  1. Past hour
  2. Rodgers has a history of disrespecting his HC that goes back quite a few years. I remember him once screaming towards Mike McCarthy on the sideline during a game, "F###ING STUPID!!!" He publicly disrespected Saleh on game days as well, and caused a culture rift in Jersey. It will be interesting to see how the relationship between Rodgers and Tomlin develops. In the past, Rodgers has expressed admiration for Tomlin. But now that they're on the same team, I can't wait to see how Tomlin, who seems to have exactly zero tolerance for Bullsh!t, handles Rodgers' gameday demeanor. I may just start following the Steelers.
  3. I think he is at least making the PS with a chance to crack the roster This was a fantastic pickup by Beane ... He is really plugged into FCS programs and has a knack for identifying NFL talent there This kid is a tremendous athlete who with our coaching I think he could legitimately bloom into a potential starter in a couple years But I like his play style and I think he has a good amount of potential
  4. I don't disagree, but Owen still has players ahead of him that he has to beat out. Like a number of posters, I've been critical of both Rapp and Hamlin, but the fact is they started most or all of the games at safety in 2024. Likewise, Derrick Forrest has started games in the NFL and has at least decent athleticism. Cole Bishop struggled with injury early in his rookie campaign, but came on late. Reports this spring are that he's in great shape and is now very comfortable in the defense and making very quick reads. Then, of course, Jordan Hancock is a draft pick that has position flexibility, mostly slot and safety. That's vie players who are presumably ahead of Owen in the minds of the coaching staff apart from of field observations. That means Owen probably has to jump two players to be assured of roster spot in September. He can do that either through his own stellar play, or players in front of him either disappointing coaches with their play or getting injured. Yeah, most other positions on the team are more settled, but the path to a roster spot is still no piece of cake for a UDFA at safety.
  5. I don't think Hamlin will be on the team after 2 pre-season games.
  6. It's been four years since Rodgers was a relevant quarterback and he's 41 on a mediocre Steelers team lol
  7. The Steelers are even a less talented team than the Jets were on offense. Poor OL, one decent receiver, no RB, mediocre TE, and oh by the way, a seriously over the hill QB who cannot even spell team. This will not end well, not that I care.
  8. They said it was supposed to correlate with the Niagara Falls and Fall being football season. I didn't think it was the greatest title choice but never took it as offensive as some people did.
  9. Just a few thoughts on the topic... I see some people asking the question "who watches every NFL game?" That misses the larger issue which is that the cost of watching the NFL continues to increase. That's the issue. Another issue is whether the cost of watching games is "fair." Some argue that the cost is fair based on simple market economics... "what the market will bear." However with the wealth inequality in this country there is an inequality in who can afford to watch the games, so to me it's a bit more complex than "what the market will bear" because the league is pricing out loyal and longtime customers that helped build the league. I'm with @Logic and @Simon in the opinion that the monopoly and greed of the NFL justifies a reaction of contempt and arguably justifies acts of piracy. I don't personally practice piracy but I don't have a problem with those that do. I always say you're only as principled as you can afford to be. At these prices I can still afford to be principled. If someday I decide not to pay an arm and a leg to the NFL, then they will lose my revenue. What will be interesting is what the NFL will do when higher prices create a drop in revenue. Will the NFL lower prices to increase the number of paying customers or will they simply raise prices on their remaining customers?
  10. Cook is the 2nd most impactful player on the team. They need to get him a new deal and to camp. The season hinges on it
  11. Ok, if this is “scripted,” it has surpassed 4D chess and is now like 7 or 8D. I didn’t even know there were that many Ds… wait, what? But curious that Elon is in essence accusing Trump of being a pedo yet let his kid hang with the orange man. This is the kind of stuff that if it were on a TV series, I’d stop watching after half an episode because it’s just too unbelievable.
  12. Someone posted earlier today was a distraction from what Russia was about to do. I actually completely brushed that off. Oops
  13. guy sounds pretty promising. Could easily push Hamlin off the roster on promise alone
  14. Will I be allowed to celebrate when Coleman scores his first TD this year?
  15. Cook has unique burst and wiggle. Somehow, difficult to get a good tackle on despite his unusual frame. Gets lost in the mix then bursts for 8-9 yards. Has breakaway speed and has shown it consistently to the outside. He's worth paying. Not 15 but above 10.
  16. When I started back with DirecTV on the original RCA box/dish from BestBuy, it was $99 and then $119 for a few years. How times have changed.
  17. I saw one of my ruby throat hummingbirds today. She was flitting around the solomon's seal near the front deck. Usually, the hummers don't show up until the hostas start blooming ... or maybe I just don't notice them because the solomon's seal in the backyard is pretty far from the house. I've also had purple finches and goldfinches show up at my feeders this week as well as a beautiful female hairy woodpecker (hairy woodpeckers look like downey woodpeckers, only much bigger and with a different shaped beak). I think that this might be the same woodpecker that hung around my feeders most of the late summer and into the fall last year since hairies aren't nearly as common as downeys. She was probably a young bird last summer, and figured my neighborhood was a good place to raise a family.
  18. This is a really higher than indicated in some places, lower in others. ESPN+ does not get you Monday night football. The new ESPN streaming service will, but they have announced that will be $29.99 per month. As someone else mentioned, YouTube TV isn’t required for Sunday ticket, and Netflix has lower priced plans than $22.99, I think that is their highest priced plan.
  19. But is he better than when we had Bledsoe?
  20. I have no problem starting Davis
  21. Zero doesn’t qualify as an over/under so I’ll say 1. That feels like a certainty.
  22. you can sign up for any streamer for a month and cancel. out of area, there has never been one network that you could watch all of one team’s games
