Cook is a lot better than Swift but that looking for a massive contract part is huge. I doubt any team would be willing to give up a day two pick and then overpay for a very good but not elite RB. That's under the assumption that Cook is asking for more than he's worth. He either takes a fair market extension from Beane or this is his last year here imo. We could get one more year with Cook in his prime and then get a 3rd or 4th round comp pick next year if he signs elsewhere. He's not going to hold out and forfeit $5m unless he's fricken crazy.

Watched it again today. Great stuff. Brady is a funny guy, and I enjoy hearing the “real” language. Can’t wait for next week! This is exactly right. Usually the team highlighted is a s-h-i-t-show. They’re probably amazed at how smoothly things go here. The Cook thing will give them a little juice for next week, but even that isn’t particularly dramatic.

We'll have to agree to disagree. As the season plays out, I certainly hope your right. That being said, availability is becoming a concern. Left early in the KC game last year, and missed the 23 game against KC, and 22 playoff game against Cincy. Maybe he can finish this year, and be the difference in the game.

And the stuff Trump is doing is not helping the economy. There’s your problem. It is not improving and, for low wage earners, it’s getting worse. Meanwhile, there’s talk of this hoax and that hoax and detention camps and the YMCA dance. They have lost the plot.

We drafted James Cook in the 2nd round, just three years ago... And he has surpassed expectations, becoming one of the best running backs in the league, with two excellent years. And underutilized last year, needed more touches. And it's very clear he is an ascending player, seemed to get better with every game last year. So the best is yet to come. He should have a monster year this year in Buffalo. And the Bills spent three years helping him develop into a top of the line NFL starting running back. I wonder how many man hours that adds up to. So, you think we can maybe get a 3rd round pick for James Cook? Do you think that is a good trade for the Bills? I do not.

I can see this. Pats are going to win 10 games. -
Didn't he know you can't stop Chase on the couch?

Benford is elite .. Surtain was a non factor vs Bills in playoff game. No shut downs in NFL as that’s a joke. Benford is in the same conversation as Surtain.. had he been a first rounder the comparison would be constant.

A thought: the player most like Cook in recent years (in pretty much every way) is none other than his brother, who is four years older than him. Both were second round picks, both went to Miami Central High, both ran 40 times in the 4.4s (James is a little faster), and they're roughly the same size. Like James, who just finished year 3, Dalvin had a breakout season in year 3 (AV of 15; 53 receptions for a 9.8 ypr [great for a RB]; 13 total TDs, and 1,135 rushing yards for 4.5 ypc). In his next three seasons Dalvin C had one truly elite season (year 4 -- 111.2 rushing yards per game and a 5.0 ypc rate), one good season, and one decent season. In that sixth year, he averaged 4.4 ypc (1,173 rushing yards), but that 4.4 ypc was bolstered by none other than his longest run ever: the 81-yard TD rush vs Buffalo right after Edmunds went off the field (he was having a great game) in one of the most brutal Bills losses of recent times. Take away that run, it's 3.8 ypc, and if you make it a 25 yard run because 81 yards is so spiky in the statistical sense, he averaged 3.87 ypc on the season. Still, it was a decent if not great season. The thing is, the Vikings wanted no part of him after that season, and he moved onto the Jets, where his production fell off a cliff. If we assume he's a good comp, should the Bills pay James $33 million ($23-$25 million guaranteed) over 3 years for 88.4 rushing yards per game on average, 4.72 ypc, 45 receptions for 7.65 ypr, and 12 rushing and receiving TDs per season on average? Sure, you're buying some decline, but from my perspective that's OK if you get two upper-end years plus one decent enough season.

Moore has, at times through camp so far, been far more impressive than this guy leads on. It makes sense though that he said this after looking at his overall narrative on X. I can tell you that Moore has looked extremely explosive in short area space. No where near close to being cut-worthy at this point either. Mike is full of crap.

I haven’t heard a peep about Ulo and he’s someone I’ll be curious to watch in the preseason both on defense and ST. But I think it’s worth reminding folks with Ulo too that although he was a rookie last year he’s already 25 - so if he’s not ready for a role now we shouldn’t hold our breath.

Benford isn’t listed in the snap counts so apparently didn’t play in the playoff game, anyway.

Trumps buddy Putin is helping change the news cycle by agreeing to a meeting. The brave one is Zelensky, getting ganged up on by these two friends. Trump trying to act tough, he wants that Nobel Prize so bad, Obama got one for no reason.

I remember FSU's top 3 QB's went down his last year there didn't they?

Every starter has trade value. Especially one of Cook’s quality. No significant trades have been done regarding that position. They all played their final year then signed elsewhere; Saquon, Jacobs, Henry, Aaron Jones and Mixon to name a few. Hopefully he plays and an extension gets done. If he isn’t going to play, trade him and the next man up.

It was the last time we played them which was in Cinnci in ‘23. Chase was 4/41. The Hamlin game ended nine minutes into the first quarter with the Bengals leading 7-3. There are no stats from that game. Boyd had the erased TD pass from Burrow. Benford didn’t play in the playoff game three weeks later so there’s just no record of how he fared vs Chase. And we don’t know how much of that 4/41 night in ‘23 was against Benford, regardless. I’ll say this; as good as Benford is, he is not as good a CB as Chase is a WR. No shame in that though.

He will certainly get his chance now that he is the starter at Texas. I am curious to see how he does even though the Bills don't need a QB. I think the Jets will draft one in Rd 1. Fields only has a two-year deal and I don't see him as their long-term answer. Who knows what the Dolphins will do. Do they move on from Tua. Possibly. The only two teams in the division set at QB are the Bills and Pats.
