Or taking Cooper DeJean over Keon. Or Nick Emmanwori over Maxwell. Nick Emmanwori, Defensive Back (71 snaps) Emmanwori had another standout game. He had three pressures, was targeted seven times, and allowed three receptions for 40 yards. Other stats include:

I think this will all but seal Tre starting for a little while longer as I doubt they want to go out unsettled at S and with a rookie CB starting too. I am never one for just saying lets move some DB to S, its not some seamless transition that a lot of people think. But assuming the Bills don't make any moves to bring in another safety, one thing I would experiment with in practice is trying Cole out at SS and Tre out at FS. Im not delusional, CB and S are not the same position, and just moving someone from one to the other isn't as easy as many make it sound. BUT - Cole might be better at SS, I have actually long thought that, and Tre has been an elite player in his career, is highly intelligent, and still has good instincts but lacks the pop to succeed still at CB. Looking back at guys who have made that transition successfully and played at a high level at the new FS position, its usually been high IQ players who were great CB's before their speed started to slip. Tre fits the mold of a guy who could potentially pull it off. So - I would at least experiment with it in practice as Max starts to show he is ready to start and see how it looks.

This is a good segue into this question. I don’t know where or how to find these stats but a bunch on here do: Since this scheme has been in place we have allowed a crazy amount of third and long. Not 3rd and 8 or 10 but 3rd and 12+. I have never seen a D over a multi year period consistently allow 3rd and what should be considered extremely long to either be converted or lead to a 4th and short which is then converted. I have a more than sneaking suspicion that if we are not tops in allowing these over the duration of his tenure compared to all other teams, we are top 3. Again, who can find this stat and am I wrong?

The amount of people who take McD's pressers literal and not vague coach talk is hilarious. Dude has every reason to play coy with the starter at SS. Make the Panthers study Poyer, Hancock, and Lewis.

Mike Lombardi's football cred called into question
Simon replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall
I heard he even changed his last name to give himself more credibility. He used to be named Mike McDermott... -
We might of just saved 3-4 future friendly fire injuries having Rapp down.

I’m guessing that you didn’t read the linked article from Science, which is the most respected scientific journal in the US. Article criticizes Walsh because he has no administrative experience.

The Bills DL has played pretty well for the most part. As Happy Day eloquently posted above, it’s the back 7 that is having issues. 60% of DL snaps have been rookies or practice squad. Hoetch and Larry O are gonna be huge additions. They understand Gap Integrity, Contain, Fundamentals. Both are wily veterans, and quite capable. Larry O has some pass rushing moves. Hoetch is Lorenzo Alexander like- Lorenzo Alexander was an amazing player! Bills D is near the of top of many pass rushing metrics. 60% of DL snaps have been rookies or practice squad. Sacks are coming, but DL is hitting QBs, knockdowns, just a millisecond late. Bosa has been been close many times! Bosa plays hard! Rousseau is having a solid year, and is playing better since his bone bruise healed. Ed was a beast in the one game he played. Add in Walker, DL is gonna among top in NFL imo. More intense pass rushing will benefit the back 7. Maxwell will bring speed and playmaking ability. Getting Rapp out was crucial! Benford and Maxwell should be a great CB duo. So Bills D will be much, much, better going forward imo

Very true and it worked best when Dabol was the OC with Allen. Since then its been Allen on his own doing it with one hand behind his back because of his amateur hour OCs. Is it still possible for the offense to get out to a big lead? Yes but far less likely with sputtering schemes of Brady. As soon as a team hangs with us because we cant do anything on offense and our defense gets tired from being on the field, the game becomes much more difficult.

Mike Lombardi's football cred called into question
hondo in seattle replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've been fooled too - but I wasn't fooled all the time. Once a job applicant submitted a resume saying he had previously been an army officer. While it wasn't particularly relevant to the job he was applying for, I was sincerely curious about his experience in the military and asked him a lot of naive questions. I'll give him this: he had quite the imagination and was a fascinating teller of tales. When I told him I was a former army officer myself, his face beet red realizing he'd been caught in a web of his own lies, collected his papers, and shamedly said something to the effect of, "Well, I guess I you're not hiring me." Lombardi is hardly alone in overstating his accomplishments. -

Affordable Care Act or Obamacare
Homelander replied to Another Fan's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
How can anyone criticize Obamacare when Republicans have worked tirelessly to dismantle it, yet proposed no meaningful replacement? -
Ridiculous hindsight observation: The Bills could have picked Kamren Kinchens instead of DeWayne Carter in 2024. This board would have exploded with picking two safeties in that draft, but I think we would be in much better shape today if they had.

PUT THREE LINEBACKERS ON THE FIELD. I don’t care if we did it more this year than in the past. It’s still nowhere near enough. Stop the love affair with Tarron Johnson. You are making it way too easy on teams. And we don’t stop the pass on 3rd down anyway. For a team that’s obsessed with playing nickel, why can’t we ever make stops on 3rd down? We aren’t even good at it. Stop doing it

And the rest of the starting defense can breathe a little easier on gameday now.
