preseason game!?!?!
  8. A lot of options this year, im sure we will have our guy after the 1st game lol
  9. Today
  10. More kookiness from Avi Loeb - - an interstellar recon mission? https://www.foxnews.com/science/harvard-physicist-says-massive-interstellar-object-could-alien-probe-reconnaissance-mission Rare sightings of interstellar objects are like a Rohrschach test for sky gazers searching for extraterrestial intelligent life - - they see what they wanna see.
  11. Why not both? Absurdity is increasingly appropriate as I age.
  12. They are favored because of Josh Allen. End of story. The guy is a supernova at the position. Outside of QB, this is a 5 win roster — at best.
  13. If they can’t come to terms, perhaps Cleveland or Dallas would give up valuable draft capital for the right to overpay a running back. I mean, if any teams would, and both are very much in need… However I hope they keep him, even at a slight overpay, it’s not worth breaking this team up as it teeters on the precipice of greatness, simply to stand on the principles of “we’re not overpaying running backs”. Figure it out, kick the can down the road, win now.
  14. if you're really a teacher, I sincerely hope you don't go anywhere near science. I recertified for the boards 3X's beyond the initial certification exam. Every test included difficult immunology questions. It's a subject that is important to all specialties. They all require a basic understanding, some much more. perhaps that's why 99%+ docs got the covid vax.
  15. Might be a little harsh but as far as I’m concerned the only Buffalo Bills player so far that has earned a reason to have a statue of them is Bob Kalsu. That dude gave his life for his country in Vietnam and should be honored. The great players we have had on the field; Kelly, Allen, Kemp, the 2k yard running back, have all done great things on the field, but not statue level. Maybe if Allen brings a few Lombardi’s home over the next few years, he can join the conversation.
  16. The roster is regressing when we are favored to win all 17 games? We weren’t favored to win all 17 last year and we regressed? Our current over under is 11.5 wins compared to 10 last year at this time. DraftKings has us favored to win the Super Bowl and second in the others. We were what 5th/6th last year? Regressed?
  17. I haven’t watched the game yet, but something is amiss. Gunner says “ugh, that was rough” for Hoecht’s play but now multiple reputable podcasts (Marino, Cover1) are calling his night outstanding. ???
  18. You'd think if Tre was as bad as a lot are saying that one of the other DBs would be able to beat him for the CB2 position. Anyways, staying true to the thread... Arrow up: - Deone Walker: This massive hunk of human can move. I see a ton of potential there. - Palmer: Looked decent, was getting open. Arrow down: - Davidson: If you're going to be a pass catching TE and have that be your best quality then you need to catch the ball. Seems pretty straightforward, he had the dropsies.
  19. One black mark on both of them, Beane and McD, is the roster itself. You look at the first rebuild and it’s beating the current one by a landslide. We had a better roster in 2019-2022. We are regressing. If you compare position by position it’s clear as day. Especially WR and DB.
  20. If we are talking 10-13 million this needs to get done. If we are talking 14-15 million, you eat the million or two overspend for the greater good and get it done. If this is more than that it won’t get done. This isn’t that complicated of a contract. It’s crazy to me they can’t figure this out. Somebody has to be brutally stubborn here and I wouldn’t assume it’s Cook. Could be either. Will be interesting to learn what the numbers ended up being eventually.
  21. Defensively, Tomlin could coach circles around Derm.
  22. Your definition of immune response was ridiculous. Not evading anything. That's why a basic understanding of immunology is required to discuss vaccines. Allergic rxns are immune mediated, rejection of transplanted tissue is immune mediated, responses to infections and vaccines are immune mediated as are a host of other conditions. re the flu vax, it's changed every year because the virus changes at least every year. (as does covid). They make a very educated guess as to what strains will be most prevalent and produce a vax aimed at those. Given the uncertainty, 75% is damn good for the flu. I'm confident you can ask an AI engine your specific question. Personally, I think it more important that less people who are vaxed die than those that aren't, even now.. Interesting that the last hospital I was affiliated with has made refusing the flu vax a fireable offense (starting before covid) but they never mandated covid vax. The decision was purely political at the expense of the community. Also, you're using polio vax as the gold standard. It changed the world and is an amazing thing. but it's not 100% effective either. eg the recipient is on drugs that turn off or turn down the immune system (immune modulating). even in that instance, an immune response would likely occur as defined by some antibodies being produced. In said pt, that may not be enough to prevent infection or viral replication.. immunology. really complex. really interesting. easily misunderstood. from the CDC Immunodeficiency IPV is the only polio vaccine recommended for people with immunodeficiency and people in their households. Immunodeficient persons may not respond fully to the vaccine, but it is safe and might provide some protection.
  23. Discussing playing on Friday and letting the coach know you wouldn’t play is FAR different than what you typed which is that Cook was “asked to go in the game”. That makes it sound like McD said “Cook you’re in” and Cook said “Nah, go ahead Ray”. That is not what happened.
  24. Looking forward to seeing what Jackson and Hawes will do in the next preseason games. Sometimes a rookie plays like.............a rookie. Also looking to see if Hancock and Strong emerge.
