Rest in peace, is it half of TBD or the 2025 Buffalo Bills?
Paup 1995MVP replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was an entertaining game if nothing else. Both Trubisky and White played reasonably well. Back up WR's particularly Shavers Wilkerson Cain and Hamler all have some juice to their game. Our O line will make a lot of RB's look good. Except for maybe Ray Davis. Guy just looks stuck in mud. Maybe a 1-2-3 punch of Ty Johnson, Frank Gore Jr and Darynton Evans. And Davis & Davis can handle our kicking duties if Bass can't get healthy. LOL As for the defense. We have some dam good LB's. And #35 who we just signed was flying around like a nut. Do not get rid of him. The problem is the D line. They get absolutely no pass rush. Doesn't matter who they put in, nothing!! Landon Jackson looked awful. No one was getting near the QB. What is it about our D Ends. They make nothing happen. Maybe we will be stouter against the run. But the pass rush was non existent. 1's 2's 3's. Noone did anything. As for the secondary. Benford is a stud. But we need Hairston back. Trey White starting scares me. Great guy. But looks super slow. Hancock looks to have the most talent we have had at safety since Hyde and Poyer were in their prime. Anyone have any idea what is the problem w the D line especially the pass rush? Scheme, lack of talent, coaching? -

I never said he had a low coaching acumen. I’m on the record many times stating very good but not good enough. If you want to talk winning percentage between the two you have to account for: What percentage of HC games has McD had Josh as a starter. What percentage had Schottenheimer had a QB of equal talent as Josh. It matters

I voted Cole Bishop. Just seems like the guy that will always be hurt. Coupled with Brian Thomas Jr solidifying himself as a star, we’ll be reading “I knew Beane should’ve traded up for BTj” all season. Cole Bishop is the pick we would’ve had to trade to get there. If Bishop turns out to be a stud, it will soften the blow. I think he’ll be good….IF he can stay healthy. Would be nice if Hancock can excel at FS and we can roll with Bishop at SS and Hancock FS possibly as soon as next season. Back on topic: Honorable mention- Landon Jackson- he’ll probably be inactive every week after Hoecht returns. Possibly IR’d. Keon- I think he’ll excel and have an arrow up season but I also think he’ll have his share of drops and missed opportunities that many here will not let slide without excessive bashing. James Cook- I don’t think we will sign him prior to the season and nice handful of folks will say “we don’t need him1 ray and Ty are just as good” after every subpar /par game he has. Beane- if the pass rush still sucks and our vertical passing game isn’t effective he’ll get ripped, for good reason.

Make up your minds. Libnuts claim Trump has dementia. So that means he can't REMEMBER the subject. -
Cocaine. Not because I had any moral superiority about it or anything. Just because I feared I would like it, and then I'd have an expensive and self-destructive habit on my hands. So I just...never touched it.

You really think a coach in the NFL who wins 65% of his games has a low coaching acumen? You think if Josh Allen went to Cleveland or the Jets, Hue Jackson would still have his job or Todd Bowles would still be coaching in New York? C'mon man.

McDermott could also completely hand over the defense to one of the top available former defensive head coaches and carry on as the leader of the team. He doesn't coach special teams, why does he need to coach defense? Be the younger Pete Carroll, who I bet 90% of NFL fans don't see as a "defensive HC" or "offensive HC" just a HC. Great leader, sets the tone, etc.

This stretch has been brutal, impossible to sugar coat it. But I still expect them to make the playoffs. And I'll hold out hope that when they do they'll be on a heater. But realistically I just don't think their starting pitching is playoff calibre. I could change my mind if Senga and Manaea regain form and figure out how to get to the 7th inning and if Peterson continues to impress and if they get some help from one of the minor league starters.

I too have never broken a bone. Not even a nose or toe. I am also a virgin. -
That sounds like something for you to celebrate.

Well, I was invited to participate in a threesome once. There were a couple of no-shows, but I still had a good time. 😀 -

Yeah, but we usually played the starters for a few series and looked good. -
I’m afraid you are wasting your time. There is too much hostility built up in some people to get anything other than what we are seeing here. They will carry this thread out of sheer hatred. We have to ignore the things they tell us to ignore, and just look where they point. They point to everything negative about the past, and tell us Josh is the only reason for anything good. They don’t see the bright side which I (and others, including Vegas) find so encouraging.

If the Bills lose in the playoffs again, regardless who the team is, and especially if the defense disappoints yet again, this will be the national conversation like it or not. Allen is a superstar and the Bills are currently a team in the spotlight. All the national media will be saying "not even 1 SB appearance with Josh Allen at QB?" Allen has been one of the best QBs in recent playoff history, yet zero SB appearances. It isn't the same with the Ravens. Lamar's play has dipped significantly in the playoffs, so you can't just blame the coach. Here we have Allen elevating his game in the biggest moments, yet the coaching and defense do not step up. That's an issue. At some point, what is the value of a defensive HC whose defense always lets the team down in the playoffs? That will 100% be the discussion. Hopefully, it's all moot and we get to and win the SB!
