I don’t know where i stand with Joe Brady
Chaos replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
The problem with judgeing Joe Brady, is that we really don't know what his mission is. Because it appears he is saddled with the requirment to cover up the defense's deficiencies at the expense of optimizing the offense. Assuming his mission is to optimize the offense this is what I think he is not innovative. He is predictable. His play designs don't call to mind the top guys in the league. And his situational play calling is questionable. If he had Drake Maye or Tua has his QB, i think his offense would suck. I think there is room for improvement. I don't want an OC who has a vision for an offensive scheme that he fits Josh Allen into. I think want an OC that can figure out how to use the greatest cheat code in the history of the NFL for 60 minutes a game. -
THIS 👆👆👆 would explain a lot! It also should be WHY, Bobby B gets shown the door before next season He's nowhere NEAR McDermott in his play calling IMO. Doesn't script strong, doesn’t interpret what he's seeing, and DOES NOT MAKE THE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS!!!! Perhaps McD should hire a gameday manager so he can focus on calling the defense

I think he has been fairly consistent but results haven't always shown. -

I know I was talking about Stroud - point being 'first year everyone lost their minds over said player' -

He’s been the beneficiary of the Pats trouncing most of their schedule. He hasn’t had to play from behind and take over a game to win much. he hasn’t had to do it (and that’s okay) but that’s the next step he needs to take. Vrabel had Tannehill looking really good when their offense was on schedule. -
First half I was worried about not having Benford but guys definitely stepped up

And without them Maye had a 62 rating and 155 yards passing. Whew. You'd expect more from an MVP. Especially in the 4th quarter when it was obvious we would not be stopped -
He’s going to make a game saving play in the playoffs. I believe he has one more in him.

Davis came back in, if you had watched the game. Again, both teams missing players. Buffalo missing CB1, best DT, their MLB, and a situational player in Hoecht. Could it just be that teams are figuring out how to run on NE? Possible, or maybe Williams is the missing cog. We shall see when NE plays next week. -
Nothing wrong with expecting more out of the team / coaching staff at this point. We've seen the regular season glory time and again. Josh taking over games. What has it led to? A lot of disappointment in the playoffs. The team must be capable of playing two decent halves. Starting a little slow is one thing. Looking lost in the first half of the majority of games is another. Sorry that as a fan I'm happy but not content. Giggle on if that what suits you.

I brought it up because you said something like ‘obviously maye will only get better’ which is not obvious. Nfl careers often don’t go that way. Really isn’t rocket science here He may get even better he may not. I’m not predicting he will flame out after year 2 but year 2 could possibly be his peak output you just never know. Happens more than you seem to think and every fanbase says all the same things lol you just put us through this with Mac jones…dolphins just put us through something similar with the wizard McDaniel supposedly unlocking tua’s potential -

We need to confuse our guys into thinking the 1st quarter is the 3rd.

For ME I put him top of his draft class right now followed by Caleb and Daniel’s .. I’m interested see how Maye handles the rest of the year simply because this is the most games he has ever played in a season now. -
Has Josh Allen put himself back in the race for MVP this year??
FireChans replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it’s Stafford’s to lose. hes never won it and it’s his likely last shot. The Rams are probably the most impressive team top to bottom. I’m kind of okay with it honestly. It probably gets him in the Hall and he had HoF talent that went to waste in Detroit, -

I also don't get the comparisons of Maye to Josh at this stage - bc he is tall? Josh was a wild massive bull/stallion with a bazooka arm and 'accuracy issues' who looked to bowl people over (when he wasn't hurdling them). Maye throws a good deep ball and is mostly accurate and scrambles straight ahead. He doesn't match Josh for size, strength (arm and overall), athleticism, attitude or overall 'superman' traits. And some of those he will never have. I really don't look at him and think that Josh is what he will become. I don't see any 'superman' or 'alien' in him. I think Stroud more than anyone when I think of Maye - people losing their minds his first year then everything coming back to earth once teams figure him out -

Appreciate the reply. Can I ask why the about face? Why suddenly say "Allen and the Bills are leaning heavily on Cook" now rather than saying that whilst Josh was legitimately having down periods earlier in the season, and getting criticism for it?
