Sauce had his worst year in the NFL last year (was still very good) and Benford had his best year. Last year they were close, for sure. I can take an argument as I say that if you isolate 2024 alone your perspective isn't unreasonable. But Sauce has two absolute elite of the elite seasons under his belt. If you look at his PFF grades for 2022 and 2023 they agree with that. And when you look at catches and touchdowns given up and passes defensed Sauce still has a significant advantage. But the Sauce disrespect has gone way over the top. I know he is a Jet and we hate the Jets but he is an absolute stud.

There's still much denial out there. The laptop is real. The communications and documents are real. Meetings and connections took place. The big guy was directly involved. But it provides some data helping prove Benford is superior. Benford- better tackler. MUCH more physical. Benford- better at creating turnovers. Sauce possibly maybe a hair better at coverage. But Benford can shut down oppossing WR just as well Benford is ascending. Sauce is not as good as he was 2 years ago. Players trending different directions. Its a what "can you do for me today, not what did you do yesterday league"

If you want to argue that Benford played slightly better in 2024, I could take that as a reasonable argument. But Sauce's first two seasons were absolute elite of elite and he was still very good in 2024. He has also given up fewer touchdowns in coverage in his 3 year NFL career than Benford gave up in 2024. There is a gap after that top four for me. They have clearly separated.

What do you mean you’d have thought McLauren “would’ve waited years for this”? This is the last year of his contract. Of course he wants an extension now. This is the time players usually get one. I understand the Commanders not wanting to give a big contract to a WR pushing 30, but it’s time to do an extension if they want to keep him past this year.

I bought a Milano jersey online in summer of 2022(Benfords rookie season). For some reason they had Benford jerseys, at a super low price($20 or something). Why do they have a 6th round pick Jersey? Why so affordable? In preseason, you could see Benford could play. I bought the Milano and the Benford Jersey then, and I have been rocking a Benford jersey his entire career. Now we all know, Benford is elite Benford is better than Sauce IMO. He is excellent tackler, superior to Sauce in that regard. He creates turnovers more than Sauce. He can excel in zone or press. And Benford take away another teams #1 just as well. Christian Benford belongs in top 4 NFL CBS IMO

Ethan, first thanks for the distraction with this thread. It seems like we have a diverse bunch of guys (unisex phrase). As far as hobbies, I work in the business side of medicine, so not a hobby, but a large part of my life. Faith is important to me, and so is my family. I’m a father of three, and now with my second marriage two stepsons. My daughter is adopted from China, and turns out 8 years after the end of my first marriage (22 years), I swore I’d never remarry, but did to the most wonderful girl and coincidentally was born and raised in China. Talking to her parents is interesting as they don’t speak English. They live in my wife’s home about 4-5 months a year. I’ve always worked out since I was 14, and just a part of me. I have a buddy we try and train together around 4-5 days a week. I too liked all the Star Trek shows and movies except that DSN. I still go to church most weeks, but don’t ask my wife to attend. I have a park I enjoy the solitude. It’s called Philippe Park in Safety Harbor and on the north end of Tampa Bay. I enjoy the silence of it, and have actually started to meditate, which was a challenge as I’m usually a mile a minute. It’s nice watching the fisherman, and the older couple taking walks with each other holding hands. Movies Football (mainly the NFL) Love cooking for my wife and her kids Lastly, a closet Dexter fan. I’ve been able to get my wife excited on the shows, and her ring ton is the beginning song for Dexter. Mine is the ominous music at the end of every show. The top four corners in football are Surtain, Sauce, Stingley and McDuffie (and it is Surtain #1 and the other three are close together). You can have an argument about who is #5 and the order thereafter. But anyone who doesn't think those four are the four best guys is simply wrong. And Benford is definitely in that 5-10 range as well. But low profile, 6th round pick, will take time for him to get all the recognition he is due.
