Beane elaborates on the process of picking Josh Allen
Aussie Joe replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
Beane got pretend angry at Mad Max when he ran that fast time at the combine .. The only time Beane has been genuinely disappointed when one of “his guys” ran a slow time was AJE’s 5.04 … he still picked him in the second but told him to lose 40 pounds by training camp -
That Vegas/Edmonton game, with the winning goal scored with 0.4 seconds left in the game!

How about a band that covers itself, and improves! Rush when they released 2112 in 1976 performed it in the key of E. In 1996 when they performed the entire 1st side on the Test for Echo tour, performed it in the key of C. And it sounds hella better in the key of C.

Exactly this. If anyone's a Nickel, it's Hancock. He's set to take over the Cam Lewis floating DB Backup Safety and Nickel role as soon as this season. Also exactly this. If we cut him after Training Camp, we'd save nothing and take on an 8+m Dead Cap hit. With the kind of depth (or lack thereof) at the WR core we have right now and the financials involved, there's really no scenario where Curtis Samuel isn't on the roster.

The minimum salary starts at 860k and tops out at 1.2 million. A stable high quality backup who plays capable special teams for 2 million seems like a good use of a roster spot. The extra stability of good depth at safety with some special teams ability is worth about a million extra dollars over a minimum player. The Bills brought in plenty of competition via a mid round pick and a young vet in Forrest. At worst you have an over abundance of depth at safety and overpaid for a competent special teams player. At best they made sure they have a stable capable backup option who they know can play at a competent level within their system.

Yeah I'm not sure I've seen a three position set of picks that I'm this excited about individually. I think they're all going to be for real. Hancock to me looks like a nickel corner but what do I know.

Yeah, he'd probably make around 50k a year in the CFL as a top CFL Draft Pick. The NFL Practice Squad pays 12.5k a week. So while it's unlikely he makes the 53, if they offer him a Practice Squad spot - he'll more than likely take that over the CFL. On top of the higher pay, you never know when someone might get hurt and that could be your big break. Generally, CFL Draft Picks exhaust all of their NFL options first before reporting.

Should bode well for Keon that they have confidence in him as they really only replaced Coop/Hollins , before his injury he looked completely different. We'll see, feel the same way with Kincaid

Do you believe Superbowl this year?
Mike in Horseheads replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes there will be a superbowl this year -
If both the far left and the far right are upset with Pope Leo, then he is probably doing his job well.
-
Frontier stadium where even Kincaid will fit comfortably. Those were definitely some skinny 16" seats.

That's it. I'm calling in Vance and Rubio. To negotiate your cease-fire.

Beane elaborates on the process of picking Josh Allen
Richard Noggin replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
Swear I overheard Brandon Beane (shortly after he was hired) say he hopes "that Allen kid in Wyoming has a down year so we have a chance at him" when asked by a rich blowhard guest at Tempo about their draft plans at QB. I can see which table Beane was passing as he said this. I trust that memory less and less as time passes (might have been later in Beane's first season on the job, in reference to Allen's pre-draft process/athletic testing), but the memory persists in my rolodex of intimate team official interactions. I remember being terrified the Bills were targeting the Wrong Josh (Allen) that year (because I'm STUPID) much like I was worried they would pick Landon Jackson at 30 this past draft. -
Have you seen his interviews where he reveals he's from Massachusetts and speaks with a very metro accent? Disconcerting, at first, but SO impressive given how iconic and unplanned his character's impact has been (was supposed to die in first episode, but Hader made a last minute audible to let him live). What a gem.

The incredibly dimwitted originator of this thread, who believes TDS does not exist, has a total of 1201 posts. Only 933 of those mention Trump by name. Fun with the search function!! 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻🤦🏻♂️

Normally, I want to pump the brakes on immediate, negative reactions to limited evidence, but it's REALLY DIFFICULT not to be at least a little disappointed in the tight seating dimensions revealed in that short video. Especially given my already-in-motion financial obligation to seats that will likely be identical. Those people were packed in like Allegiant Air or Frontier Airlines economy seating. One important mitigator: standing seems to CREATE more overall space to move and breathe. Different fan heights, and shoulders at an angle facing midfield, allow more 3-dimensionial room to spread out. Good to know they're keeping it COZY in the 100s damn.

Pope Leo was ahead of his time.

We will have to get used to an era in 10 years where Josh Allen won’t be the QB. We will have to sit eventually
-
Thanks. I didn’t realize the back is still an issue.

I think there is a pretty good shot we have the best team this year, and probably for the 1st time in the JA era. I love how they went after improving the D this offseason. I think it will be a top D, and that is what we need to put us over the top. But there are if's and caveats and variables. Will Bosa get back to some of his old form? Will Coleman & Kincaid take the proverbial "next step"? How good can Palmer be w/ Josh? And the biggest - can we stay relatively healthy? Last season was probably as healthy as we've been entering the playoffs. Here's hoping we can be saying that or something close to it about the upcoming year....
